Guest Reviews
- Michelle (10/5): The family, food day trips were all fantastic. Loved this honestly! - A beautiful home staying the perfect location to explore the village
- Alícia (10/5): -
- Glazier (9/5): Great authentic and genuine homestay experience - If you’re looking for a genuine homestay this is for you. We had the room with 2 double beds and ensuite with a little outdoor area. The accomodation is basic but was comfortable - the beds were good and there was adequate hot water showers. But to be honest you are out and about anyway!BYO toiletries. The meals were tasty, absolutely huge servings, very flexible with times and vegetarians well catered for. The banana and pineapple pancakes were the best, and there is refillable drinking water plus unlimited tea and coffee. There are only 2 rooms so don’t expect a group environment- this is a more intimate experience. It was within walking distance solo to a waterfall and rice terrace. The highlights was the tours organised by Ramli and the conversations about ecology, culture, plants etc. we did a tour that went for 10 hours for a very reasonable 1.2 mil for 2 people to the 4 waterfalls, local market, bamboo village, weavers village and blacksmiths. These are people’s homes not shopfronts so I was pleasantly surprised. Had an amazing day. Totally recommend. And my fellow traveller did Pergasingan hill with a guide and driver organised by Ramli and loved the experience. Be prepared for cool and rainy conditions. It’s a 2 - 21/2 hour drive from the harbour and Ramli can organise transport too. What they are doing to promote local tourism that ensures the locals actually benefit is applaudable- highly recommend supporting the local community in this way. Be prepared to throw a few tips to the locals who help make this an amazing experience! Highly recommend. Just a comment- Despite not spending much time there a little more light in the rooms would be great. There’s only 2 power outlets so bring a multi adapter.
- Guest (10/5): Great discovery of tetebatu with great people - The food was nice and the owners were wonderful. We spent 2 nights to see at the rice fields, waterfalls and other fields and the owner was our guide. We spent a really great moment. The guide was really funny and kind. It was perfect to discover the place

- Deana (10/5): Life changing. - Everything, the bed was comfortable the view was out of this world! The owners are sooo lovely and the omelette she makes is soooo good!!! There’s tea and coffee whenever you like as well. Nothing whatsoever it’s great value for money and has everything you need
- Guest (9/5): We stayed here 3 nights with our two doughters ( 11 and 14 years) and loved it! - Great view over the rice fields and Rinjani mountain.
Friendly family and Ramli is a very good host.
The rooms were clean and the food good!
I would come here again. No doubt..
- Chris (5/5): Not as good as the other reviews say it is - * Nice views of Mount Rinjani on a clear day
* Bed reasonably comfortable * No hot water - the property does actually have hot water, and when I told the owner there was no hot water he said he would call someone to fix it today. When I subsequently asked whether the hot water was fixed, he ignored my messages repeatedly (see screenshot). My feeling is that he knew the hot water was broken, but had zero intentions on fixing it during my stay. I'm fairly used to cold showers in Asia, but when it's cold and raining outside, a cold shower is hard to stomach,
* Internet is painfully slow, and often stops working. You’ll stare at your screen for ages losing the will to live waiting for pages to load, and the hours pass and you get very little done. Other places have faster internet - I ended up having to take my laptop to lunch and dinner so I could actually get things booked, and not just stare at my screen waiting for things to load.
* Communication upon checkin wasn't great - wasn’t given much information at the start. One improvement would be to write down all the important information and hand to guests upon checkin.
* Walls are very thin - hear most things on the other side.
* People have commented on the hospitatality they received here, but I certainly didn’t get the same experience. No friendly hellos, or anything like that.
* Breakfast gets a little boring - most places I've stayed during my 5 weeks in Indonesia serve a plate of fruit and a fresh juice. Sometimes toast with jam.
FYI
* Don't arrange a taxi through the homestay. The driver that took me to my next destination drove very fast and at times dangerously. The owner said the price was 350K, but the driver asked for 400K (which I refused). You can get a better transport for 300K in the village.
