• Ginlwc (10/5): Amazing & Soulful Sabhal - Everything! Host was sweet and prompt. The house was lovely, comfortable, and cosy. There was milk, coffee, tea, butter, jam, salt/pepper, kitchenware etc provided for, as well as toiletries. Private parking lot! Love the view from the balcony door. Wish I could stay longer in Sabhal. Nothing! Everything was great & amazing.

Everything about The Sabhal is done to a high standard from the great shower to the comfortable bed and great kitchen equipment. The location is the ideal base for visiting Skye and a short drive to the pubs and restaurants. Would recommend to anyone planing to stay on Skye.

• Allen (10/5): Wonderful accommodations in a lovely and central location - Perfect situation for two couples traveling together! The accommodations were lovely and in a beautiful setting. So many pretty and clever design and decorating aspects at the Sabhal and the layout was comfortable and well thought out. We enjoyed sharing meals together and found all that we needed for simple preparations. It was a pleasure to find fresh eggs, bread, butter and jam, coffee, tea, cocoa and cookies (biscuits). I also found the milk frother to be a wonderful invention, a perfect touch for morning coffee and cocoa. I now own one here at home :^) We found the location to be as hoped; central, peaceful, quiet with sheep in the fields and birds in the sky. We enjoy meeting the host families we stay with and found Rachael to be engaging and welcoming. We regret that our mutually busy schedules did not allow more time to touch base. I still don't know the backstory behind the charming button wainscotting. I am sure there is one!

• Koldingness (8/5): Cozy farm location - Quiet Sign on the highway could be bolder. A mat at the entrance and just inside would be helpful to ensure that the guest keeps this lodging pristine. A microwave for self catering cooking would be helpful and paper towels to aid clean up. A little table outside with the chairs would be a nice addition. All in all it was clean, sweet, comfy and quiet with a lovely host.

• Max (8/5): Herrliche Natur und Entspannung in der Nähe von Portree. - Schnuckeliges kleines Gebäude mit zwei Zimmern und eigener Terrasse mit Nachmittagssonne. Große Dusche. Leider relativ hellhörig. Daher am besten beide Zimmer gleichzeitig buchen! ;-)

Excellent shower room and toiletries The view towards the loch. The quiet and remoteness, even though it's only a few miles from Portree. And we'd great weather. Having to come away at the end of our stay .

The location was ideal, just a 10-minute drive from Portree. Rachael was incredibly welcoming, leaving us eggs, bread, milk, tea, coffee, and butter. Her restaurant recommendation was spot-on. • Rachel (9/5): Can't recommend this place enough. - The property is beautifully presented and very comfortable. There were lots of provisions for us, such as cereal, jam, butter etc, which was lovely. Rachael was so welcoming and helped us feel at home. Having the outside area to sit in was great, and the three lambs over the fence were an added bonus! We usually like to stay within walking distance of eating areas and/or a pub, so we were a little out of our comfort zone here, as the car was necessary for everywhere. But we knew that before we booked and adapted our habits accordingly. The accommodation in Portree was too expensive for us, and this place was within our budget and so amazing, that it was worth making changes to our plans.

