• Hannah (9/5): - Wir hatten ein sauberes Doppelzimmer. Das Badezimmer wirkte neu renoviert. Das burmesische Restaurant ist sehr lecker :) Es gab keine Aussicht, da das andere Haus sehr nah dran ist, aber das hat uns nicht gestört.
• Elke (10/5): Pragmatisch, praktisch & cute. - Eine super nette Dame, gut ausgestattet, sauber und eigentlich gab es nichts zu meckern. Besonders für den Preis war es ideal: Wir waren 4 Nächte dort und haben etwa 17 € pro Nacht pro Person gezahlt. Perfekt als Ausgangspunkt für Tagesausflüge (Khao Sok, Similan Islands, …) Die Klimaanlage war direkt aufs Bett gerichtet, was nachts etwas kühl war. Außerdem gab es nur eine Decke zum Teilen, und die Zimmer sind ein wenig hellhörig.

• Sheena (8/5): Affordable and convenient stay - We travelled with 2 adults and 2 kids - a 10 yr old and toddler. KMH was close to the market, taxi bay and street that leads to the beach which was convenient. The lady who checked us in and was present throughout our stay was kind and helpful. Our room was clean. We stayed for 6 nights and were allocated the smaller of the two family rooms. If we had have known there was a smaller family room and a larger one which had a sitting area we would have requested the bigger one prior to arrival.

• Danielle (8/5): - Great location, nice and helpfull owner! You can book a shuttle service to Phuket, krabi or Kao lak for a very good price. Nothing, just know that its not really a hostel. There are only 4 private rooms. I didn't see any other guests in the time i was there. (It was fully booked)
• Sven (6/5): - Die Lage ist gut. Zimmer ist in Ordnung ausgestattet. Sehr früh war es laut im Hostel. Allgemein extrem hellhörig. Ich habe leider sehr wenig schlafen können. Der Abfluss vom Waschbecken war immer verstopft.

Really lovely owner who called me to tell me I’d left my purse (enroute to Bangkok 🙄) so had to come back! Thank you for being so kind. I highly recommend this hostel 🙌 Nothing

Todo lo que haga un traductor facilita mucho la comunicación mas a fondo. Habitaciones impecables, cariño en cada detalle y ducha maravillosa. Hervidor, cafe y agua a disposición. A un paso tienes varios centros de información de lo que sucedió en 2004 si quieres aportar.. y aunq estés muy céntrico la calle es super tranquila. Volveríamos sin duda una y otra vez. • Pauline (8/5): Schöner Unterkunft mit tollem Ausblick - Gute Lage, schöner Ausblick vom Balkon auf die umliegenden Berge, freundliche Gastgeber, ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß vom Meer entfernt, wenige Fußminuten vom Nachtmarkt entfernt. Das Bett war ziemlich hart und ich hatte Ameisen im Zimmer, die auch im Bett krabbelten. Das warme Wasser in der Dusche hat nicht funktioniert. Beides wurde dann von der Gastgeberin behoben, als ich es angesprochen habe.

• Sharon (10/5): Lovely quiet area but easy to walk to shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. Would definitely recommend. - Bright and spotlessly clean. I arrived poorly and the owner has been so kind and caring and helpful. She even accompanied me to the shops as I didn’t feel well.

• Larsen (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and quiet - The owner was really joyful and helpful. The location was quiet but really walkable to the night market and beach. The room was clean, spacious, and private with a private outdoor space. There was free water refill and coffee in the lobby. The bed was a little firm, but not bad at all.
• Hans (10/5): Just perfect! - Everything was beyond perfect! Great location and quiet at night. Very good communication with the owner. Spacious and VERY clean room, good mattress, TV with Netflix and YouTube, sofa, fridge AC. We had room B and it was wonderful! Nice balcony where you can sit in the morning and have breakfast overlooking the Tsunami museum. Friendly family owned place. Very good housekeeping. Facilities downstairs for those who want to prepare their breakfast. Complimentary water, tea and coffee. We rented a scooter for a month in very good condition. Excellent quality/price.
• Tzoof (7/5): Great value for money - It is located in a good area close to the market, but still far from the street so very quiet. Everything was great and new equipped with all the necessary equipment except fridge (there’s a shared one). Owner is super nice but barely speaks English. The only thing bothering was the terrible smell of naphthalene, which you can actually see in the room and looks like someone exaggerated with the amounts making it very unpleasant and dangerous.

Walking distance to 7/11 & cheap eats. Room decent size, super clean, hot water in shower nice after getting drenched during wet season. Friendly staff. Early checkin. Free tea, coffee, water, even some food, in the common area. Large bathroom in front room. Fan & aircon in room, comfy bed. Nothing
• Dorothea (7/5): yes, but... - It was all clean! AC is working, no bedbugs! Perfect if you are there with your partner and able to rent/ drive a scooter. The term hostel is just not true. It is about 4 rooms, for maybe 10 people. She rents scooters for a ok-ish price (a bit high tho), but comunicating with the receptionist (and owner) is a tough thing... no English.

