• lisa (10/5): - Superb stay. Location couldn't have been better, in the heart of the historical centre. Clean, very comfortable and all the amenities you need. Only slight negative is that parking is on the outskirts of the old centre so getting bags to the apartment is tricky. That's the trade off between being in the heart of the old town! However, the agent couldn't have done more to help us by arranging parking for us for 3 days in a close by car park and meeting us to help carry the bags. Really couldn't fault that.

Easy to find, easy to get there from nearby parking possibilities via nice park.. What was bit negative about this accomodation was the fact that it is situated more less underground with little natural light and quite cold inside, so it was unable to be heated up despite of air conditioning/heater put on high temperature (we have been there in December).. Also bit neglected as far as services: no cleaning during our stay and no replenishment of tee/coffe/sugar…

Most importantly, the staff, Micaela and Michelangelo himself went out of their way to retrieve my lost luggage from the Brindisi Airport. Towels were a bit thin. Location is superb - so central Breakfast at local cafe good - many good choices. Staff there so lovely The plus is that Mr Micalangelo has a tourist business around corner and offerred us advice and help with booking taxis and assistance if we had a problem Bed comfy -King size - cleaning lady superb - so helful. Quiet location within 2 mins from centre . No meet and greet on arrival it was late and dark had to ring to get key code. Taxi cannot drop off outside as little alleyways - luckily nice lady in street and her son walked us to property. Video sent showing how to get in was helpful - but why not give key code? Safe did not open when we arrived - sorted next day but should have been checked before arrival.Cards left for us to present to Cafe for breakfast but no name of cafe on them . Room was definitely not the one I booked . Explanation was it was probably already booked? I booked in Feb for arrival in October? They only have 2 rooms and both were available. Was this booking.com error or theirs Overall did not spoil our stay and Mr Michelangelo and his staff were very charming.

However, we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the tour of Lece and the Jewish museum. Michelangelo is a remarkable man. We dined at Miros (recommended by Michelangelo) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. • Leanne (10/5): Fabulous apartment in a great location - Fabulous apartment in the heart of beautiful Lecce's Old Town. The check-in process at the local tourist outlet was seamless with the English speaking staff providing us with a warm welcome and information on Lecce. This is where we met Michelangelo our amazing host (he was very responsive prior to our arrival providing us with detailed info regarding our parking arrangements which are located a short walk from the accommodation). He provided us with cold drinks and provided us with a bunch of useful information on our surrounds (including details of the local beach including access to sunbeds/umbrella at the beach club). He led us to the B&B...wow!...beautiful accommodation, comfortable king size bed, kitchenette, modern bathroom and private terrace (the complimentary bottle of Primitivo wine was a nice touch). Included in our accommodation was a marvellous walking tour and breakfast at a nearby restaurant, Miro - this was so good we even dined here for a lunch and dinner - fab food & service!

Michelangelo and his team made us feel extremely welcome. He is very personable and warm. We took the offer for beach access at this private beach club at San Cataldo and enjoyed the afternoon. Do bring your own beach towels if you decide to do that or you can purchase at the beach club. Breakfast was offered at a close by restaurant and it was fantastic. He is a genius ,kind, generous, helpful, intellectual, cultured interesting to interact with refined man. His wife and each member of his staff are excellent an go beyond what we expected. Michelangelo used his creative intelligence to produce the perfect blend of preserving the integrity of the architecture and history of his B and B coordinated with all modern conveniences updated features. You enter and feel the warmth and beauty surprised by the size and the pretty out of doors patio. the furnishings and decorative touches and the artistic mural by an Israeli artist friend of Michelangelo's all add to the feeling of being in a lavish yet comfortable spacious apartment. My answer to any question you might have is "it is outstanding" be it the atmosphere, location eye appeal. It is a m memorable experience to meet Michelangelo and to stay in his B and B Oh yes the breakfast part of B and B is delicious and gourmet in a pretty cafe dining in or out of doors. • Nancy (10/5): Lecce was one of the highlights of our trip. Michelangelo B & B was a great find - The host, Michelangelo, was so kind and helpful. He helped us bring our luggage 700+ metres from the parking on his electric scooter. He offered us a free walking tour of the city. The apartment was immaculate, the bed very comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, there was plenty of room to spread out and store bags. The breakfast at the cafe, which was included, had many choices and was very good. Eating at that cafe for lunches or dinners provided a 20% discount, which we used a few times. The location was exceptional with beauty everywhere. The apartment is in a 600 year old building and is graciously designed. Lecce is a truly beautiful city. Parking was secure and not too far away. I wish it had had a washing machine.