- Trine (8/5): Very good - The family was super nice and made great food and Ramli took us for a wonderful walk in the monkey forest and the ricefields
- Ashlee (9/5): Superb - Worth the stay. A very knowledgeable and hospitable host, great location tucked away, good value for money.
- Fess (10/5): Great value - Great room for the price! They allowed us in the room early and have drinking water- very good location as you can walk to the monkey forest and Tetebatu waterfall in 5
- Hilke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jorge (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place and awesome family taking care of the clients. Very tasty home made food. Beautiful views of Rinjani volcano from the homestay.
- Sohail (9/5): authentic lombok experience with really friendly locals - Very authentic homestay with a beautiful view on Rinjani.
we felt very welcomed by the family. You can get very good local food for good prices.
the neighborhood is really friendly too!
would recommend if you are looking for an authentic lombok experience! during rain season we had some problems with the wifi and for some reason the water in the shower stops every few minutes for a few minutes.
Besides that we felt very well accommodated!
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Best banana pancakes in Indonesia
- Endika (10/5): Great peaceful homestay - Great location with amazing views.
The food and the personal there is even better.
Highly recommended
- Maaike (9/5): Superb - A beautiful homestay, Ramli and his family are so friendly and the food they made was amazing. A great view of Mount Rinjani from the patio also. Very close to the waterfalls - walking distance. Ramli took me around the village for the day to the monkey forest, rice terraces and then to do sarong making and bamboo weaving, it was a great experience I definitely recommend. Would stay here again! There are only mini stalls nearby so either rent a scooter from somewhere or bring what you need from the shops before hand.
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional - this was the best acommodation i had so far, for such a cheap price! breakfast is included, it's simple omlette or pancake and very delicious!
i did a one day tour with ramli for 400k and he showed me around the area and told me about the rice anf other vegetables they grow. i saw traditional sarong making and bamboo bags making. i really enjoyed the day and can recommend to everyone.
- Govert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Remy (10/5): Exceptional - I spent one week there. I had some work to do on my laptop and the place was perfect for that. It's very quiet, you don't hear the mosques too much (which is uncommon in Tetebatu), and there is hot shower! Nothing
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Tetebatu indah homestay was amazing, the rooms are beautiful and clean, in a really quiet and green area with a nice view. The location is perfect to see the village, the ricefields, the waterfalls and the monkey forest. Ramli and his wife are really welcoming and nice, they took us for a walk and also a ride with the motorbikes to see tetebatu and they explained and showed us a lot to get to know better the area and the people and traditions of the village. They also cooked a delicious sasak meal for us. Ramli has worked hard to make tetebatu a destination for responsible turism and help the community and when you're in tetebatu you can really feel it: all the people we met in the village were really welcoming and happy to share and spend time with us. I really recommend going to tetebatu and stay in indah homestay. They are such a wonderful family
- Nicolle (10/5): Stunning natural area. - The best thing about this homestay was the incredible view and all the tours I did with the host Ramli. I had 4 nights here and there was plenty to see. The local craft makers, village, waterfalls and rice field walk, and climbing Pergasingan Hill. Such authentic experiences, especially meeting people where it felt like visiting friends for cups of tea and delicious snacks. The food at the homestay was delicious and plentiful, and the room spotless. Highly recommend!
- Sanne (7/5): Basic but clean Homestay, good location - Good location, clean, nice view, friendly owners Basic facilities, very warm at night
- Eleanor (9/5): Wonderful hospitality! - Ramli and his family are such lovely people. When you stay at their home, you are part of their extended family. Tetebatu is the back of beyond, a wild, beautiful and unique place. When you stay at a homestay, you get the gift of lovely people, you don’t get the aircon and western food. Ramli’s place has a comfy bed, a great shower and stunning views of Rinjani. He arranged a 7.5 hour guided trek to 3 different waterfalls, the monkey forest ( we saw monkeys!), rice fields and rice terraces. Our guide Sum showed us local flora and fauna and was also a lovely person. Ramli provided us with lunch with a delicious homemade sambal which was yummy.
