Guest Reviews
- Florence (9/5): Peaceful and secluded - Staff was exceptionally the place is beautiful and peaceful- pretty views to wake up to and the food was great! The location - it’s great for a couples get away but for younger crowds it’s a bit far from the mainland if your goal is to explore. It can be a lot traveling on a golf cart, especially in the dark it takes roughly 20-30 minutes depending on how far you’re coming from in the city and the road isn’t paved. The lake there is swim at your own risk, due to spotted crocodiles.
- Atlantice (10/5): This place feels like a second home - Clean property very friendly staff I like the remote location
- MICHEL (9/5): - Emplacement loin de la ville donc plus calme et facile d'accès en golfette.
La baignoire dans la chambre Tub ainsi que le cocktail de bienvenue. Choix du petit déjeuner inclus dans la prestation, restreint.
- Naneshka (2/5): Do NOT book with this Hotel - The view When I got in my room I noticed a number of issues. No privacy in the shower. The people saying next door can see your breast if looking up in the window. There was only one clean towel. There was holes in the towels and bedding. They did not clean fully. The toilet was yellow and they left the dirty yellow toilet bowl cleaner next to the toilet. One of the works basically scammed me, but rectified the issue. The food is tasteless and others complained as well! For the breakfast menu, majority of the items were not available. Someone unlocked my door and tried to come in my room while I was napping! When I asked the property about the distance from the water taxi they did not respond until I actually arrived on the island and I’m sure there’s reasoning behind that! It’s at the very end and it’s past everything and there is no street lights or anything in that area. I paid $803 for 3 days and expected the room to be up to par along with everything else. I asked for a partial refund and the property refused! Do not book with the run down hotel

- Jordan (8/5): Peaceful location with friendly staff - This was a very private, calm location with lovely, accommodating staff. The boat bar was very fun as well and has cool history! Because it's small, staff is definitely very eager to be of help. I actually feel as someone traveling alone, while this location was safe and comfortable, it was very isolated and I almost felt uncomfortable to not have more people around to just relax and not have too much attention given to just a few people. The "beach" that the property on was also not really a swimmable location, which was unfortunate as I expected to be able to swim here as if it was ocean. I felt the cost all in all was high for the quality of the facilities and the isolated location requiring a far drive to other areas
- Ricardo (10/5): - La atención de todo el servicio fue excelente, la cama, la habitación, las vistas...
- Tim (9/5): I would definitely stay here again! - The staff was amazing! Very helpful and accommodating. Nothing
- Angelina (9/5): Great place to have a relaxed time - The place is amazing if you want to enjoy a quiet time at the beach without many people. The staff were super friendly and did a great job. The room was very clean and well decorated.
As another reviewer mentioned, it is definitely only the right place for people who are specifically looking for a remote location. If you want to try new restaurants every day and do many excursions, this may not be the right place for you. By car, it is about 20–30 minutes from San Pedro city center. My only criticism concerns the restaurant prices: they are well above average for Belize. Since the hotel is remote, you don’t really have an alternative but to accept them. Nevertheless, I don’t think USD 11 for a latte macchiato is appropriate.
- Cynthia (10/5): La spa room juste wow un séjour confortable et une belle vue sur l’eau. - La propriétaire était super accueillante le staff super gentil et la bouffe super bonne. Rien à part un peu venteux.
- Angelica (10/5): Amazing stat just the distance - The staff was amazing and super helpful! They even added a little something for my birthday celebration It was kind of far from in town where everything is
- Victor (9/5): - Very friendly staff and nice rooms. The location was far from town.
- Michal (10/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): - The staff was amazing. The owner wonderful. We loved Sebastian, the cooks, the person who took care of our room. All excellent! Vicky was fabulous! Zero
- Theresa (10/5): Beautiful views, Purple Sharks and a Belizean Breakfast! 💜💯✨ - The property was a great boutique hotel on the island of San Pedro! Upon arrival we were greeted, provided a cool eucalyptus towel to serenade our senses and open our hearts to what would be our home for the next four days. We sipped on a refreshing, cool lime 🍋🟩 drink Andre the staff. Josh, Karna, Sebastian, Vicky and the three additional members, morning chef, late night dinner server/ bartender, and property manager, Omgoodness all memorable and absolutely nothing short of amazing! The hotel offers an authentic experience with a unique atmosphere for a full body massage on the beach, two separate dining areas, great bartenders and a wonderful lounge area and pool to relax and enjoy your neighbors, from all over the world.
