Guest Reviews
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Luke (10/5): A grear stay and Hari was efficient and polite. - Relaxing N/a
- Joshua (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): Comfortable but check still operational - Reasonable sized room, one of five in the house, with balcony and view over the countryside. Upmarket decor and furniture etc. Bottles of estate wine available in the room for purchase Owners weren't expecting us so had to chase for keycode to access, with noone else onsite that afternoon/ evening. Gardens and winery looked unmaintained. Feels like business has died and our booking was a leftover.
- Holly (10/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): -
- meriel (10/5): the most Fabulous hosts you could ever meet! Conney and Hari made this trip extra special. - I could not rave about the hosts at Gypsy Creek enough!
Conney and Hari were the highlight of our trip - such welcoming, friendly people who made their home the BEST place to stay. There is nothing to not like, I wish I had longer there.
- Renee (10/5): - Beautiful, quiet surroundings, an enjoyable stay away from home. The owners were lovely and very accomadating. Look forward to returning in the future.
- Sarah (8/5): - Private quiet Don't have any complaints
- Mathews (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rahul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Byrne (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (2/5): I’d really like a refund or credit for my stay. - Location was the only thing No hot water, no meals, no sitting area, the orchard was disgusting all overgrown and the general state of the property was disgraceful.
- Antoinette (6/5): Pleasant - The single bed was not comfortable for an adult. Mattress is too soft.
Didn't realise there would be a function downstairs. Guests not going to function should be informed due to the noise factor.
Otherwise ok but more supplies need to be left in the room if two people are staying for two nights.
Bar fridge was not turned on, and we couldn't find out where to do this.
- Raelene (8/5): Very good - The view from the building. The welcoming owners I would love to see the grapevines managed. They looked a bit overgrown
- Amy (4/5): Disappointing - Our spa and tv didn’t work. There was loud swearing from what we assume to be guests however also may have been the owners as following the swearing the lounge room stereo downstairs was turned up very loud and our whole room vibrated. The owners were pleasant to deal with during check in and check out though.
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurie (8/5): Quiet countryside - Connie is a very welcoming, house-proud host - the house and rooms are very clean with comfortable beds.
We stayed on a Saturday, Connie said it was full but the other guests were respectful and it was quiet. The balcony is private and a very pleasant evening spent on the balcony with wine and snacks - ( as the host mentions it is not a working winery so BYO food and drinks and it makes a very relaxing night in).
- Wendy (9/5): Superb -
- Vivienne (4/5): Cold showers - Nice view from the balcony There was absolutely no hot water
- Sally (6/5): Run down and sad. - The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The kitchenette was useful. The bathroom was clean and spacious. An ironing board was provided when asked. The grounds seemed unloved and neglected. We couldn’t use the bath due to restrictions from the CFA in case of fire, yet the shower had to be left running for almost 5 mins to be warm enough to wash under… what a waste of precious water. The bath in the second room I moved to due to a plumbing problem in the first room had melted candle wax around the edges. The website hadn’t been updated so it was still called a B&B …but there was no food. The tea and coffee caddy wasn’t replenished properly….almost empty in one room. There was crockery missing in both rooms. There wasn’t a microwave in one room. The tv streaming using my own device wouldn’t work in either room. Either the instructions were incorrect or a set top box mat have been needed to be installed within HDMI connection. There were cobwebs inside and out and the building looked unloved. Gardens were terribly overgrown with fruit trees tangled in bird netting and fruit left on trees for the birds. No cards or brochures for points of interest like the steam train at Walhalla or other tourist attractions with the exception of parks. Nearby food outlets were found by ourselves via our devices. The cost of the room was high in my opinion. Booking.com needs to be contacted as my friend and I were charged differently and taxed differently by the company. Apart from peace and quiet (which is lovely on a holiday or short read) nothing really draws you to the place. I wouldn’t return now that I have stayed once. The idea of turning the property into a retirement village is not one that would hold water…..no nearby infrastructure for aging people…don’t do it is my advice.
- Belida (9/5): Superb -
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yudayah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (9/5): A comfy, stylish and affordable place to stay. Great for a weekend getaway! - The decor around the house was very nice. The host was friendly and accommodating. A little tricky to figure out where to leave the key when we left
- Michael (7/5): Hosts very accommodating. - Very nice Not enough hot water in the showers.
- Amanda (1/5): we took one look at the place and left with out staying. - it good have been cleaner, it looked like no one lived there.
