Guest Reviews
- Martin (8/5): - Stilvolles Ambiente in wunderbarem Garten und sehr fein geplantem Altbau. Oberlicht im Bad!;)
- Peter (7/5): very charming bed, not so great breakfast - very charming and homey the breakfast was a very sad spread. toast, overcooked hardboiled eggs, a few berries and yogurts, cereal
- Qian (10/5): - Cozy house in a small town along CA 1. Cute decorations and nice breakfast.
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Lila (9/5): Great - The property was great There is nothing we didn’t like
- Kenny James (10/5): Quiet, safe, clean, cute. - Nice room.
- Enrico (10/5): Very last minute and much needed recharging, Thank You - Ease of location to shopping and walking access to downtown, parking was provided and easy access, rooms are thoughtfully amended with everything we needed, including no TV, very welcoming to relax and enjoy the property, breakfast was provided and always had an excellent assortment of food and drinks. The next door shop was closed, we enjoyed browsing through their thoroughly stocked shelves and inventory on our prior trips.

- Hans (10/5): When you see the house and step into the garden, you feel transported back in time. The house is very well maintained, a - A special place that is rarely found elsewhere. ./.
- Sally (10/5): Perfect stay - Loved the charm, the comfortable room, the decor and the location. One of our favourite stays on our Californian road trip so far. Very minor but the bed a little too soft for our liking. That’s purely preference though!
- Tina (10/5): - Beautiful gardens, cozy linens, wonderful location. It was so charming!
- Hwa-Chun (8/5): - Location was very good if you are interested in exploring downtown, but not so much if you want to be next to the ocean.
Wonderful garden, beautiful flowers, tranquillizing environment The bathroom door was translucent, we did not realize there was a pull down shade to help with privacy.
There were ample street parking spaces, but not during dinner time. We happened to arrive around six and could not park close enough to unload.
There were no cups in the room.
- liat (9/5): A special house with a magical garden and lots of places for beautiful photos. - The house is very special, the location is excellent on a beautiful street. We got a room on the second floor with a lot of narrow stairs. I don't remember there being information about this in the reservation, and it made it difficult to move the luggage.
- Guest (9/5): -
- Robert (9/5): - Breakfast and staff were great. Nicer pillows.
- Susan (10/5): - The room was very large and had a cute balcony and very comfortable window seat. It was so Very quaint and cozy. We enjoyed the breakfast and great location to walk around down town. Plenty of parking right in front Nothing
- Francisco (9/5): -
- Rufenacht (8/5): - We enjoyed the location and the gardens. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast was great and we really enjoyed visiting with other guests at breakfast. Overall it was a good choice for us. The stairs were steep and a challenge for us. When we booked the room it was unclear whether or not our room was on the first or second floor. It would be helpful to include room location on the booking page.
- Philipp (10/5): - The property is very well maintained and set in a beautiful environment with plenty of privacy. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. The rooms were clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Overall, it created a very relaxing atmosphere.

- Michele (10/5): Lovely restored Victorian. If the rain continued, would've hung out in barn's library/game room. - Self check-in instructions very well explained. Clean, beautiful location to stay. Breakfast very good and variety. Love the grounds. Used Squibb House as home base and went out and explored daily. convieniently located to coast and day trips to the areas north such as San Simeon and South such as Harmony, Cayucos and Morro Bay. I would stay again. If the shower head could move. The water pressure good and water hot.

- Rémi (10/5): - Accueil super
Chambre super charmante
- Jennifer (8/5): - Breakfast was great. Also liked having an extra living space to read in the evening. Like the location. Instructions for getting in with the key could have been more clear.
- diana (10/5): I highly recommend you stay here - Loved that it was downtown. The property is unique, nice looking, clean w nice garden. The Hickory room in the Black Barn was warm, cozy and very comfortable w a small balcony overlooking a patio area. High wood beamed ceilings and handmade wooden furniture.
Well done! Breakfast was yummy too. 👍🏼
- GARY (9/5): Comfortable stay in the heart of Cambria. - Nice room, very spacious and very clean. The breakfast was good, definitely not great. The hot items were precooked. Bread was not fresh. Juice tasted like it came from a container. Coffee was so-so. Also we only discovered the dedicated off street parking after we checked out. Nothing was said about it in the arrival instructions.
- Oz Surfer (8/5): Nice and felt like home - Very nice amenities with room close to kitchen and access to living room. Walk outside and your in downtown.
- Wendy (9/5): Convenient, relaxing, peaceful place to call home while exploring the beauty of the area. Walk to dinner, stress free, - Location and comfort
Esperienza stupenda.

