Guest Reviews
- Paul (9/5): Excellent location for the quayside and also town centre. Car parks are a little confusing - location lack of natural light
- Zahra (8/5): - Location was excellent and within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Easy check-in and check out. Floors and bathroom could be cleaned. Some dirt and hair was found at the beginning of the stay.
- Marie (10/5): - Loved everything about this apartment.
Location was perfect a little oasis. Nothing.
- Otilia (8/5): Good place - The property was so cosy , warm with all the facilities that you could possibly want! It literally was in town centre and walking distance from everywhere and so quite that I didn’t want to leave . It was hard to find as we did not know where it was and it is hidden but apart from that fab little place The staff were rude and non responsive . I told them that we would arrive at 10pm due to coming from the north west and but the code went to my junk an from 10pm we got there we didnt get into the apartment until almost 1am in the morning. We literally rang them so many times and sent messages and there were not responding . If you are running a business especially an air b and b you have to be prepared to get a phone call all the time no matter the time .
They responded the next day via booking.com abruptly and rudely. So their customer service needs to be worked on and we didn’t get our money’s worth !! So that was disappointing.

- Jonathan (10/5): Comfortable, convenient apartment - Great location within walking distance of waterfront and city centre. Excellent communications from Fred at Velo Apartments. The flat was well equipped, comfortable and clean.
- Rhys (10/5): Perfect - Everything I needed
- Georgina (10/5): -
- Teresa (10/5): This is a great apartment, with all the facilities you need for a short stay. - Great apartment, in a good location with a superb host.

- Cheryl (9/5): - The apartment was clean, cosy and comfortable. The access and check in process is seamless and easy to follow. We also loved that there are shops and restaurants right around the corner, which made it easy to immediately stock up on our food and snacks for our stay. We absolutely enjoyed our few days here.
- Stephanie (10/5): Great location, central to everything. A little home away from home. Would stay again! Thank you! -
- Ribeiro (1/5): - IF I could, I would give zero in reviews and essays. People are totally unprepared to run a business. They live next door, have access to the house, and have several cameras watching you all the time. IF you can't have visitors, they should make that very clear in the ad. I had some friends over and they said I was doing prostitution work. They are extremely ignorant and don't know how to talk. They came in screaming like crazy people, entered the house, and asked me to leave with the intention of keeping the money. I don't recommend this house to anyone. Besides, it's in a dark location and far away. IF I could, I would give zero in reviews and essays. People are totally unprepared to run a business. - Trix (7/5): Goed verblijf - Ruim appartement. Alles was aanwezig. Centrale locatie. Zitje buiten. Minder geschikt voor ons vanwege gebruik scootmobiel. Drempels en manouvreren om in de verschillende ruimtes te komen. Drukke weg als je buiten zit, binnen geen last.
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Marion (10/5): - The communication with the owners was outstanding from start to finish. The apartment is spotless, so practical and absolutely lovely. Honestly? Nothing bad to say.

- Lewis (9/5): Superb -
- Melanie (8/5): Great location. Clean. Minor improvements required to make it more comfortable - Location was great. Very clean The sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable so I think this needs changing if it continues to be advertised as 3 adults
Also the shower head sprayed water out of the sides. Just needs a new head
- Jill (8/5): Very good - This is a lovely little hideaway apartment in the middle of Ipswich with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There's not much natural light, but that didn't bother me as I wasn't spending time there during the day
- Jerry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brittany (9/5): Superb - Lovely spotlessly clean apartment within walking distance of the centre. Access felt secure. Had a great stay. Would have loved a washing machine within the property but beyond that, perfect stay!
- Trinny (8/5): A private, very comfortable place , ideal for a short stay in central Ipswich. - Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Star apartment a very private & quiet place. Great location walking distance to city centre & just across the road from the marina. Spotlessly clean , thoughtfully equipped , very comfortable bed . Nothing missing , everything you need for a short stay. A parking space would make it perfect . I expect to return next time I need to be in Ipswich. Apart from the limited natural light :the small window / covered terrace means you are unable to see if there’s a blue sky or rain, there is nothing really to unlike about this apartment. All is as shown in the pictures so you can see what you are booking. .