- Stephanie (10/5): Such a beautiful property and the owners where extremely accommodating seeings our late arrival! Amazing and stunning pl - The property was so beautiful both at night and during the day… wish we had more time there Nothing it was absolutely gorgeous! Will definitely be coming again
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - Great stay great host Parents down stairs room water was a bit cool
- G98 (8/5): Very good -
- Brent (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay
- Liz (10/5): Lovely break in the country with the birds 🦅 - Everything N/A
- Michelle (1/5): Disappointed - The property is ran down looks nothing like the photos on the website I booked from. The property was ran down looks nothing like the photos on the website and why call it a winery it isn’t even open. Very disappointed didn’t even stay the night it was very isolated.
- Buhagiar (9/5): Superb - The whole house was amazing as was our room.Loved the little patio and a bath in the room.Very clean and well presented. The host Connie is a beautiful lady and very attentive to your needs will stay again.
- Jacky (6/5): Not what I expected! - Large comfortable room and did feel welcomed. It’s run more like renting an en-suite room in someone’s house. I thought it was a working winery but not any more. No outside seating on our patio had to share with the owner. Room was clean but a bit shabby.
- Warren (3/5): Poor -
- Trav (10/5): Beautiful - Location Nothing not to like
- Caroline (9/5): Superb - Perfect location for what we needed. So so clean. Lovely host.
- Heidi (8/5): I would stay here again. The house was very quiet and extremely clean. Very practical and high quality. - Everything in the property was thought out and high quality. The host was lovely.
Calm and quiet place.
Priced really well. Couldn’t get the tv to work.
There wasn’t any milk in the fridge for the coffee and tea.
- Rob (8/5): Very good - Cleanliness Advertised as a B& B but no cooking or food available
- Erica (1/5): DON'T DO IT - Only the wildlife outside on NEIGHBOURS properties. Nothing to see on this one not as listed, overpriced and not a functioning vineyard. Asked to remove shoes when entering and is a home visit NOT a hotel room. Was a huge drama and at $150 per night very expensive. Lock you out when you go for a walk (and you dont get the front door keys) and stalk you as you walk around property, where there are no lights at night outside (and all the car parks taken by owners so no parking either, certainly no shade or lights)
was no Kitchenette as promised, and the TV did not work. ASKED TO REMOVE SHOES BEFORE ENTERING ROOM. Said took over in July last year so a new listing not an old one and has lost any charm or value it had/
Had to contact Booking.com on day one and took 2 days to get to as listed.
Other guests came during my stay and made the same comments to me... NO TV and no kitchenette (unless you want to share their house). Zero SOUNDPROOFING and uncomfortable stay
- Justin (10/5): Will definitely be back again next year - The owners are fabulous look after their visitors really well All good excellent place
- Amanda (2/5): The place was not clean, uncomfortable, lacking and despite nice owners we won't return. - The staff where friendly and helpful when we asked them for things - however the things we asked for included toilet paper and to turn the fridge in the kitchenette on (I feel like that should have been done and made available without us asking) There were spiders in the room - hairs on the bed - sink was leaking into the cupboard below it so we couldnt use the cupboard. There was only one little bar of soap provided and one towel for a two person booking.
The floor was disgusting.
- Whybrow (8/5): Very good - Peacefulness without people chatting outside your room early in the morning and no cars starting up early. TV could not be tuned in to any channel nor could it receive any smart phone signal to the TV screen. A little unusual not having a top sheet on the bed between you and the quilt.
- Jainder (7/5): Good -
- Alyicea (10/5): Peaceful and welcoming, relaxing amazing place to unwind away from everyone and everything very much needed - It’s a very good quiet place out of town to get away and have a relaxing night
The owners were great and very welcoming
Definitely top of my list Nothing not too like everything was good
- Melanie (6/5): Pleasant - Really, really lovely hosts, clean room, lovely shower and comfortable. A little bit more neglected than what we'd expected, we couldn't get Chromecast to work so had no tv and the aircon wasn't working very well. Overall everything is a bit time worn and neglected.
- Talia (10/5): Best home away from home - Bed was super soft, spa bath was soothing after a long day, nice quiet surroundings with stunning views and owner is so absolutely sweet and has the best hospitality. Nothing to fault here
- Rebecca (1/5): Not good at all - The quietness Unclean sheets. No top sheet. People entered my room when I was not there. Toilet was not clean. The place was overgrown. No facilities for a breakfast. Very poor considering how remote it is
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kitchin (10/5): Exceptional - Hari was very welcoming and made us feel relaxed and at home in his house. Our room was clean and comfortable and a perfect base for our time in the area.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Something different peaceful and welcoming i travel alot for leisure and adventure seeking. - Hosts are lovely ,beautiful house very welcoming yet left in peace with privacy ,great views from balcony vineyard and gardens are maintained but clearly not to bushiness running a functional operating buisiness anylonger..
