• ger2102 (10/5): Simply lovely - thank you! - We were kindly upgraded to one of the newly renovated rooms, which was beautifully presented and had everything needed for a very comfortable stay. The absolute highlight, however, was the view. Watching the spectacular colours of Mount Tongariro transform from sunset, through moonlight, and then waking up to an incredible sunrise was simply unforgettable. We also enjoyed a great meal across the road at the Schnapps Bar, which was the perfect end to the evening.
• Erica (9/5): Lovely. Perfect place to be based for the Tongariro Crossing. Will definitely stay again. - Great location, charming surroundings. Very comfortable bed, clean room and had all the basics. Nice to arrive to the heat pump being on - room was nice and warm. Nothing - only suggestion would be a squeegee in the shower to wipe water off the glass, and a heated towel rail for when it’s cold and towels take a while to dry. Other than that, everything was great.

• Martin (10/5): Excellent Alpine Chalets - Due to a large Cyclone hitting NZ, our host was in regular contact before our stay. She was amazingly helpful, we couldn’t have asked for more. The chalet was recently refurbished, it was clean, comfortable and ideal for our needs. The Schnapps bare across the road was very welcoming and did amazing ribs.

Located next to the gas station and the local restaurant bar, close to the route for visiting Tongariro National Park. Nothing to say. Just mention that the building have two floors and there isn't a lift, so if you have mobility issues let they know to be located in the ground floor

• LAURA (8/5): - Si tratta di un motel situato in posizione molto comoda per visitare la zona del Tongariro national Park. La stanza/appartamento era semplice ma ampia, pulita e con tutto il necessario per farne una base per visitare le belle zone dei dintorni. credo che la Struttura stia attraversando un periodo di ristrutturazione perché alcune camere erano più moderne , la nostra situata al secondo piano era un po’ più vecchia come arredamento ma funzionale alle nostre esigenze. Ci vuole la macchina per raggiungere i percorsi escursionistici oppure si possono prenotare degli shuttle. Dalla camera la vista era magnifica!! La struttura e’ situata vicino alla strada principale , non un’autostrada ma una strada di collegamento importante dove passano tir molto grossi. La notte può capitare che si fermino per dormire o altro in piazzole all’altezza del motel. quindi ci possono essere problemi di rumori di traffico. la Struttura fornisce i tappi . Comunque su due sere, una e’andata bene quindi forse non e’ sempre così

Reasonable price as well. Clear instructions and everything went smoothly. Also a bonus at how close amenities are. Thank you. Some condensation issues, but property is maintained well enough and the air con helps!
• Robert (4/5): - Proprietor was pleasant and helpful in finding a more acceptable room since our original allocated room was poor and the staircase was unsafe for us. Our room was due for refurbishment and was in generally poor condition. Large trucks parked in road at front visiting nearby truck stop cafe.
• Jade (9/5): - Great room and facilities for an overnight stay! Perfect spot for staying before and/or after the Tongariro crossing. Whilst I stayed there was a family with a child that wouldn't stop screaming. I would say the soundproofing of this place is not the best.
• Robert (9/5): - The location was second to none. The Four Square and the restaurants were all within a couple of minutes walk. Check in was simple and the manager, Mary, was only a phone call or a text away. The suite was cosy and comfortable and we felt like valued customers, even though we had no actual face to face contact with the people who ran the place. 1) The lack of an elevator. The stairs took a bit of a toll on these 79 year old bones, but that's my problem, not theirs. I should have specified a ground floor unit when I booked. 2) There is a basic kitchen that has a microwave, a jug, and a toaster but there is no table to sit at once you have prepared your breakfast/brunch.

Large bathroom Excellent towels. For not huge person - definietly would go for reguular - larger kitchennete more floorspace. Only downside of regular is no bedside shelf. Regularf based on looking through window. Wash basin in upgrade narrow despite large bathroom i guess the same in regular. No body gell.

Optimale Lage zur Erkundung des Tongarino Nationalparks.. Sehr guter Pub (Schnapps Bar) in der Nähe, Leckeres Frühstück bei The Station (Bahnhof). Klare Empfehlung!

