Guest Reviews
- Jan Erik (10/5): Lovely Place - Very quiet and peaceful place set around a little lake. There's small cups of fish-food on the balcony to feed the fish in the lake.
It's away from the major tourist areas, all you hear are birds and the sound of the rain.
Breakfast gets delivered to the room. Also a very good little local restaurant in walking distance. Nothing to say here, it was all great.

- Nadir (9/5): Great little find with polite staff and free bicycle rental for getting around - Helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, the free bicycle Location is a bit remote from most amenities if you don’t cycle or drive
Danke.
- Penny (10/5): Slice of paradise - It was quite, serene and beautiful . Everything was classy from the decor to the hostess. We enjoyed our stay there very much Nothing
- Emil (9/5): Great stay if you’re looking for a peaful stay! - Amazing place! Very peaceful and calm, and lovely surrounding! Great rooms with great atmosphere!
- Damian (10/5): Nice, quite place to stay -

- Jennifer (10/5): - Wonderful, helpful host. Great breakfast. Just lovely 😍 Thankyou x
- Peter (8/5): - This really nice accommodation at a pretty good price.
Maggie went to every extent to make my stay special, even getting her mum to give me a lift to a nearby cafe.
- Andy (8/5): Good for birdwatching, cycling and reading books. - It is fairly quiet, but there is a mosque very close by. There are nice streams around to explore and quiet lanes to cycle around. The beach is not far. I liked the way they bring breakfast to.the room. Lots of birds about. I like birds. Few pillows, no pictures on the wall. Bikes not well maintained.
- Yasmine (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful. Thank you!
- Pruk (10/5): Good value comfortable room with very nice host - Simple house at very reasonable price
Big fish pond with lots of being koi fish For those who don’t like living near a garden it’s possible to feel bugs annoyance.
- Irina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great, thanks to the owners
- Natalia (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Amazing natural experience on a river ,definitely going back. - The room was big ,very secure and everything worked .
The big balcony was amazing because it was above the river and you could feed the fishes and watch various wildlife , even saw a Monitor lizard . All good .
- Julien (10/5): Wouldn't change a thing! - We were able to take some bikes to the nearby beach and that was awesome! The staff were all lovely and the breakfast was copious and great. We had lots of fun feeding the fish and the bed was soooo comfortable. Loved it all!
- Paul (10/5): Great place to stay. - Friendly staff. Good size room. Nice big balcony. Range of fish and they leave a big pot of fish food. Saw a monitor lizard in the morning. Good restaurant close by. 500 metres to the beach.
- Jozef.s (10/5): Excellent! - Fantastic location, excellent owner approach, amazing breakfast, and feeding the fish as a bonus. Peace, quiet, and relaxation -
(10/5): Exceptional -
- Callum (8/5): Perfect quiet getaway if you want to chill out amongst nature. The host helped us hire scooters too -
- Andrew (9/5): Peaceful relaxing place near a beautiful beach - Quiet chilled atmosphere and breakfast as an extra was very good Just a lamp in the room - a very minor issue
- David (10/5): Extremely nice and fantastic value - A little apprehensive when we first approached and checked in. But that soon went away when we went into our mini apartment. It was great and in fantastic condition. We stayed in the Viva property which im guessing was quite new.
Staff were super friendly.
Value for momey was extremely good.
- Lina (10/5): I loved it. - I had the loveliest experience! The residence was beautiful, clean and quiet. Natai beach is amazing, spacious with very clean waters, almost empty. A few good places to eat nearby on the beach and the hot spring can be reached by bicycle (which is provided). The breakfasts at the hotel are also very good. It is the best place if you want to relax in a quiet area before going to explore the rest of Thailand.
- Steve (10/5): If you’re looking for some peace and quiet this is it - The room was really nice. Lots of light and very clean. We were looking for a quiet place to avoid the crowds and this was just it. You can use the bikes from the hotel and go to the beach (just 5 min away). The beach is amazing and the water crystal clear. Nothing
- Gladwin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maksims (9/5): Excellent place—quiet and peaceful - The area is beautiful and well-maintained. The staff and the owner are very kind and helpful. Breakfast is delivered straight to the room. Two bottles of water are provided daily. Free bicycles are available for trips to the beach or the store. Towels and bed linen are not changed, but we didn’t ask for it either.
