Guest Reviews
- Kathleen (10/5): - Lovely stay - apartment incredibly fresh and clean- modern bath and kitchen - was delighted to find a washing machine in the apartment, as well! Staff very kind and helpful!
- john (10/5): - Jorge was on duty when we arrived and was welcoming and informative. Property was unique, clean and central to historic district in Porto
- Andrea (8/5): - Nice place with attractives surroundings and clean apartment. However, the customer service was underwhelming for a 5-star hotel. Staff seemed disinterested and really bad first impression with the front desk staff, which detracted from the overall experience.
- Melia (10/5): - We loved this property. Great location. Very close to everything. Staff had our small children’s bedding all set up. The ladies at breakfast were always so sweet with our children. Highly recommend and would stay here again.
- Lara (10/5): - Interesting hotel, great location, clean, boutique style hotel.
- Nisreen (10/5): - Beautiful
- Lara (10/5): - Would give more stars if possible- loved the location, breakfast, the apartment, and especially the staff. Will always recommend!
- Ashley (10/5): - Favorite stay of the trip! Spacious, clean, large rooms. Front desk was excellent. The cafe in the morning was super cute and delicious.
- Quinton (10/5): - Excellent amenities and staff!
- Cindy (10/5): - This was simply wonderful. The historical background made this a unique stay. The two floor apartment, which included a washer, was very spacious, well-decorated and comfortable. The bathroom was really spacious with lots of hot water. The AC worked really well. The staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of great options to choose from. It was also located in a great area where we were able to walk to a lot of the major sites and attractions.
- Sandra (10/5): - First class service from.everyone we encountered. Friendly, helpful and fun.
- Marius (10/5): - A palace apartment worth staying in! Lovely garden to step out to!
- Matthew (10/5): - This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in Europe. The rooms are extremely spacious with modern amenities and luxurious bathrooms. The kitchen and washing machine were a real plus! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Porto. The location is perfect for seeing the town. Supurb!
- Murray (10/5): - The place was excellent and great location. Breakfast was wonderful and it was of the best highlights. We had to pay extra for our 3 kids but totally worth it!
- Sylvain (8/5): - Well located
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great support and responsiveness from the front desk. Room was spacious and everything worked.
- Spardha (10/5): - Great accommodation, amenities and perfect location.
- David (10/5): - An amazing place to stay to visit Porto. Could not be better located. The 2 bedroom apartment was beautiful, ample space and very well equipped if you went for longer than the 3 nights we did. The staff were brilliant too, could not fault it. Would be nice if there was a bar to relax in at the end of the evening but not a game changer.
- Siew Chin (10/5): - Lovely well located accommodation with extremely helpful, wonderful staff and pre-stay communications. Highly recommended. Made our stay in Porto complete ❤️
- Jason (10/5): - Fabulous property. Apartment was huge and perfect for a family. Very good location. Hotel staff was incredibly helpful and responsive. Their recommendations were great, they made getting reservations for meals and a rental car incredibly easy. Five star service.
- Alan (10/5): - Fantastic property, lots of character in the building but the apartments are well furnished with modern bathrooms and spacious. Great location on the edge of the historic centre and 3 minutes from the famous bridge. Staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful. The continental breakfast was delicious each morning with a good selection plus freshly baked cakes each day. This place is a real gem and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Porto.
- Catherine (10/5): - My father and I had a wonderful stay at Condes de Azevedo. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and the restaurants around the hotel are just fantastic. I actually stayed here last year with my two girlfriends and the place is absolutely stunning. Clean, comfortable and it feels like a real home.We also did a trip to the Druro wine region, which I highly recommend.
Hopefully, I will be back again Monday. Thank you to all the staff who are incredibly kind. A 10 out of 10😀
- karen (10/5): - Beautiful apartment, friendly staff. Central location to metro station and top attractions. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Porto.
- Oscar (10/5): - This property is beautiful. Parking available in the same property. Walk about 2 minutes and have the amazing views from the bridge. On top of that we got a continental breakfast every morning included. 24 hour help at front desk. Can’t beat the price and location of this hotel.
- Sherri (10/5): - The only negative was the breakfast and the cost of it, definitely not worth it.
Also I would tell guests to take a taxi from the Sao Bento station instead of walking uphill with luggage.
- Marcus (10/5): - Great location and apartment was abobe expectations. We stayed comfortable throughout. I would say som parts of apartment had kow hanginging structure so if your tall watch your head
- Kal (6/5): - It was a heritage building and the washrooms were obviously added afterwards ….very very poor water pressure …just a trickle of a shower. They also charged an extra €40 euros for an extra person which I feel was exorbitant.
- Mohamed (10/5): - We loved our stay at Condes de Azevedo Palace. The staff were amazing, the building quite interesting and the apartment perfect for our needs.
