Guest Reviews
- Marc (10/5): - Incredible vibes and a lovely pub, too. A great place to stay, and so close to the ThamesLink.
- Simon (10/5): Lovely hotel in the south of London - The hotel is set above a beautiful bar. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the room was warm and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and I really enjoyed my morning shower
- Kimberley (10/5): - Parking behind the hotel made it super easy to get in and out when renting a car. Yummy food as well in the restaurant / bar. Staff was very helpful and accomodating.
- Rachel (2/5): Disappointing - We were told we had been upgraded on arrival and went to our room to find two bags of crisps and two cans of drink with the tea and coffee. There were no visible signs to indicate these came at an extra charge so assumed they were complementary with the upgrade. After checking out an extra charge was put on my card and I was told it was for these items. Really disappointed with this as it was very misleading. I was told a price list was included in the basket, there was none as we specifically checked just in case. After explaining the circumstances and requesting a refund I received a very brusque reply saying there would be none. A shame as we would have returned otherwise.
- Claire (6/5): It’s ok - It was ok, wasn’t bad, but wasn’t a place I would rave about. I chose it because it had parking (a rarity in London) and because of that it was easier to overlook the revamp that the hotel seriously needs. The staff were very friendly, but obviously overworked and understaffed so service was very slow. We were only there one night for a concert, so it wasn’t a big deal - however I would of been upset if I was there for longer.
- Anna (6/5): - The hotel is in need of refurbishment, choise of food for dinner was limited but food was satisfactory. It was a noisy situation with a lot of passing traffic.
- brian (4/5): Disappointed - Food - poor and expensive for what it was I.e 4 prawns, linguine and 1 sliced cherry tomato. Cheap to make. Also, 2 pint glasses of coke from the pump at plus £10 is extortionate.
Instructions in booklet left in room for WiFi and air Con did not concur with actual methods.
No cold water in sink tap (only warm). Windows unlockable. Staff need to smarten their dress.
Would not recommend as the hotel looks very tired.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - great overnight stay
- Nick (10/5): - Meeting in location and found this little gem. Very efficient and accomodating. The onsite parking is a clear winner with tasteful interiors and a great bar! What more do you need!
- Martyn (6/5): - Friendly staff, well located, free parking. Clean well equipped room.
Food let it down, poor evening meal. Poor (cold) cooked breakfast. No continental options
- Yvonne (4/5): - The photos of the property looks much better than the reality. We were not impressed with the demand for a £50 deposit for crisps and a small selection of snacks in the room. The room had an infestation of ants mainly in the bathroom. We were woken up by a fire alarm at 7.20am apparently caused by a hot shower - this was unforgivable. All that being said the staff were very friendly and polite and helpful as were the bar staff. We would love to leave a higher star score but unfortunately it was too much disruption all considered.
- Michael (6/5): - Convenient for rail and services and they also have a carpark. The pub downstairs has a great selection for beers and the food is good. The decor in my room was tired though and could do with upgrading. The mattress on my bed was very uncomfortable.
- Stephen (8/5): A South London trip. - A two night stay with family members. Traditional London pub which served very tasty food. Not all of the items on the menu or drinks in the bar were available. The rooms were clean but not spacious and situated on the side of the noisy south circular road. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
- Tony (10/5): Excellent - Staff were amazing, friendly and genuinely lovely!
From the minute we walked in we were very welcomed and felt like a home from home
- David (8/5): Decent Hotel For One Night - This hotel was absolutely decent for what me and my partner needed.
We were staying as we went to a music festival up the road in Brockwell Park. Location was perfect.
Plenty of spaces for a car to be parked which was brilliant.
Staff were polite.
The bed in the room was so comfy and large.
My partner had some issues sleeping with noise from the outside but we knew it wouldn't be quiet being in London.
The only issues we had was some problems with the TV not working properly for a bit and the taps in the bathroom were loose plus the cold tap had hot water coming out but apart from that, great place and would stay again.
- SIOBHAN (8/5): Good hotel with a lovely room - Very comfortable room and the bed in particular was fantastic. There was aircon on a warm evening but no window that ooened. I ate in the resand it was very good. The young staff were very friendly and helpful .
- Oleksandr (8/5): - Good place ,affordable price and free parking
- Timothy (6/5): - Super nice friendly staff but unfortunately the rooms are quite tired and dated. Mouldy bathroom tiles and quite a noisy location being next to the south circular. Breakfast was good quality but a shame that they ran out of avocado, pancakes and bacon while we were there. The manager was actually really nice but has been let down by head office I suspect
- COLM (8/5): - it was ideal for us to stay as our function was close by and very helpfull bar staff thx again colm from dublin
- Mr William R (8/5): - Nice room, only slight moan was the cold water tap took forever to run properly cool.
- Mary (10/5): Good place to stay while visiting. - Brilliant service from start to finish. Booked for my niece and her partner. The duty manager, Zain, was spot-on. Room was clean and had all the traditional room amenities included. Although the room faced a busy street, the double glazing worked to reduce the traffic noise. They informed me they would stay again. Public transport and taxis were readily available in the area.
- Chinedum (2/5): - 1. The shower was not draining and I had to shower in standing water.
2. The AC in my room was crackling and loud like there was a rodent inside it. This went on all night.
- Charlene (10/5): - Amazing friendly staff, room was very clean and a great bar.
- Karlansia (8/5): - Staff were very helpful. Room was ok. Convenient for the place I needed to visit.
- Agatha (8/5): - It is in a very convenient place and transport is in abundance and also there is a safe and secure parking. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. The meals are very nice and nice portions.
