- Robert (7/5): It’s a B&B. Good value , no evening meals. Next to the sea, car park. Walk to town. - Location, car park, breakfast
- Michael (6/5): -
- roger (6/5): Ok for the price. - It was ok as expected for the price of £40 per night. Room was cold, bathroom in particular. Main window had condensation.
- Happyrambler (6/5): Complicated place - Hotel rooms were clean neat and comfortable.
Water was hot. Was given a tip to run the hot tap when i turned on the shower. Water was hot.
Towels were great quality and thick. Outside area at entrance to the hotel almost made me run away
No hairdryer as advertised on booking .com
No hot chocolate.
After booking one night i decided to stay another. Paid same rate, but was left with wet towels from the day before. Little details that make a difference please .
Needs someone to go round and clean up litter aroynd the hotel outisde and bottles off rooftoos as seen from window.
Windows at the front need cleaning.
Hotel needs some small updates.
- Marta (5/5): Spędziłam jedną noc, ale otoczenie budynku i zaniedbanie nie zachęca do powrotu . - Obsługa i wygodne łóżka Hotel do remontu. Otoczenie okropne, nie wygląda na hotel . Brudno
- Andy (6/5): The building as well as the room should undergo renovation. - Close to amenities. Very basic equipped. Room could need some TLC
- David (6/5): Good value - basic - Good value Needs investment
- Philipjang (4/5): The hotel has a great location with nice views and easy access to the town centre, and the room was - On the positive side, the location is great, with a nice view and within walking distance of the town centre. We arrived, and there was no receptionist at the front desk. we had to call for assistance. The front office looked run-down and had an unpleasant smell, giving it a somewhat eerie atmosphere. The lift was broken, and the customer service was poor. We expected the hotel to be great, but it turned out to be the opposite.
The room itself was clean, but the facilities are outdated and in need of improvement. The shower was unreliable, with the water sometimes turning cold. There was also no breakfast provided. At night, the downstairs area felt a bit creepy.
In my opinion, it’s not really worth staying here.
- Zakhar (5/5): -
- Jordan (1/5): Disgraceful - Absolutely nothing dirty hotel broken window shower was cold terrible stay Couldn’t close window as it was broken and a busy work yard straight across the road with forklifts and Lorrie’s doing off all night couldn’t sleep a bit
- James (7/5): - Nice bed, lovely sheets and pillows. Quiet. Good breakfast. No hot water, so showered and shaved in cold water; not very pleasant 😒
- Andreica Leontin (1/5): - the view to the sea our experience was not very good, we had a beautiful view of the sea but the room and the location in general were not very good at all, I think something should be invested to make the location look better, we had no hot water, the room was dusty, the spoons and cups were dirty
- Oli (2/5): Smell of rape, murder and sweat - View of fish factory.. Really not
Looked after, smell , botched up jobs in room,
- Jen (7/5): Pleasant stay for a day or two - The room was spotless and had the basic facilities required. Nice and warm but you could also turn down the heater/open windows. Convenient location for local shops etc. The hotel has no restaurant facilities so you are unable to get breakfast. When we arrived there was no one on site and it took us a while to see the paper advising of a number to call for assistance. Also the lift was out of order and we were not informed of this prior to arrival which luckily was not a necessity for us.

- lady luck (6/5): Hotel definitely needs refurbishment. - Central to all amenities close to the beach, you can walk to all the shops only 5 mins walk. Parking right outside even though it states on booking.com no parking.Mark who was doing all Jobs couldn't do enough for you he was very pleasant and welcoming. We had to change rooms three times but the third room was more livable. Hotel is run down in need of a good refurbishment, very dated the plumbing definitely needs attention. They dont do food either. This hotel lacks alot of love care and attention. There is no toiletries so if you stay here you definitely need shampoo conditioner ect. Finally if you shower or bath here you must run the water for at least 5-10 mins before the water heats up.

- susan (6/5): Not for the faint hearted - The location , staff and the bar. Lift was broken,we had to carry an adult upstairs.
Some of the room’s radiators didn’t work, drafty windows. people slept with clothes and gloves.
Some taps had no water.
Tv didn’t work.
Needs updating.
- Robert (6/5): - For the price, it's a real good value Door latch was faulty and someone actually walked in one morning
- Scott (8/5): For the price alone, Excellent. - Value for money Cobwebs on the ceiling, been there awhile.