The location was also very good for our needs. Very central, easy walking or train to anywhere we needed to go. Also close enough to the river.
Just overall a great experience. We can't wait to go back.
- Jamyeong (10/5): Great - Just great 👍
- ning (10/5): - Nice staff and luxury hotel.
- Cristina (10/5): Best aparthotel I’ve stayed at - Lovely staff, great location, very clean, nice and simple design - loads of space!! Absolutely loved it and will definitely come back.
- Katherine (10/5): - Great place to stay for several people. Location great and was equipped with most needed amenities.
- Christine (10/5): - Wow, such a beautiful and historic hotel. We loved our accommodations, the location cannot be beat. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Pedro spent quite a bit of time with us detailing the different sites in Porto. Thank you, we visited so many places he suggested and had a great time. The breakfast is superb! The made-to-order eggs cooked by the staff were delicious and the fresh fruit, cheese, baked goods, and juices were delightful. Our room was gorgeous with a very comfortable and stylish sofa, unique furniture, cute kitchen, two spacious rooms for our family, and beautiful windows overlooking the city. The only negative was the toilet in the primary suite. It kept running unless you manually lifted the valve into the off position. But besides that, we had a wonderful stay and wish we could have stayed at least two more days. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Porto in the future. Obrigada, ciao Porto!
- Valerie (10/5): - This property was in excellent location. Accomodations were spacious and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and informative.
- Julie (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful place and location.
- james (10/5): - Wonderful apartments with a friendly and accommodating staff. Location was great for getting around sites in Porto. We would stay here again and highly recommend especially if you stay long enough to take advantage of a full kitchen.
- Stuart (10/5): - Superb central location, welcoming & friendly staff, nice touch of a free samples of excellent Port. Highly recommended.
- Joe (10/5): - The best place EVER!
- Chris (10/5): - Excellent location and size of the apartment
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location close to attractions and a beautiful character building. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Only issue was our washer/dryer didn't seem to work properly but otherwise a great stay. Breakfast also had plenty of options.
- Iain (10/5): - The perfect place to stay in Porto. Extremely friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful loft room made this a holiday to remember, fabulous breakfast too! The property is ideally placed to explore Porto, and is easily walkable from the main Metro stations. I highly recommend it!
- ryohei (10/5): - beautiful hotel in old town Porto close to Ponte Luis bridge.
We were traveling in family of 4 but the space of apartment room at this hotel was way more than enough for us.
- Lori (10/5): - This hotel is in the perfect location. Walking distance to everything and close proximity to the Dom Luis bridge. The apartment was a stunning mix of old and new. The original windows and staircase leading up to the second floor was a beautiful nod to the past. We had more than enough room in our apartment. It was two floors with two large bathrooms and bedrooms. Could easily accommodate a family. Just a warning though for you girlies that like to use hair tools - there are no outlets in the bathrooms so you have to do your styling in a main room without a mirror. I guess a small price to pay for staying in a hundreds year old palace!
- lizette (8/5): - Beautiful place, great location and great service. Great breakfasts as well.
- Armando (10/5): - Oporto es una ciudad encantadora y estar ubicados en un palacio la hace mas especial. El servicio es excelente y amigable. Perfecto para un grupo de 3 personas
- Iain Brandon (10/5): - The apartment was large and very well equipped, including an eat-in kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, a living room, bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and a separate powder room. The room was quiet and the hotel was a lovely building and grounds. There was secure parking on-site. The staff were wonderful, welcoming, friendly and professional. I would return here. Highly recommend.
- Shahryar (10/5): Nice hotel and great location - the staff was professional and very friendly - Location was great
- John (10/5): Great stay in the heart of Oporto - The Palace was outstanding- recently renovated, wxcellent staff and a short walk from ALL the key sights in Oporto. Breakfast was also outstanding and creative. Parking on site was also secure. Loved it.
- Ryan (10/5): - Front staff was great!!
- watson (10/5): - Nice convenient location.
- Luis (10/5): Beautiful property with even better staff - The beauty of this hotel was only surpassed by the attention to detail of it’s staff.
Alway willing to go the extra mile to help and make you feel comfortable. 100% recommended!
- Glenn (10/5): - We had an excellent stay. From the time of booking, the staff at the Condes de Azevedo Palace made sure we were looked after. The apartment was a mixture of the old, new and the quirky, which I particularly liked. Front of house were always on hand and happy to offer advice on everything about Porto. The secret garden was a great place to go for a quiet drink. I would highly recommend this beautiful location as the perfect base to explore an amazing city. Would definitely stay again.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - The staff was great, thank you Pedro. If you have a car I would advise paying extra for a space at the hotel. The hotel is centrally located and close to everything. The staff went over the top to make us feel at home.
- Derek (10/5): - Can’t wait to come back. Location location location.