The rooms are very clean but the steps are too many and difficult to maneuver with luggage. On the whole it is a very nice hotel and I wish I had a long time to stay!
- Richard (8/5): Good value and well maintained - Really friendly reception when we arrived. Room was well maintained very clean. No noise from the pub which was great but the hotel is on a main junction and could do with some extra sound proofing on the windows.
- Mark (10/5): - Clean, friendly, great value and location.
- Derek (8/5): - The bedroom radiator was off on arrival and we were handed a welcome piece of paper telling us to turn it on if we were cold. It was -5c outside, so I think this should have been done before arrival.
The toilet needed a good clean.
- Matthew (4/5): Avois - Not very clean, very dated, stains and paint peeling in room and bathroom
- Teresa (10/5): - Lively large room and bed.
- Aidan (10/5): - Cool little pub/hotel if you’re going to a gig nearby. Staff were really nice and helpful.
- Natascha (10/5): - Old traditional property with some features
- Ella (10/5): - I booked this for my parents to stay at whilst visiting. Not only great parking, the room was spacious with AC, Nespresso machine, large bed and the breakfast was amazing.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
This hotel also hosts a fab adult Easter egg hunt.
Happily recommend this hotel and pub to anyone!!!
- Nadine (8/5): Great value, great times, great night - Bar staff in the evening, fantastic, particularly Will who made us some amazing on the spot cocktails! There were games and puzzles available to play as well which made our night even better and we had a laugh with the staff too. Bed super comfortable and huge! The shower was good with good water pressure, an all around lovely stay experience. Staff in the restaurant the next day lacked a little customer service skill but the food was incredible so made up for this. There are a lot of stairs up to the rooms so maybe not ideal for those with mobility problems
- Shev (10/5): Fab stay!! - Beautiful historical pub, fantastic location. Hotel stunning and beds super comfy…. An actual king size bed!!! Breakfast yummy, staff awesome!
- John (8/5): - Great central location. Handy for City Centre with good bus and train links.
Breakfast great, and hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We'll be returning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice size room recently renovated. Great shower. Traffic noise was fairly loud, windows didn't block enoigh even though I was on the top floor.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, food ok
Check in could have been more informative
Bathrooms good, furniture probably needs updating
- SueBonner (8/5): - Very friendly staff .....nice location....secure parinking, generous portions of excellent quality food.....very good covid 19 measures employed. Will def. Stay again
- Paul (8/5): - Good value and excellent breakfast.
Room comfortable but furniture a bit tatty.
- Jason (10/5): Happy with stay - Clean room and convenient location close to Tulse hill station. A bit noisy from the pub but nothing too disruptive. Easy check in and good amenities Including car park . A comfortable nights stay.
- Janine (10/5): - Really friendly check in. The pub and restaurant have a lovely warm and cosy feel to it. Bedroom was really cute. Shabby chic decor which I love. Bed super comfortable. Only negative for some guests is that it was up 2 flights of fairly steep stairs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and lovely room, very comfy bed. . A little noisy from traffic could do with better secondary glazing
Only downside to room was the lighting, which is lovely and ambient but awful for using the mirrors, bad bathroom light above mirror and too dim for mirror in bedroom so v difficult to put on makeup or shave
- Neil (10/5): - The hotel staff are fantastic. So welxoming and friendly
- Sophia (10/5): Come for the charm stay for the food! - What a charming place! We loved our stay! The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The best part was the cozy pub and restaurant downstairs serve the most delicious food! What a great! Five stars all around!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cute hotel above a pub. The hotel has wifi, updated rooms, parking and super friendly staff. Would definitely reccomend and would stay here again. Eat and the pub - delicious!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely pub, great food, staff friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location with easy access to london centre. Great food, great bar and atmosphere.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel looks great and the food is excellent. The rooms are clean and tidy, with good water pressure in the shower. The staff were absolutely fantastic in letting us check in early and order late breakfast around the time the food was about to stop for the morning. Would recommend definitely with only down side being the traffic noise is quite loud in the room we stayed. Aircon in rooms was a god send in the summer heat! Thanks!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolute oasis in the middle of South London. Staff were fantastic, welcoming and friendly. Facilities and general vibe of the hotel and restaurant are what makes London great. Food was awesome. Definitely coming back!
- William (10/5): You should stay here if you're not pretentious - Warm pub atmosphere. Clean comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.
- arnold (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay at Tulse Hill. The breakfasts were great, as well as the location. I am receiving immunotherapy at the Guthrie Clinic at Kings College Hospital.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Old coaching house with comfortable, modern accommodation.
Good restaurant & bar with patio and rear garden. Very near to railway station.
- Kelly (6/5): Okay - Lively hotel, some of the staff friendly but service was slow
Very expensive for what it was. Bed was comfortable though
- rae (10/5): Europe Vacation - Our stay at Tulse Hill was OUTSTANDING! It started with LOVELY greetings from Keelan and Ranatta, both so ABOVE and BEYOND! All the staff was SPECIAL and GREAT! Ranatta and Keelan were EXTRA EXTRA SPECIAL! I so would recommend Tulse Hill to anyone, just save us a room too! Convient to the train, restaurant and bar on site, wonderful rooms and Service BEYOND!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great bed and lovely breakfast very enjoyable stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Simple but well presented room, decent sized bathroom and shower. Great breakfast!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very friendly and welcoming
Very good service and lovely breakfast
Traffic noise throughout the night may be a problem for light sleepers
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great place to stay and the food was excellent, staff were all excellent too. road noise was a small issue outweighed by all of the positives to be honest.
- Marc (8/5): Tulse hill - Nice comfortable room and bed.
