Guest Reviews
- alistair (6/5): - The hotel itself was good however the room was too hot and did not have an external window so we had to contact reception to fix the aircon which they did not do. The first receptionist told us all rooms were fully booked so we couldnt move but after 1 night in the room we spoke to another receptionest who managed to move us rooms.
- Roderick (10/5): - Rooms were clean, staff was courteous. Only issue was the key system, they never got it to work with two keys (one would always NOT work from the beginning, for both rooms). Every time we asked to fix one key, it would disable the other…so what was the point in giving us two keys?
The other issue is you get what you paid for. There is literally only room to sleep. No room for luggage. We pushed them under the bed. Bed frames are smaller than the mattress so you can’t even sit on the side of the bed. Bathroom sink size is below standards. Can’t even bow down to wash your face ( your head would hit the wall - the sink is sooo narrow and close to the wall). Shower head wasn’t working right and on our first day, sink drain cap was stuck in the closed position so we had to brush our teeth, wash our hands, etc in the shower, but they quickly addressed it the next day. Breakfast was reasonable - ham and eggs were standard protein.
If you just need a place to put your stuff and sleep, it’s ok. But don’t expect to do anything else in your room. Also, because there’s a bunk bed, I keep hitting my head on it every time I reached for something on the bedside while I was up. Although thankful for the price (got it for less than $70/night), I’m never doing that again…would rather stay a little further away from downtown in a nicer hotel. On the flip side, the attached Ibis (non Budget) was nice, had a classy spacious lobby that we used…probably just spring for that next time.
- Rene (6/5): - Very nice staffing, helpful and professional willing to accommodate inquiries. But room is too very small.
I meant really tiny for 2 person.
- Robert (6/5): - It’s better to stay in an IBIS that isn’t tagged with budget / price difference marginal and you get much better rooms for a mere ten euros more
- Daniel (10/5): - Small but comfortable room. Staff were very very helpful and polite. Would 100% stay again. Great for being close but not in the middle of the city
- Gersende (8/5): - Lalala
- Mark (8/5): - The room was tiny!
- marina (6/5): - tight
- Carol (10/5): - Our campervan was possibly too tall for the underground car park so staff organised van to park at the side of hotel! Staff were super efficient and helpful
- Daniel (10/5): - Loved it
- Marsha (10/5): Great place to stay if only a short visit - Great location, great price, would definitely stay again.
- Christopher (10/5): - Nice clean hotel. Very comfy bed and pillows. Staff is very helpful. Great bar and restaurant on premises
- Tess (6/5): Great for a quick cheap overnight stay - Very budget stay, great for a stop over though. Basic breakfast but prob not our kind of place overall for any longer.
- RICHARD (10/5): Basic but worth it - Great stay, close to everything. Both Ibis Budget and regular Ibis are connected. The room was small and very basic, just a bed and small dresser tables. That was it. It served basic purpose. The tram line is right outside a block away (plus it is the line that goes to the airport). It was about less than a 10 minute walk to the main center center. The breakfast was okay, but nothing to wow wow. They close the door to the Ibis Budget at 10pm, and you have to use the main Ibis hotel door to get in. I would stay here again.
- Ian (8/5): Value for money in good location - Great location. Easy walk to all attractions and next to tram stop. Room was small but adequate. Air con was excellent in very hot temperatures . Breakfast was fine. Good value for money
- Ryan (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very accommodating to us which we greatly appreciated! Our first day arriving wasn't great as the AC in the room wasn't good, the room was fairly cramped and we had landed in the midst of a heatwave, but they were able be move to a more comfortable space which we were very grateful for.
- Line (8/5): - Fint hotel.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Rooms are small and shower is a squeeze if tall and bigger than average size!!!
Take breakfast out at local cafes
Close to tram stops.
Reception team very good
Bar good for a relaxing drink
- Marina (8/5): - Easy check in. Parking a bit hard to find in the hotel. Rooms small but clean with a few amenities. Bed comfy.
- Louisa (8/5): Good value and location - Great location and perfect for what we were looking for - comfortable, basic, low cost place to stay. Nice breakfast and friendly bar with patio. Enjoyed our stay.
- Nathalie (8/5): - Pas loin du centre de Bordeaux
- Chris (10/5): - The property was easily accessible, staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, parking easy. The only issue are the roadworks outside the front door, but the hotel has used good signage to show guests entrances.
- HARRIETT (8/5): - Tub open8ng blocked by glass wall unless very agile. At 78 i am not agile
- Terry (10/5): High value tourist hotel - Let’s be clear, this is a two star tourist hotel. In my view, they execute a very high value two star tourist hotel. It is not the grand hotel. It does not cost like the grand hotel.
