Guest Reviews
- Thomas (10/5): - We had the room with the private balcony. It was awesome Nothing all was fine
- Lacy (8/5): -
- Jeff (9/5): -
- Prime (8/5): -
- Christopher (9/5): - Comfortable room, great location
- Robert (10/5): - They did not offer breakfast onsite, but there is a wonderful array of options within a 10 minute walk or 2 minute car ride. All the local places were good! There is nothing we did not like. We have stayed 4 times in 3 years and plan to return next season! We recommend this place regularly to others.
- Lynda (10/5): It was wonderful. Family owned and operated by family. - We have stayed there several times. It’s clean, quaint and super convenient to shopping, beach, casino and restaurants. Nothing
- molly (10/5): Great value and - Cute place right on the harbor, close to town and the excellent coffee shop with wonderful pastries.
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- Danielle Landgrebe Davis (1/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Great visit - Location, cleanliness, just as advertised can't think of anything
- Timothy (10/5): -
- Abby (8/5): -
- Jan (10/5): Perfect lodging for a couple’s weekend!! - Extremely clean and accommodating. Very close to shopping, restaurants, and Casino. Also, close to the beach and Indiana Dunes Park.
- Alan (6/5): Quite acceptable - Basic 3 star hotel without front desk- definitely acceptable for its location & quiet
- Kebrina (10/5): - It was a great location. Kinda pricey for what it was but in the middle of everything and not terrible. Great check-in procedure and check-out. It was great. We thought we booked a double bed and two twin beds and it was just a sofa bed and two twin beds.
- Lisa (8/5): Michigan City little gem - The Bridge in a cute complex of buildings. While you can indeed see the bridge from all 3 buildings, it is not exactly the water view you will be looking for, BUT the place is very convenient to Indiana Dunes, the staff was great at communications, the apartment was quite comfortable and equipped with coffee, tea and even hot chocolate!
They even provided ear plugs, but the trains were not a problem so we never used them!
Loved the Paya shampoo and lotion.
While we enjoyed dinner elsewhere, I think the atmosphere alone would be reason enough to try the Bridges Cafe in the complex!
- Andrea (3/5): -
- Anne (10/5): - Great, picturesque location. Nice little amenities in the room. Very friendly, efficient staff.
- Patrick (10/5): - Fun little spot full of personality. Cool outdoor bar and grill right nextdoor, and another donwn the street. On the way to the beach. The beach was about at 10-15 minute walk. Really cool little getaway.
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Robert (8/5): ? - Other than the train proximity and the terrible bed, your room was excellent. Shower was excellent. Room was extremely clean.
- Lenko (1/5): -
- barbaraorms (7/5): -
- Kyle (10/5): Great place to stay in Michigan City - Great little hotel in an awesome low-key location on the river with a restaurant on site.
- Jarod (10/5): Quick Day Trip - Could not ask for more. For the price, the rooms were spacious. Hotel is located near shopping, restaurants, and of course the beach!
Wont be disappointed!
- Pete (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mossman (5/5): Mediocre due to lack of clarity - Good location. Very clean room. Quiet. Good places to eat. Restaurant/bar on property. The description on booking.com made it seem like the Yellow building was the only building on the property and that's where the room was, not the case rooms 1-8 are in the yellow house next to the river, the higher numbers are in a separate blue building on the property without a river view. Room also stated queen it was a full.
3.5 overall
- zach (10/5): - Fantastic!
- Joon (8/5): Very good -
- Kimberly (10/5): Great relaxing get away to reset life, close to Washington Beach & Zoo. - Close to everything we needed, easy access to highways. Exceptionally clean just as other reviewers had stated. They provide earplugs for trains & bridge. We stayed in #23 (upstairs far right in blue building) with small stocked kitchen, table, hide-a-bed, queen bedroom, jet tub. Recycling cans on property to encourage recycling. Perfect place to stay for weekend or extended visit. We really didn’t have any dislikes!
- Jose (10/5): - Excellent stay, great room! Very clean, roomy, awesome shower/jacuzzi and well equipped!