- Kyle (5/5): -
- Ian (4/5): -
- William (8/5): Friendly staff and locals.you have to try the food - The food. Absolutely amazing food. Especially the fish. Great value for money Nothing. It was fab
- Cyril (9/5): Very Good - Very good service. Excellent value for money
- Gary (4/5): - easy checking close to location, internet speed was good tho no hot water for shower, toilets don't flush properly
- Garry (7/5): Great value for money and the room provided all the requirements for a one night stay. - The price was excellent. The single bed was comfortable. The towels were good quality. The staff on the desk were helpful. Lots of power points. Had a desk and chair, which is useful for working with laptop. Also, the rate for the room was excellent compared to other establishments on offer. The decor was a bit marked. Only liquid soap in the bathroom. But it wasn't really a problem. It was a half hour travel from my work site but as it was just for one night that was OK.
- Christian (6/5): Good value for money, simple and probably adequate for work travel or a short stay. - Good value for money. Ocean views. Bar and restaurant downstairs (although restaurant might have permanently shut now). Easy walk to the high street. Everything looked tired and old and in much need of an upkeep.
If the restaurant is not operating now, there are no near by alternate options).
- Martin (6/5): Ok - Great location I was a great place to stay No heating in the bath, no hot water or hot water under the shower
- michael (10/5): No problems all good - Great value for this region Docks outside starting work at 04:30.
- Rikki (5/5): Don’t expect the Ritz but it’s passable for the money. - Great location and price. The shower was very powerful and roasting. The beds were clean and the towels were great. It’s really been neglected, would have the potential to be a great hotel but needs a lot of work. It’s very dated.
- David (1/5): Disaster - this hotel needs to be removed from booking.com - Nothing - the place is a disgrace Hospitality, room, facilities
- James Pattison (6/5): - There was no breakfast Nobody else in bar, wifi not available in bedroom, restaurant closed
- james (10/5): - Great ensuite room. Very clean and very quiet. Near town centre so convenient for local amenities. Highly recommended.
- Andrew (7/5): Friendly, great location and great value for money. - Great location. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Good overnight stay. - Great value nice warm room comfortable bed. Free car parking good location I will definitely stay here again. WiFi wasn’t great
- Alimcc77 (5/5): -

- Carol (5/5): Not the worse I've stayed in, but very far from the best. - There was a lady managing the hotel, the bar and the restaurant (on her own!) on the evening we arrived, who was very polite and helpful.
We enjoyed a very nice roast dinner in the restaurant. The servings were huge and we were able to take our leftover meat and potatoes in a takeaway container.
Our room was clean and had everything we needed (except hot water!) It was hard to identify the hotel when we first arrived as most of the letters from the hotel name on the front of the building are missing and the entrance is down a side lane.
The entire hotel is shabby and tired. Carpets and upholstery could do with a good clean.
We were warned that the hot water took a long time to come through to the bathroom. We gave up waiting and skipped the shower.
- Robert (9/5): - Parking and location No lift
- Bob (6/5): It was cheap so I suppose I got what I paid for. - Breakfast didn’t happen! The stairs
- Raymond (9/5): - Ideal central location Only stayed one night as my intention. But could not fault it.
- Sean (9/5): -
- David (6/5): -
- Melville (1/5): I did not stay - I booked into the hotel found my room
It was appalling in 25 years travelling for business in the uk and internationally I have never found a worse hotel I walked out and going the brigand barrel in Buckle ,the same price and excellent in many ways
Will certainly stay again in the brig and barrel as will my staff when working locally The hotel could not have been worse noteworthy of booking.com
- Angelika (9/5): Very convenient for one night stay - Location, very friendly and helpful staff, everything was clean and well maintained.
- John (8/5): -
- jonathan (5/5): -
- Gordon (7/5): Enjoyed our stay not as bad as some of the reviews make out. - Bit dated but large room with comfortable bed.Good shower if you run hot tap for a bit. Noisy seagulls
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Sorcha (8/5): - Very clean, conspicuously clean. Bedding was very neat and well ironed, and i appreciated the drinking water. The hotel itself is very well situated and its nice that there's a television in the room. Some of the decor looked outdated particularly in the cramped stairway. Heavy patterns and bright colors gave the hallways a bit of a claustrophobic air. Though it looked a lot better at night. My window was fogged throughout the two night stay, might be worth using a humidifier.