- Valerie (10/5): - Great accomodations and fair service
- Roy (10/5): - The room was so spacious for a family of 5 . Location was very good everything was a walk distance from the hotel. We love your stay.
- Chris (8/5): - Lower room was musty overall ok
- AShley (10/5): Great hotel within walking distance of all sites - Great property that is centrally located. The staff was extremely helpful.
- lyndon (10/5): 5 star - We had a phenomenal room/suite. Ideally located and amazingly kitted out. Thoroughly enjoyed.
- Taher (10/5): - Superb room, staff and location. I highly recommend it
- Earlene (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay! Staff were friendly and our room was spacious!
- Earlene (10/5): - We loved the hotel so much that we extended our stay for an additional week. Staff are excellent and the apartment we were assigned to was fantastic. It has exceeded our expectations! Thank you!
- Gheorghe (6/5): - Big disappointment - after paying a 5* price, many little things were NOT right: from the begining the hotel did not observe my perks ( including FREE BREAKFAST FOR 4 DAYS) etc of my booking; it has a coffee machine in the room but they charge for coffee pods; no room service if you do not specifically ask for it on each day at the reception; best thing on the average brekkie menu was the omelet- if you can wait 30+ minutes ; we got one omelet for two people, after waiting 30 minutes for the ordered two omelets; we booked taxi the day before through the Concierge, "regular taxi ~ 10-12 Euro" for 2 km ride to the train station - to get a big Mercedes van who insisted on E 25 (45' before our train deparrure); depart the hotel under the indolent eyes of the concierge, carrying 5 pieces of luggage down 10 staires, without any offer to help... after a E 5 tip on arrival. SHAME
- Jessica (10/5): - This hotel was so beautiful and amazing. The location was close to everything you need and the staff offered the best service of anywhere I’ve ever traveled. It’s worth the money to stay here.
- Michelle (10/5): Porto Gem!!! - We spent 4 incredible nights at this hotel! We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom suite apartments which was well appointed, clean, and super comfy! It even came with a washing machine which was a major bonus. The location was perfect for walking to most destinations and there was even parking for our rental car, a rare find in the area. The staff was top notch, providing for all possible needs and going above and beyond to help provide food & activity recommendations, and help book reservations at local restaurants. We highly recommend this hotel to any and all and will look forward to staying there again when we visit Porto!
- Nkemjika (10/5): - Beautiful 2 level spacious apartments and excellent customer service - we really enjoyed our stay and the property was also conveniently located. The staff went above and beyond to attend to our family of 5 adults, making great recommendations for places to visit and restaurants! Look forward to coming back one day - will be my first choice in Porto!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dirty and not as pictured - Unfortunately our stay here was not good. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment (the photos were beautiful) but that was not what we received, we received a basement room. The kitchen and second bedroom were on the basement level. The room was completely separate from the entire hotel. Besides the check-in area, we never even went in the hotel. Our room was in a separate entrance right across from where the breakfast opens at 7 AM. The entire view of the apartment was of the basement alcove which was filthy with algae. The second bedroom and bathroom reeked of mildew or mold. We did not feel comfortable going down there and had to keep the door closed the entire time. Because of this, our children had to sleep on the sofa. The whole apartment was dirty with dust and grim. The kitchen floor was original stone and filthy. We asked if there was another room available and we were told they were fully booked and there was nothing they could do. At checkout we found out they did in fact have another room but the staff did not offer it. The manager told us he would make things right for us but we needed to write an email. Nothing has been done. Be weary when booking this hotel as we were told all rooms are different and the photos are just of one room (obviously, the nicest one).
- Robert (10/5): - The suites and the common areas are stunning. We had a 1-bedroom suite, with a large living room (with large windows) and well-equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable.
The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating, and gave us good advice about restaurants and touring around Porto.
- Penelope (10/5): - Lovely accommodation. Staff were helpful and location was very central . Would highly recommend
- Jean (10/5): - This is a lovely place right in the heart of Oporto. But be ready for lots of hills if you plan to visit the river side as it is in the upper part of the city. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations and reservations.
If you can, reserve suite 7. It’s a separate building which was once the old kitchen. It comes complete with exposed brick and historical features such as a water font. It had a full kitchen and washer/dryer which was very useful after several weeks of travel.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathrooms were a good size.
The location is good but parking was a challenge.
I would definitely stay here again if I return to Porto.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Lovely, clean and comfortable apartments. Outstanding staff. And the cream on the top is LOCATION! 5 minutes from Sao Bento, the funicular, Ponte Luis upper deck, metro, Se Catedral and more! After our 3rd stay in Porto (none bad) we will definitely stay here again!
- Victoria (10/5): - Everything was great. Our room was clean and large. But the most memorable thing about this property is the amazing staff! My two year old did not want to leave as the staff were the kindest and most patient with him. Will definitely be back!