• Leonie (7/5): Prima verblijf, kamer gedateerd - Wij hadden de kamer op de bovenste verdieping, alwaar we via een smalle trap konden komen. De bedden waren prima, we hebben goed geslapen. Ook spraken we iemand van het personeel de volgende dag, ze was zeer vriendelijk en enthousiast. Het hotel ligt naast een gezellige bar/restaurant waar je lekker kunt eten en gezellig kunt zitten. Elke kamer heeft een eigen gratis parkeerplaats. De badkamer heeft een kleine douchecabine met gordijn. Het was netjes en schoon, maar krap en aan vervanging toe. De kamer is gedateerd. De chalets worden opgeknapt, dus uiteindelijk zal ook deze kamer er weer mooier uit zien.
• Ceri (9/5): Newly renovated rooms & convenient location for Tongariro. - The newly renovated rooms (we had 8 on the upper level) are excellent - spotlessly clean, comfortable king bed, new mini-kitchen, new towels, v. hot shower. We thought the road noise would be an issue but the new double glazing was super - and there are ear plugs provided which is a nice touch. Communication was prompt & gave us local information. It would be good to have more seating/picnic tables outside.

• Niels Majland Jørgensen (9/5): - Dejligt sted, dog lidt tæt på hovedvejen Meget fine og rene værelser med alt hvad man skal bruge. Lidt støj fra hovedvejen i dagtimerne, men da vores lejlighed var placeret i anden række var det ikke noget problem. På den måde fik vi dog ikke udsigt over landskabet.

No privacy without curtains 100% closed and with that the room is very dark. Also fairly noisy, with people walking upstairs, and right outside door, and in adjacent parking and highway.

• Maria (10/5): Comfortable, clean and incredibly kind staff - Cozy small apartment like room. Very clean. Comfortable bed and quality linen and towels. Convenient with fridge, kettle and cup for warm drinks and generous selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate in room. Although I didn’t meet the staff they were really kind, they were on touch several times daily via messages and offered great advice for how to make the stay most enjoyable. I was very grateful for that since it was my first time in the area. My particular unit was on the smaller side, but well furnished. It could have been nice with some shelves or small drawers for personal items, but not a big issue since I travelled light.
• Helen (4/5): If you want a window you can see out of don’t book garden view suite - Good location Room recently refurbished to a good standard Comfy bed The room was described as garden view suite with separate bedroom on Booking.com. This is incorrect. It was in an annexed. There was no separate bedroom or any sort of view as the only window was obscured glass onto the parking area and the door was solid. The description needs correcting. I would not have booked a room with no view at all as it was claustrophobic. We were told there was no alternative available and offered a refund. It was too far to find somewhere else that night, so agreed to refund of our second night and moved on. We saw empty rooms on ground floor of main building when we left early the following morning, which did have clear windows, so not sure why we could not be moved

• Christine (9/5): Einfach aber fein! - Die Zimmer sind schlicht, aber sehr funktional eingerichtet. Die Betten sind gut. Das Bad sehr modern und neu. Es gibt für jede Unit einen zugewiesenen Parkplatz. Es gibt einen Grillplatz und einen Waschraum - beides haben wir aber nicht genutzt. Insgesamt, alles sehr unkompliziert!

Trevlig kontakt med hotellvärden via meddelande. Lätt in- och utcheckning och bra parkeringsmöjligheter. Mycket lyhört både utifrån loftgången och andra lägenheter, samt relativt mycket tung trafik (lastbilar) utifrån vägen som också hörs. Wifi med mycket varierande hastighet. Synd att tvättmaskinen var sönder!