- Cara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carole (10/5): Perfect relaxing few days. - Staff very friendly, lots of breakfast choice and delivered to your room.
Free water daily. Short walk to the beach, mini market and a couple of local restaurants.
Very traditional Thai village, perfect if you want a tranquil few days on a lake. Bikes available.
Fish food also provided! Nothing, exactly as described.
(Some people could maybe find it too remote and quiet)
- Turkon (10/5): Would stay again in a heartbeat! - I had the most serene, wonderful stay here. I needed a bit of a reset and this was just the thing. The rooms are clean, updated, and gorgeous, with beautiful porches to sit and eat the breakfast you can order to your room and feed the fish! I feel so refreshed and rested. It’s a bit in the middle of nowhere, but the nowhere is gorgeous, and they provide bikes so you can go explore the lush, beautiful back roads, bike to the beach (not far), or into town for a bite/7/11 run. Hand soap in the bathroom would be nice, but there was shower gel close by so it wasn’t an issue. Other than that everything was perfect!!
- Barnaby (10/5): Peaceful waterfront idyll - Idyllic and peaceful! Beautiful waterfront rooms, lovely staff, great location. Stunning secluded beach a 10 minute cycle ride away (using the hotel’s free bicycles). It’s the perfect spot to slow down and relax. Nothing not to like!
- Pavel (10/5): Recommended! - Very quiet and peaceful place, good breakfast served in the room, big fishes in the river and you can feed them.
Clean rooms! Very nice stuff! Recommended!
- David (6/5): Fish feeding on a pond in the middle of nowhere - Large, spacious room with a comfortable bed. Plenty of parking close to the room. WiFi worked okay, dropped out a few times. The beach is about a 15 minute walk but it is covered in rubbish. A few restaurants around but not really in walking distance. Feeding the fish was a nice novelty but living on the water means mucho mosquitos There is a mosque next door & they start chanting at 5am. The walls are very thin so you can clearly hear your neighbours. I booked partly because it had a kitchen but actually it only had a kettle & a fridge so I couldn't cook my own food.
- Petra (10/5): Fabulous 😍 - This hotel is phenomenal and I can't wait to go back. I enjoyed my stay here so much. Beautiful, immaculate rooms in a tropical, quiet and peaceful setting. Service could not have been better. Breakfast was always delicious and impressive and delivered right to your room. If you are looking for nightlife or action this is not the place but if you are looking to relax and unwind you will love it here. Highly recommended for the start or end of your trip. Beach is a 15 minute walk away - clean and empty. A few excellent restaurants in walking distance. Thank you Lantala for such a wonderful experience.
- Rene (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place to relax. Mackie is really great and her mum cooks unbelievably great breakfast. You have to try massaman vegetable, set 16. I am travelling really a lot and I will definitely come back. The only thing that I didnt like was that theres a mosque like a neighbor, which results in hearing prayer around 5am. Good thing is, its really a short one and if you know about it, you can prepare. Most of people even cant notice it, but my sleep during morning is not really a deep one.
- Sven (9/5): Superb -
- Ingrid (10/5): Relaxing, friendly, tranquil, peaceful - great location for exploring the region. - Very relaxed and friendly - a really great place to unwind and use as a base for exploring this super beautiful semi-rural part of Thailand. Very helpful staff/management ... easy communication in english at reception or via text/WhatApp . We left our car headlights on at a nearby restaurant and flattened the battery and Maggie (boss) was straight on helping us out, proactive, even offering to come out and get us. The rooms were clean, modern, comfortable and everything was newer and better quality than in other similarly priced places we stayed. The grounds are lush and beautiful. Watching and feeding the fish in the lake/pond is super relaxing and fun. Delicious breakfasts! There was nothing I didn't like. Lantala Residence is about 1km from the public access swimming spots on Natai beach. You can borrow push bikes and ride there, which feels safe, as there isn't much traffic on the local lanes, there are a few nearby restaurants too, but the area is quite rural and everything is spread out so having a car felt essential. It is really well located for day trips by car to Khao Lak, Phuket and there's no shortage of national parks and attractions to visit within 45 mins drive to the north, east or south. Great spot.
