Guest Reviews
- Wendy (10/5): We loved it so much that we will come again next year! - Spotlessly clean. Hot shower. Cosy, comfortable beds. Beautiful view. Fully equipped kitchen. Easy to find and close to many interesting places to visit inc beautiful NT properties. Friendly, unobtrusive hosts. Nothing
- Susan (10/5): Fabulous short break. - Very well and thoughtfully equipped, clean and comfortable cottage, which was in a great location for visiting the many National Trust places in the area. Lovely views from the property and a great choice of local pubs to dine at too.
- Sharon (10/5): Peaceful, beautiful property, loved it! - Perfect property for a 2 night break with daughter to visit nearby Hever Castle. Comfy beds, very clean, lovely furniture, modern well equipped kitchen & bathroom. Beautiful gardens that the terrace overlooked. Nice touch with fresh flowers inside the property. Owner provided lots of local info before our visit & available onsite if needed at their adjoining farmhouse. Fantastic and would definitely recommend, and would return again. Hever Castle, the Anne Boleyn Musical, Henry VIII pub and Chiddingstone village all highly recommended. Nothing
- Kate (10/5): A beautiful place to relax surrounded by lovely walks and plenty of places to explore - Lovely quiet location but ideal for visits to Chartwell and Hever castle . Accommodation and patio overlooked the owner’s beautiful garden and the fields beyond. Fresh flowers and quality finish to the whole place made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy. Nothing!
- Richard (10/5): Relaxing and uplifting - Beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable, nice local walks.
- Heather (10/5): Accessible apartment in an idyllic setting but still with all mod cons... - Delightful private terrace for the annexe with beautiful views over the owner's garden and the fields beyond. All the accommodation was accessible, being ground floor with a walk-in shower and no steps between rooms. We stayed during a very sunny period so could eat on the patio table outside but there was also a small lounge leading into a very modern kitchen with a breakfast bar. Rachel, the host, had added thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers from her garden which made the accommodation feel homely and welcoming- the warm colours chosen for furnishings and a few quirky touches complemented this. The addition of toiletries and kitchen essentials such as coffee (even ground coffee for the cafetière and decaff coffee), tea, condiments, oils, made our stay much easier. Thank you for such an enjoyable and relaxing stay! Scraping the bottom of the barrel but a grab rail would have given us more stability in the shower- that said we are getting on a bit and we realise it's not something that younger people would miss.
- Katharine (10/5): Peaceful and luxurious. - The property is a beautifully converted old farm building in a picturesque setting. It is adjoined to the host's property but has it's own drive way and feels totally private. I loved opening the windows and just hearing the peace of the countryside, or sitting on the patio looking at the lovely trained roses or sunset over the trees. I was surprised at the quality of everything in the property, really pretty vintage furniture, a Bose radio and a large bathroom with walk-in shower, not to mention fresh flowers in every room. Plenty of cooking equipment for those who might want to cook, but we enjoyed eating at a couple of local pubs - Pheasant Plucker and Henry the 8th. Thank you!! I actually can't think of anything.
- Marriner (10/5): Hope to come again - Everything
- Diana (8/5): Very comfortable accommodation in a great location for the historic places we had planned to visit - We liked the location and being in self catering accommodation No negative experiences
- Drnrmm (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, view, caring approach from the hosts, clean and well equipped home. We liked everything.
- Stephen (10/5): Fantastic Accomodation - Everything! Rachel and Paul were fantastic hosts, the house was gorgeous and the facilities made sure we had everything needed. The house has a great patio and garden area for the children to run around.
Nothing was a problem, they really made our trip that much easier, - above and beyond wouldn't cover it. Thank you to you both, we appreciated your hospitality.
We even got a few parenting hacks when we don't have a monitor with us!
