• Petre (10/5): The room was very nice and comfortable, great stay. - Mary will give the best onboarding and things to do if you’re lucky to run into her. Firm rules of checkout, no grace period, no budging. The breakfast is ok, not as fancy as the pictures show and it has a one hour window, 8-9am. The coffee is taken away at 9:10.

• Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the cleanliness and surprising privacy of the room. We loved the staff....in particular Mary who was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also terrific.
• Victor (9/5): Superb - A stunning period house with lots of extravagantly decorated rooms, including multiple rooms that can be used for hanging out (lounge, parlor and library). Very friendly staff, luxuriously equipped bedrooms (stunning bathroom in particular); and of course, the included pies!! Delicious and it feels like being a guest in someone's home. Cooked breakfast was simple but good. It might be prudent to take an eye mask if you're a light sleeper or want to sleep in in the morning: in our room at least, there were no curtains, just some shades that don't block out light very well. We ended up sleeping rather poorly because of a floodlight over the parking lot that illuminated our whole room all night.
• Amanda (7/5): Average - Breakfast and location was the best part. If I knew about all the stairs I wouldn't have stayed. The sheets and robes were crunchy and the blanket smelt old. The tub is only for one person and thougtht it would be a spa tub for two.

The property is an interesting history and the building is very well preserved and maintained in rooms. Beautifully appointed, the beds are excellent, and the bathrooms were immaculate. Mary was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was somewhat disappointing. The scone was way too sweet and there is no fresh fruit, which would’ve been nice. The cheese omelette and the bacon were fine but we expected more.

• Mary (6/5): - This was listed as a 4 star property B and B. Breakfast was only from 8:00AM-9:00AM, on the Weekend! We are seasoned travelers, all around the world, and found this a bit strict for a weekend at $400. Approximately per night! Be warned. We are hardworking 50 hours per week executives, and we are not getting up early on our precious weekends off, at that price. If it were $200 per night, we would understand.
• Mts13 (10/5): Excellent evening in Rockland - Returned after 23 years and still as delightful and welcoming as the first time even under different ownership! Emma was a lovely young lady who greeted us, and helped another couple celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary plan out daily hikes. She was resourceful and interesting. Lovely attic room with pitched ceilings, gas fireplace (which we were unable to turn on even though the pilot was lit). Linens very nice quality. Large bathroom with clawfoot tub and nice toiletries. Breakfast was delicious prepared by the owner John and served by his son John V. I didn't realize there was a thermostat in our room until the next morning so it was a tad chilly and could have used another blanket or a warmer blanket than a cotton matelasse. Extractor fan in bathroom seemed to run all night even though the light was off. One hour window for breakfast seemed unusually short. Lighting in living room could be improved for reading but library was perfect.
• Patrice (10/5): Treat yourself and stay here. - Breakfast was lovely. The bacon was perfection, the scones an absolute delight. The place itself is utterly stunning. It was a splurge for us, but well worth it. We would recommend it to anyone who appreciates victorian era sensibilities. We simply enjoyed everything and have nothing negative to say. Staff was very friendly. Just charming.
• Peter (6/5): Pleasant - The room was large, comfortable and clean. The hosts were courteous and the food was okay. When I booked the reservation I had asked for gluten free meals since I am celiac. Given the extra time to prepare I had expected that I would get a meal similar to what was being offered the other guests. Unfortunately that was not the case. As a B&B proprietor myself for a booking.com listed property in California, I go the extra mile to ensure that guests with special food needs are well taken care of. When the guests were offered a danish to start the meal the first day, I was given nothing. On the second day, the other guests were served french toast, but not for me. I was given scrambled eggs and 1 piece of bacon both days. Additionally the Wifi was absolutely horrible, about 5-6 mb down.

The room was clean, and it was easy to regulate the temperature of the room. The bed was super comfortable. A short walk to downtown for restaurants and walking path. We loved it all… we can’t wait to return in the winter (so we can use the fireplace in the room)!

The property is also very convenient to the downtown area of Rockland and many other attractions nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

It was fun having pie to eat when we got there late! The room was nice and very clean, the bathroom was very nice as well (even more than the room!) The inside needs a little love. Some new paint, especially on the stairwell, and the paintings on the walls took away from the beauty of the home.

• Kevin (6/5): - The building is in good shape, spacious room, good period condition. Lovely greeting by Emma, delicious fresh fruit pies. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Our issue stems from feeling like we were scolded to stay off first floor before 8:00am. The evening lights were not welcoming, we went to bed at 8:00pm. No where to sit on first floor because all space is set up for breakfast. The grounds need bush trim, trees have outgrown their space. you have to walk around the trees to stay on the path. Breakfast was good but no choices given, nor amounts. One strip of bacon? No fruit. All in all, I guess you can’t expect much for services from a B&B, but for $350, we would not give Exceptional as a rating.