• Laura (10/5): Amazing Khao Lak homestay - I really loved to stay at Mind Home Hostel. The room are big, clean and confortable. The bed is also really confortable. The owner is also amazing, they do not speak perfectly english but we were able to understand each other without any problems :)! She was really helpfull and really caring for their customer. The location is really quite and in few mjnuteywalk you can reach the center of khaolak and the market All amazing

• Alicia (10/5): So nice! - The host and her son are lovely, very helpful and kind. The room is clean and tidy, and the toilet is ok. The location is about 20 minutes walking from the beach, in the quiet side of Khao Lak and next to the Tsunami Museum. There are a couple of bars, and 7-eleven very near. They offer day tours, motorbike rental and laundry service. The only thing was that there was a bit of a weird smell in the toilet and shower, it wouldn't go away during our stay.

• Liza (8/5): Nice place just keep the doors open to the room and air on. - Close to the Market. Interesting set up for a family of 4. The room smelled like sewer. Unfortunately, most hotels in Thailand have an issue with their plumbing which creates gases that rise up and creates a smell in the room. Really uncomfortable.

• Sara (10/5): Peefect stay - The woman at the reception was just as lovely as you can imagine. Her english wasn't great, but she tried really hard and my thai was non existing. So I'm very happy we could still communicate. She made our stay perfect and I had a real great sleep. We enjoyed the morning coffee and she even put a fan in our AC room. It is very close to the night food market and a great experience. We also rented a motorbike from there and booked our next trip from Mind Home. Nothing

• Marlen (9/5): Superb - The staff are always willing to help you no matter what difficulty you might encounter, beds are super comfy and not far from Main Street where bars, restaurants and dive shops are ! There were no other travelers, I guess is not their fault. Khao lat doesn’t seem to be a backpacker destination. Saw mainly families & elderly germans in town. Also, diving season coming to end didn’t help. Hostel is on a dark street, felt uncomfortable on first night, but second got more courage to get back alone. Would’ve liked my private room be cleaned more often. But, other than that is a very good adress to stay at. Thank you so much for everything :).

The location is a bit secluded as a solo female traveler at night it did not feel super safe to walk there by myself. The beds were a bit close to each other.

Beach was a bit farther away, walkable distance but easier with scooter rental Had a decent vibe and a few people hanging around. I imagine the atmosphere will be better as visitors return to pre covid levels

• Nigel (10/5): Quiet but beautiful - Being of a certain age and no longer backpacker I booked a private room and was so happy as it was so comrtable and exceeded my expectations. When I visited it became hot and sultry so that curtailed some of my visits but the locality gave me much and for only 130 b you can ride a taxi down to the beach. In fact I liked Bang Niang beach and sunbeds plus restaurant Nong Prew.
• Alice (8/5): Very good hostel, disappointing staff - It has everything you could dream of a hostel: very comfy beds, very clean, calm environment, nice common areas, good facilities… I was very disappointed with the staff and especially the one on WhatsApp. I needed to go to Koh Tao and they were very not helpful at all. They take ages to reply any question on WhatsApp even when it’s mentioned that they read the message. They provide very little and confusing information, giving you no choice but looking by yourself whereas for Khao Lak there is no information about the transportation online. They clearly didn’t want to help whereas they are selling at their reception some tours and transportation packages so you would think that like in most hostels they are ready to help you. The first time I went to this hostel also, they insisted for me to say at what time I will arrive, which I said, and when I was there (in the afternoon) I had to wait for 45min before the staff comes for the check-in. This time, when I arrived even if I informed that I would be 1 hour late and would arrive at 6:30pm when I arrived the staff was leaving and I never see her again during my stay. Whereas I had said on WhatsApp I still need information for the bus + need absolutely to do a laundry. In a word, go there only if you have already planned your transport and if you don’t need any service from them.

Also helped book transport to other places. Loved the extra touch that they had a cat and a local dog hanging put around the place.❤ Nothing!

• Elisabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Super clean hostel. Staff very friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was that in the dorms, only the lower bunks had curtains, the upper ones didn’t, so you don’t have privacy in your bed, but wasn’t a big issue

The hostel locates in a small quiet alley but just around 100m to the main road and 200m to Bang Niang Market - exactly what I am looking for. The owner and his staff were all very friendly and helpful. Nothing to complain.

I will return :) - - Very friendly and helpful host called Nook - Great location right next to the tsunami museum and the main Bang Niang strip and night market - 10 minute walk to the beach - Quiet location, easy to sleep - Nice size private room with TV and fridge - Nice bathroom with electric shower - Cheap scooter and bicycle rental - Cheap laundry service A lovely stay! I will be back :) Covid and end of rainy season (Nov) meant there were not many other guests staying to socialise with but this is not the properties fault. Now many more tourists will visit so I’m sure it will be a great stay