No taxis here y I don't know they just don't take your booking many guests reported same issues I'm told..great value for money very welcoming hosts .
Good bang for your buck and super close to bunyip state forest etc...loved my stay I'll be back I missed out on a yummy cook up from hosts due to wearing myself out hiking Al day ,,smelt delicious though!!appreciated the kind offer
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janice (10/5): Peace & quiet - Perfect for get away from the city. Quiet and peaceful. Each room has en-suite, mini fridge and kettle
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (8/5): Comfortable accommodation in a beautiful location. - A great spot for a short stay. Very comfortable and clean accommodation in a beautiful and quiet location. Our host was very accommodating and helpful. Exceptional value for money.
- Carol (8/5): If you want a really quiet location with just sounds of the country side, then this is it. - We didn't have breakfast, there was no toaster or plates. But the place itself was a lovely location with very nice owners and helpful. It was warm and cozy and very clean. No toaster or plates.
- Sandra (9/5): Very comfortable and met our needs - Owners were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. Quiet peaceful place. We had trouble contacting owner for a few days but all good in the end.
- Grace (2/5): Disappointed - Hari was contactable through phone - shower head fell off when the tap was turned on - lucky my partner was tall and fixed it so we could attempt to have a shower
- there was no hot water - it was luke warm at best
- there was someone in the room allocated to us, and we were informed to go to another room
- self check in was difficult as key was not where it should have been
- TV did not connect to wifi through phone as advertised
- there was no kitchen or kitchenette in spite of photos advertised - fridge in kitchenette did not work and was covered in rust
- towels given were damp and wet - unsure if they were used before our arrival
- there was no soap or bath items - only half used body lotion bottles from other hotels
- there were spiders and spiderwebs in the shower, bathroom and bedroom
- half the lights were not working in the room
- there was evident dirt and debris between bed and bedside table
- Kathryn (7/5): Good -
- Lisa (7/5): it was nice but hair was off putting and needed more sugar - location was good was nice and roomy didn't like the long dark hair and short curly hair in the bed and long dark hair in bathroom area. And hardly any sugar for our tea and coffee so could only have 1 cuppa. We went through other rooms to find more sugar. needs a bit of maintenance
- Greg (9/5): Superb -
- Nerissa (10/5): peaceful, tranquility, relaxing in a beautiful spacious and lovely property. - it was amazing!! So spacious and fully equipped with everything you could think of. The owners were very generous and let us have a late checkout as well. Not to mention every bedroom was huge with an ensuite. Just lovely. nothing !
- James (1/5): absolutely ridiculous never able to find the entrance so rang. received no support, or refund - We were never able to find the Gypsy Creek winery We were promised a refund but received nothing
- Ian (1/5): Bad -
- Sheree2176 (6/5): Potential is there but below standard at the moment. - The place has so much potential and the owners are lovely people. Hari and his wife couldn’t have been more welcoming.
The communal living areas are well furnished and the kitchen was well set up.
With a little bit of overdue maintenance and TLC this place will become a beautiful retreat. Driving in and everything was overgrown.
When we got to our rooms 1 room had a bath spa with a note asking us not to use it as it leaks and the other room had a note asking not to use aircon as it leaks. The towels were poor and 1 room had no face washer or soap.
Other guest was very noisy at 7am Sunday morning but that is not Hari’s fault.
- Jenny (5/5): I wondered if it was a hidden camera thing🤣 - the room and kitchen was very large. it was a lovely quiet location. it was cheap. the whole experience was wierd, overgrown grounds, filthy carpet. The host was very confused about people arriving and called/messaged me at least five times (he was not on site). he had just taken the property over and it really isn’t ready for guests.
- Fiona (8/5): pleasant, beautiful scenery nice surrounds - Good supplies in communal kitchen, good fridges other people loud coming in late. No tv or Netflix
- Jon (8/5): Very good - Very spacious and the rural setting was relaxing.
Host was very friendly and helpful Required a little maintenance
- Tom (10/5): Fantastic - Everything is great. Location, surroundings, facilities, cleanliness, value for money, lovely owners Hari and Conney who go above and beyond.
- Tomo (7/5): Good - The house is clean and quiet. The owners are nice. The view is nice. wifi did not work well.
- Tomo (8/5): Very good -