- Jana (10/5): Exactly what we wanted - Everything- Incredible views, located in a quiet village with many waterfalls and rice fields. Lovely family too :) Very relaxing and enjoyable stay! The prayers will probably wake you if you are a light sleeper
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional - Really great place to stay! Clean rooms, great view and the owner is amazing! Definitelly recomendet!
- Constantino (9/5): Spartan accommodations but clean and comfortable - Mountain View The property was under construction
- Paul (8/5): Very good choice close to nature. Recommended! - Wonderful service from genial, friendly, helpful hosts. Superb food! Spectacular views of the mountain from the verandah. Quiet at night apart from the sound of the stream flowing just below the guesthouse. Very comfortable day and night as Tetabatu is relatively high and all that water and vegetation keep the place cool. Excellent service from the hosts (who speak good English) for transport, tours, hikes, etc. Hard to find. Patchy wifi: down or slow at times, especially in the room but better in the common area.
- Kai (9/5): Great little mountain stay - Great views, simple, clean rooms, hot water shower, lovely hosts. Coffee and tea always free to take. Access is a bit sketchy, but no big deal.
- Sara (8/5): Very good -
- Tobias (9/5): Superb - Nice place with very friendly owners and excellent food.
- Dominik (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and funny owner that invites you to a (paid but very recommendable) Village Walk where he shows you a waterfall, the beautiful rice terraces and all kinds of plants that are growing in the area.
- Connor (7/5): Good - The location within Tetebatu was really good (within walking distance from most tourist activities) and the property offered an amazing view of mt Rinjani! The room was very affordable and had good facilities. It was very convenient having a restaurant on site as there are limited places to eat in tetebatu, also the food was great! The village in was in was wonderful very kind and welcoming local people The rooms are very small and at times we felt very claustrophobic in the room, it is only big enough for the bed and somewhere to leave your bags, not good for relaxing. There was also a friendly gecko who would creep in through a hole in the which was cute at first but then they started pooing on the floor of the room:( . The couple who own the property are kind but we rarely saw much of them so at times it felt a bit isolating being at the property.
- Ruben (9/5): Ramli and his wife are amazing hosts that will make your stay in Tetebatu unforgetable! -
- Joann (8/5): Lovely stay, central to the Tete Batu area. - the food was spot on, we were called to breakfast and dinner. the area was exceptional. Nothing
- Ahdrielle (10/5): Great location and lovely helpful family! - Central location but nice and quiet off the main road. Beautiful garden and amazing view of Mt Rinjani. The owner was so so helpful - he let us rent his scooter when ours got a flat tire and gave us a very well priced moto-taxi down to Paok Motong as well as helping us negotiate a fair price for our second moto-taxi. Would definitely come back here, lovely family and well-priced considering location and facilities.
- Stijn (7/5): Tetebatu - Ramli was a super guide, he brought us to all the cool places around Tetebatu.
His wife also has great cooking skills There are no restaurants or something around the homestay, but like mentioned the food in the homestay was excellent
- Bart (8/5): Nice place if you want to go back to Lombok basics - The location is great. Food is very good. The host gave us some good tips and took us on a nice hike. Do not expect much more than what you pay for, the place is basic, but that also gives it its charm!
- Leo (10/5): Had a very pleasant stay here - Perfect location, amazing balcony views of Rinjani, clean and comfortable
- Goose (10/5): Exceptional - Located in the middle of the island, perfect to explore! The food was great and the host family was a pleasure to interact with.
