Dining room was extremely pleasant and the food was some of the best we have had in a long while - congratulations to the chef! Would certainly visit again. Would have been nice to have a had a lounge area and a lift to the top floors but in such a lovely old building lifts may not be practicable.

No power outlet by the bed (needed for c-pap machine, hearing aids charger and nighttime mobile phone access.) Room smelled misty and we had to open a window to air it out.

- Daniel (8/5): Comfortabel, rustig gelegen in een woonwijk. Ideaal op doorreis - Vriendelijke bediening, comfortabele bedden. Goed restaurant. Goed ontbijt. Stopcontacten hebben ook usb poorten zodat je niet met reisstekkers moet werken. De noodverlichting op de kamer heeft een groene led, die heel erg fel schijnt. Zo fel dat ik er bijna een boek mee kon lezen. :-/ De ventilator op de badkamer stopt pas als je de deur dicht doet. Als je de ‘s nachts naar het toilet gaat, en de deur laat openstaan, dan blijft de ventilator draaien zodat je nog eens uit bed moet.

Only about one room on the ground floor.. Some rooms require 3-4 staircases to climb to access rooms. It's a little difficult if your elderly with a suitcase.

- F5121BZadeleb (10/5): The food at this restaurant would be hard to beat. - I have visited the restaurant at the Hopping Hare several times with friends and told my husband how wonderful the food was. We had occasion to visit as a couple and my husband was blown away by the flavours and presentation of the food. Our waitress, Lin, greeted us as though she was genuinely pleased to see us and made us feel very welcome as she always does when I go with my friends. The food is not cheap but worth every penny and is without debt the best food for miles around. It would be very hard to beat it.

Quality ingredients. Thoughtfully and expertly designed menu. Expertly cooked to order to a very high standard. Reasonably priced as the standard was so high. - 997pamk (10/5): A very good stay - I stayed over the Christmas period. Location is excellent, easily reached with good parking. The atmosphere was very welcoming, inside being beautifully decorated for Christmas. From arrival staff were friendly and helpful. My room was a good size, quiet, clean and very comfortable. Added extras such as the iron and ironing board, water, tea, coffee and biscuits every day were a bonus. Breakfast was a good choice and freshly cooked to order. Good value for money, I would definitely stay again .

- Bopeep1947 (10/5): Good food, great company! - A modern hotel with a warm, comfortable, welcoming feeling when you walk in the door. The staff clearly have a motto that they all adhere to “the answer is “yes” what’s the question”! Hubby and I stayed for 3 nights just before Christmas. We liked our room (20) the bed was huge and comfortable - no it wasn’t perfect, but it came damn close. Improvements to the room for us would include making sure that the room can be blacked out at night, better pillows and more places to put toilet bags in the wet room. As for the food, well it was excellent and I’m not easy to please. The smoked salmon starter and the sea trout main were both outstanding. Breakfast could only be improved by adding a selection of pastries please! Outstanding service was the star of the Hopping Hare show. Delightful, helpful and eager to please, every one of them. If we are back this way in the future we will stay again and will check to see if you took the advice from an experienced hospitality and food journalist.

- angelalI9623BB (10/5): 12 Days of Christmas - We had a ladies lunch here yesterday. The food was delicious and the staff were amazing. They went above and beyond and looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble. I was half hour late getting there and they were lovely, making sure I had a drink as soon as I sat down. They brought over the Birthday cake as requested, as two ladies were celebrating their Birthdays. Nothing was too much trouble and they along with the other customers put up with our singing of The 12 days of Christmas 🎄 🎅Thank you very much. We cannot recommend this highly enough. Thank you again and Merry Christmas xx
- Helen (7/5): Hopping Hare Review December 2025 - Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Bed comfy. Plenty of electric sockets in the room. Ironing board, iron and hair dryer all in the room wardrobe. Mould in the ensuite bathroom in our room. And although there were two of us, only one small shower gel tube. Furniture too old. Struggled to open bedside cabinet drawer.
- Beverley (8/5): Would definitely stay again. - Warm welcome, impressive from outside, plenty of parking. Bedroom had everything that I could have required. Dinner and breakfast were superb. Uninspiring outlook from bedroom! Difficulty controlling the heating which was too hot but, contrarily, could not see how to turn on the heated towel rail!

The bar and restaurant service was first class and plenty of staff around, which is rare at other places I have been. The food was the best I have had for a long time and highly recommended. Room was easy to access for my mum who was 91. Room clean and a good size with everything you needed. Nothing

- 632lulap (4/5): Confusing - My family have come to the restaurant a couple times before and have said how wonderful both the atmosphere and service is and that the food is gorgeous but unfortunately I cannot say the same about my experience. It was quite a busy night so understandably the waiting staff would be a bit flustered but all the girls serving us were extremely kind and helpful. That would be all except for one. I think we caught her name to be Laura but when sitting us down she threw menus at us and walked away without a another word. A while later she came back and when taking our drinks order was very impatient, as said it was quite busy but we feel she could have been at least a little more respectful. Another lady served us the rest of the night but we couldn’t help but overhear this first girl talking to her colleges very loudly and what seemed to be quite rudely as well. The overall meal was delicious but unfortunately our experience was tainted because of our interactions and what we witnessed in regards to this one waitress and I’m honestly unsure on whether I’d return.

- Thomas (10/5): - Dinner was great! Some of the best the British offer. The staff was warm, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was cozy and very commodious. The room was outstanding, well appointed, the mattress amazing, and the vintage tudor style window opened to let in fresh air. Very attractive setting along a well traveled road, yet placed far enough off the road on a side street to offer quiet rest. No toiletries in the bath, such as soap, shampoo, etc. This may have been a mere oversight by staff. Fortunately, I brought my own.

- Arthur (9/5): Prima accomodatie, aanrader - Kreeg upgrade van 1-persoons kamer naar riante 2-persoonskamer. Goede wifi, alles keurig schoon. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Restaurant met uitstekend eten, alles voor een goed prijs. Ruime parkeerplaats met voldoende plek. Niets.
