- Osmar Luiz (10/5): Um bom hotel - Hotel bem localizado no centro da cidade, funcionários atenciosos e corteses, excelente café da manhã.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - A fine, very friendly hotel right in the centre and next to the magnificent park. Very good restaurant. Aircon could have worked a bit better.

- AngelicaT260 (2/5): Terrible Hotel - On the way to Arica we need it a place to rest for the night, sleep at this pricey poor and run down Hotel. The floor of the rooms were disgusting dirty, bare foot was a NO NO, shower full of mould. Be lining old and wear out. Old blankets, old towels, breakfast poor, grumpy staff.
Never again will stay there. Will seriously not recommend.
The only good thing is parking, is secure under ground.
- brianarkell (4/5): Run down - This hotel is really run down. Needs renovations. Good central location. Good size rooms and good internet. But otherwise not acceptable. The carpets are old and dirty. Towels and bedsheets old and yellow brown. Folks at the front desk are cranky.
- marcrd72 (6/5): Nice and clean - Although the hotel seems to require a new look this is a good place to stay. The rooms are out dated but they are very clean. It's location is good so as to explore the center of the town. My only complaint would be the price. The hotel charges a price for a big city with all the finishings but it comes up a little short. The service is good.
- Charles02032 (6/5): Accident in the bathroom - Slippery bathroom with poor shower installation . I had a severe accident in the bathroom . No phone in it . I had a cut in my head and TEC .... blood every where. Guy at reception had nothing to help . Went by own mean to a clinic Atacama ...treatment OK
Besides that accident hotel has good breakfast , room and bed
- rolanda_hooch (6/5): Pretty average, very central - This hotel is pretty standard. By no means is it a luxury hotel (despite the price not being cheap!) but it is clean, has comfy beds and has wi-fi that reliably works.
Facilities include a tiny gym (literally one bike machine, one cross trainer and a weights bench, but with no weights). There's also a pool, which is also very small but might be a nice place to sit and relax.
The room I had was really big, and had a great view of the town and the mountains. Everything was clean - my only criticism is that the cleaner was a bit overly invasive in their cleaning (put all my toiletries away in my toiletry bag and moved things around quite a lot...).
Breakfast was good, there were cereals, yogurt, cheese, bread, cakes, tea and coffee. Pretty standard. The location of the hotel is a real plus, it is right on the central square of Copiapo so is very close to restaurants and nightlife.
- Kiko1176 (10/5): veery good! - In a importatn Chilean city.
Located in the center, easy to find. Very big rooms, american standard.
Veeeery nice breakfast.

- ProudCat (8/5): Great amenities - take a day off here - We arrived to Copiapo on Wed this August and apparently most of the hotels were 100% booked. We couldn't believe it...But eventually we found a double room in this hotel which wasn't cheap (we paid $143 per night) but it proved to be one of the nicest hotels during our trip in Chile. I was able to take a nice shower and relax :-)
The room was lovely, super clean, big bathroom, comfy beds. The hotel itself is right on the main square of Copiapó - excellent location. We loved their breakfast - regular continental breakfast items and huge selection of breads plus good deli meats, cheeses, selection of juices, pastries, nice selection of fruits and more. The hotel even has a gym and an outdoor swimming pool which we didn't use because it's a winter time in Chile. And they have an indoor parking garage that is very useful if you travel in a rental car. And free WIFI, of course! Overall I'd compare this hotel to a Hilton or even Mariott in US. We really enjoyed our stay there.
- eurojen (6/5): Good overall - The room was lovely, super clean, big bathroom, comfy beds.
The hotel itself is right on the main square of Copiapó - excellent location.
My only criticism would be the restaurant. The food wasn't that good and the breakfast was poor.
- x1achilles (8/5): Excellent Hotel -- first world - I was sick when we arrived in Copiapo by car over the Paso San Francisco from Argentina and I told my friend that we had to stay in a nice, modern hotel. Boy, does the Diego de Almeida fit the bill. It is on par with a Marriott Hotel. First world all the way. It was US143 per night but worth it when you are not feeling well. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we had a little terrace with glass doors out to it.