The best part was that, no matter where you came from, once you were here, you were family and you were loved. Culturally, it was great to be on one accord and in unison, seeking only rest, refuge and relaxation but leaving with a sense of peace, belonging to and unity amongst all of us, in this beautiful country of Belize. Truly an amazing experience. I will be back sooner than later. One thing that spoke volumes about the experience was that on our first night, upon arrival we had been advised to contact a local guy for golf cart rentals, which were to be cheaper than the hotel, however we were fortunate enough to have Josh, check with the safety features, lights, gas levels, insurance and taxes etc, and thankfully he looked out for us.
It was a great relief, knowing that in the evening later on in the trip, that 2/3full gas tank, both headlamps working and shining brightly, along with an over view of the need to know as it pertained to traveling on the roads and through the large puddles of water from the recent rainy days. All of this would come in handy as we were traveling back, after a full day out at Secret Beach 🏖️ on the opposite side of the island and worth every bit of the trip. Beautiful people, music and great vibes! N/A
Everything was love!! Ask about the, Purple Shark.
Tell them, Theresa said, go ahead and make it a double, you won’t regret it! 🤩
- Marlan (10/5): -
- Rita (9/5): Absolutely amazing - The staff, hospitality and food Location
- Marilyn (10/5): Can’t make it shorter than it was an excellent suclued location and hotel with all your needs - The hospitality of the staff, communication ,the one on one attention they give guests, The chefs cooking skills creative she make sure your needs are met before preparing meals and serving. The rooftop dining/grilling excellence atmosphere will view over looking that lovely Caribbean Sea
- paula andrea (10/5): - La tranquilidad, atención, confort, las habitaciones
El personal es muy atento y amable, nos sentimos muy bien atendidos, un lugar para volver Las vías de acceso terrestre
- chris (10/5): - My recent stay at Playa de Sala was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The service was exceptional across the board.
Princess and Ange at the bar were incredible—friendly, attentive, and always ready with creative drink suggestions. I never had to wait for a drink, and their mixology ideas made every evening special.
The kitchen team was equally outstanding. Karna and Melissa prepared everything to perfection, from the mouthwatering surf and turf to the crispy shrimp tempura and the delicious breakfast served every morning. Every meal felt like it was crafted with care.
My room was spotless every day thanks to Ellia , who not only kept everything perfectly clean but also checked in to make sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay.
Playa de Sala is the ideal place for a relaxing, memorable vacation. I’m already looking forward to returning!
- jared (10/5): - The hotel was fantastic if you are looking for secluded and peaceful. The chefs were amazing, the blackened catch of the day and watermelon salad were the best. If you are going to stay here you need to rent a golf cart, it’s about 25 minutes to town on a bumpy road. Staff was great, food was great, only downside was the distance from town which I didn’t realize would take so long.
- Matt (10/5): Awesome Place! - We always love our stay at Playa De Sala! Super quiet, clean and friendly.
- Erykah (10/5): - The staff were amazing !! Can’t wait to come back. They were extremely helpful and felt like family!
- Carlos (10/5): - Absolutely fantastic place to stay! The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered the perfect mix of comfort and privacy ideal for couples looking for a relaxing getaway. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. And the on-site bar? A hidden gem with great vibes and drinks to match. Highly, highly recommend this spotyou won’t be disappointed!
- Joseegas (8/5): -
- Iris (8/5): Great boutique hotel on the water! - Comfortable king bed, amenities- coffee maker, hot water kettle for tea, ice, filtered water- large room with beautiful views. Great spa type of shower. Location was a bit far from San Pedro (5 miles) via a very bumpy road on a golf cart
- Michael Derrick (10/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful
- Alessandra (8/5): Full 10/10 to the staff - 10 to the staff, especially Melissa, giving us lot of advices on what to do. And also thanks to Joshua, the Manager, for making our stay perfect.