- Rodger (9/5): So peaceful. Great vibe!! - The calm vibe Nothing
- Joshua (9/5): Satisfactory - We liked the location of our stay being right in the middle of downtown. The breakfast was very good with many options, including dietary issue inclusions. Our primary complaint would be that the room was advertised as darker thematically than it was.
- JOE (10/5): -
- Anne (10/5): Loved it! - Delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, friendly and welcoming staff
- Andriena (8/5): Overall our stay was great - Breakfast was great! Great location!
- Karol (10/5): -
- WILLIAM (9/5): - Breakfast and location and over-all ambience was quite good. We were not warned that the room which Booking had for us was upstairs, with steep stairway, and no elevator. The
Squibb House staff made the best adjustment possible to help us.
- Hakki (10/5): Perfect place to stay - I loved the age of it. It is an old building, when I say “old”, it is not a bad thing. Just opposite, it shows a lot of memories. It is good may be for the people close to my era, especially tired of modern looking but “old” (I mean lot of tear an wear) small motels, which are also charging prices, totally doesn’t match with their quality.
I saw one lady, as a staff, who was preparing beautiful breakfast, and she was also was best match for the character of this amazing place.
The other thing is the location. After having few hundreds miles on my bike, I feel like I deserve a good dinner with a little bit of a drink to relax. And I do not ride, if I even smell the alcohol. So, this place was few steps away from very good restaurant.
I will definitely come again.
- Wayne (10/5): Really enjoyed everything - Great location in the heart of town. Ample parking. Tatsey breakfast. Comfortable quaint room.
- Romeo (9/5): -
- Sanchez (8/5): Great service, location and the staff was superb. - The breakfast location and breakfast were excellent. Nothing
- MARK (9/5): Wonderful! Great place and great town! - We love the location and the house itself! We did not take advantage of the breakfast so cannot report on that. We will definitely return! The house was cleaned with very strong smelling chemicals on Friday. When we returned, it was so strong we had to have all doors and windows open for over an hour to air it out
- Josr (6/5): I would stay there again. - Great location, basic amenities and clean and tidy The check in process is easy but the instructions a bit unclear
- Linda (4/5): Spent our 36th anniversary at this B&B. - Location, close to everything in downtown Cambria. Breakfast included. The room was very small with no TV. The chairs were very uncomfortable so they need a loveseat or something. The steps going up to the room were very steep and narrow, so that felt dangerous. Lots of noise all night with the cars. Felt like you were sleeping on the street. The shower was not that great. Very small bathroom. We didn’t see the value for the money. We paid $200. Neither of us got much sleep. Sheets were all scratchy. Our noses were all stuffed up and we’re not sure why maybe the chemicals they use for cleaning, I don’t know. It was more like a $69 room. We wouldn’t stay here again. We’re not sure how it got a nine star rating.
- Kristina (7/5): -
- Balfour (8/5): Enjoyable, but too short. - Very quaint Victorian centrally located. Cheerful helpful staff. Unfortunately we didn't arrive until 4:30 and by the time we checked in and got settled the town had started closing up for the night. We plan to come back and stay a couple of days so we can really explore Cambria.
- Nancy (8/5): Great place, limited sound privacy at times. - The Breakfast, the environment and the ambiance were amazing! Our room in the loft was clean and beautiful. Main bed was very comfortable. , We stayed in the loft with a false 4th wall. As a result we had limited auditory privacy and could hear if anybody came into the common room below. Our third bed was squeaky. But still very nice for the value and fine if nobody is making any noise or needs verbal privacy.
- Esther (9/5): -
- William (9/5): Felt very homey - Charming and warm
- Scott (8/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): - I always come to Cambria Christmas Market, and I always parked in that area. Happy to discover this! Always dream to visit and stay there. I really love it and hope to stay here again someday.
- Anne (10/5): So much character very charming very cozy - Everything Nothing
- Hinde (6/5): - Comfortable room with ideal location. Nice to have a shop next door that sells Amish goods. The breakfast was minimal, the same each day. No comfort food (e.g., casseroles, warm eggs or fresh baked goods).
- Douglas (10/5): A great spur of the moment getaway - Easy check in and out. Friendly staff
- Johnny (10/5): Charm in Cambria - Charming close to the heart of Cambria. Very beautiful gardens, we loved the rockers on the porch and the claw foot tub.
- Donald (10/5): Wonderful - Cozy…. Feels like being transported back in time❤️
- Ingeborg (10/5): -
- Shaun (10/5): Loved the Squibb House Will return again - Beautiful interior very comfortable
The breakfast was exceptional and the staff
Was exceptionally great very warm and welcoming. Nothing
- William (9/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Liked the old feel but would have liked to see more staff. Someone to say good morning - It was quiet and the bed and sheets very comfortable. Did not see the parking that was available so had to park in the street. It was not marked. Breakfast was so so. No staff seen but I guess some people would like that.
- Dave & Jeanette (8/5): -