Two big queen beds, LCD tv, nice bathroom, good breakfast. Location couldn't be better....right on the main city plaza. Parking was in an underground secure garage and was free. Copiapo is not the prettiest city in Chile but this hotel was just what we needed. The hotel was built two years ago (2009). It is kind of an ugly box on the outside but inside was what mattered.
- Dramatics (10/5): Excellent centrally placed hotel in Copiapo - This hotel could not be better placed for an enjoyable stay in Copiapo. It fronts onto the main town square which is a colourful and entertaining part of the town. The Hotel itself is extremely comfortable with welcoming staff who speak English, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the Hotel has lots of amenities i.e. outside pool, internet, a gym and a restaurant. Being in the centre means it is well placed for all the restaurants. Our main reason for staying was to go and see the Dakar Rally, which has two stages around the town, and there were free buses every day to the event! A very high quality hotel indeed.
- miatraveling (8/5): great service - Would recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness and service.
The breakfast buffet was good. Speedy internet service.
It faces the town square, so it's easy to get anywhere from here.
- Guest (6/5): Good, but.. - I recently stayed at this hotel on business. I was pleasantly surprised with the rooms, which were modern, comfortable and with all the amenities one needs. Its not at all like what a prior reviewer wrote as "seeing its better days." Its a fine choice for a business stay.
That said, a few issues.
First, dogs constantly barking on the street below at night (not the hotel's fault, of course, but you might ask for a room that is not on the plaza side).
Second, the maids are somewhat overeager to tidy up things, so much so that they replace your soap everyday. It was somewhat bothersome to have to break open soap every time you take a shower. Once, I came back to my room to find the toothpaste top had been incredibly jammed, making it impossible to open...
Third, there is NO room service. If you're working in your room, its kind of a hassle to have to go to the restaurant below to get your coffee or grab a sandwich. As well, while the food was generally acceptable, the bread was at times stale.
- SAmTrax (8/5): Recently renovated, good location - This hotel was meant to be a stop on our trip by car from Santiago to San Pedro de Atacama and we were a little concerned after seeing rather negative reviews. Still, our concerns quickly disappeared upon arrival, as we realized the place was indeed recently totally refurbished. Large, clean and comfortable rooms, with nice flat screen TVs, new carpeting, a/c (although not necessary at night) and soundproof windows. On the flipside, the walls resemble cardboard, so when our neighbor decided to call home at 1 a.m., we heard him pretty clearly. The bathroom also brandnew, with massive water pressure, which was a positive surprise, particularly considering we were in a very dry area and in the 7th floor. Free parking was underground, with direct elevator access.
Breakfast is varied and abundant, but various members of staff tried but were unable to get the espresso machine to work.
If you need a workout facility or pool, be prepared for both of these facilities to be tiny, although also new and well kept. Both gym and pool leave the impression of having been squeezed into the hotel (which has otherwise generous spaces), perhaps to obtain a higher star rating.
Location is great, right off the main plaza, surrounded by several restaurants and cafes, and within the main commercial district of town. Overall, not an impressive value, but then again probably the best hotel in town – and as such in a position to command a premium (perhaps the prices were driven up by the Copiapó’s role in the 2010 Paris-Dakar competition).
- TaupoGirl (4/5): Has Seen Better Days - This hotel is sadly run down and scruffy. It is situated in the centre of town on the main Plaza and the main reason I chose it was it's '7' rating in the Rough Guide.
The staff were helpful and a heater appeard in my room 5 minutes after asking for one (it was cold) and the earthquake/tremor later that evening was quite exciting (certainly moved the crockery and shook the wooden floors in the restaurant) but the pillows were stained and only one pillowcase provided; the carpets had burn holes as did the edge of the sink - it was dirty - cobwebs in the room and window corners.
Off street parking was a bonus and the restaurant food was good - but 4 star? No way.