- Nevil (10/5): - This property was very well maintained, the staff was extremely accommodating and welcoming and helped a lot as first time visitors to Belize. Princess was especially helpful as we spent a lot of time at the Jammin Boat and she gave amazing recommendations for the trip, she made our week long stay feel like home. The food there was delicious, the drinks also super good, and the hotel had a beautiful beach and complimentary kayaks for us to use which was super fun. I appreciated their strong wifi and the easy AC system as it was pretty warm during our stay. Overall a 10/10, we will definitely be staying again!
- Brandon (10/5): - Staff were amazing and friendly. Property is about 20-25 mins from town but there are restaurants between town and the hotel. The area is quiet and safe.
- Raven (4/5): - The property does not provide adequate housekeeping.
- Devi (10/5): Absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait to return! - I cannot be more grateful to everyone at Playa De Sala! The location is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The food is so lovely and the rooms were clean and so unique. Most importantly, the staff were amazing. I’ve made some friends for life! A huge huge shoutout to Melissa, Princess, Jacob and Shawn who made my stay unforgettable and helped me through getting my lost luggage, taking me into town and making my stay so comfortable. Thank you for everything and I can’t wait to be back.
- Jerome (8/5): - Melissa and Princess were so sweet. Lovely ppl.
- Jerome (10/5): - The atmosphere very romantic, the staff created the perfect ambiance and was available 24/7. The view was spectacular. Minutes away from town by golf cart. Islanders were very friendly. Local cuisine was mouthwatering. Definitely going back!!
- Leah (10/5): Home away from home - I loved it just like home. Sean , Princess , , ,Karna , Mellissa and Josh were all a pleasure.
- Brooke (8/5): Very good -
- Danielle (10/5): - The property was beautiful! Staff was amazing helpful on things to do in San Pedro! Even met the owner super nice and welcoming!
- Nardeva (10/5): - Very nice place and great service
- Deborah (10/5): It’s a wonderful place to stay for adults only. The rooms were all unique and beautiful and the food was excellent as we - It was right on the water front with beautiful views from the well appointed rooms. I can’t really say anything bad about the property or the staff who were all accommodating and friendly.
- Kiana (9/5): Superb -
- Cory (10/5): - This place was amazing. It is a little off the beaten path but the staff, food, drinks and peacefulness was certainly worth the trip. I'm certainly thinking about booking again for our next trip.
- Matthew (10/5): - Awesome property in peaceful quiet area. Truly an enjoyable experience.
The staff are excellent and extremely helpful.
- Roscoe W. (8/5): - The hotel was really nice in a secluded area, but it was a little far away from everything else. As nice as the room was it could’ve used a bigger TV. The whole staff was really nice and professional. The hotel food was a little overpriced in comparison to the size portions but overall, I definitely enjoyed my stay.
- Franconi (9/5): Beautiful hotel and surroundings, would recommend - A little further from the town but amazing hotel, friendly staff and great food. Woke up to sunrise and the small beach from my room every morning. The room was superb, comfortable, modern and there is no noise around. Would recommend! Just a little further from town for my work trip but was worth the distance !
- Alejandra (9/5): Great place to disconnect - It’s a perfect place to escape the stress, with no noise, few people, peace and calm. Everything was good
- Tosin (9/5): Tucked away and luxurious - This property is located on the south part of the island, so if you are into the party scene….the strip with all the restaurants and being close to the action… You probably won’t like this property because it is super Quiet and out of the way. It’s about a good 20 to 30 minute ride on a golf cart and as you get closer if you are riding at night it is pretty dark. That made looking at the stars 1000x better. However, there was no point to where we felt unsafe. The staff is super nice and welcoming and also very helpful. You have access to sunscreen and bug spray if you do need that. The restaurant has amazing views and the food is really excellent. This is perfect for a couple who is looking for more laid-back vacation, but you still have access to make your way around the island should you want to make your way to secret beach, or explore some of the beach bars. Nothing to not like.
- Diana (10/5): Will definitely return! - Staff was awesome. We all went out 😎
- Rick (10/5): - It's a wonderful place with a great owner and a great staff, but it's a rough ride to get here and there are no other restaurants nearby.