- Jaelectricalandcivil (6/5): Stayed while working in area bed comfy shower warm private - certain areas not clean
- Elita (7/5): value for money - It was the most affordable hotel we could find up north during the summer school holidays, and the price certainly reflected the quality of the stay. That said, the sheets were clean and fresh, and the towels were white and pleasant to the touch. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and we had a very good night’s sleep. The hotel is located by the seaside, offering beautiful views. Unfortunately, the downside was that the place didn’t seem to be well looked after. It felt neglected — the windows hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time, so we couldn’t fully enjoy the view as we otherwise would have. The pub on the ground floor was very quiet, with windows that looked unwelcoming; at first glance, we even wondered if the place was abandoned. The hotel rooms themselves were clean, with walls painted in light colors, but they were furnished with old furniture and old style carpets. Still, for the price, it was a good stay overall.
- Sharon (7/5): It was comfortable for 1 night stay. - It was convenient for our stay It was very tired.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent ensuite room. Very clean and very quiet. The hotel is located near the town centre so is very convenient for local amenities and attractions. Highly recommended.
- Alison (4/5): Disappointing room for the money we paid . Really needs a complete make over and not clean enough - Good view The room was very shabby and smelt of stale nicotine. The furniture and fittings really need a complete makeover. The carpet had stains and the room could have been cleaner
- Cameron (1/5): Disgusting - Outright disgusting, dirty floors covered in dog hair and mould all over the wardrobe and bedroom walls
- Kevin (8/5): Enjoyable nice people And! Did see Matt Damon who was in the locality shooting a movie👍 - My room and bed, slept great. Must be honest the hotel is very old and well used, so looks the worse for wear and lift not working. But I’m not complaining .People nice, has dining did not eat as I have family in locality. But the place was booked out.oh yea! Great ocean view👍 I would not criticise the hotel, as that’s a negative. Its seen better days but lots of places are finding it hard. I would stay there again
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent ensuite room, very clean and very quiet. A short walk to the town centre. Highly recommended.
- Alana (5/5): Passable - Great location. Hotel wasn’t noisy. Had an issue with the tv in the room and the staff were great. The bed wasn’t comfortable on one side, was a big dip in the mattress.
- Andy (8/5): Very good - Was spot on across the board
- Stuart (8/5): Great economical option - A small, characterful hotel located right on the seafront in Buckie. There's plenty of easy parking directly outside. Staff dealt with a late check-in very efficiently, none of the problems I've had elsewhere.
It's very well priced for what you get. I was only there for one night but would have been happy to stay longer. Wifi details in the room would have been handy. I was all ready for bed before I realised I couldn't log on, and didn't fancy getting dressed and trekking down to reception.
There's a bit of noise from a seafood factory opposite, nothing outrageous but light sleepers might want to request a room at the back of the hotel.
- Calum (8/5): Very good -
- Bev (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daryl (8/5): Nice Old Pub - Our room was large and clean with a comfy bed and large TV.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Our evening meal was very nice. As with other reviews there is an issue with the hot water for showers.
Definitely have to wait until others are finished or get in first as you will have a cold one.
The morning I showered early and had plenty of hot water.
- Underwood (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent ensuite room, comfortable bed. Very clean and very quiet. Near to town centre so convenient for local amenities. Highly recommended.
- Jacqueline (6/5): A little shabby - Within walking distance from shops. Had a view of the sea. The staff were very friendly and stocked the room with bottles of water, tea, coffee and biscuits. The room had a damp smell and the décor was shabby. The facilities were not very clean and the shower had no fans.
- Margaret (7/5): Going to a dog show around 20 minutes drive away. Ideal hotel for a 1 night stay. Staff excellent. - Dog show nearby N/A
- Allan (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (5/5): Ok for what we needed but wouldn't be suitable for a long-stay holiday. - The location was satisfactory for us because we were attending a junior golf tournament over the weekend. The overall standard of the room could best be described as "tired" and although reasonably clean it could do with being refurbished.
- Shah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (1/5): I want a refund, but I cannot talk to anyone at booking. Com so I am going to see my lawyer. - Did not stay the lift didn't work and my partner can't do stairs, the details you put up on line are outdated it's a dosshouse. When we arrived no one at reception, phoned a couple of numbers and waited 20 minutes to see someone, place was dark and neglected, no signage outside hotel..