- Conner (9/5): Superb -
- Katelyn (10/5): - We were here off season so pretty quiet but perfect for what we needed. Able to walk downtown to restaurants. Visited near by Indiana Dunes National and State Park.
- Alexandria (10/5): I will definitely be returning! - The room was super cute and had everything you might need. The cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in. Bath was excellent. Tv is small but it worked great with convenient Roku stick. Bed wasn’t too uncomfortable.. pillows were good. Lots of natural light and has good views of the bridge and channel. Private porch. It was most definitely the best room I’ve stayed in for the value.
- Henny (6/5): Pleasant -
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptionally clean!!! The view was exaggerated.
Really no view, from any suite.
You can NOT see Lake Michigan.
- Eileen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (7/5): Lovely staff, but the room was disappointing - The inn had a unique architectural design and the environment, aside from the passing trains, was tranquil and peaceful. I could hear everything in the next room and I'm sure they heard me. Also, the creamer and the coffee grinds were both stale and inedible.
- Arlene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful location. The room we clean and equipped with everything needed for our stay. We were very pleased. We will defiantly being staying here again in the future.
- Luvianos (9/5): Superb -
- Ricardo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ericksen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lopez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Draper (10/5): Exceptional - I loved it and will be returning
- Kaitlyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tanya (8/5): Very good -
- Misty (10/5): - Really cute, clean and quaint experience. They offered ear plugs for the near by train but they were not needed. Has everything you need for a pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Home style hotel - I would say this Bridge Inn is more like B&B style or maybe we stayed there off-season. The restaurant on site was closed and looked nobody there. The staff sent us a room code for entering our room. After we settled down in the room, everything felt like a home. Even in the very cold day, the room temperature was cover every corner. The owner of this property was thoughtful even providing 3M earbuds for us because the train were passing. Overall it's a nice stay.
- Anthony (4/5): Wouldn't go to Michigan City again - The property was clean They should mention that the entire town is in an off-season and rates should reflect that and that you're next to a railroad track
- Thierry (10/5): - Large and clean room.
Nice quiet town. Walkable distance to the beach.
Bridge is for trains (in operation)
- Jeff (8/5): - The tv experience was horible
- Douglas (10/5): - Great stay will be back for sure
- salvatore (10/5): - First time staying at Bridge Inn. Room was very clean
- Peter (10/5): - Check in process was simple - everything prearranged with personal numeric code for access to the room. The suite was clean, well appointed, and beds were comfortable. Two single beds in our room - don’t know if all the suites are like that. The hotel is in two buildings, obviously converted - sit near an old bridge near the shore (hence the name). The windows were OK but not much of a view (but not a deal breaker). New Buffalo is a short 10 min drive away (we were visiting family there and that’s why we stayed). I would definitely stay here again.
- Adam (10/5): - I did not actually stay here, but my customer service experience with them is my reason for this review. I had booked a stay for one night in this charming looking tiny inn, and was contacted a few days prior to our planned stay by the manager or owner, Anna, who informed us that unfortunately due to HVAC issues she would have to cancel our stay.
She offered us either a discount off of a future stay, or a 50 dollar credit to the Bridge restaurant next door, and we took her up on the latter. She recommended a number of nearby places to stay instead, and we wound up getting a cheaper room at the Blue Chip casino nearby, and used our fifty dollar credit on some good drinks and typical Americana appetizers. Will definitely stay here if in the area again.
- Bruce (10/5): Wonderful accommodations - Very clean and comfortable suite. The mini kitchen was helpful for a quick breakfast and lunch. Close to the beach. Would definitely stay again.
- Cathy (10/5): Great view - Very clean and comfortable room. Location is close to everything. Also we enjoyed the awesome free boat ride provided to Bridge Inn guests.
- Martin (10/5): Nice place - Clean and comfortable. Suite had a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Coffee packs provided but you might want to bring better coffee and filters. Nice have coffee on the balcony in the morning, or a drink in the evening. We'd stay again if visiting the area.