- Mel (10/5): A home away from home - I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the place was. The pictures looked lovely but in real life, what a beautiful little place to stay. N/A
- Anna (10/5): Very happy, would recommend this accomondation! - The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It was also very well equipped with everything you need for a holiday stay. There was not much daylight coming in but as we were outdoors most of the time we did not really mind
- Almudena (10/5): Great apartment, well equipped and conveniently located - The apartment is prepared with everything you need to feel at home. Kitchenware, toiletries, extra towels…whatever you need. We were also traveling with a baby and they went out of their way to suit our needs. The hosts were super nice and communication was always easy and quick.
- Laurie (1/5): Bad -
- Nicola (10/5): Perfect stay in Ipswich - What a hidden gem of a place
The accommodation has everything you need for a wonderful stay in Ipswich.
It's in a central location with plenty of food and drinks options all within easy walking distance.
Can't wait to stay here again!
- Bleona (9/5): Superb -
- Victoria (9/5): Superb -

- Chanelle (10/5): Lovely little break to Ipswich, lovely apartment and great location. Very helpful and friendly hosts - Came here for a short weekend away with my sister. Lovely apartment, very clean, perfect location was walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Hosts were amazing and very helpful. Hairdryer broke but had a new one delivered by them within 20 mins. Also provided us with extra blankets and mattress topper for sofa bed. Nothing was too much. We would definitely stay again in future! Thanks again.
- Humera (7/5): Good - well equipped kitchen. good heating the compact double bed was fine for a solo traveller, bit small for two I imagine
The mattress could have been firmer. quality of bedding mediocre
- Steve (8/5): OK for business stay - wouldn’t take the wife - Lovely clean place with all the amenities. Was a bit dark due to lack of windows.
- Ayshea (9/5): Great location for waterfront - Location brilliant, modern accommodation Shower, if one had a shower then If next person went in too quickly they got a mix of freezing then scalding... This was our only grump
- Andrew (10/5): Home from home - It’s perfect location, so nice having kitchen and lounge, home from home Leaving
- Allison (10/5): Perfect for a trip to Ipswich. - Central location. Clean and comfortable. Attractive decor and well equipped throughout, especially the bathroom and kitchen.
- Neil (9/5): Used property as perfect base to cycle around towns close to Ipswich. - Great location close to Marina. Nothing.. all good.
- Phil (9/5): Superb -
- Carolinej (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, all the linen and towels were soft and smelt amazing! Lovely decor throughout.
Good size space, separate kitchen with everything you need, including toaster, microwave, oven, hob, kettle, filter coffee machine, washing up liquid.
Mini shower gels, shampoos, and body lotions were a nice touch in the bathroom.
TVs in both the lounge and bedroom (just note the TV in the lounge is not a smart TV, just normal Freeview channels).
Previous reviews mentioned needing some side tables in the lounge, which they now have.
Plenty of storage space throughout.
There's a tower fan should you need it.
Outside space felt private and secure. There's no parking - Fore Street car park is just behind the apartment and is free 10pm-8am, max stay in the day is 5hrs (£5.50).
We also used Total Car park on Star Lane behind Bears Bar just across the road, which was cheaper for the day at the weekend.
- Mel (10/5): Perfect little apartment. All amenities and close to the marina and shops. - It was spotless
Close to the pretty Marina. Nothing
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Central location gives great access to town center, theatre and waterfront. It's located inside a busy one way system but once inside its no problem and being close to town centre it can be expected.
Watch out for aggressive seagulls!
