Guest Reviews
- Swaraj (2/5): - The bathroom is so tiny, can’t move, and the water in the bathroom smells bad
- Kevin (6/5): - I just needed a bed for the night. It was OK. Dated, old but OK.
- Gail (8/5): Overpriced - A cute motel about an hour to the Ferry.
I do think it’s overpriced in comparison to the dozen other motels we had stayed in on our Ontario holiday.
- Melanie (2/5): - Very unappealing. Tiles in the bathroom moved when you stand on them. Shower was more of a mist… Very dated. Hard to believe that room was almost 200$!
The one plus was the sheets and towels smelled amazing
- orna (6/5): - nice owner, accommodating' a great location
- Sam (10/5): - Wonderful experience. Great location, has a lovely patio with picnic tables and a bbq. Exceeded our expectations
- Harold and Ann (6/5): - Owners are super friendly and helpful. Situated right next to a busy highway so it is rather noisy. The room is very clean but a bit 'tired'.
- Charles (8/5): - Friendly owners, clean room and great price.
- Fabiano (2/5): - not Flexibility, water smelling terrible, uncomfortable bed, not kind of property should be listed on expedia
- Reina (10/5): - We got the room with 2 double beds. The room needed a bit of maintenance, but was pretty nice. Lots to watch on TV. Picnic tables and a barbeque outside, though we didn't use them. The woman in the office was very friendly. 🙂 I would stop there again.
- Deepak (8/5): - Clean room
- Szilard (10/5): - No frills accommodation. Well worth if you travel on a budget. Room was clean with a basic set up and all the essential appliances.
The motel manager very friendly.
If I revisit the area I might use it again.
- Klara (2/5): - Verry Bad !
- Don (10/5): - A nice, friendly, quiet, rural budget inn. We'll stay there again if we take the Manitoulin route.
- Michel (4/5): Bare-minimum motel. - Not great.
Everything was clean though.
Deadbolt didn't line up. Doorknob didn't latch securely. Didn't notice this until the next day.
After notifying the owners, there was a lack of urgency in the matter.
Issue was resolved that day and the locks were then working as expected.
Spring bed is sinking in. Should be replaced.
Room felt damp, but after running the AC unit to dehumidify it was fine.
Shower curtain is too high, so water splashes onto the bathroom floor. Fan obviously doesn't move enough air, so best to keep the bathroom door open.
Wifi signal was weak, but the provided Roku TV system worked perfectly well.
This motel provides the bare-minimum.
This should be your last resort choice or lowest price choice.
Ensure the deadbolt works and you're fine.
- Dave (10/5): - Comes with an outdoor patio which is very convenient and nice to have the option to relax and soak in soe food weather .. the owner is friendly and polite
- Rachelle (8/5): - We stayed for 2 nights and we enjoyed it. The owners are very nice. Quiet and beautiful sorroundings. Room is clean with everything we need like TV, microwave, fridge and kettle.
- Negar (4/5): - Stayed for one evening. Easy parking and check in/out. Bed sheets were clean. We were welcomed by a large centipede and larger spider in the washroom. When we asked for insecticide we became equipped with a fly swatter! There were also mosquitoes, flies and some other crawling insects in the room. The air conditioning unit was very loud. We decided to turn it off and sleep in the hot room. The mattress was super bouncy. The slightest movement of my partner bounced me up and vice versa. The extra Pillow(case) was smelly. Overall do not recommend.
- Lalit (10/5): - Very nice motel and really very sweet and hospitable owners…
- Meng (10/5): - Great property and owners
- heather (4/5): - It served a purpose. The room was damp. Bathroom needed some attention. Broken tiles kinds thing. Not very clean. Hair in both sink and shower.
They did have a kettle and two cups which is great if you drink tea but no tea bags etc. You need to bring your own. Bed was comfortable and the sheets and pillows were good.
- Andrey (8/5): - Cute motel with a very pleasant atmosphere.
- Giuseppe (6/5): - Ok
- Tejpreet (10/5): - Good motel with clean rooms
- Alma (8/5): - It was clean and quiet. The hosts were friendly.
- Guy (4/5): - La salle de bain était le problème : plancher sale, odeur désagréable et cabinet de douche trop petit.
La chambre était d'un format correct mais manquait de prise électrique, nous avons dû brancher nos appareils en alternance (un à la fois).
- Jacqueline (10/5): - The towels and bed sheets were really nice and soft.
Great location. Driving distance to beaches and other attractions
Friendly staff.
Beautiful garden on well maintained property.
