Yaruby (7/5): Good value and location for a short family stop in Kyoto. - The location was excellent, close to everything, and with easy access to the metro and major sites in Kyoto within walking distance. The host was responsive, and the place is aesthetically beautiful. The place was a bit dusty; overall, it felt like no one had stayed there. When I told the host, he did address it and sent a cleaning service to address the issues. Also it is very noisy as the walls are thin, so just be prepared. For us it was not a big issue as we were often tired from touring all day, so we slept through the noise, but if you are expecting quiet nights, or cannot sleep with city noises, then this place will be a challenge.
Wendy (9/5): This was one of the best stays we've had in Japan - we loved it and were sad to leave. - The house was more beautiful in person than in the photos, and the location is perfect - quiet and quaint but a short walk from major shopping and eating areas. Everything was clean and very comfortable, we had everything we needed. There were 5 of us total (2 adults + 3 big kids) and it was the perfect amount of space. We loved the little atrium garden and the view out onto the street from the second floor window. Honestly, nothing! It was perfect for us.