- bruno (8/5): bon Hotel tres bien placé - Tres bon accueil.
- Fernando (10/5): - Easy to get around, one line of the train goes by every 7 minutes and get you anywhere, very easy to learn. I stay in the budget part of the hotel , the room was very small , but is Europe.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small room but adequate for two.
A table that folder up against the wall in the corner of the room would have been better as unable to get round the bed.
Not being a couple, a privacy curtain or screen to the shower would have been good.
Not much room to enter the toilet room.
- Arlene (6/5): - We arrived late at night and we were very tired and hungry. I booked 4 rooms and two out of 4 rooms didn’t have lights. The staff who assisted us tried to fix but it took a very long time for them to figure out or offer an alternative room for us the only open food store that would deliver was McDonald which we gave in since we were very hungry. We were thankful that they changed two of the rooms but I still feel frustrated coz our light in the bathroom that night didn’t work. It worked in the beginning. I was too tired to complain anymore. The only good thing about this hotel was it walkable to some shopping and food district. I don’t think I will stay here again.
- Martin (4/5): - Sehr kleines Zimmer, keine funktionierende Klimaanlage, daher sehr warm. Positiv: sehr sauber, zentrale Lage
- ANNE (8/5): - I did like all
- Laurent (6/5): - Chambre petite, sensation d'enfermement.
- Lola (8/5): - Good location
- Manuel (6/5): - Very well located hotel, right in a main avenue of the city (the tram stop to the airport is just in front);
The room looks much bigger in the photos than it really is;
I was solo and couldn't almost dress myself how narrow were the spaces everywhere;
The traffic in the main avenue in front is heavy everytime and the windows not enough proofed, so be aware to order a room to the back side of the building (you can even hear the pigeons taking care of its nest just outside the window).
- Elif (6/5): The hotel was under construction - The room and most things met my expectations, however; the hotel was under construction and I wasn’t able to sleep during the day due to the noise and I was sleepless from the night before.
- Wayne (6/5): - It was a very noisy hotel
- Grecia (8/5): Precio/calidad bien. - Buena experiencia.
Habitación muy pequeña.
- Yvonne (2/5): - The room is too small. Temperature too hot. Charge 2 euros to hold luggage. Never again.
- Polly (6/5): - Suited our purposes very well for a quick stop over In Bordeaux, Lift was very difficult!
- Carole (8/5): Small room good value - Small hotel in good location next to airport tram stop. Ideal for a short stay in the city.
- Andrew (6/5): - It's a budget property, and if you're fine with all that entails, go for it.
Pros: Low price, if you don't have to park
Cons: Very small room space, making far less efficient use of the tight quarters than I've seen at other Ibis budget properties.
I've stayed at other Ibis budget properties and this one doesn't compare well, making much poorer use of the extremely limited space (consider that there was no way two people could pass by each other at the foot of the bed, and that area had the most room). If you're on foot, it's still a decent deal. If you're driving, once you add in the cost of parking, I wouldn't recommend it. Desk personnel were great though--some Ibis budget hotels don't have that.
- Shuna (6/5): - There was a flood so we were evacuated from the room at 5am and had to sit downstairs in the reception for 2 hours. Staff did their best to be helpful and we have been told we will get a refund. It is one of those freak things that happened and can't always be helped. It is in a very central place, perfect for exploring Bordeaux in half a day
- Bel (8/5): - The room is very small, it could be a problem if you have big luggage.
- Magda (8/5): - It is a budget option and I appreciate the price. It was clean and odourless, these are two key things for me.
The location is superb! It is within walkable distance to everywhere and die cite de vin, you can take a tram and change or walk for a bit and get the direct tram.
- Catherine (6/5): Clean simple but hotels.com checkin time wrong - Room is small but clean. Decent location. However we had booked this hotel due to the checkin at noon : checkin is not until 2pm and it costs to use the luggage room. Also on final day cleaner came into room at 10am when checkout is noon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Central to everything you need, tram ride straight from airport to across road from hotel most landmarks walking distance
- Martial (8/5): - It was fine - no restaurant open - but price is good and hotel is clean.
- Patricia (10/5): - Excellent hotel for a one night stay in Bordeaux. Near the cathedral and a variety of dining options. Would recommend and would stay at this hotel again.
- Dimitrios (8/5): - Decent stay, and quite a few options for continental breakfast, waffles, pain au chocolats, cakes, etc. The only annoying thing is that checkout is at 2 pm, so I had to walk around Bordeaux for ages cuz I had got there at 11. Very ealkable to city centre, really close to the tram stop and bus stop and a Carefour right across the street in case you need to grab something.