The owner was very helpful. A complimentary bottle of wine was most welcome on arrival. A free voucher for the Lecce walking tour was also provided to us. (Value 15 euro). A great tour. In winter a few restaurants were closed. This is to be expected. The old part of town is closed to cars. So you need to walk from your parking area. It is a flat level walk.
• Stephen (10/5): Hard to beat - Lecce is a wonderful place to visit and so is this accomodation.From the start we were well looked after with our host helping in many ways from transport to recommendations about dining concluding with an informative tour of the major historical sights.The accomodation is high quality and serviced every day.It has a decent sized shower which is a bonus.Location is hard to beat and the included breakfast was hearty.All up, this accom. deserves a podium finish in our five weeks abroad. This happens in quite a number of places in Italy - when you leave with your entry card this shuts down the power and you cannot charge devices while away.I suggest that a dedicated power point or all of them to remain live when card is extracted would be an improvement.I understand and agree with the need to conserve energy but devices don’t draw much and given many travellers have an average of two devices each, it does require managing

• Leandra (9/5): Perfect place to stay for a weekend in Lecce. - Spacious apartment with good storage. Kitchenette well-equipped with basics. Good-sized bathroom with great water pressure. Bed comfortable. Host left half bottle of rosé (lovely touch) and offered us free spots on Saturday walking tour - bonus! Unexpected tidy-up mid-stay was appreciated and included breakfast was ample. Helped us with a car park reservation and a restaurant reservation during our stay. Minor issues: squeaky bathroom door and occasional mosquitos.

• Jenny (8/5): Lovely room with all you need for a short stay in Lecce old town. - Good sized room with all you need for a sightseeing trip to the old town Lecce. Perfect position and amenities. Breakfast was lovely around the corner in a friendly cafe. Parking (at a cost)was kindly arranged for us a short distance from the accommodation.

• Lenny (10/5): A wonderful apartment in the center of a beautiful town of Lecce. - The apartment is in the center of the historic Lecce within 5-10 minutes’ distance of all famous sightseeing in the city. We had a one-bedroom apartment with a beautifully decorated living room, fully equipped kitchen and outdoor patio. The rooms were perfectly clean. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was served in a cafe 2 minutes from our apartment. We even got a complimentary city tour with an infoTab agency which was very interesting and informative. Nothing

• Nancy (10/5): Lovely room in the old quarter which I would recommend ! - The room, Noah, was very nice, clean and large enough for luggage and ease of walking around. Pretty niche with lighting and nice Italian tile bathroom. The location was on a quiet residential back street near Church of Santa Croce. The check in at Umberto I is a travel agency, tour operator directly across from Santa Croce. We had a lovely young woman guide us to our room around the corner. We had a hard time finding the check in with our cell phone, but possibly easier to locate if the extra information of check in being tour agency opposite Church of Santa Croce was given in advance. Breakfast was served at a nearby restaurant called Miro. They offered eggs, toast, bacon, cheese, croissants and assorted drinks. We enjoyed the English speaking tour of the city as well offered by the travel agency. I think the only thing that was hard was finding the check in. Take just what you need for your stay as rolling lots of luggage is hard on the old streets and it’s quite a distance if you’re not sure of where you are going. Once we learned our way around, it did not seem so difficult. It is a bed and breakfast but it is not self contained in one location. At least our room was not in a typical bed and breakfast situation.

• Amanda (10/5): Absolutely amazing- will definitely stay here again - This property was absolutely outstanding. Spotlessly clean. Ladies did a great job daily of cleaning room too. Mr Michelangelo was such a wonderful host together with his team one of whom stood out - Michaela. We can’t thank you enough for your amazing hospitality. Nothing was ever too much to ask. The unit is so very central in the old city and close to many restaurants. If you’re visiting Lecce you absolutely must stay in the old city. If driving you’re not able to drive in to the old city but there is very convenient parking just outside the walls and the staff can arrange to book a slot for you. Also request in advance for a pickup with bags and they will gladly accommodate. Could not fault them at anything. Everything was perfect.