• David (10/5): Great place. Staff go above and beyond to help. - Staff were very friendly, ensured we had all we needed for check in and went “above and beyond” to help. The weather. But that’s not anyone’s fault.
• Mame Fatim (10/5): - Our host Mary was helpful to us from the moment we confirmed our booking. She provided us with the best studio with front views to the Tongariro mountains. The weather was kind to us providing sunny and clear days during our stay, perfect to enjoy the Alpine views and the starry nights. As a couple, our Tongariro stay was one of the top highlights of our NZ trip as we enjoyed romantic moments which we will cherish forever. Our studio was modern and comfortable one with a king size bed and all the amenities we needed. We were able to rest before we undertook the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and to relax and re-energize afterwards. Thanks again Mary, we will definitely book this accommodation again in our next visit to New Zealand. 100% recommended!

Mary the Manager did her best to accommodate us… Thank you The Wifi was a bit slow and did cut out at times and some noise from other guests. We were warned about it. The room an outdated BUT the room will be renovated as of now…no complaints as our host Manager was super friendly. Thank you

We were a bit apprehensive about the weather as it was looking quite windy but she provided alternative options if our original plan were to fall through, much appreciated! We were also in a newly renovated upstairs room with a gorgeous mountain view. Earplugs were provided but we didn't need them. Everything was nice and clean too.

• Huijuan (10/5): Wonderful and incredibly! - Standing in the corridor in front of the room, you can see both Mount Ruapenu and Mount Ngauruhoe at the same time. The view is incredible. In unit #10, you can see the snow-capped mountains while lying in bed. Thought the unit near street, but Mary prepared earplugs in the room. Once closed door and windows at night, the noise is ok. I’m actually a light sleeper, but that night I slept very well, I woke up by alarm in the morning! Mary who runs this motel is so nice and so kind, she is very considerate of customers’ needs. She helped me a lot for checkin and check out time. I’m so thankful!!! The unit is very big and super clean. There are no odors smell in the kitchen or around the sink. The towels and bed sheets are very clean, the bed is comfortable. Everything let you feel clean and pleasant. Water pressure

• Arto (10/5): Excellent! - Clean, quiet, perfect location, friendly staff. Prior to check-in I received a comprehensive info package on how everything works and what are the activity options around the National Park. Room didn’t have proper place for suitcase. I had to leave it on the floor.

• Diane (7/5): Perfect for Tongariro Crossing! - Great views of the volcanoes. The property manager was fantastic in helping us with the broken microwave. She even offered to upgrade us to a larger room, but it was up an additional steep flight of stairs, so we declined the upgrade. The stairs! We now know to always request a ground floor unit in New Zealand. Also, our assigned parking spot was as far away from the room as you can get. Upon arrival, the microwave didn’t work, but we got that sorted very quickly with the property manager.

• Mathias (6/5): - Sauberes und gemütliches Apartment in guter Lage. Eigener Parkplatz. Man hört jeden Schritt der Gäste im oberen Zimmer. Auch der Straßenverkehr war laut. Die Dusche war entweder eiskalt oder kochend heiß, war kaum einzustellen auf normale Temperatur.

• AungCho (8/5): It is a cozy and spacious place perfect for relaxing after a long, tiring day. - The staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating. She even texted me in advance to confirm my arrival time and kindly allowed me to check in before the official 3:00 p.m. check-in time, which I really appreciated. While the exterior of the chalet looked a bit older than what was shown in the photos on Booking.com, the interior was a pleasant place; clean, tidy, and newly renovated. Everything inside felt fresh and well-maintained. This place is in a great location for exploring the National Park. It’s close to the ferry station that takes you to the Iced Mountain, and it’s also near the meeting points for several guided hiking tours. It would have been more comfortable if a small table and a couple of chairs were provided next to the clothes rack, offering a convenient spot to sit and enjoy meals. It’d be even better if the fridge were a bit bigger just to fit more food and drinks for longer stays.

Camera spaziosa, piccola cucina con microonde, tutto pulito e possibilità di parcheggiare davanti al proprio alloggio. Servizio lavanderia e asciugatrice. Vista bellissima e molto comodo per Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Si potrebbero migliorare le istruzioni per servizio lavanderia e drying room (abbiamo comunque risolto in poco tempo grazie all'assistenza di Mary).