- Jackson (10/5): We enjoyed the time we spent there - The staff was great The location was not so good. Roads are very bad
- James (10/5): - Immediately greeted upon arrival. Friendly, helpful staff. 10 out of 10.
- Chance (9/5): Superb -
- Eric (10/5): - We loved staying at Playa De Sala the staff was amazing and we can’t wait to go back this year. The restaurant has some of the best food on the Island and the staff is extremely helpful and kind. Raffee In particular was a pleasure to work with as I enjoyed fishing in the mornings off of the kayaks provided at the resort, while kayaks are a bit dated he was more than accommodating to make sure the kayak was ready to go for my early morning fishing adventures in Tarpon bay before the wife awake from her well deserved rest. I always caught fish in the morning and enjoyed the physical excercise of paddling around the bay. Can’t wait to return to see our friends and enjoy the tranquility and exquisite food. It’s at the end of the island so a golf cart is paramount to getting around, plus it’s a hoot to visit other locations on the island with your own golf cart. Would highly recommend as we are no returning visitors San Pedro and the Playa De Sala resort.
- Sonya (10/5): It rained most of my vacation but the hotel with its views and staff made up for it! - Beautiful location, lovely staff, and great owner. I would stay here again. The food was costly, the location was very far by golf cart (method of travel), the main roads were horrible potholes everywhere.
- Dunston (7/5): Can’t change the location, but a few improvements will go a long way. - I like the vibe of the resort. It was clean and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked that it was right on the water with a private beach. Although the hotel is nice, the location is a little too far out from activities. The food was very mediocre and bland. The Internet (or lack thereof) was very lackluster. The property was advertised as “all inclusive “ which it definitely is not.
- Natasha (8/5): Very good - Private, quiet, good food, amazing customer service It’s advertised as a swingers/nude hotel. Definitely is not, although private definitely not nude. No one to swing with. Also, extremely far from literally everything once the kitchen is closed there’s nothing! If you have a “bad back” definitely shouldn’t stay, the distance on golf cart with no pavement is a looooooong distance.
- PAULA A (10/5): - Loved staying at Playa de Sala - staff was wonderful
Hotel lovely - secluded but safe area
- Lynnette (10/5): Beautiful resort, beautiful location , nicest host I have ever encountered! - The property was beautiful and very accommodating to all our needs . The staff went out of their way to help us . The room was great and they even had it decorated for my Birthday including champagne ! Forest and her staff are the nicest people and she makes you feel like family . The resort has art work of her parents who were professional painters inside and out .The place is unique. Far away from town to be private and a quiet retreat . The food is excellent , one of my favorite resorts . We will be back ! The cleanliness and all the unique art work The private pool was right outside are room Beautiful restaurant on the roof Outstanding food
- Tyili (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marissa (10/5): Absolute perfection! - The staff were amazing, and made us feel like home (but better). Rooms were incredible - the best bed I’ve slept on in my life! It was quiet and the beach was peaceful, food and drinks were so great. Amazing value! A bit far from the town centre on some bumpy roads. But we managed!
- Corey (10/5): Playa de Sala is an excellent hotel in San Pedro, if you can’t stay there, come for the drinks and food. - I loved this property and the staff! Everyone was friendly and treated me very well. I was able to meet the owner who was very personable and will forever have a lasting impression on me. What she has done with this property has created a space where everyone is treated like family and more businesses she operate like hers. I loved everything about this place.
- Gloria (8/5): - The staff is sooooo amazing!! They are the best part of this stay!! The beach and water is not what you come to Belize for. The node if transportation on the island is golf carts and with that being said, the flooding and dirt roads to get there is awful!! We went through 2 golf carts. I wish we could move the staff and the hotel onto the pavement and beach side!
- Celeste (6/5): Could be better - Our stay was good. Melissa was a great host even though that was not her job but she made us feel welcome and assisted us in what we needed. Jeremy and Sam were great and very attentive. The so called property manager I think his name was Brandon was ok need more training. Now the real kicker the owner was on site didn’t acknowledge herself as such talk to us and didn’t ask how our stay and we were really the only guest at the resort. It could be better.