- Shannon (4/5): - Upon entering the room a musty smell was very present. We opened the window to air it out. The room was small but clean. Advertised as a Queen bed but definitely a double but manageable if need be. Went to wash our hands and the smell of sulpher (rotten eggs) was incredibly powerful! After a long day on the road we were in need of a shower, the smell again was so strong I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to tolerate it for a shower but again desperately needed one. There was no shower head just a straight small spray of smelly water, the shower was so small it made shaving impossible for a woman. Due to the smell of the water we had to dry brush our teeth at night and morning. We had stayed at a motel the previous night with better accommodations for $40 less a night. Tonight we are staying in another motel with a king bed, large shower and non smelling water for again $40.00 less and in a bigger metropolis. So disappointing as we love travelling and supporting small motels/inns but this unfortunately was a rare, very dissatisfying stay.
- Thomas (10/5): - Nice place. Pleasant to visit. Electric cT charging a plus !
- Noah (10/5): - It was basic and clean, had hair dryer, kettle, tv, alarm clock, mini fridge, towels etc. Good for a one night stay, 20 mins from Sauble beach, 45 mins to Tobermory.
- Sherri (6/5): - It was fine. Slept well but it wasn't a long stay so nothing really to review.
- ANDREA (8/5): - Cleanliness and free parking.
- Monetta (10/5): Sauna in room surprise - We had an awesome experience here! There was even a very nice sauna in our room!! One of my favorite parts. I’d recommend this place to my family and friends and would certainly stay here again!
- iurii (10/5): - This was a good and quiet stay which I really enjoyed. The stars at night really were bright too! The customer service was excellent as well!
- Engel (8/5): - Quiet place, friendly host
- Ron (2/5): - I called to say I was on my way. They said I had no reservation, so I went somewhere else. Still got charged $135 on my credit card. Called them about it. They said get in touch with you. No luck with that until now. Need a refund please.
- Suzanne (6/5): - Room was very clean but basic. Bed was not comfortable.
- Vera (8/5): - Basic but very clean room - I appreciated the tile floors which means no dirty carpets! Mattresses were encased. Non smoking rooms, no odours. I had the deluxe room which included two queen beds. Room has no hair dryer (bring your own!) Or coffee maker but it does have a kettle (preferred!) Bring your own coffee and tea. Microwave and bar fridge which is better than what some hotels have. Great value for money. Quiet ..only five rooms and the proprietors live on-site. Everything in a great state of repair and the plush linens were in excellent condition. I was worried because I haven't stayed in a motel for years but this exceeded expectations for this class of accomodation.
- Jacques (2/5): - The owners of the property did not believe that COVID-19 was true and did not follow any thing the government said nothing. I was told to take off my mask.
The floor was weak like I was going to fall through. No soap or shampoo was available. Flies everywhere worst place ever stayed. If this is how bookings.com works I will never use them again. I will ask my credit card company not to accept the charge do nt cate what it takes
- Markus (8/5): - it was clean and cozy
- Bruce (8/5): - Easy check out
- sharon (6/5): - could use an update but clean air conditioner noisy but at least worked
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Clean, comfortable and friendly.
- Sylvain (8/5): - It was very peaceful and quiet. But it was the first motel I've been in that doesn't offer coffee or tea, and you have to bring your own.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect place for 1 night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Tv did not work, bed old and creaky, washbasin had no stopper
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Did not like anything. We paid $200 fir the room and the motel had a sign board right outside saying $99 all rooms . Felt cheated coz we paid more than double
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything about this place is great
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable place to stay. Staff were pleasant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay. Location was very close to amenities and convenient to site seeing. Room was clean a spacious for single person or couple.
Staff was great too.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property is just OK.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great little spot near to Bruce Peninsula's attractions. Clean room and nice staff.
They were quite accommodating including extending the check-in time so that we could get there from the last Manitoulin ferry. Only downside I would say is the shower is a little small (maybe a U shape curtain rod from outside would add a little more space), and bed a bit squeaky. That being said, I wouldn't mind staying here for a couple days or a week while visiting the nearby attractions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A good place to stay.
- Lucas (10/5): - Absolutely lovely couple running the place. The actual room was clean, had a fridge, microwave, kettle, satellite TV, clean washroom. Very nice.
- Cindy (10/5): - It served the purpose and was clean. Great reception.
- Alex (8/5): - Your first impression of the place would give you low expectations but the room was clean, updated and had clean, cozy bedding. Bring your own shampoo tho. Better than most places in that area for sure.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was pretty good. Clean place and close to many places.
- Sal (6/5): - Needs proper cleaning to get rid of strange smells inside, and to remove dead mosquitos on the ceiling.
- Tauseef (8/5): Overall convenient and nice - I and my wife stayed there for one night in Aug 2020. Its conveniently located right on the highway, nice and clean. The room was clean and facilities were satisfactory.
The only things that bothered us were the cold floors and the shower. The shower faucet was unmoveable and was unadjustable for one's height. and sprays very little water.
- Murali-Shalu (10/5): - Mile Inn Motel is a very conveniently located Motel, right off Highway 6. The rooms are very spacious. And best of all Dan, is a very nice person. You will love your stay at Mile Inn Motel.
