Guest Reviews
- Yana (10/5): 140 year old house - a true gem of Kyoto! - This property is a true gem, it is 140 years old and we instantly felt charmed as we opened the front door. The smell of tatami mats and wood made us feel very cozy and right at home. We had a fantastic time making meals in the kitchen, taking baths, playing games with the kids, riding bikes and falling asleep to the sound of the rain. My personal favorite was the Japanese garden that you could see right out of our bedroom on the ground floor.
We also enjoyed that the house was close to the convenience store, bakery, honor-system jewelry store, and a grocery store. Bus and subway were just a short walk away as well.
Outside the house there is a small playground with a slide that helped us to entertain our toddler.
YululY is a wonderful host and she made sure our stay was comfortable and memorable.
We enjoyed our experience very much and we hope to be back in the future.
- Gianfranco (8/5): Anyway we enjoyed our stay and the house was perfect - -Very clean

- Nikita (10/5): Best place you are lucky to book it! - Best place you are lucky to book it! All good
- Reia (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing traditional Japanese house with modern facilities. What a special gem. Shorties like me have no problem but tall ones watch your head for some low ceiling and beams
- Simone (9/5): Superb -
- Kent (10/5): Excellent traditional Japanese home in a traditional neighborhood! -
- Jaime (10/5): - It was a little cold when we arrived in the property because the heating system wasn't on, but then it was snowing Kyoto. Host was very communicative and instructed us how to turn on the heating system. Overall, it was an amazing experience, we felt comfortable and feel at home. We enjoyed the biking near the river. Location is very convenient to get around top attractions in Kyoto. We will definitely stay again when we go back to Kyoto.
- Jacky (10/5): Nice Japanese house - The house is nice and clean and the owner is very nice and helpful. Will recommend to others who would try to live in a Japanese style home.
- Thomas (10/5): WOW. - The owner picked us up from Kyoto station and drove us to the property, fantastic service! Upon arriving she showed us around and how to 'work' the house. The hosue itself as absolutely beautiful, for being 100+ years old it had a modern feel but at the same time totally quint essential Japanese, which is exactly why we wanted to stay here. We loved our stay here and I can honestly say it made our whole Japan trip. We hope to be back again soon to use the bath tub which warmed us up on a very cold kyoto december. Downstairs was a little cold, but we didn't use it often at all as the main features are on the top floor.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cecelia (9/5): Lovely historic building, with modern amenities for our family - A modern fit out in a old Machiya building, bikes to ride along river, and a tub to soak after a day of exploring. there is little light or sound reduction, which in Autumn was not a big deterrent
- Dennis (10/5): excellent option to stay - host, cleanness nothing
- Yu (10/5): - 環境很棒,設備齊全,服務周到貼心,很適合家庭旅遊慢活~
