Kettle and mugs with tea, coffee, sugar and milk in your room as well as water and glasses.
I absolutely loved the vanity mirror above the sink, it was extremely ideal and helpful when doing my hair and make up as it provided the lighting I needed. Especially in the evening.
Provided with breakfast in the morning at a reasonable cost with tea and orange juice and toast with jam or marmalade. The cooked breakfast was delicious!
The shower pressure was perfect, also provided with toiletries so if you forgot to bring your own you're sorted. The shower temperature was lovely.. and adjustable!
The room itself was well presented and very tidy, with the bed nicely made up. Going to bed was a treat as the mattress was an ideal firmness and the pillows were very comfy.

- chambre plutôt fraîche même en canicule + climatiseurs dans la chambre - 1 drap d'oreiller un peu abîmé mais pas gênant

- Justin (8/5): Prima vertoef - Astoria 1 rol wc papier + open douche
- Brian (9/5): Very enjoyable stay in a great location. - Stayed for 2 nights, very comfortable, perfect location for exploring Southsea, also a lovely breakfast!
- Victor (8/5): Pleasant enough family run B&B - The room was nice, the staff was great, the location was a short walk to historic areas, pubs and restaurants. It’s als near a park and the sea. They are almost directly at a bus stop on a good route if you want to go to other parts of the city. The breakfast was especially nice and particularly reasonable at 7.50 Pounds. The building is from the 1800’s with narrow, steep staircases which I found difficult to Carry my suitcase up or down. You need to hold the suitcase in front or back of you while navigating a steep climb or descent. There is also no air conditioning, but it was not hot in the evening.
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional - very polite and friendly
Good breakfast
- Yvette (10/5): We’d stay again. - Great location for our trip. Excellent breakfast and wonderful, friendly hosts. We had a room facing a busy street on a Saturday night. It quieted down late.

- Ian (10/5): A hidden gem in Portsmouth! - A hidden gem in Portsmouth! Perfect location if you don't have a car as bus passes by every 10-15 minutes. The Historic Dockyard and Gunwharf Quays are only a few minutes away. Ruhal and his Mum were so nice and Friendly and accommodating and fun to chat to. Her breakfast was great and very personalized service. King room was very nice, though the elevated bathroom and shower was a little awkward at first. The front room is beautiful and has lots of games and books on Portsmouth and the Royal Navy. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again when in Portsmouth. On 2 of the 3 nights, there was some loud traffic noise, but that could have been due to a large event while we were there.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent in every way! - We loved our two night stay at The Pier. It’s a first class place. Rahul was very welcoming. It was only a 15-20 minute walk to the Historic Dockyards and central to the city centre. Our fully cooked breakfasts were so good. We wished we could have stayed longer! Nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): We don’t like large anonymous hotels and to stay at The Pier was perfect. - We were delighted to have discovered The Pier. We were warmly welcomed by Rahul and his Mother and our room was very comfortable and clean. We were able to park immediately outside and given a parking permit for the duration of our stay. A 15 minute walk to The Spinnaker Tower. Breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced and there were restaurants nearby which was a bonus after having walked around Portsmouth all day visiting the many attractions. Good advice and friendly conversation with Rahul and his Mum made it a perfect stay. Thank you! We liked everything!

- Amudhan (8/5): Very good - Nearby to the beach and attractions. Lovely for short stay. Nearby parking was provided.
- Ed (8/5): Enjoyable 2 night stay in Southsea. - Ideally positioned for our trip, The Pier is close to Southsea Common, the sea, Marmion Road (for breakfast) and Old Portsmouth and Gunwarf Quays. Our Host, Rauhul, was really friendly and accommodating. Our twin room was compact with only just about enough space for the 2 single (firm but comfortable) beds. If you had large suitcases you would struggle to store them. But it worked well for our needs.
- Lesley (9/5): Welcoming hosts Great experience - Great location
Free parking
Good value breakfast
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): Good location 16mins walk to outlet, good breakfast, nice room & comfortable bed. - Breakfast was great. Rahul's mom made chapati for us the next morning on our request, super delicious. Bed comfortable & room well equipped. None

The room maintained a comfortable temperature throughout our stay. Overall, it was a fantastic place, and we would highly recommend it to anyone. N/A

It is very nicely and centrally located, the room was quite spacious and clean, and Rahul, the host, was very friendly and always at our disposal for suggestions or to help us. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anybody visiting Portsmouth. Perhaps the shower could be better divided from the WC in the bathroom, but this is anyway a minor detail that did not affect at all our very positive experience with this guest house.
- Jenna (10/5): Wonderful place to stay! - The property was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were let down by an alternative property in the area on the weekend of victorious festival. We arrived earlier than our check in time very stressed but were welcomed in, let into our room and provided a jug of cold water which was very welcomed. Lovely breakfast and chatty hosts.
