• Pedro (9/5): Excellent - Great location by the lake, with plenty of restaurants nearby. The bungalow is spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, with a very comfortable bed. The family who run the place are really kind and do their best to make you feel welcome. Breakfast is delicious and freshly made. You can also rent a bike from them and cycle through the rice fields.

The bed was large and comfortable. The room was surrounded by the most beautiful gardens. The only negative I could pick was the fridge wasn't in so took a while to cool down.

• Sheila (7/5): - Location was excellent once you got there. The pool area was nice. Good hot water for a shower. Clean. Comfortable beds. Quiet in the evenings. The room is cramped. We had to remove two chairs to find space to open my bag. My friend utilized the king bed and opened her bag on half of it. Our room was noisy early morning as I think it backs onto a restaurant. It was dimly lit with one fluorescent light over the door and one in the bathroom. The overall feel when drapes closed dark and dingy.

Possibility to rent scooters and bikes at the hostel. Good breakfast with the opportunity to ask for freshly made omelets and (great) banana pancakes. Calm environment. Situated on the other side of the lake, a bit off-centered but offers a calmer location.

The staff were outstanding, they helped us organize our transportation and took care of everything, which made our trip completely stress-free. Their support really made a big difference. Fantastic location, great service, and excellent value. We would definitely stay here again.

• Bridget Bates (9/5): - Location and staff. Second time visiting this place as it's just a great place to stay when wanting to stay in tam coc. Walking distance from so many restaurants yet still feels hidden away from the main bustle. Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast options aren't the best. Rather eat at a cafe nearby. And the rooms aren't very sound proof so you aren't always guaranteed to not hear conversations happening next door if guests are loud.

La familia que trabaja en el hotel muy buena gente, le pedías algo que necesites y ellos hacen lo posible para que tu estés bien. Tienen lavandería, alquiler de moto y tours. Quizás al estar 3 días no hacen el servicio de habitación, como poner nuevas toallas o hacer la cama. Pero para mí no fue ningún problema.
• Vicky (8/5): A lovely and affordable stay by the lake - Lovely location out of the way and by the lake. Quite basic but had everything we needed. A few ants here and there but we’ve found that’s quite common on our travels. One of our lamps wasn’t working so they quickly got us a new one. Pool looked a little tired but we weren’t going in there anyway so didn’t worry us! Breakfast was also basic but did the job and was fresh and tasty. Would still recommend as the price was very reasonable and our room was very spacious so worked well for us. Hiring cycles is also really easy - we got them for free for two hours
• Judy (7/5): beautiful but rather simple place for staying - It was very beautiful property with lots of vegetation! location was spot on, right by the lake! the staffs were kind, helpful and accommodating! we even had breakfasts, the coffee was the best part! many things were not working, the door was poorly installed and the sockets weren't working. looks like the place was poorly maintained and the car cannot come in so you'll have to walk with your suitcases

So noisy in the morning as our room was next to the breakfast area. The seating around to pool really needs cushions or to be replaced, we would have used the pool otherwise. The garden was really nice and the staff were incredibly friendly. They helped me to book my bus to my next destination. The buffet breakfast was really nice and filling, with lots of options to choose from. If I’m ever back in Tam Coc I would stay here again. Nothing, everything was perfect.

• Ghysels (10/5): Amazing - I had an amazing stay there, was greeted by a lovely woman and even whole staff is great a caring. Breakfast is good, the place is located near the centre but at the same time it's quiet and calm ''serene bungalow'' I recommend hands down.
• Luciano (9/5): Perfect stay by the river - The bathroom in the dorms was huge, the shower is away from the toilet. I liked it has tables close to the river to grab breakfast. Good breakfast with eggs, pancakes, fruits, coffee, tea.
• Hadar (2/5): It's not worth it. - Actually, I don't get how this place is 8 and something on booking+ takes nice amount of money for the rooms.. Breakfast was OK , not great not terrible.. Worst thing was the noise isolation - we had the private room with a wall adjacent to the reception + tables for breakfast + hangout area - the wall was like paper regarding noise, we heard all the talks and chats. When trying to move a room (after numerous attempts to find a staff member) - they couldn't move us and we were stuck with the noise (couldn't sleep at times). Reception was practically non existent half of the time, upon arrival in the evening we waited for 15 minutes for someone, during the day it was also hard to come by them. Hot water was limited with small boiler. Place was super moldy (exceptionally in terms of more than a month in Vietnam) - so terrible smell. *All* the towels we got were stained and run down..and that is after asking for new and clean ones. Small room. Value for money - 0.

It’s very central to Tam Coc, just a seven minute walk to all the restaurants etc. I’m pleased I took her advice. I had booked a room for myself, but dorms are available.

Close to the town and offered a great breakfast. Hot water seemed to run out very quickly before you had to heat it up again. Our bungalow was attached to what seemed like a kitchen area of the hostel next door with loud noises and shouting between 6-7am each day. Thin walls so can hear other bungalows.

Lovely view of the river and easy to rent bikes and motorbikes. Staff did not speak English well and there were some miscommunications. The vibe of the hostel was also a little funky as the common areas were a Bit odd

It was really cheap to hire bikes for the day and the central location made it easy to get to places Pool could be cleaner and there wasn’t always someone on reception when we needed them

Bungalows were spacious and beds comfy. We rented a moped from the hotel which was convenient for getting around and ran smoothly.

It looked much nicer on the pictures, but the place was cozy, clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The scooter rental is pretty good, since you can rent for half a day. The doorlock didn’t work properly, but it could lock with a little push, so no trouble there. I wish they gave you a thicker blanket or duvet. Also the shower needs a shelf to place your soap and shampoos. There was no hairdryer, but it was also quite affordable, so it’s understandable. The scooters had barely any gas when they give them to you.