- Craig (3/5): Not bad, not great. - The view was lovely. Fresh biscuits/water provided daily. Mattress was terrible, very soft and sunken, springs hurt the body and felt like it was on a slope with how work it was.
The room needs an injection of cash to bring it back up to standard. Lino coming up off the floor, bath sealant not sealing anything.
No fault of the hotel but the first night we were kept awake by someone banging on the door trying to get in, clearly didn't have their key. A staff member should have put a stop to this however.
- Bain (2/5): Very poor - The view Room was top floor, lift was broken, room was big inside, but bed was horrendous, room was dark due to 1 small light, having a shower we had to run the tap in the sink to get a bearable warm shower
Cleanliness wasn't great cobwebs everywhere
Wouldn't recommend or stay again
- Lucy (9/5): Superb -
- Shah (10/5): Exceptional - Best hotel in Buckie 5 stars
- John (8/5): Wee gem on the Moray Coast Trail. - It was a real pleasure to enjoy such fine hospitality after a long day of walking the Moray Coast Trail.
The restaurant was delightful and I can fully recommend the haddock and chips with a glass or two of pinot grigio.T There was nothing to dislike.
- Stuart (2/5): Very poor - Peeling wallpaper.
Showers temperamental.
The whole place needs an overhaul.
- Geraldine (3/5): Needs updating - Lift wasn’t working, husband recovering from knee replacement and had to walk up stairs to third floor. Window opening bars broken so couldn’t close windows, shower head so badly corroded up it would have been a health hazard to use, totally needed replacement my brother in law’s was exactly the same.Milk cartons by kettle were weeks out of date as tea/coffee tasted awful 😢 Did report
The Kettles need updating very unhygienic. Really disappointed really feel you should be reviewing this hotel even the pictures shown on website with outside picture the hotel letters are missing from the name now.
Doesn’t give you any confidence upon arrival neither does the reception area.
We have traveled with you a lot over UK and Europe but this hotel is totally disappointing. PLEASE REVIEW it URGENTLY
- James (3/5): Very poor accommodation, disappointing to say the least, give this one a miss if your thinking of staying in Buckie. - The size of the room was good and the bed as well.
Apart from that, there was nothing else good about this property. We had no hot water for the entirety of our stay, this was in spite of being told that hot water would eventually come through the bathroom tap and shower, after letting them run for a while, this was not the case.
The hotel is very run down, windows were filthy and just not a nice place at all.
We decided not to stay for our 2nd night and even took the hit on our payment.
- Frances (8/5): Very good - We had a good stay at the Marine. The bedroom was spotless. Although the bathroom was clean it's like all older hotels and needs some upgrading but it didn't bother us. We had a meal in the Restaurant and it was lovely. Great value for the money and large portions of food. Breakfast was also good. It was great value for the money. Will certainly use the Hotel if we are back I 😀
- Paterson (8/5): Very good -
- David (7/5): Good - Nice evening meal, great table service. Rooms great value for the money and clean/tidy for our stay.
- Mickeymac1601 (9/5): My stay - The food is top notch. Staff are very welcoming and tentative.
Parking out front. Sea view. Control your own room heating. Kids running around late at night disturbing the peace. Must have had too many Easter eggs
- Gregg (7/5): Good -
- Jim (10/5): Will return shortly. - No problems The weather !
- Maclellan (7/5): Good -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (1/5): Bad -
- Teresa (8/5): Old property but what we saw and used was very good - Contrary to first sight, the room we had was very acceptable. Comfortable, clean and warm. Mind you, you would need your porridge and ironbru to turn the taps 🤭 The downstairs was also nicely decorated, had the daily roast and it was very good too Very old property, obviously has seen better days, but we had a great stay 👍🏼
- Jamie (7/5): Good -
- Gerard (6/5): Decent wee hotel for a short stay - The staff were all really lovely, the bed was comfy, the location was good and the price was reasonable. The decor was a little dated and there was no hot water in the showers.
- Andy (5/5): Reasonable Price but property needs TLC - Convienant and low priced Property is in need of renovation. Needed TLC. The welcome was not as warm as it should be
- James (9/5): Superb - Cheap and functional. Very clean
Good value for money