- LOUIS (4/5): - The staff was great and the rooms were nice, but the location is so far from where you want to be and the “beach” is not great- crunchy shells and murky water. Should have stayed closer to the city.
- Ronald (9/5): Superb -
- Chris Mary (10/5): - Remote part of town but super clean and friendly staff.
- Paris (8/5): Great Stay - The food was delicious. Very private and secluded. Rooms are very nice and have there own touch. I would consider if you want to go to San Pedro city often or secret beach. On golf cart, secret beach is 1 1/2 hr away. I wouldn't be out late because hotel isnt near other places so you do not want to be on a dark road for an hour.
- James (6/5): - Loved this place. But the roads need work. And there needs to be a real manager onsite each day. There was no manager Sat or Sun. They need TV access. The staff - hotel, bar, and housekeeping - are excellent!
- Mabel (1/5): Extremly disappointing. I had to leave to another hotel - I did not like the property. The swimming pool, the beach and amenities were a joke and they look nothing like the pictures That does not provide amenities according to the rating provided by Booking.com. The location is terrible and in the middle of nowhere and an area it does not look clean or safe
- Rosemary (6/5): - The property was unique. The rooms are bigger than the website suggests and the showers are great. The decor is some rooms is rather dull with too much grey on top of all of the concrete. The little kitchenette and abundant towels were apprecaited. I twould have been nice to be provided with a small broom given all the sand that was inevitably tracked into the room. The common areas are limited, uncomfortable stools and swings at the breakfast and lunch bars and mostly outdoors which was uncomfortable given the wind, the bugs, and the cool weather while we were there. The upstairs rooftoop was great for dinner but also poorly lit, buggy, and windy. The menu choices were excellent and the cook would easily add or substitute ingredients which we appreciated. Dinner was great both nights we were there. There are a few good restaurants between the resort and the overpriced town of San Pedro. Black Orchid and Mahogony Bay are nice options. You pretty much have to rent a noisy golf cart to get anywhere from this property which is miles from the noisy, dangerous and dirty town of San Pedro (pedestrians beware; there are no sidewalks and the noise is infernal). The whole area of Isla Bonita is full of garbage and debris spoiling the landscape. The staff at the property were lovely, they did laundrey for us, made suggestions, etc. We thank them.
- Jessica (2/5): It was a dysfunctional stay with many issues - we did not leave feeling it was a vacation but a headache . - It was modern and the cooks in the kitchen, bar tender, and the handyman were wonderful people. However, we encountered a series of very unfortunate events during our stay. 1. Our room flooded in the middle of the night due to a failed plumbing fitting. The handyman, at the direction of the owner, was fast to help us mop up the water and he fixed it in the morning, again he was outstanding and kind.
2. Requested feather free linens and pillows- major allergy, I broke out in hives on my neck - something had feathers, and I feel they did not take my allergy seriously.
3. I booked a tour through the hotel- Upon arrival nobody knew about it and we had to wait for 2 hours for a family favorite tour operator to come to the hotel to help us rebook. We were told cash was the only method accepted. This was not luxury .
4. Hotel management issues with administration, check-in, and staff conflicts starting with both the manager and bartender being let-go but later returning and our prior correspondence regarding tours and arrival being lost. I don’t feel guests should be informed of internal staffing strife or conflicts.
5. Overpriced.
6. We were not asked if our clothes were soaked, nothing - we did not move rooms, it was truly not a luxury hotel.
The folks working in the kitchen - they were so nice and the food was very good. The Handyman saved us during the room being flooded. He was amazing and worked so hard, even filling-in as a cook when needed.
Overall - it was not a good experience- at a “luxury” hotel .
The drive is very long to the hotel via golf club. It is very very dark with massive pot holes in the road. It took us 30-45 mins to get into town via a golf cart.
- Tasha (8/5): - Everyone very nice and made sure you where taken care of.. Big up’s to the entire staff❤️
- Kevin (10/5): - We loved our stay and the people were friendly and pleasant. We will be back.