- Dolores (10/5): Always a great place! - Wonderful place to stay! Love the bridge, the restaurant, the staff!!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Absolutely Horrible place - First trip to Michigan City and will be the last because of the stay here. Had to take our 6 week old puppy, unknowing that they are not pet friendly because they own the restaurant next door that boasts about being pet friendly. There are a lot of people with dogs on the property. Angie saw us with our puppy as we were leaving and told us it wasn’t pet friendly but it was fine because she was a puppy and didn’t do damage. When we got back home she texted me and charged me extra because of feces not cleaned up she said. The puppy never had an accident in the inn. So she is charging me for feces outside, where there is duck, and goose poop everywhere, along with the dogs from the restaurant. This place made our Michigan City experience horrible and it really makes me upset that the only money we spent in the city was at their hotel and restaurant. We will never be back. Absolutely horrible.
- Kyle (10/5): - The room was clean. Staff was helpful and communicative.
Quiet area, at least during off season. The deck area was nice. Short walk to the lake front, about 15 minutes. Lots of dining options within walking distance.
Could use a bigger tv for night time relaxation.
- Rebecca (10/5): - It was awesome! The room was spotless! I don't normally take baths at hotels but the huge tub was spic and span so I got to soak my tiredness away that night. Since a bigger room with a balcony was available they upgraded us to it, complimentary, and checked us in early! We were worried about the train and big but it was fascinating to watch and the noise didn't bother us at all ! Wonderful place to stay.
- Mary (8/5): "All Aboard!" - The accommodations were fantastic and the suite was quite clean. Beds were very comfortable and the kitchenette and bathroom were nicely stocked with necessary items.
The only negative comment has to do with the trains that run directly behind the building. The sound of the running
train, the whistle and the alarm happened several times in the evening and once in the morning. Thank goodness they don't run through the night.
Overall, a cozy stay.
- Russell (10/5): - Very quaint and comfortable room. The staff was amazing. Our family had a great experience. We cannot recommend this place enough.
- Holly M (10/5): Honey hideaway - Perfect little place. Right on the water. Close to a great steakhouse. Comfy bed. Large jetted soaker.
- Tim (10/5): - The property is within an easy walk of the gorgeous beach. An interesting historical area and a history museum are near. A fine brewpub is within an easy walk.
- Jeffery (10/5): - Owners were extremely helpful. Loved the location. Would love to visit again.
- Ronald (10/5): - This property was clearly built for this purpose and not a retrofit. It was clean and well equipped. Not in the heart of things but very close (small town) and quiet. Will be back. Thanks
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good family option - Very pleasant inside. Kitchen worked well, but amenities very basic. Bathroom was great, lovely tub. Mattresses were saggy. (Look into Purple mattresses for a good replacement.)
- Richard (10/5): - Great spot. Pete was great.
- Wesley (10/5): - Very cool place, conveniently located close to the beach. The restraunt/bar on the property was nice too.
- Nichole (10/5): - Super cute place to stay. Service was great. It has a wonderful indoor-outdoor restaurant right there in the same parking area. Great food. Its less than a 5 min drive to the beach which was wonderful. Close to the casino if that's your thing. Outlet mall down the road. I would definitely come back!!
- Donald (10/5): Vacation 2023 - The room was great just wish the side next to the window had more room very tight squeeze
- Andrew (10/5): - Friendly staff. Great adjoining bar and grill. Convenient location.
- Ouneheuane (10/5): Birthday get-a-way - Our room at Bridge Inn was clean and the perfect size for couples. It had a small kitchen with a coffee machine, toaster, and utensils. The location was a 10-minute walk to the beach, restaurants, and outlet mall. The best part was there was a bar and restaurant located there as well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay
- DEBRA (10/5): - A nice quaint place. Comfortable bed. It’s nice to have a separate living room area. Coffee pot, coffee and kitchen utensils available along with small fridge.
- christine (10/5): - Clean
- Sonya (10/5): - Very enjoyable with friendly informative staff.
- Connie (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful. Near everything we wanted. Clean.