- margarita (10/5): - Clean and comfortable experience for the first in a motel.
- Michael (8/5): Decent place to spend the night - They fit everything you need for a basic overnight stay in a small space but everything for the most part worked fine. The freezer on the fridge doesn't actually freeze so don't plan on that.
- Stephane (10/5): Good - Nice place
- John (8/5): - We stayed here overnight on the way to Tobermory. It was a nice enough hotel. Its close to Wiarton and not too far from Sauble Beach. The room was clean. The service was friendly. There wasn't anything to do at the hotel, but good enough for an overnight stay.
- Christine (10/5): - The staffs are super friendly. Check in is fast, and our room is clean! and also, my boyfriend said he loves their bed; very soft and comfyy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a very good 3 nights stay at this motel. The room was cool (AC worked well) and large, the bathroom always had hot water and the patio outside was great. We used it to eat dinner every day!
Only downside is that we found the beds a bit uncomfortable, but we still slept okay
We really appreciated the kettle, microwave and fridge.
The owners were nice and welcoming
- Jane (10/5): Enjoyed my stay - The room is comfortable and clean and yes the shower is small but all in all, I enjoyed the room as it was only a base to leave my belonging, to sleep, or to have meals. No cooking in the room. That part should bother no one as microwave heats food nicely or for me, I had meals when out traveling.
ONLY DRAWBACK TO THE ROOM.!!!
Room 3 had no screen door so time spent in the room was dark because it had only one window. To open the door and that invited the bugs into the room, was told that problem will be fixed in the fall. Really enjoyed my stay and for me personally the price was reasonable. The motel is on a major highway so morning until evening one has to put up with the noise of the traffic. That the only drawback to this motel. Wiarton is only about 5 mins south of the motel so easy access to shops and the beach. I enjoyed myself and have no real complaints, would go back anytime I needed a room.
- CHANTAL (10/5): - Great service, quick check in, beds weren’t as comfortable as I’d like.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Right off the hwy, 45mins away from Tobermory , there are things to explore nearby like bruces caves. Wiarton is a nice place with grocery, Tim's, waterfront spaces amd parks to explore with kids. Stayed for two nights. Not fancy ..at all...just a olace to redt your head. Not a place tonstay all day..just bathe and sleep and go. Owners were fine.
- Nick (10/5): - The motel is nice and clean. Comes with AC, wifi and free parking. That's pretty awesome and that's all we need. For the cheap affordable price you can spend on Tim Hortons breakfast that's only 5 minutes drive away. Overall, the room exceeds my expectations. There is no amenities but hey, it's a motel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was clean and quiet. Checking in and out was fast. I was online the area for a short time and the Mile Inn provided what I needed.
- Brenda (6/5): - Owner was friendly. The grounds and room were clean. Unfortunately the mattress was very hard and we were unable to sleep well.
There is a fridge and kettle as advertised in the room so bring your own tea/instant coffee.
Soap is provided but suggest to bring your own shampoo etc.
- Philip (10/5): - Great service, the owners were extremely friendly and gracious. Our room was very clean and had all the amenities you would need. Great stay, will be back for sure.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is a small business and you are given plenty of freedom under their set house rules. The room is air conditioned with a microwave, refrigerator and a kettle. The refrigerator was the most handy during our visit. The bathroom has a shower stall with a shower head that you cannot adjust the water spray- very annoying. The bed was firm with little give, and indoor seating was an issue- room came with one chair! Plenty of furniture outside... and my least favourite issue was they do not offer cleaning service on a two day stay!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was very small, basically a bed and small bathroom.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nice room size gives extra spaces. However, service is poor. They are unable to satisfy guests’ needs when asked which is very disappointing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bathroom was huge. However they need to change the showerhead as I found it was too small and didn't give off a full spray
- Verified traveler (8/5): - price is very good! easy to find, right on highway 6. location is great for those who want to use their motel as a base from which to explore Bruce Peninsula....easy to go north or south! Clean and comfortable enough (though the bed might not be as good as what you left at home) But friendly people and helpful and amazing quality for the price...
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Bought the room for my mom who travelled 4 hours to come visit me, she left in a huge thunderstorm to go check in and the guy have her a hard time because she wasn’t the card holder
- glen (4/5): - over priced bed is old metal slat
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked that the staff went out of their way to accommodated us when we had a change of plans.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was smelly. Lucky to have another vacant room to stay in. water was too slow running out of the shower and faucet.
as general, room was ok
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place, clean, everything you need for the night
- Jane (4/5): - Bed sheet is not fresh and clean, first time see a black sheet in a motel!
shower is not working, no hot water come out. the appliance in room is good, cattle, fridge working well. Also it is far away from the national park. expedia should show the distance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel room is very clean and well equipped with appliances.