- Elizabeth (9/5): A gorgeous beach hideaway - What a beautiful hotel and amazing staff. I highly recommend it! From the moment you arrive, they learn your name and make sure to take care of anything you need. The beds are amazing and the rooms are super comfortable. As there are only five rooms, it was pretty quiet, but with as much drinks, fun and good as you wanted to add. We spent an entire day just drifting from the pool, to our deck, to the bar and back. Lovely! We had the red curry with shrimp and it was amazing. The chicken pieces were also delicious. On the other hand, we had the fresh fish for dinner and each had two of the sides, trying four of them and the sides were just so-so. It's also a 20- minute golf cart ride from town, so it's nice to be in the quiet beauty, but takes a bit to get into town.
- DANIEL (10/5): - The hotel room was very comfortable and very clean. The entire staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent and the beach on the property was beautiful and clean… a uniquely enjoyable experience.
- Reginald (10/5): Ultimate relaxation. - The staff was exceptional. Wonderful attitudes, eager to assist and have friendly conversations. Very genuine.
- Kim (6/5): - The property was in a very quiet area. The staff was beyond amazing and friendly. I would have preferred to be a little closer to town personally. The pool is very small and halfway under the shade. The website makes it look a lot bigger so it is deceiving. The continental breakfast that was included only consisted of a plate of scrambled eggs with a piece of toast and a few pieces of fruit along with one cup of tea or coffee. If you wanted more tea or coffee they charged you. The water isn’t swimmable. It is dark and murky. The room we were in (Wood Room) was tiny and the toilet wasn’t private. It was inside a wooden framed area that didn’t go all the way to the ceiling so you had no privacy at all. Melvin, Julie and Nathaniel were amazing and so helpful during our stay.
- Teresa (10/5): Visit Playa De Sala - We absolutely loved the location of the property.. The property was amazing , the rooms were amazing, and the staff was the best. They greeted us with open arms the entire time of our stay. The food and beverage was really great. I would definitely recommend Playa De Sala
- Dulce (10/5): - Property was very nice and quiet, staff is very accommodating. Only inconvenience is it’s very far out. Loved it.
- Towfik (9/5): Superb - the staff was amazing, especially Julz she went above and beyond to make sure our vacay was exceptional! cannot thank her enough along with the othe staff members. it’s 30 mins from most of the restaurants
- Tina (4/5): - I'd like to start off by saying the food was delicious and the staff was friendly. However, the first night we were without tv because it didn't work. That was taken care of the next day. We wanted to use the infinity pool but were told it was broken. Then we wanted to use the kayaks but they didn't have life jackets. The reason we chose this hotel was the infinity pool and the free use of kayaks. Also, they started construction on an outside bar. We were awakened around 7 am to hammering, sawing and loud talking. Lastly, the pictures on the website are deceiving. This property didn't look as beautiful as we were expecting. We will definitely return to Belize because we did enjoy everything away from this hotel, but we will not stay here again.
- Charlie (10/5): recommend to anyone to stay. definitely need transport to get about to and from town if your keen on diving. but you cou - fabulous boutique hotel. very peaceful place with amazing staff super friendly.
only 5 rooms and we felt we were the only people there!
- Zoe (10/5): - Property management is very involved and wants to make your experience special. They do an excellent job arranging private tours and accommodating whatever it is you’re interested in doing. Food is great. It’s far from the main shops and restaurants but we rented a golf cart (you need to to get around the island anyway) and it was so nice to be away from the noise and crowd.
- Connor (10/5): - Stop looking, and just book your stay here! Playa de Sala was the perfect stay for our long weekend. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful the views and privacy are unmatched.
- Isaac (10/5): - Property is beautiful and staff is very attentive. Would defiantly go back.
- Richard (10/5): A Must Stay - Fabulous experience all around. Beautiful location, impeccable service, delicious food and friendly staff made this a hotel not to miss. Thank you Forest!!