- Andi (10/5): Best vacation - Extremly friendly family business. The owner speaks very good English. Lanta and his team are the best! The houses located on the shore of an artificial lake. You can also feed the fish yourself. Breakfast is served personally to your room and you can tell yourself the time of breakfast. You order breakfast from the menu, very large selection of. You get 2 bottles of water every day. Very clean. Silky bed linen and comfortable bed. I was able to leave my fishing equipment at Lanta so now I can go fishing next time. I went fishing 5 minutes away on the pier. The restaurants are a bit far and you have drive there. There is no safe in the room. The beaches Is 5 minutes by scooter, the beaches are beautiful but there are no beach chairs. I definitely go back. Thank you, Lanta!
- Borra.matteo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hellon (10/5): Exceptional - Close to beach and restaurants. Excellent breakfast served on your balcony
- Kerry (9/5): Superb - Gorgeous quiet, family run bungalows. The fish feeding was an absolute highlight as other guests have said. An easy flat cycle to the beach where we had a lovely swim.(Free borrow bikes were available) A short walk up the well-lit street to a very pleasant meal at local halal restaurant in the village.
And next morning, a delicious breakfast on our balcony. Great restful place. We even saw two squirrels playing in the front garden. It was all wonderful.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Expectional hosts couldn't do enough to accommodate us. The location and stay was amazing, the family loved sitting out watching the fish.
- Gabrielle (9/5): Private retreat - Delicious breakfast. Cosy and private. AC worked well Location was a bit difficult without your own transport. Free bicycle hire and a fairly easy ride up the road to food, massages etc (felt less safe at night riding)
Right next door to a mosque so that was noisy at times
- Alina (10/5): Exceptional - Lanta and her family were very nice and welcomed. A variety of breakfast options are served right into your room. You can use free bicycles to get to the beach or the main food/shopping street. The place is located far away from the hassle—the perfect place to enjoy calm and serenity.
- Egor (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast, hotel territory, room and clearness in general -
- Milana (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely amazing place! The host is the best!!
- Glenn (10/5): Excellent location fantastic star great place to stay - Staff fantastic, it was spotless throughout the whole building.
And the breakfast was fantastic Nill
- Dylan (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful place in a quiet spot.
Good to relax, nice staff.
Would definitely stay again!
Fish all around outside the room 👌🏼
- Yuwadee (8/5): Good choice for stay - Staff helpful Aircon quite old not cool enough
- Murat (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent service and very nice owner
- Chaldaios (10/5): Unique stay! - No words can describe the uniqueness of this stay. The location is absolutely magic, the host Lanta is incredibly polite and helpful and always present for any guests' requests, SO tasty breakfast that we already miss, free parking, really clean property and amazing views. The outdoor shower was the cherry on the cake! We cannot wait to be back!!!
- Antonello (10/5): Exceptional - All perfect about the accommodation and the premises, beautiful clean rooms on the lake but no mosquitoes.
Wonderful long wild beach at 5 minutes by bicycle (provided by the residence) with no people at all.
No noisy boats or jet-ski!
Just nature. Less than one hour drive from overcrowded Phuket there's paradise! The residence provides (a very good) breakfast only.
There's just one real restaurant open for dinner in the area. Local options for lunch.
- Csilla (10/5): Exceptional, cozy place - It was an exceptional stay and ending of our 2 week long Thailand trip. We spent 4 nights here and felt amazing. The hosts were extra nice people, Magie speaks English very well. The accomodation is cozy, beds are comfy, bedclothes have very good smell, aircon works well etc. You can feed the fish from your balcony. The breakfasts are served in your apartment for the previously fixed time. They were sooooo delicious and we could chose from plenty of dishes. We had some extra wishes as well during our stay and they could help with everything (eg. best massage experience in whole Thailand in our own apartment).
The beach is huge, coast is beautiful, much less crowded as in Phuket. If we come back to Thailand we will definitely chose Lantala resort again! The bikes are free to use but they are not the newest ones. Even though they are fine, you can get the seacoast easily with them.