• Neil (9/5): Superb - Comfortable compact modern semi detached unit in very quiet rural location, 7 miles from Portree. The owners provided some welcome provisions despite the local shops being low on supplies. The two ring mobile induction hob was quick and useful. There were only two items of cutlery and crockery therefore requiring frequent washing up.
• Suzanne (10/5): Perfect location, beautiful grounds, quiet,comfortable and cozy! - The Sabhal was easy to access, well marked upon arrival and a designated parking spot outside. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We loved seeing the sheep and lambs outside on the beautiful landscape! We had our own private entrance into the room and we were welcomed with plenty of coffee, which we drank most of😊, and tea, bread, milk, jam, eggs, milk and I’m sure I forgot somethings because what we had was a perfect start to our day with what was left in our room. The room was very quiet and decorated with simple detail in mind. We had a perfect sitting area outside which we didn’t use because we were out during the day enjoying the Isle of Skye and the amazing weather we had during our stay. We were sorry that we didn’t get to chat with the owners due to missing them coming in and out and my phone not accessing my emails, which was no fault of the wonderful wifi access we had there. I would recommend The Shabal to anyone staying in Skye, it was the perfect location and a perfect choice for our stay! Not a thing!
• Bronwyn (10/5): Fantastic, such a great place to stay! - Everything! My daughter (a seasoned traveller) said it couldn’t be faulted. The property was delightful as was Rachel the owner. We had a great time, it was an excellent base for all our excursions, being about 15 mins from Portree but away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist town. We arrived at almost midnight due to an accident on the only road onto the island and Rachel having heard, had turned on the lamps and heating, it was very welcoming as were the milk, bread, eggs, tea and coffee for the next morning. This really is an excellent place to stay, our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Thanks Rachel for making our visit even more special than it was going to be. ❤️ There is nothing not to like about this property. It is exactly as portrayed in the online photos.
• Brian (10/5): Great place to stay. - Very comfortable room. Clean and tidy, well presented. Rachel was very friendly and welcoming, even contacting us halfway through our stay to see if there was anything else she could do for us. She provided a number of basic items for self-catering (cereal, milk, tea, coffee, bread, etc). Very restful, nice and quiet, and easy sleeping. There was nothing to complain about as far as the accommodation was concerned. But if you intend eating out in Portree, I'd recommend booking in advance as the local eateries were often fully booked.
• Dennis (10/5): Exceptional stay - Everything was exceptional. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great and the room was nicely furnished. It was very quiet at night. The host, Rachael, was very helpful in providing information on what to see on the Island. Rachael kindly sent some items we left behind back to Australia for us. It was close to a local hotel that served nice meals. We would definitely stay there again. There was nothing we disliked!

She provided us with an email about how to access the room and had provided some groceries to help us settle in. We loved the location and the freedom to walk out on the property to get excellent views of the water and surrounding mountains. We arrived during lambing season and had a great time watching the lambs with their mothers. The room was very comfortable and clean. An exceptional location to get away from the crowds.

The accommodations were conveniently located not too far from Portree making them convenient to most of the popular sites on the island.Rachael was easy to reach if you had any questions. I would highly recommend The Sabhal to anyone visiting the Isle of Skye and I look forward to a return trip back!

The host allowed us to check in quite late and left us some bread, egg and milk to get the day started which was very helpful. Location is very good as well, being 10 minutes away from Portree.

The place had the intimate feel of visiting friends on their family farm. Rachael and Ally were very generous in allowing us access to their property and answering all of our questions. Lambs were born during our stay and we loved watching them follow their mums around. The lodging was well thought out and provided all our needs. We wished we could have stayed longer! The house is big, comfortable and designed so beautifully. They thought of every detail to make you feel cozy and comfortable. Rachel filled the fridge with food and literally saved me the day I arrived. The shower room was also equipped with luxury shampoo and body wash. The room had a patio, that you can sit and watch the beautiful area. The owner was available to every request, but kept my privacy. There was a big TV with Netflix, a table inside with pillows , and the bed itself was the most comfortable I ever slept on. Just amazing experience.100% would come back again. Nothing

The hostess was very friendly and had provided several groceries for the first day (bread, eggs, jam,...). The room is nicely decorated and comfortable. Everything was super clean. The room was a bit warm and difficult to ventilate due to the midges outside. The kitchenette is only useful for a basic meal. A larger table would be more convenient for breakfast.

The bed was super comfy, shower was amazing and there were lots of little touches like tea, coffee and snacks - just what we needed after a long road trip. The location was great, easy to get to lots of different places around Skye - a short drive into Portree and to the fairy glen, and we enjoyed driving to the Edinbane Inn one evening for dinner which was about 10 mins away. I would highly recommend. A tiny thing but it would have been great to have some kitchen roll as we used the kitchen quite a lot. Otherwise it was perfect!

The room was spacious, clean, cozy and decorated in good taste - you could really tell that thought had gone into details. The small kitchenette was very functional as well as esthetically pleasing. Bathroom was spotlessly clean and shower great. We also both slept really well in the bed, wasn't too soft or hard. We really appreciated the clear instructions for everything, as well as getting to read a bit about the family and the property in the "guest book" found in the room. Rachael was extremely friendly and helpful, but also respected our privacy. We were travelling sans car, and although there was a bit of distance (around 13km) to Portree, we managed very well with local buses as both Rachael and the local bus drivers were super kind and helpful in offering guidance. Would definitely stay here again, even without a car, and will be recommending to family and friends!