- Carolyn (10/5): Ipswich lived up to our expectation and Star apartment was perfect for us. - Compact but comfortable and very handy to railway station (20 minute walk) riverside (5 minute walk), pub (5 minute walk) and centre of town (10-15 minute walk). Very good quality TV. The outdoor space will be great for warmer weather. Although the flat is on a main road (Star Lane), it is very well sound-insulated. We had a small issue upon arrival, but Fred was extremely helpful and sorted it while we were out for dinner. Wonderful shower unit. There were no facilities for recycling rubbish - just 1 bin bag for everything. The eating areas - both inside and outside, are only set up for 2 people, so this is really just a 2-person flat. This was fine for my cousin and myself. We wondered how 3 or 4 people would manage to eat together.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional -

- Seamus (9/5): Our stay was great value for money and had everything we needed for our visit. - Very clean and well appointed. The instruction booklet was very well laid out and very clear. The towels were excellent. The sofa bed was one of the best I have slept on in this type of accommodation. The car park beside the apartment was easy to park in and was free after 10pm until 8am. The kitchen had everything we needed.
- Angela (10/5): Clean safe place to stay thanks - Great property surprise location! The courtyard is great! Nothing all was good
- Breda (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, clean and comfortable. This is the second time we stayed in this apartment and would definitely be back.
- Sophie (6/5): Good value for money, good location, could do with a bit of extra TLC, & fixing water temp in shower - Good size space for two, clean, sufficient bathroom amenities and kitchen utensils/crockery etc.
Host we met was lovely and we were given a late check-out upon request.
Heating in lounge and bedroom.
Felt secure and very private.
Quiet even on main road.
Close to waterfront and town. Shower temperature - either scalding or cold. Had to constantly switch between both. Changing the water pressure gauge helps slightly.
Front door on main road a little tricky to get to with luggage if parked behind the building.
Kitchen could have done with basic cooking amenities i.e. condiments, salt & pepper, oil/vinegar, bin bags (no bin bags at all).
Bed - fairly basic and could feel springs.
TV in bedroom kept turning on - sometimes in the middle of the night which was spooky! Maybe there is a timer or reminder set that needs removing?
Overall finishes of the renovation seemed rushed, some usb plug sockets not working in bedroom.
- Paul (10/5): Great stay in a lovely apartment - The apartment is in a great location, has a fantastic use of space and is very private. The facilities are excellent and a comfortable bed. Whilst you don’t have parking, Fore Street car park is next door for drop off and there’s cheap parking within a few mins (we parked at Blackfriars car park). The owners are very friendly and welcoming and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Nothing - was excellent.
- Callum (8/5): Very nice place - Very nice inside Sofa bed wasn’t the best
- Maria (8/5): Really good - It was very close to the waterfront and the town centre it was clean and had everything you need Only negative is that you don’t get a parking space with this
- James (9/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay
- Andrew (10/5): So much better than sterile hotel room. - It’s very well equipped, clean comfortable. Perfect to relax in. Nothing
- Susan (6/5): Modern apartment great location - Style of apartment, cleanliness everything we needed. The water quality, was haunted and couldn't find broom to sweep floors.
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Vladimir (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, clean and good furniture There is ironing desk but no iron in the property
- Jan (9/5): Superb -
- Brandon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dejan (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Small but very pleasant. Very clean and well equipped.
- Mike (9/5): Superb - Owner very responsive and good to deal with
- Martyn (9/5): Superb -
- Trevor (5/5): Adequate, business man type accomodation, but no homely additions. - No breakfast.
Location convenient.
Premises hard to find. I booked and paid through my own email, yet was only given the codes for entry once my partner had sent her proof of identity, which to me was not necessary.
Premises were very hard to find.
Simple courtesy like a welcome card, milk in the fridge would have been nice.
- Neil (9/5): second time staying at this property and would book again if staying in Ipswich - Good size, very clean and great location nothing….l
- Anthony (10/5): Perfect - Absolutely perfect accommodation while staying in Ipswich. Very clean and very comfortable with the most amazing bed.
Facilities were all on hand for what we needed and within walking distance to the waterfront .
Staff were always on hand for questions .
Will definitely be staying again . N/a
- Paul (10/5): Fantastic - Everything!! The apartment was well set out, the kitchen had everything we needed, even a bottle opener which is usually missing. The bed was comfy enough, and very happy to find wardrobe space WITH enough coat hangers for 2 people. The bathroom was clean and had a heated railing which hubby loved as he had warm towels after his shower. Nice touches with toiletries etc. The area despite facing onto a busy main road and being a 5 minute walk from the Marina was surprisingly very quiet. Could do with a small coffee table in the lounge however we solved this by bringing in the small patio table so overall nothing to dislike at all.