- brenda (10/5): - Staff go far and beyond to make you happy and comfortable the chefs are amazing All staff are exceptional Absolutely a must stay
- Tiffany (10/5): - 10/10 would recommend this place. Come here if you want true serenity and peace. It is stunning, quiet, accommodating & has hands down the best food and drink in the entire area. We couldn’t be happier with our stay here. The staff was incredible, so friendly…. One of the best parts was getting to know them and building friendships & sharing stories. Our chef Jose was meticulous and incredible to watch cook. He was so fun to visit with! Forest who owns this property has built an extraordinary experience and a true family here with her staff and it was an honor to stay at her place. The art all around the property was also done by her dad which is really amazing to see. Forest lined us up with a boat excursion that picked us up right from the dock, our captain Luis was fantastic, he took us snorkeling, fishing, shark swimming & then to a beach where he cooked us up lunch. He made sure everyone was comfortable at all times, pointed out islands and their names, all the different fish, he was absolutely amazing & very professional. There is a review on this place about it being for “swingers” which you can disregard, whoever left that bad review was intentionally trying to hurt them & give the place a bad rap. Absurd what people will do to try and hurt a small business. I’m serious, if you want one of the best vacations of your life….. and BONUS: no screaming children around the property!!!!!! …. You need to come here. We will for sure be back again someday.
- Randall J (10/5): - Love it. Private. Excellent staff and the property is awesome
- kevin (10/5): - This was one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. The staff is beyond amazing and incredibly professional and personable which makes further stay even better. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. It was quiet very clean and Forest and her staff are amazing. We would definitely stay here again.
- Bryanna (10/5): - The staff was amazing! And I loved that it was an adult only plus a small resort so it was like having a private beach experience.
- Shannon (10/5): - I cannot recommend Playa de Sala highly enough. It is a beautiful, relaxing, fun, and welcoming place to stay on the island of San Pedro. The cooks, José and Addy are so talented and friendly. José made me and my newly wed husband his special Belizian stew chicken. It was just delicious. We ate nearly every meal here because it was so good and reasonable. The owner, Forest, is approachable, welcoming, and manages the place expertly. The bartender Melvin is a gem. Honestly, Playa de Sala was an oasis and I wish I could go back immediately. Belize is a beautiful and friendly country with delicious cuisine and warm people. The staff at Playa de Sala arranged two magnificent excursions for us - snorkeling one day and Mayan ruins/cave tubing on the mainland for another day. They arranged a golf cart for us when we asked. It was waiting for us with the keys the next day. If I could give this aesthetically pleasing, welcoming, and clean property 10 stars, I would. I should also note that the room was beautifully decorated as a welcome for our honeymoon; it was very special.
- Nina (6/5): - Well was clean a nice hotel only bad thing was that the hotel was on the other side of town but I gues this was my mistake for not checking the exes t location . Very friendly crew and the food was berry good as well . The bar on the roof top was amazing . The beach wasn’t good as all the beaches in San Pedro . It appear the only good beach in the island it’s secret beach . The hotel beach was clean a quiet but lots of sea grass as everywhere except secret beach. I didn’t dig the toilet part and they tried to put some charges on my bill when we ware leaving and I already payed cash for them . Maybe a simple mistake . Over all … depends what you looking for.
- Kevin (10/5): - This property is in an area of the island that is a newer area being built on southern part about 1 mile from downtown but very easily accessible by golfcart. Each of the 5 rooms is very suitable for couples as it is a couples resort very quiet and the staff is top notch absolutely make you feel like your family
- Mercedes (10/5): - Everything was great! From the staff to the owner....just get clear clarification on the golf carts....
- Jamie Lynn (10/5): - Stayed a week and it was amazing. Beautiful hotel, so quiet there. The staff is absolutely fantastic. The staff and owner were so good to us and make you feel at home. You get pampered and they don't let you raise a finger. They want you to relax and enjoy and we did for sure!
- Daniel (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It's a wonderful retreat . Rooms are beautiful and you have access to a semi-private beach, amazing food (try the ceviche), drinks, and kayaks/paddleboards on property. The drive into town is easy via golf cart.
The staff was accommodating and helped coordinate our excursions.
Say hi to Spartacus (the dog) for me. I hope to see him and the staff again.
- Marisa (10/5): - Loved this hotel and all the staff. Had an amazing time, it is further from town but we liked the quietness that came along with that. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to San Pedro.
- Sarah (10/5): - The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful! They were so attentive and made sure we had an enjoyable stay.
The hotel is located in a nice quiet area, and is well maintained. We stayed in the Stone room and it was pretty soundproof and provided more privacy than the other rooms as it was off at the end. The food and drinks were amazing! Especially the ceviche :)
