I didn’t dislike anything but would have liked to have had some drawers to put clothing in. We booked in to check out hotels in the area because we will be working here for the next couple of months and I wanted to check out this hotel before we decided if this was the hotel we wanted to book for our trips here . The owner Cindy came knocking on our door and asked for the bottle of complimentary wine back that was on the bar with a note addressed for us . We found that very strange because when you book in , it says one bottle of wine included she tried to say it’s for frequent travelers which we are ,we travel for a living for work . She offered us appetizers in exchange for the wine which we agreed upon because we don’t drink . She told her son which we are assuming is her son he was a younger guy to show us the menu and let us chose some appetizers. He looked at me like something was wrong like he didn’t want to deal with me he whispered to his mom which is extremely rude . Yes we just got off of work and well we’re still in our work clothes looking rough . Well they left and nobody even came back to show us anything on any menu . I will never return to this lodge if this was the way you get treated . I also noticed she didn’t knock on anyone else’s door just ours . I was reading the guest book in our room and guests seem to love her . So I don’t understand why I was treated this way acting like I was going to get drunk and party or something off of wine . - Robert (10/5): Wonderful Find! - When planning a trip to the area, primarily to see the mountain village of Helen, Georgia, we decided on to stay a short drive outside of Helen in order to avoid the tourist crowds. The Nacoochee Valley Lodge was a great choice for us. It’s a simple drive out of Helen (about 10 minutes). The property is a completely renovated and updated little motor hotel, and the rooms are very cozily set up along certain themes. We stayed in the Whiskey Suite, which had two rooms, a nice little back deck overlooking a grassy field and trees, and parking right in front of the room. It was so much nicer than staying in a traditional motel, as we had our privacy and comfort. Hotel owner/manager Cindy was super nice, checked on us when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel has an adjacent sports bar/restaurant open Wed-Sun and it’s a very cozy place to eat and drink, with a full bar and Sunday specials! The room had a smart TV with Roku installed, so we could watch our own streaming accounts, and the Internet worked great! Besides the village of Helen, the hotel is also close to Unicoi State Park and several other hiking and outdoor recreation areas.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The suite was absolutely beautifully decorated. Felt like I was in a country home and all the decor was all wood and that style. Everything was neat, clean and appropriate, from linens to furniture. Property outside around the back end is in the process of upgrades, so did not look wonderful, but front area and parking was perfect. We did not really meet the staff and it was not to easy to keep contact directly vs internet that our carrier was battling with.

The owner made sure we were comfortable and happy when we arrived with a text message. The next morning when we were leaving for the day, she introduced herself to make sure we had everything we needed. I was surprised how nice the room was, the pictures didn't do it justice. It was large, and with an area for the bed, dining room and living room and Kitchenet. The restaurant, The Dugout Sports Bar, is next to the lodge which was a bonus. The food, staff and location were perfect. Again, the southern hospitality was endearing and welcoming. We felt at home and slept like babies. Glad we picked Nacoochee Valley Lodge for our trip.

- Nathan (10/5): Wonderful Weekend at Nacoochee Valkey Lodge - We just got back home and unpacked. Now time for a quick recap. What a wonderful stay! The Big Horn suite, with its king and queen beds, were perfect for a family. The room had some great personal touches that accentuated the knotty pine and rancher furnishings. We were very comfortable and weren’t lacking of anything. Cindy is a treasure and looked after us well. As a matter of fact, the entire family were anxious to ensure we had a good stay. And I am glad we had the chance to eat at The Dugout, which is also part of the family business. The attention to quality and service there carries through from the lodge. Also, let me say that staying five miles from Helen was close enough yet away from the crowds. The setting was very peaceful and beautiful. Finally, I can assure we will be back this Fall! Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

Clean towels, loads of parking, quiet location and a back deck! Ot jas a restaurant called the Dugout at the top of parking lot that has great food and you get a discount. Consider this as it is just 6 miles outside of Helen .

The owners were hospitable and quickly responded to our (very few, because almost everything was thought of) requests. It’s a one story-motel, but each room looks like a cabin with light-colored wood paneling. So many things were provided. The property was quiet and clean. The beds were comfortable. And, we were able to get to so many parks, waterfalls, and other destinations easily. It was nice to have a sofa and back porch to relax in. Most definitely recommend to everyone!
- Filiberto (4/5): - it was very cute and looked like a cabin, but the issues that I had was, there was no blind on the front door for privacy. Something bit me all night. I’m not sure if it was fleas or what. To the eye everything looked very clean, but it smelled like dog urine. I tried to use the iron, but when I press the steam button white powder, looking particles fell out onto my clothes. I think it was dried built up starch but not sure. The white sheets had a stain on them which made me want to leave.

The room was perfection as well, very clean and decorated in a cute manner that made me feel like I was at home. A fire pit is on property that we utilized for smores and hotdogs, this was an overall fantastic experience for my sons birthday and I will definitely be staying here again.

- Jason (4/5): Disappointing stay - The lady at Check in was friendly.However that was about the only part we enjoyed from our stay.We had to cut our stay short we were unable to sleep there were noises all night long, persistent noises on the roof,also a sound of dripping water all night long, and you can also hear the cars and trucks driving by because the location is right off the main road..Also it appears that when they swept the floor they just pushed everything under the 2nd bed it was very dirty underneath the 2nd bed.We paid for 2 nights we left after the first night.

- amy (10/5): Will definitely stay here again if in the area. - This place is great. They have added so many little touches to make the room so comfortable. We stayed in the Shenandoah Peace Suite. When we walked in we found mugs with hot chocolate to prepare, and a bottle of wine. There were other drinks available. We definitely used the fridge and the microwave. There were lots of pillows on the beds, and down comforters available. Along with shampoo & conditioner they offered deodorant, hand soap & same scented hand lotion. In the bathroom they have a little heater, so you can make the bathroom toasty pre shower. The restaurant on site is convenient, and everything we ate was very tasty. There were massive storms the day we checked out. They were willing to give us a late check out to let the weather pass by. The customer service was great all around.
- Julie (10/5): - Our suite was exactly what our family needed. We were able to go into town and enjoy different things and come back to the lodge to recharge quickly and safely. The restaurant/bar at the top of the hill had great food and service. I would highly recommend this lodge. We will be returning on our next visit.

It was decorated for Christmas and even had a bottle of wine and cookies with a welcome card waiting for us. The hosts were so accommodating and helpful. The Dugout sports bar that is right next door was just as friendly and the food was delicious. The property is right up the road from Helen, tubing, hiking, horse back riding and a few historic sites as well. My family and I loved our stay and would highly recommend!!

- Linda (10/5): - Had a lovely stay in Big Horn Suite. Itnwas very charming un ita rustic way. Decorated in a warm and cozy fashion. Only anahort drive into Helen, GA to enjoy the town and Oktoberfest. We didn't see any staff members, but got our instructions for entry via text. They were very responsive when we asked for ice.