- Diane (10/5): Lovely situation and comfortable for a short stay - Charming building well appointed Nothing
- Marilyn (8/5): Enjoyable, quiet location. - The property was self catering. Nice, quiet location. nothing to dislike
- Brian (10/5): Very enjoyable. Wish we could have spent more time in and around the property. - Charming character, attention to detail within the property and glorious country view from a delightful little terrace. Nothing.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): Lovely short stay - Idyllic setting, really homely
- Julia (9/5): Relaxing place with very high standard of kitchen and wet room - Location very good. Lovely countryside. Calm and peaceful.great for visiting the many sites in that part of Kent. Slightly further from any decent pub than I envisaged. Nearest one is a 7 minute drive
- Mary (10/5): Excellent in every way. - This is a little gem. A superb converted barn/outbuilding, among a complex of farm houses, set in a magnificent location, with views over a lovely garden and rural views beyond. The accommodation was very well appointed, right down to a converter plug for an electric toothbrush! The owners have put a lot of thought into providing a restful place to stay. We were lucky to have a perfect summer evening our second night, and sat outside on the terrace, with an ad hoc antipasti dinner - wonderful. The provision of a type 2 charge point (at a fairly high cost) was an extra bonus, as we could charge our car overnight, ready for the dash to the airport the next morning. As we entered the property, we were welcomed with a beautiful flower arrangement. We would love to return for a longer look at the area. Our hosts provided directions for walks, and we promptly got lost! However, it was another adventure!
- Sallie (10/5): Rachel was an excellent host, we loved our accommodation - it had everything we needed, we couldn’t have asked for more - Lovely accommodation in an idyllic setting Nothing!
- Nikki (10/5): Beautifully, peaceful location perfectly situated for exploring the countryside & attractions - Location & property was beautiful & everything was provided for.
- Paul (10/5): - A nice cosy appt with well equipped kitchen and nice views of garden.
- Douglas (9/5): A great place for a comfortable, quiet and relaxing few days. - The property was secluded, quiet, comfortable, close to attractions. The host Rachel was friendly and most helpful gave lots of useful information on restaurants, walks and places to visit Nothing
- Shane (8/5): Nice quiet - Very cosy and sites were amazing Located in the middle of no where
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation was in a lovely area of Kent with lots of walks nearby. The hosts Rachel and Paul were generous with their time and gave lots of helpful advice. The accommodation was very well appointed with quality furnishing and appliances and good taste. An excellent countryside experience not far from London all very positive. More practical if you have a car but good taxi service
- Arabella (8/5): Lovely property and location. - Beautiful location and a lovely property. The main bedroom had two single beds aswell as the single bedroom which you had to walk through. The shower made the bathroom very wet. No clothes horse to dry clothes on which we needed as there was no dryer.
- Susan (10/5): A gorgeous place to stay in the heart of the English countryside! - A lovely and really well equipped property in the heart of the English countryside. The twin bedroom was very large and the beds very comfortable. It could perhaps do with a blind on the window in the single bedroom in addition to curtains as the sun was bright very early in the morning. Such a small detail though that I think it still deserves 10/10
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect - highly recommend this beautiful little cottage. - The location is idyllic, property is spotless and everything has been carefully thought out for the comfort of the guests. I highly recommend Oak House Farm and wished we’d booked extra nights, we will certainly return. The view is phenomenal. There is nothing at all to dislike!
- Marie (9/5): Superb -
- Eleanor (10/5): A gorgeous, comfortable place to relax after a busy day - This house is gorgeous, very modern, clean and cosy. Gorgeous views of the field with alpacas and sheep, all modern conveniences. Plenty of space and parking and close to Chartwells and Hever Castle amongst other sites. The owners are on hand to assist with anything as required but leave you to your own devices too. Nothing. I would happily book this place again.
- Ian (10/5): A lovely, well-equipped cottage in a great location. Highly recommended! -
- Elyshia (10/5): Exceptional - The place was lovely with such nice views over garden and farmland. Ideally situated for Hever Castle, Emmett gardens and Knole, which we came especially to visit.
Fresh flowers in all the rooms a lovely touch. The exit onto the road was worrying as you couldn't see what was coming along the road. A mirror is definitely required, others along the road have them and I'd suggest this is required here too.
Although a breakfast bar and outside table to dine at I would have liked a small table inside as well. We are people who like to play board games and cards and leaning over coffee table wasn't comfortable.
- Francine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Peaceful, lacked for nothing.Attentive host and very comfortable accommodation.Fully stocked kitchen and breakfast is provided if needed.Superb en-suite bathroom towels and robes provided.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful attention to detail. Cosy cottage with beauty views.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is in an nice setting and the bedrooms are much larger than the norm and very comfortable.
- Lori (10/5): - Rural setting in a beautiful area minutes from Hever Castle and Chartwell. Two sleeping areas with kitchen and living area.... very clean and modernly updated. Self check in. Would certainly stay again!!