Was worried about the Industrial area. Not very pretty. But only a few blocks from the park. lake and arts district. We were there during the off season, so I'm sure it would be better in the summer. Would stay here again!
- Jeremiah (10/5): - It was a nice little place.
- Tom (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable rooms in a surprisingly quiet neighborhood.
- James (10/5): - We thought that the room we had was very cleanand cozy.
- Nancy (10/5): Nice place to stay - Rundown Lumber Yard area, that is being renovated to accommodations. Parking lot was a little ruff, outside didn’t look that impressive, but the accommodations inside were very nice.
- Joyce (10/5): - We stayed in suite 23. Its an upper level room but the stairs were quite manageable. We received a text when our room was ready which was before check in time. The room was very cozy and clean. This suite has a jetted tub 😀. The property manager Pete was very nice. We were only in the area 1 night but I waa amazed at all the things to do in the area. We definitely want to go back for a longer visit in the summer. They have a website that you can contact separately that will save you money on your stay.
- Dorothy (10/5): - Our unit was very comfortably set up and was ready for our stay. The kitchen facilities had everything we would need: microwave, coffee maker, cutting board, eating utencils. We brought our own plates and napkins, but they were probably included also, but I didn't look for them.
We would definitely stay there again.
- Joel (10/5): Great place - Beautiful room. Unique location. Pete was wonderful
- Cheryl (10/5): - Our stay was Very Nice! Decorated very nice, adequate space. Comfy and very warm housing.
Easy checking in is always greatly appreciated!
Bedding was clean, and beds were comfortable.
- Henry (8/5): - The Bridge Inn is charming and probably best suited for warmer weather visitors or weekends. (Our stay was mid-week in November.)
Its location, while convenient, is in an industrial area. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Self check-in was easy.
I would not hesitate to recommend it.
- Sukrudee (8/5): - This property is closed to many interesting places. House keeping was nice.
I have doubt with cleanliness because we found long hair (not our short hair)everywhere; bed sheet, towels, restroom.
- Samuel (10/5): - Great little spot. Visited in the offseason, so not sure how loud the nearby outdoor bar gets, but in the autumn it was quiet (save for the periodic train, but I knew it going in and it didn't bother us). Perfect for a quick getaway and it would be great for kids who like trains and/or boats. Close to everything in Michigan City.
- Jo (10/5): - Really a great view a really cool drawbridge is amazing to watch.. Close to everything. Mangement was very helpful on things to do places to eat.
- Rojeanne M. (10/5): - Our stay at Bridge Inn was Very Nice. We were greeted at the door of our room and the gentleman explained everything about the hotel, the Amtrack Train, cleaning, the wonderful restaurant and bar. It was a very nice, quiet, and clean. If we had any questions or problems all we had to do was call. My daughter and I had a restful time and loved to sit on the deck. Would go again.
- James (10/5): - Was wonderful place very clean, very nice will visit again really enjoyed.
- Jennifer (10/5): The best place to stay in Michigan City! - I LOVE this place. So do all my family, friends, and work associates. Pete, the owner makes everything about the stay just perfect. He makes a personal call when you book to make sure you have everything you need, depending on the type of trip you are taking. He sends emails with great info for fun things to do in the area. The place itself is adorable!!! The view of the bridge, boats, train, birds, and restaurant is great! Having a cute restaurant on site is perfect. It’s a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the outlet mall. With great outdoor seating, cozy beds, and all you need in the kitchenette, it’s the perfect place to stay. I visit the area a few times each year. Once I stayed somewhere different and I will never do that again! I will ALWAYS stay at Bridge Inn, no matter what the reason for my trip!!
- Mike (4/5): Are you kidding me?? - 60’s era motel at $230 a night. So disappointed we left without staying even though we had paid for it in advance. Water view was non existent. Three small windows looked into garbage collection area.
- Robert (10/5): - The owner was so helpful with information on how to spend our time in the area. The property was well maintained. The floating bridge was cool to watch. Can't say enough good things about this place. Looking forward to staying again next year.
