Guest Reviews
- Anthony (10/5): - Property was spotlessly clean and was unique because of its ghirka authenticity. Staff were friendly, polite and efficient in all aspects of their work.I would recommend this establishment to anyone wishing to stay or just requiring something different in the way of Asian cuisine
- Darren (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Jill (10/5): - Great value for money. Dinner was lovely
- EMMA (6/5): - Staff were very lovely and their food was nice too. The grounds are pretty and the restaurant is decorated with traditional items which is a nice touch. However the sleeping accommodation areas are very tierd and in desperate need of updating replainting and in some areas re-tileing.
- Eddie (10/5): Motorcycle tour - Great staff made me feel welcome and the best Gurkha restaurant I've been in over all a great experience thanks to the hard working team
- bob (8/5): Fantastic - Fantastic stay. Friendly service great food. Easy to check in and out.

- ann (4/5): Cheap clean but worn out - Rude person at check inn - would not allow me to eat in room
Breakfast cooked by well meaning man but a bit surreal. Couldn’t use bathroom without navigating round door- not big!
Very proud of Nepal hertiage - no issues w that
- Paul (6/5): - Place needed a good clean. Gardens at rear were pleasant Friendly staff and good meal in Gurka Restaurant.

- Sean (10/5): Great staff - Great staff clean tidy quiet location easy access
- Terry (8/5): - Great value, friendly staff, loads of parking and the best curry ever..!!!!! Food and drink prices don’t break the bank either. Only minus with this gaff is nothing else in walking distance, ie. Shops, etc.
- Angela (6/5): - Didn’t meet expectations and one of the rooms booked had a leak in the bathroom
- john (6/5): - Mony wise brill
- Garry (4/5): Needs major upgrade - No reception staff when i arrived 4pm.A key code on the door to enter the bedrooms which would look better on a shed door. Room needs upgrading & stains on bed sheet.
- Chris (10/5): - A great stay with great staff and a lovely room, the room was a bit dated and well presented a little dirt on the walls and light shade but that was not a problem unless your very picky.all in all a lovely stay and will definitely use again when in the area.
- Steven (4/5): - Just poor, old, dated, uncomfortable. Felt like I was renting a room in someone's home. Not really a professional hotel. Personal effects lying around/visable in stair well, behind reception desk, breakfast totally deep fried. Room was ok but needs money spent on it. Definitely wont be back. Saying that @ £65 inc the breakfast it was reasonable value. They also have a free carpark with plenty of spaces. For me investment is needed!
- Andrew (8/5): - Could not do breakfast early .They did offer sandwiches but could not do a gluten free alternative.
- Julie (8/5): Welcome - The staff were very welcoming and l had an amazing meal as it is also a Gurkha restaurant. Room was functional and clean.
- samantha (10/5): - We have stayed at this hotel for many years with the previous owners. The new owners are lovely. all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable room. Food was absolutely delicious. Will be back for another stay soon.
- Felicity (10/5): - The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean and welcoming. The breakfast we had was also delicious! Thank you, Woolaston Inn.
- robert (8/5): - Food excellent, car park large enough, book evening meal. room a little cool upon arrival
- MS H J (10/5): Super place to stay - Excellent place to stay. Quiet, comfortable room. Wonderful Gurkha restaurant with fabulous Nepalese & Indian food. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Already planning to come back next year.
- Stephen (10/5): - Booked two rooms at quite short notice Rooms adequate friendly staff and the food and service was excellent would recommend even if not staying we will be using this hotel again if working in the area
- John (10/5): - Value for money and excellent cuisine
- Glyn (8/5): A day at chepstow - Very clean friendly people just a little dated . But would definitely stay again.
Forgot to say lovely food
- Olayinka (8/5): - Nice staff, most especially the chef that tried all efforts to make my stay great
- david (6/5): Midweek Stay near Chepstow - Needs updating - original room tiny - changed to a slightly better one but still limited space for baggage - only one bedside table and lamp. Everything clean and service in restaurant for dinner and breakfast attentive. Food in restaurant excellent and is recommended. Overall acceptable -would eat there again but unlikely to stay in the rooms unless improvements had taken place
- malcolm (6/5): Value for you £. But thats as good as it gets. - Staff were polite. This is also a Gurka Restaurant. Not an issue for me. Food was ok. Rooms & Hotel overall really needs some serious money spent on it as its very tired ( its clean ). Needs a big overhaul as years of neglect with updates is really showing. Im a sales rep so i hope i can give an honest opinion as i stay away a lot. Value for £ yes. But i wont stay here again until money was invested in the Hotel decor etc.
- robert (8/5): - Regular failure of beer cooling system in warm / hot weather.
room needs some TLC as does the hallway but basically OK
Car park adequate
Food of a high standard. Staff very friendly and helpful
I will return!
- Sandra (8/5): - Great.
- Celeste (8/5): - Good value for money. Lovely clean room and facilities. The owners are very lovely and if you like indian/asian food then you will be pleased by the quality. Rooms at front a little noisy from the road, but for the money you can't quibble and did not affect my stay.
- Lydia (6/5): - Helpful staff, comfortable bed and good breakfast. Very easy to find and parking is ample. The decor made me feel like i had stepped into another decade of another country. I admire people and places that dont try to be modern just for the sake of it when everything they already have works fine, so i quite enjoyed looking at the pictures, baskets and other items on display.
- Angela (8/5): - Meet expectations
- Andrew (6/5): Comfortable but tired - The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but very tired and in real need of refubishing.
- Steven (10/5): - Excellent
- Karen (10/5): - Lovely room with tea making facilities, perfect for my stay. Thank you
- paul (8/5): Good value. - Basic accommodation.Good restaurant.Recommend for a short stay.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Great place! Immaculately clean rooms. Nice bedding too. Very friendly staff & superb Nepalese restaurant with a cosy log burner, as well as a cosy bar. Great breakfast too. Lots of free parking. Great value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean in all areas. Excellent value for money. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the opportunity to have food, which was very good, from a different culture.
Would definitely recommend it.
- Jacqueline (8/5): One night stay - My second stay here in the same room. Staff were very polite & helpful. The room although a bit dated was clean & comfortable. Bed very fresh , clean & comfortable. On this occasion I did not have breakfast. I would definitely stay again
- Rory (8/5): - Absolutely lovely area great staff and great amenities with a lot of choice
- Samantha (4/5): Disappointing birthday! - Sadly this was not a pleasure to stay in. On check in I had requested rooms away from the road but was told that these are not available. My room had the toilet seat hanging off, mould around the bath and the double glazing was so bad that you could fit a finger in the gap. I spent a long time on the phone with Hotels.com and they said that they had spoken with the owner and a free meal was offered. This then didn’t happen as they accused me and Hotels.com as lying about this. Rooms were not serviced on the second day of the stay so we had to request clean cups etc. My parents room was no better, mouldy all around the shower tray, old towels from the previous occupants were left hanging on the door, again double glazing so bad as my room. This spoilt what was our first trip in a long while and my birthday was not as it should have been.
The only positive I can say that the food is very good.
Would not stay again.