- Carlos Y. (10/5): - Beautiful
- Danny (10/5): - It was a very enjoyable stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was well maintained and clean. There was on site parking but most attractions were within walking distances. All in all an ideal place to stay while in Porto.
- Christine (10/5): - Historical building with modern amenities. Wonderful staff and breakfast!
- Bill (10/5): A spectacular spot - Spectacular property in the most ideal location with quick access to the top of the Luis 1st bridge. An Amazingly kind staff who were thoughtful and remarkably helpful throughout our stay. Would highly recommend as the ideal place to stay on anyone’s upcoming visit to Porto.
- Christopher (10/5): - Spacious two story apartment/room with excellent service. Breakfast was an added benefit with lots of selection. They even gave you a cell phone to use for maps and recommendations while out in the town. Very close to everything.
- Gerardo (10/5): - Excellent stay for a family. Diego was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend!!
- Domenick (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much! Lovely, helpful staff. Beautiful accommodations and breakfast and the staff taking care of breakfast were very wonderful!
- Domenick (10/5): - Quiet, quaint, and clean apartments with easy access to get around.
- Christina (10/5): Lovely Palace - We had a lovely stay in this renovated palace. Our room was so nicely done and spacious that it made a very comfortable stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though the palace is on a busy street it was quiet in the room at night. Duarte and other staff were able to assist us whenever we asked for any assistance. It is so close to all the historical sites and the Douro River.
I would definitely stay here again.
- Carlos (10/5): - Ultra friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was very nice too. Great location, easy parking, very walkable.
- Suja (10/5): - The unit is excellent with beautiful rooms and an awesome view. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Also liked the breakfast.
- Edward (10/5): Lovely hotel in a great location. - Great, personable service, at a lovely hotel. Breakfast could not have been nicer and more appreciated. Everyone at the hotel was more than helpful and friendly. A great start to our Portugal vacation.
- Lesli (10/5): - Property was outstanding and the help all went above and beyond! Surpassed all of our expectations!!
- Catherine (10/5): - Beautiful property, close to everything you need to see. The staff is extremely attentive and willing to help with any needs. Highly recommend it
- Alicia (8/5): It was FINE, considering the price - The location was good.... but the place looked much nicer in the photos than it was in person. Don't get me wrong, the VALUE was OK , but it smelled kind of musty and the sound travelled far in this stone building.
- Donald (10/5): - Great service and help
- Tracy (10/5): - Amazing place to stay for a few nights.it had everything we needed as two adult couples
- JEFFREY (10/5): - Exceptional stay! You can stay anywhere but it is rare to find a location with so much character and history. I loved the perfect integration of the old palace with modern style. When I polled my family about their favorite part of our visit to Porto, it was actually the hotel that we enjoyed most! I had a great time chatting about a range of topics with Diogo and Pedro. They were class acts and went out of their way to make my family feel welcome. The recommendations provided exceeded expectations as well.
- Harriet (4/5): - Location is excellent and staff are very friendly. Room was large too
Property is quite shabby. My room had a lot of stains. No ability to double lock the door from the inside which is a concern for safety. Strange gap in the bathroom wall. Worst of all, ALL the doors slam and make such a loud bang. Woke me up multiple times and eventually couldn’t get back to sleep
- Cynthia (10/5): - Excellent location for touring the city. Close to historic sights and good restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our apartment was spacious, clean and stylishly decorated. Parking was a bonus as it is hard to find parking in the city. Highly recommend!
- Sandeep (10/5): Must stay here if visiting Porto - Really good location. Beautiful property - everything you need, they’ve already thought about it. Breakfast included is AWESOME - like having a personal chef basically - sweet gals. Tasty food. This property is literally perfect.
- Lorena (10/5): - We loved everything about this property. We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment and we couldn’t have been happier with the space. It was so spacious and stylish and very comfortable. Also, the staff in the hotel and at breakfast really went above and beyond in making our stay so memorable. The special surprise for my birthday was very touching. We can’t wait to come back someday! Thank your for making our stay in Porto so wonderful!
- Kathleen (10/5): - Excellent staff and central location! Would definitely stay here again!
- yadira (10/5): - Wonderful place and amazing staff, very helpful and accommodating. Great location.
- florence (10/5): Perfect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Everything was very smooth , everyone was very helpful, especially Diego and Marisa with dinner , lunch reservations, landmarks to visit , booking of tours .
We hopefully will return with our whole family soon.
The location was great within walking distance to most sites,
And was concern about noise at first , as it seems in a busy street , but I guess the windows are double panes , and really so quiet.
Just perfect stay overall .
- cambridge (8/5): - The staff was very nice, my room was large, and it is located in a convenient area!
- darrell (10/5): - This was such a unique property! We truly felt like we were living in a palace. The staff were all excellent, especially Marisa at reception! She made us feel so welcome. The breakfast (and breakfast staff) were also very good. Would definitely stay here again.