(8/5): Very good -
- Norbert (9/5): We highly recommend to our friends and family - Our room was equipped with a comfortable bed with a sufficiently large blanket and good pillows of two qualities. One softer and one firmer. Everything is very clean and fresh smelling. The kitchenette has a refrigerator and a minimum supply of crockery and cutlery. However, there are no knives when it comes to cutlery. But we had some ourselves. We got our special requests well fulfilled. There is beautiful solid wooden furniture on the balcony. A highlight is the fish food for the many interesting fish in the pond, on which the houses with two studios each are built. Another nice thing is the outdoor shower with two shower heads. The air conditioning worked great and created a pleasant room climate. We had fun staying in the house. The rental bikes made it very possible to get to the beach or into the city. Support could be obtained for other travel options.
There is a mosque on the directly adjacent property. This is important to remember because the calls are audible. At first we had to deal with the situation, but noticed it less and less as the days went on. In the adjacent small town there is a Moslem restaurant and a shop. In the store you can get the most necessary drinks and packaged food. The people in town are open, friendly and helpful.
The hospitality of Khun Maggie and her parents and staff is outstanding. It's fun to use the little Thai we've already learned with the employees. Khun Maggie is an impressive person. She speaks good English and always finds solutions. We felt like we were in the care of a sister. We are already really looking forward to our next stay there.
The breakfast, which you can order daily, is unique, freshly prepared on site and plentiful.
We would like to thank you very much and look forward to your next visit! there were no real minus points at all
- Amy (10/5): - Tucked out of the way and serene. I biked to coffee, dinner, and the beach to see the sunset. Breakfast was delivered to my room, where I could eat overlooking the water with huge fish. It was so quiet and peaceful I would stay longer next time.
- Georgia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (10/5): Lovely place to relax. It was quiet and peaceful. - Very nice breakfast that came with the room rate. 8 menu choices of which if I recall 7 are delicious local fare, there's another 8 choices in vegetarian of the same type.
Room is comfy as with plenty of storage space.
Enjoyed watching the fishes cruising around and coming to feed on the pellets provided (Koi, tilapia, giant gouramy, pacu, snakehead, lampam).
Motorbike available for rent at 300 baht a day, free bicycles available to cycle to Natai Beach or the nearby restaurants or town.
We had dinner twice at a restaurant within 5 mins bike ride. Very good and reasonably priced -
Woke up each morning to the sounds of the birds.
When we left, Lanta went out of her way to drop us at the bus stop on the main road to catch a public bus up north, she waited with us an hour to see us safely off. The first bus was was full so we had to wait for a second bus. Her kind and generous gesture is really appreciated! Nothing really. Was aware that you do need a set of wheels to reach the places of interest.
- Robin (10/5): Beautiful getaway - If you're looking for peace and serenity, this is the place! The cute houses on the lake with many beautiful fish (which you can feed from your balcony) makes waking up here a dream.
A hearty breakfast is served to your balcony to enjoy the views. The family running the place is super welcome and helpful. Highly recommend staying here!
You can also easily rent a scooter to explore the surroundings.
- Kate (10/5): It was lovely thank you - Very peaceful, beds were super comfy and really helpful owners, could borrow bikes for free and amazing breakfast delivered to your room too. Nothing
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic, calm sanctuary away from the resort style tourists, yet close to airport and lovely beaches
- Alexander (10/5): Enjoyed - An excellent place for a vacation if you have a car. Nearby there is a good restaurant, shops, laundry. Close to deserted beaches. There are many interesting places to go and see. Cozy hotel in a garden with a pond, clean spacious rooms and daily cleaning. Showering under the open sky and feeding the fish is a special pleasure. Good breakfasts. Friendly and responsive hostess.
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (9/5): Seclusion and peace near both town and beach. - Lovely welcoming family owners who went out of their way to help us and point us in the right diection. The rooms were secluded and quiet and we were supplied with food to feed the beautiful carp that swam in the lake benearh us. I usually travel with softer pillows but forgot them this time !!
- Natasha (9/5): Unique quiet stay - They have a unique location out of the way. You could lie in the net over the water and in the morning feed the fish. They had an outdoor private shower too. The family run property was beautiful. Maggie was very nice. Hard bed.
- Serge (10/5): Highly recommended - We stayed in a number of villas and cottages in and around Phuket, and Lantala was the best one by far.
The cottage is very neat, the beds and pillows are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the terrace has a nice view on a pond.