There wasn't a light in each bunk, just one light for the whole room. The locker was only big enough for small valuables and there was no lock system on the dorm door, so if you're concerned about bigger valuables there's nowhere super safe to keep them.

The whole complex is really nice lots of flowers and directly at the water. Bicycle renting worked really well. And the breakfast was also yummy. I really enjoyed my stay and felt super welcome. Bungalow was a bit old you couldn't really close the door fully but you were still able to lock it. Shower flooded the bathroom but it wasn't a big deal.

Room was big, comphy bed, clean sheets, pillows etc. Please be aware that any transfer or taxi cannot be arranged directly to bungalows. But this is not big issue, 2minute walk solve the problem. • Niamh (10/5): The comfiest, and most relaxing stay - Everything seemed brand new in the bungalow I stayed in. The room was clean and the i had the comfiest bed! The location was close to everything however you couldn’t hear any noises from the bars and karaoke. The staff were so friendly and I was even able to have a shower before I left for my bus in the evening. The breakfast included was delicious with a choice of hots drinks and a juice. Although the sun didn’t come out for me to use the pool it looked like a great area to hang out by. There wasn’t many people there when I was staying, this is more of a place to relax and chill. • Beth (9/5): Excellent service and value! - We enjoyed the quiet location away from the busier side of Tam Coc. We hired a scooter for 120,000VND and also had laundry done at 50,000VND/ kg. The hotel was very quiet during our stay, and we often had the pool to ourselves. Breakfast is an a la Carte offering where you get to pick 1 coffee/ tea, 1 fresh juice and 1 hot dish. Our shower overflowed onto the bathroom floor when we used it.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Light sleeper - I had noticed upon arrival a chicken coup near the entrance to the bungalows and was reminded of a previous review about this. As a light sleeper perhaps I should have taken it more seriously. Anyway the first two nights were perfect. We had a room which backed onto a mountain and it was surprisingly very quiet. Great I thought. This is perfect. However, we had to move into another nearby bungalow due to a leaking problem with the toilet. I don't know why because this bungalow was only metres away from the first but around 3am I was woken by the cockerels and they crowed endlessly throughout the rest of the night. This also happened the next night also. Need less to say I got very little sleep. However, to be fair my wife was oblivious to this and said she heard nothing. My advice would be if you are a light sleeper bear this in mind and consider you may be woken up during the night. Everything else about this place was very good and I would consider it very good value for money. The location is very good and the surrounding scenery is quite beautiful, right beside the river. Very pleasant experience eating breakfast in the garden while watching the boats go by. The room and bathroom are very spacious and clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The staff were also friendly and helpful and organized our transport at an affordable price which all went smoothly. I liked this place despite the early wake up calls.

• Colin (10/5): we met our daughter and her partner on their 12 month travels. This place couldn’t have been more perfect for us all. l - the location, the whole village style setup, the atmosphere. • Megan_Ozzie (10/5): Excellent place to stay! - The rooms are large, very clean and beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is a decent size, not pokey and there’s a proper shower screen. No tv but you don’t need one. There’s a beautiful outlook onto the central garden, a nice pool and it’s located on the River about 5 mins walk from town centre. I could easily have stayed longer in this oasis if I had time. The family running the bungalows are friendly and laid back. They let me check out 2 hrs later because I was sick. Thank you 🙏

• C (6/5): My stay here was adequate at best - Location is excellent. 5 min. Walk to town center but far enough away from the noise. Staff was very friendly. They picked us up at the marina when we first arrived. Room was large, Wi-Fi was good, THe place seemed deserted. Not sure if this is because of Covid or just low season. Seemed like we were staying at a place that was past it’s prime Towels were not good. Hot water was iffy.

• Vitaly (7/5): Don't expect too much. Pay for the unique experience - Welcoming host. Nice breakfast (scrambled eggs + pancakes), but same every day. Nice location. Boats traveling the most scenic waterway are passing just by your bungalow. Swimming pool to relax. Very basic facilities. We didn't have hot water the second night. Water pressure was low. If you intend to just spend 1-2 nights there, it's okay'ish.
• TillyWilly94 (4/5): A little misleading - Pictures very misleading. Fine for price, but definitely more of a backpacker vibe. The host doesn’t speak much English which made trying to meet our tour very tricky. Hotel is run out the back of their house- definitely a home stay, not a hotel. Food was fine and everyone was friendly, but cleanliness was juuuust passable. Photos are not realistic- they do not seem to use the bungalows pictured here, just some out the back that are quite dark and dank. Rooster also does wake up calls at 5am. In a good location to get around, and scooter rental is $6AUD so that’s decent
• AnuJ858 (8/5): Nice Stay - Nice Stay with family bungalow owner. Great big room and big bathroom. Good breakfast and Nice pool. View near river good. Although we had A Nice Stay we had some minor down points of tips die Them. We were the only guests at that moment, unfortunately they worked on the bungalow area which made a lot of noise. They were not clear about the trips arrangeing and so due to this communication problems we were not even sure we would leave that day :( I know they want to make it better and i hope u succeed, but one advice to learn more english and take care of your guests a little more.
• AK_Gurl (10/5): Best Shower! - After traveling by bus from Cat Ba we arrived in Tam Coc after dark. We found our way there using the well placed signs. It was a little bit of a walk from ‘town center’ with our bags, but manageable-no taxis can fit back there anyway. The location was excellent-beautifully situated right on the river. It was neat to enjoy the included breakfast while watching the cave boats go by. The gardens surrounding were also very nice-I spent some time reading on my porch. The best part was the shower. After a week or so of traveling hot water and water pressure were variable. This was my first good shower in Vietnam! Staff was helpful booking transportation, giving recommendations, and generally very welcoming. I’d stay again-even though it was one of the more expensive options.