- Omotola (8/5): Very good - It was very clean and comfortable The outer parts of the property need some renovation
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Melanie (8/5): Lovely and easy to find - Excellent location, easy to find and access. Very nice accommodation although I was out a lot, would like to spend more time in the apartment next time but that's my fault! TV turned on by itself and scared the life out of me, probably just a cross signal. I usually travel with my dog so my only issue is that usually I won't be able to stay there as it's not dog friendly.
- Ruth (9/5): Nicely presented apartment very handy for town centre and waterfront. - Very nice apartment, convenient for the town and waterfront, plenty of pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Well equipped with kitchen equipment and toiletries. Comfortable bed, good sized bathroom, shower was ok. We found it difficult to find. Parking was a bit problematic, but we adjusted our timings to be out for most of the chargeable period. A coffee table would have been good, as others have already said, so you don't have to put your coffee on the floor, with the risk of knocking it over. Also for some reason only one bedside table, although there's space for one on the other side.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Breda (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - I am very impressed with the facilities. Plenty of towels , complimentary toiletries, well stocked kitchen. Lovely decor everything I needed was provided. I would recommend this apartment to all my friends also a great location.
In the next street behind the apartment, I found a carpark that allowed me to pre pay for parking for the duration of my stay. This was great as it meant I didn't have to keep feeding the meter. The owner also provides a folder with full instructions for your stay and information about the area. The accommodation also felt very secure with two private entry doors. The owners also kept me up to date. Every step of the way with my booking, this was very reassuring . It is not a totally negative comment, as the outside space was lovely, but it was a shame it didn't get more sun/ light. Due to the roof and side structure but having said that, it did make it feel nice and private.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Toshiko (8/5): Very good -
- Doubt (9/5): Superb - The place was nice and clean, very close to the town centre and most things The shower was too small
- Hayward (9/5): Home away from home - The property was like a little home from home. It had everything we needed, the only thing that was missing was a corkscrew haha. There were plenty of cup, plates and cooking utensils, it really had everything we needed. The bed was big and comfy. It was a lovely place to stay and I would definitely stay again. The best thing was that it was so close to town and right next to some of my favourite restaurants. Just that there was no corkscrew.
- Sylvia (9/5): Clean and comfortable apartment in central location - Really clean and well maintained The shower pressure could be higher.
- Grant (10/5): Exceptional - The space and comfort We liked everything
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Sheelagh (10/5): Very pleasant accommodations, and any problems were quickly dealt with. - Breakfast not included. Very well appointed accommodation. An instruction book to help with stove, microwave, heating, tv’s and microwave. Living in the USA many of these things are different and instructions would have helped.
- Adebola (7/5): Good -
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Duncan (7/5): Nice place nice location - Location is great. Clean and well appointed. The private outside space is a bonus. Traveling without check in instructions. Property access info was withheld until an hour before check in. Seating needs upgrade.
- Gisela (4/5): Disappointing - Clean Appartment. Nice Bathroom. No light. No view.
- Linda (7/5): Good -
- Luke (6/5): Fair - Location was great, very clean inside, had everything we needed. Bed was very uncomfortable as was on wheels was sliding everywhere as we slept. Bathroom shower wasn't great, outside area didn't look the best.
- Anthony (8/5): Very good - Very central The microwave and one electric radiator did not work. Or I could not work them!
- Lorraine (7/5): Great location, excellent value, missing a few home comforts. - Location was fantastic, 2 minute walk to the marina/quay. Spotlessly clean. Modern. Bright and airy. Outside space a bonus. TV in bedroom was another bonus. Great place to stay for younger people. Excellent value and great host. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Seating area for eating meals was impossible for 2 old aged pensioners. There is space for table and chairs. A coffee table in lounge would have been welcomed instead of putting drinks on floor.
- Evelyn (9/5): Great return visit - Return visit for us. Great location close to university, waterfront and town centre. Clean, comfortable with good facilities.