- Tommy (8/5): Stunning view from the terrace - We had an amazing view: right on the paddies fields, jungle and volcano. Very close to the waterfall and the monkey forest. Also had dinner there, more expensive than normal Indonesia but I guess that’s where they can make a bit of money as the accommodation is affordable A bit hot in the afternoon
One electric socket in the room is NOT enough
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alessandro (10/5): Exceptional - Very kind people good place clean and good food. Ram li ✌️
- Camille (8/5): Good stay for a night in Tetebatu - Great view to Mount Rinjani from the homestay and basic but good breakfast included. The trek with Ramli was very nice and interesting. His son and the 2 kittens they have are really cute. It was nice to be in the nature, away from mass tourism. Our room had two separate double beds in 2 rooms, which was very nice and the mattresses were comfortable. There is no AC or fan but you don't need it in Tetebatu. A few nice restaurants within 5min walk so convenient location in the village. Ramli and his family were really nice people. The room was extremely basic for the price. Barely any light, you can't see almost anything in the room at the back, and it is separated from their house with a plank of wood only so I was awoken at 6am with the screams of their children and family, that was quite annoying. Also the room at the back was not clean, under the bed was really dirty and I found a HUGE cockroach in the room. My friend's bed squeaked all night so he also had a hard time sleeping. The mosquito nets had big wholes all over them so it did not make sense to use them. The bathroom was outside of the room, which was not a problem in itself for us, but no toilet paper was provided. Ramli is a very nice host but he charged us a lot of money for our trek, considering the morning is only walking around, that the tour does not include the price of the waterfall (which he did not say in advance) and neither does it include lunch, and that afternoon tour is made in scooter. Don't hesitate to bargain the price quite a lot before agreeing to the tour.
- Morgane (8/5): Very good -
- Eitan (10/5): Very recommended - Nice staff, great view, clean, hot water and good food. Nothing
- Nadia (8/5): Very good - Great breakfast
Amazing view
Lovely hosts
Hot water and WiFi
Close to monkey forest and trek in rice field
Very good trek by host
Perfect pillows and bed with fan The mosque and school near the house too noisy
I was charged too much for my trek
- Michaella (10/5): Exceptional - Ramli is the best host! So funny and kind. He helps you out too
Bed was comfy and good value for money
- Coralie (10/5): Felt at home right away. Amazing views, people and food. - We really enjoyed our stay at Tetbatu Indah Homestay. The host is really welcoming, we felt at home and the food was really good ! We enjoyed the view and the free tea and coffee. We also met a lot of super friendly local.
- Huiyi (10/5): Exceptional - It’s in a beautiful location, only two rooms in the homestay, so if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and clean, and a place to yourself, this is ideal choice. Good food and nice owner
- Alexandre (10/5): We had a very good stay in Tetebatu Indah homestay - Our stay ar tetebatu indah homestay was perfect. We booked only one night on booking and added two more nights because Ramli and his family are very warmhearted hosts. Every morning we had a nice breakfast and coffe/tea. When we arrived, Ramli took us to local stick-fighting competition which was very interesting and fun to watch. On the next day he took us on a morning tour around Tetebatu (rice fields, monkey forest, waterfall) and in the evening we visited some crafting villages where we saw how sarongs were made and we loved the bamboo village. For the afternoon trip Ramli rented us a scooter. He was always available if we needed his help and he helped us organize the Mt. Rinjani tour because he knows a lot of people in Tetebatu. We also made some friend there, so we really recommend this place to stay. Nothing
- Cecilia (9/5): Very nice - The room is basic but nice. The view on mount Rinjani is amazing. The owner is very nice. The walls of the room are thin. The smokes from the small fires outside got in during the night.
- Caston (9/5): A very enjoyable stay in beautiful natural surroundings with friendly hosts and fellow travelers. - The best features were the location, the view and the extremely hospitable hosts.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - The property has nice rooms, very friendly staff, and a great location. Highly recommended!