The host speaks perfect language, all her recommendations were spot on. Her mom prepared a fantastic breakfast with massaman curry and salad made of home grown fruit and vegetables. The breakfast is served to your room / terrace.
Natai Beach to the south of the pier is clean, long and unspoilt with just a couple of high-end villas facing the beach. The beach is about 5 min to drive from Lantala. It’s safe to walk to the beach or ride a bicycle provided by Lantala free of charge.
Roads around the beach are excellent, it took us 30 min to get to the Phuket airport from Lantala.
- Lauri (9/5): Best accommodation ever that I have experienced so far - Very friendly staff, treating the guests almost as family members. Breakfast delivered every day personally and in addition the fresh cocoanuts from the garden. Really great stay, especially if you can appreciate the attitude and human relations.
- Eli (10/5): Lovely family & super comfortable rooms - An amazing experience. Surrounded by beautiful nature, spacious and super comfortable rooms, managed by a lovely family that cooked me one of the best breakfast I had in Thailand. I asked with no eggs, they immediately understood I'm vegan, and, even without me asking, added tofu that was well cooked. Highly recommend if you visit Phang-nga and want to relax with nature. Everything was great.
- Anonymous (10/5): Relaxing and recovering it was really nice - Nature
- Venera (10/5): Exceptional - I had a fantastic stay at this cozy and well-maintained hotel in Phang Nga province. The overwater balcony and open-air shower were delightful. The breakfasts served in the room were both hearty and delicious, deserving special praise. The bed linen and towels were fresh and clean. Highly recommended! Everything was good
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely rooms, a very nice garden and lake, a very friendly and caring host.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Adrienne (10/5): Great find just north of Phuket - Friendly welcome. Excellent choices for breakfast delivered to your patio. Short walk to the beach and our favourite restaurant was just down the road. If you are looking for a quiet non-touristy location this is it!
- Daniel (7/5): Peaceful and tranquil. - Breakfast was delivered to our room and the kids enjoyed feeding the huge fish in the lake.
- Nora (10/5): Amazing - Everything was amazing, beautiful nature, exceptional breakfast, comfortable bed, calm and quiet atmosphere, clean and tidy room & bathroom, great service, friendly staff. And also I loved the fish in the lake. :)
- Kevin (10/5): perfect - peaceful place . clean . i recommend
- Samantha (9/5): Very peaceful, nice comfortable room, lovely hosts. - It's a very peaceful location. Nice clean room with a good view, and near to the beach/food etc. The balcony looking over the dam is a very nice touch.
(10/5): Exceptional -
- Eric (9/5): Very peaceful place and exceptional hosts. - Quiet with lovely gardens, koi pond and beautiful rooms. Maki and her family were exception hosts and the breakfasts were delicious. Outdoor showers and beautiful night skies made the stay magical. Highly recommend. Not on the beach and a little away from things but we rented scooters and the surrounding countryside is perfect for riding. About a 5
min ride to Natai beach.
- Niamh (10/5): Friendly host and neighbours, spacious and nicely presented room. Highly recommend. - The location is lovely, bonus that you are able to feed the fish. The room is spacious and the breakfast was super tasty with extras that weren’t expected.
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Gulya (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and modern guesthouse admist a natural beautiful jungle setting. The owners were what made our stay even better. They took care of us like family and assisted in helping us in whatever matters came up.
- Marina (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Stay here and skip crowded expensive Phuket! Beaches and Jungle are amazing! - I agree with all of the nice things other folks have written about the Lantala residence! I do suggest renting a car to explore the beaches and jungle. Amazing area, with unspoiled and uncrowded beaches--unlike crowded and expensive Phuket. I had to leave after 2 night! I should have have stayed another few days and skipped Phuket.
- Lukas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lukas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shannon (10/5): Peaceful 😊 - Breakfast was brought to the room which was very nice as very nice balcony to eat breakfast from. It is very peaceful. It was very clean and we loved feeding the fish also. Lady on second and third day was very friendly and helpful however when we first checked in the other lady was not as friendly. You definitely need a mode of transport if staying here as is a little far from beach, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. We had a car so was no problem.
- Judit (9/5): Superb -
- R.bordo (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely, Cozy Place to stay! Supernature, quiet and comfortable! Great Breakfast. Friendly personal. Highly recommend Nothing.
