Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We loved the quirky location & even the older decor. The people were awesome & we felt safe. We stayed in the family suite all the way back to the right. The back bedroom stunk SO bad. Like old dog pee or rank water, I’m not sure, we ended up just closing it up for the extent of our stay & using the other beds. I know the staff knows it stinks because when we arrived all the windows were open to air it out. We dropped our stuff off, closed up & left. When we got back late that night & realized the smell everyone was too exhausted to bother. For the price, it’s what we would expect, minus the smell.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Having a room with 3 beds was incredible for our family of 6. This location was just great. I struggled to feel safe, however, because as we drove in, there were clearly people loitering outside the outdoor accessible rooms (parking next to our room was incredible as we checked in so late!), and 1 of our 2 door locks didn't work. That door lock needs to be fixed!! And then add another one of those bolt things that slide to add extra security. With that change, the facility is just great and the service was exceptional as we checked in late without notice and the receptionist came out of his lodging and helped us anyways. A great stay overall, but I would have asked to change rooms if we had checked in any sooner in the day.
- Chuck (6/5): - A step back in time, but nice and clean. Owned by an independent couple. Would stay again.
- Kelly (2/5): Never again, avoid this place!! - I have NO IDEA how this place has such great reviews. The only reason I stayed here was because the reviews and they were no where near accurate. We got there and there was a note taped to the door saying they were out of town (for the second day in a row apparently, according to the scribbled out part) and there was details in my email for how to get into our room. The "details" were that they left our door UNLOCKED with the key inside. Huge safety concern on our part, we came here as a family for my birthday, it was my husband, our 1 year old daughter and I. We drove down to our room (room 19) and passed one that had a large black tarp covering the carport. We got to our room and the carport idea is nice, but it's a pretty small carport, our 2011 kia sorento was a tight fit, and there was a strip of concrete missing in the middle, so if we were to stand directly behind our car to unload it, we'd have to take a step down. My husband went in first to check to make sure no one was hiding in the room since it had been left unlocked for hours, and then came back out to tell me all was good and we went in all together. First thing I noticed was that the room smelled like cigarette smoke, even though the rooms are supposed to be non smoking. My daughter was ready for her nap so I layed her down on the bed while we looked around. The bed was clean and it itself did not smell like smoke, so that was good. This is the most it will let me type here so I will continue on Google.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Keep insect repellent handy - After my one night stay, I got some bug bites on my forearms and its a worse motel I ever stayed. It was at a good location, but it’s very old and in need of full renovation.
- Melissa (10/5): Clean and friendly - We had the family room which is great for families. It has two bathrooms! Towels and sheets were all clean and stain free. You can tell it is an older place but well kept. We would stay again if we are back in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place is unique and retro looking. I liked that they had carports so you are not sharing any walls to the other rooms. The owners were really nice and welcoming. I will definitely come back and stay again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Air condition was not cooling enough even though you told the owner to fix it.. we supposed to be staying here for 4 days and 3 nights and because of the Aircon’s not giving the right temperature my wife and I decided to leave early at 10 pm instead of sleeping there for our last night.. in fact I’m the one to clean the Aircon’s filter that one causes of not getting cool air inside the room, very disappointed and no good customer service, the drive way wasn’t clean from sand and no free breakfast offered..
- Andrea (6/5): Stagecoach - I booked this room for my brother and his daughter. They said the rooms were clean but really outdated and the bathroom was way to small. Hit her head on the sink when she stood up to wash her hands. The neighborhood was probably the worst area in Colorado Springs.
- michael (8/5): Quaint and quiet - The room was quaint! The bathroom had great character.
- John (10/5): Great Room - My wife was suffering from altitude sickness. We were able to check-in early to a very comfortable room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved that each room has its own carport! And our room had 3 rooms with a bed in each one. That was perfect for our family of five.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The young couple who own and run this older motel are super friendly and are doing a nice job of restoring it with a good balance between modern updates and maintaining original charm. The beds were comfortable, the decor was pleasing, and we appreciated our covered parking spot next to our room very much. Road construction on Nevada Avenue as well as the resulting heavier traffic made egress to the street slightly more involved, but no more imposition than what all drivers turning into or out of businesses on this stretch of Nevada must contend with. And that too shall pass.
- Shaine (6/5): - Place is under Renovations. Room we had was very spacious with 3 beds. The carpet needs changing, the beds need replacing. Ours was sunken in the middle. The sink faucet is stubby. Water pressure is amazing. Place needs some work. I hope the Renovations they do, will clean it up. Place has lots of Potential.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property does not honor Expedia bookings. Looks like we sleep in the car tonight... Thanks a lot!
- Felicia (8/5): Neat motel - When looking for hotels in Colorado Springs one of the main reasons for booking this location was the covered parking. I was very disappointed to find out if you stay in room #28 you will not get a parking bay. However, with that said, the owners were very accommodating in allowing us to park in unoccupied bays during our stay. Our room was super spacious and had everything we needed to make our 3 nights comfortable. The outside area was really nice, the owners have definitely taken a lot of time to make the sitting area a relaxing place for their guests. A bonus for us was all the great food in the area, including a completely gluten free restaurant and bakery 4 miles away. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - One story, block walls. No noise is very good. Remodeling and the carpets need to be changed. The interiors are retro and the original bathrooms are cool and in excellent condition. A few more touches to and we will stay here more often
- Anonymous (4/5): - Carpet was so old and smelly
there was no exhaust fan in the restroom and had some constant smell
Beds were not queen instead they were twins
Room chairs were so old
They have a pet dog along with the cleaning staff who roam in the rooms while the clean staff enters the room which was really uncomfortable
Hotel Rep was helpful for all the queries and guidance
- Edmond (4/5): Work in progress - The photos of the vintage hotel are deceiving on the Hotels.com website. The hotel is going through renovations since newly purchased in January. Although the owners seem like very nice people, I believe they need to pay more attention to the small things that “matter”. For instance, the room smelt very badly and the carpet was filthy (wore my shoes inside), the curtains had cigarette hotel and need a good wash, there was only one towel and no washcloths. Just because a hotel lowly priced, this does not warrant dirty. This little gem of a hotel has great potential and once renovated will be nice place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was cozy with easy chairs and lovely draperies. An electrical problem was dealt with immediately. The owners were friendly and helpful.