- May (10/5): - The inn has a strong nostalgic atmosphere, and both my husband and I like it very much. The location is amazing. The breakfast was delicious, just like at home.
- INNA MARIA (10/5): - TO ME SQUIBB HOUSE IS AWESOME AS I REALLY LOVE OLD FASHIONED ENGLISH BED AND BREAKFAST WITH LONG TABLE FOR ALL GUESTS TO MEET AT BREAKFAST... MOST BEAUTIFUL GARDEN WITH FLOWERS AND BUTTERFLIES... PEACE... LOVE... EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN... I OFTEN STOP HERE WHEN TRAVELING TO NORTHERN CA...
Keinerlei Kritik
- PRISCILLA (9/5): -
- Dawn (10/5): - Centrally located;
Well-appointed;
Friendly staff;
Lovely grounds and interior space. All good! 👍🏼
- Carrie (10/5): -
- krsto (7/5): Overall, we enjoyed our stay as the location was great. - It felt very nostalgic as it reminded me of my grandmother's home. Loved the items and pictures and letters about the history of the home. After reading some of the comments about your breakfast, I expected much more of a breakfast than what we received. I am not a fan of store bought Costco egg dishes to serve. I did enjoy the granola with fresh fruit and greek Yougart.
I was also a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. Under the bed was dusty.
- Esther (6/5): I enjoyed the old house but it needed some tlc - Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Location was very good. The bed was comfortable The bed was too high. I could not reach light over sink in the room. The stairs were very steep. The shower spout was also too high. The shower certainly had pink mold on the bottom.
- Uli (9/5): - perfektes Frühstück
- Mariam (10/5): Excellent stay. - Beautiful, clean and excellent location. An uplifting historic home. I’m so happy I was able to stay here. And little pastries appear in the parlor nightly. So lovely!
- Irma (8/5): Great location. - Great location, walking distance near plenty of great restaurants and downtown. We had easy access to our room through the garden walkway. We were able to park on the street in front of B&B. Not much.
- Cristina (9/5): - Nel centro di Cambria. Casa davvero bella, d’epoca mantenuta in eccellente stato. Zona comune con caminetto e divani comodi. La stanza molto ampia, letto grande e comodo. Tutto perfetto. Colazione abbondante e deliziosa. Tutto perfetto!
- INNA MARIA (10/5): :) - FREE OF EXCEPTIONS PERFECTION! TOTAL CO-RESONANCE WITH HEART AND SOUL... ESPECIALLY FLOWERS AND BUTTERFLIES... AND DEEP PEACE... DEEP GRATITUDE!
- Claudia (9/5): - Location
- thierry (9/5): - Tres bon petit dejeuner
- Janyce (10/5): very quaint B&B like stepping back in time. Could use a little work . Make sure you get a room with a porch - Very quaint building with older charm. No air conditioning. Breakfast was exceptional Further from beach than I thought. Construction going on right behind our porch so no privacy
- Paul (10/5): Felt like we went back in time. Quiet peaceful very down to earth comfortable stay - The house and room was great. location teriffic quiet breakfast included. THE Atmosphere one of the best times at a stay over. Love the Victorian old nostalgic motif .Close to everything. No TV but to be honest didn't miss for a night would have liked scrambled eggs and sausage with potatoes for breakfast
- Amelita (10/5): - Wonderful overnight stay: clean, great location, easy parking, a quick walk to the town/Main Street, breakfast included, great value for price! José the gardener made our visit by letting us know about the different plants and flowers that they planted/maintain at the Squibb House. He was so friendly and personal-really made our visit such a treat! We will definitely come back when visiting Hearst Castle and the elephant seal rookery!
- Anna (10/5): Needs a new lease of life - Old fashioned comfortable. Great service and breakfast.it looks very tired. Would be wonderful if it was updated and spruce up.
- Darren (9/5): -
- Raps (9/5): -
- Joana (8/5): - Quaint and cozy place! Decent location and welcoming staff. For a bed & breakfast, breakfast selections could be better