- Nicola (4/5): Do not recommend - For what it is, it is very expensive. The 3 person rooms have a bunk bed on the top which is very small. There is only a little window and the door used for the room is the same as for the toilet. It was an uncomfortable stay and not worth the money, even though this was the cheapest option in town, it was terrible and I wouldn't stay again. It wasn't the same as IBIS in the states like I know it. Much prefer to go to a guesthouse or something as this was so tiny and very hot
- MICHAEL (2/5): - The staff were pleasant. However: the bathroom was so small and it really could use upgrading; there was the smallest window I have ever seen that barely opened; the aircon did not work; it had zero amenities and the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. I know it says budget hotel, but this was definitely not accurately described. I would never stay here again.
- YU HEI (8/5): Very helpful reception, nice air-conditioned room - The booking at hotels.com said check in time started at noon, but when I arrived the staff said it was 2pm and they could not give me a room, while storing luggage would cost additional 2 Euros. When I was a bit frustrated by this, another staff at the reception (Timothee) kindly helped me find a room which was ready for check-in, I appreciated his help in resolving this matter in a nice way.
One good thing about staying here is that, even though it is a budget ibis hotel, breakfast is included. While we needed to check out earlier than breakfast time, we were still able to grab some pastry and coffee before we left.
In addition, rooms in this hotel are equipped with air conditioning, which is very important during summer as Bordeaux can be very hot.
- Paul (4/5): VERY BUDGET - I arrived late, they had wrong room ready, was super small, nothing like the photos, very old. I complained and they moved me to disabled room which was bigger but still same condition, uncomfortable beds and just old.. The breakfast was terrible also, didn't eat the 2nd day, went to a bakery
- NANCY (2/5): - The rooms were quite small. Not surprising since it was an ibis budget. Our issue is that the air quality was very poor as the bulding has a mold problem. My husband is very reactive to mold and I am very sensitive to the smell of mold. We did our best to spend as little time inside the room as possible for our health sake. Opening windows helped but my husband still reacted and we couldn't spend any extra time inside the room beyond a few hours of sleep. It is 3 days later and my hisband is now dealing with lung issues because of this mold exposure. It wasn't only our room, our kids were in another room and their air quality/mold was just the same, as was in the hallways on multiple floors.
- David (4/5): Not quite as Described - Need to be more upfront that the parking costs are not included and how much they are. The check in was very slow, you appear not to have the systems that are link to your suppliers. The bed was really uncomfortable. Also be more upfront about the extremely small size of the bedroom.
- Marion (10/5): - Dependable and pet-friendly!
The breakfast at this Ibis was really great, too!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For the price there is nothing to complain about really considering its location. Enjoyed my stay
- Jianwei (10/5): - The location is good, and you can walk to the centre in 5 minutes. The transport is convenient that you can go to anywhere by tram or bus. The room is decent and you have no point to complain about.
- Suzanne (8/5): - Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Room we had was very small with very little standing room. Good price for a place to put your head down for sleep. Front desk staff were incredible!
- Verified traveler (8/5): For travelers - The hotel is old, needs some TLC. The light behind the bed didn't turn off completely and it boder us.
- Fabio (8/5): Good place to stay, excellent location. - The room is just about the right size, I only go there to sleep and store our luggage, so no need to a big room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is close to almost all touristic attractions. The shower could be a little bigger, I'm a big guy and was a little hard to shower. Overall, it's a good place to stay.
- MATTHEW (6/5): -
Small room with no amenities and the showers had mold. Literally had to scoot around the bed. Staff was very friendly though
- Cynthia (8/5): Everything you need - Could use some updates but it had è ero we needed
- Deborah (8/5): - Room was very small but clean and quiet. Good value if you're not planning to spend much time in the hotel anyway. Great location!
- Lee (10/5): - This hotel is excellent value for money. It's a short walk into the centre, the rooms are air conditioned, clean and quiet. It's fairly basic but has everything you need. I would definitely stay again.
- wendy (10/5): bordeaux - Close to the centre.
friendly staff.
Nice roof terrace
- John (6/5): - The check-in staff was very nice and the welcome was good. The room was a bit small. Very little space to move around. There was no door separating the bathroom from the room except for a bathroom curtain. The toilet was so small one needed to keep the door open to use it.
- ChrisTowse (8/5): - Offered to let me leave my bags even after I checked out
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ban unsupervised school groups - One very late night due to a selfish coach load of English teenagers on a school jolly. All room doors vang loudly otherwise they don't lock.. Kids and banging doors.. Hmmm but great location
- Bridget (8/5): Does what it says on the tin - Standard Ibis budget hotel. Clean, convenient to town and airport with good access to public transport.
- Oliver (10/5): A good stay in centre of Bordeaux - Cheap and cheerful
- Andrew (8/5): Adequate - This hotel is no frills but central. If you're only after a bed and a shower this is fine