- Goudman (9/5): Superb - The beautifull ricefields of Tetebatu were the best we have seen in our trip (sumatra, java, lombok and bali) and the warm family that hosted us. Ramli took us on a 2 hour hike trough the village, which was really really nice! Nothing
- Teuney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marald (9/5): What a nice place! - The very warm welcome of bapak Ramli and his wife, the nature of Tetebatu, the wonderful waterfall tour we had with pak Ros, the fantastic views to Mt. Rinjani and the great food which we were served at Tetebatu Indah homestay (try the Sate Lombok and Gado-Gado). All together, we had an enjoyable stay. Makasih 🙏🏼 Very small mirrors in bathroom, hanging too low. Made a joke to the owner about it which was fun! 😊
- Simone (10/5): Exceptional - Very well located, very close to the waterfalls and the monkey forest. Super clean and comfortable. The food is delicious and the owners are extremely kind. The view is extraordinary.
- Marjolijn (9/5): Lovely homestay to discover the area - The room was comfortable and the food was good. Also the walk you can do with the host is really beautiful! It’s a little bit noisy because of de mosque, but that will probably be everywhere in Tetebatu.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - We really liked the warm-hearted host who took some time to have nice and interesting conversation with us. The rooms were small and cozy and very clean. The host organized trips for us and took us on a tour through the monkey forest and the rice fields explaining a lot about the plants and agriculture. The location is ideal for taking a walk through the monkey forest.
- Tycho (10/5): Exceptional - The family is really kind and so helpfull. The location is perfect for monkey forrest and the waterfalls and the food at the homestay is perfect as well. Had a really nice time.
- Klaudia (10/5): Exceptional - Very basic but clean and comfy. In this price I couldn’t expect more/ we were welcomed by owner with cup of coffee and nice talk. Smell
- Chelsea (6/5): Pleasant -
- Olivia (9/5): Superb - Lovely homestay in nature! Great food, lovely family! I rented a scooter for 5 days to drive to Kuta for a few days and the owner offered to drive me to the airport for my flight which was really helpful
- Kiv (10/5): Exceptional - Good homestay with a good local food inside !
Close to the waterfall and the monkey forest
- Stefano (10/5): Exceptional - The place is just amazing with Rijani and the forest view. Mr Bram was very welcoming and the dinner was really tasty..perfect place to stay! Thank you!
- Tadeas (8/5): Very good value - Room is small and basic, but sufficient and the price is very, very good. Breakfast, omelette is decent and large, pancake not so much. Restaurant prices are very high, 35k or 40k for fried rice or noodles. Maybe their model is to offer cheap room and make it up on food; we ate all meals in a warung nearby.
Rather slow wifi, but in this price range I do not even expect any wifi.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for money and a great location. The view in the morning of Mt Rinjani is amazing. The family are so lovely and easy to talk to. Great breakfast on offer also. Comfy bed, warm shower. Probably the best pillows I've slept on in Indonesia!
- Chelsea (10/5): Exceptional - The bed was so comfortable, the view of rinjani is spectacular too
- Sterre (10/5): Exceptional - I enjoyed my stay at Indah so much! Ramli was supernice. He took me to some villages in the afternoon and helped me with everything I asked for. The room is clean with everything you would expect from a homestay, plus a hot shower. And the food is great! Would definitely stay again.
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional - People are so nice
- Daniela (10/5): Good place to stay!! - Very good place, clean and comfortable. Good location, good breakfast.
The family was very friendly, they can help you do tours, rent scooter, arrange airport pickup.
Food was also very good here.
They also have laundry service.
We really enjoyed staying here, the views of the mountain were beautiful! -
- Wim (7/5): Homestay near monkey forest and rice fields. - Location close to monkey forest, rice fields and
waterfall.
Budget price for room.
Nice food, value for money.
Great host Ramli ! Homestay is basic: room, shower, toilet.
Therefor price is also low !
- Cleo (9/5): Superb - beautiful views, AMAZING food (try the fried bananas trust me), and the loveliest hosts. quite a trek to get too but worth it. Stunning hidden waterfall ten minutes walk (need a guide) and about an hours bike from big waterfalls which were stunning. Shower was hot at times and bed was comfy. overall would recommend! Water did run out in shower sometimes but other than that nothing!
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Mariëm (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annabel (10/5): Peaceful, beatiful and amazing stay! - One of the best homestays I've been too! The area is so peaceful and calm with an amazing view on Mt Rinjani! The garden is full of bananatrees and it's super quiet! Felt so comfortable here and enjoyed the cooking class I took with the host :) the rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is excellent :)
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional - Really amazing homestay. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The owners are super nice, recommend us a lot of activities for free. You can explore the monkey forest, waterfalls, bamboo processing and rice fields in near location. The rooms were super cozy and clean with comfortable bed and hot shower. The view is really nice. Breakfast was delicious and very good portions.
- Alan (9/5): Great tour at the accommodation. - The location is excellent with a fabulous view of Rinjani from the room.
The room was clean, comfortable with the unexpected bonus of a hot shower.
A local guide, Sum met me at the accommodation and took me on a three hour guided walking tour. We went through the rice terraces to the waterfalls. Sum was so informative about the plants and fruits, it was fascinating for me. The whole area is so scenic and natural. The walk continued in the forest where we saw large groups of black monkeys. The tour was the highlight of my stay in Lombok.
- Kira (7/5): Good - Bram was super friendly and nice and the food he cooles was simply delicious! Rooms are quite small without much storage space
- Fleur (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, cozy and clean room, breakfast was delicious and the owner and his family were very kind!
- Karolina (10/5): I highly recommend - great place, beautiful views, very good food, clean rooms and warm shower. and friendly staff and owners, I highly recommend
- Lisa (10/5): Highly recommended! - The place has amazing views on the mountains and is located in a little village where everyone is very friendly. The hosts take really good care of you and offer you a local guide to check out the amazing surroundings. Theres heaps of waterfalls, rice fields and other cool stuff to see. the food at the home stay is great also, very very tasty and cheap. Highly recommended for some chill time in nature!!
- Annika (9/5): Superb - I loved the warm and welcoming hosts - Ramli organised a driver for me from the harbour and I felt very supported from the moment I arrived on Lombok! Amazing location and the feeling of a little home away from home in this village away from all the tourist hassle. I especially enjoyed the good conversations with my hosts and the good food! :)
Ramli took me on a walk through the village one morning which I loved because I could see all sides of the village and really get a feel for this place.
- Lawrence (8/5): Lovely & accommodating owner..Out to please U.. - Scenic..Nice & Sweet owner.. Mee- Goreng.. ( from Maggi noodle )
- Julian (10/5): good sleep en nice view -
- Elise (8/5): Very good - nice place animals running at night in wall an ceiling
- David (7/5): Pleasant stay - I enjoyed my time at the homestay. Convenient location. Owners friendly and accommodating. Room basic as expected for the price . Very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed a morning with the owner Ramli wandering the surrounding areas through ricefields and villages with a visit and swim at the Sarang Walet waterfall. A rare sighting of a troop of black monkeys was a bonus.
- Sarina (10/5): Exceptional - Ramli and Huriani are fantastic hosts. The family is very lovely and warm. Huriani is also an excellent cook and I recommend everyone to eat there right away. The rooms are simple and clean and the guesthouse is ideally located to explore the area and beautiful rice fields. Ross (the neighbour) and Ramli do very exciting tours by the way, show and explain everything. I liked it so much in this paradise that I added another 2 nights.
- John (9/5): Superb - family run. location great. affordable price. food outstanding. and the hosts were very welcoming. we arrived early but wasn’t a problem. the husband was out on a tour, but his wife managed to arrange a local guide to take us on a small tour around the rice fields & waterfalls. all trips can be arranged here. well worth a visit if staying in TETEBATU.
- Young (10/5): Highly recommended! Go on a tour with the nephews, Yusuf and Ross - Super friendly hosts and some of the best food we had in lombok!
