Guest Reviews
- Chris (1/5): -
- Nicole (1/5): Hell no - Nothing Everything and I broke out in bumps
- Maya (7/5): -
- Megan (7/5): - It's an old and tired motel but very clean. You can tell that they take pride in this place with what they have.
- Porter (5/5): -
- Porter (5/5): -
- Robert (8/5): - Bed, shower, and coffee at a reasonable price
- Calista (10/5): -
- John (4/5): - It was a pretty rough motel room. Way, way overpriced!
- Connie (8/5): - It was limited, old and work, but clean and the owner was friendly.
- Clark Daggs (7/5): - Location was great. Facilities were good overall. Internet connection was poor, and needs improvement. I work from hotel rooms. I don't need gigabit on the road, but I need a little more than the minimum.
- Mark (5/5): - Squeaky floor.
- Eric (10/5): - Just a bit expensive compared to what I had just rented for alot less
- Dustin (8/5): - !
- Carol (6/5): - The room we got was in the back - not shown on website, but it was a plus to have microwave and fridge in the room. Basic room, but appreciated the ease of checking in/out with the manager.
The hardwood floor under the carpet in our first floor room of the 2 story back building was very loud when walking.
- Max Riese (9/5): Great value Motel as an Oasis in the middle of nowhere. - Late check-in was super easy and they even left some rugs to clean my bike and the invoice. The room had everything I needed for a decent price and I slept comfortably! There was no warm water, I realised the next day that one of the fuses was off, probably that was the problem. So not their fault but also no one to ask in the middle of the night so its really fine.
- Susan (6/5): We appreciated having a place to stay in the middle of nowhere. - Office staff were very kind. This place worked in a pinch. Old mattress, no headboard. Tile floor.
- Louis (8/5): Deceptively comfortable - The Hotel is in an industrial area and is not spectacular in appearance…. But the cottage rooms were newly redone and clean. The staff was nice and worked with us to find a room. Again, for the area the room was fine at the price point. How hotels used to be.
- Jayleen (10/5): -
- Silas (1/5): Don't go - Nothing never could get keys no one at the office Everything
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (8/5): - Good
- Björn (4/5): - No one at the front desk when arrival. Didn’twork to call the phonenumber. Lack of warm water, no working wifi.
- Tamara (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean with friendly staff.
- Perry (1/5): We will never stop there again - Isolated. Rundown. Poorly maintained
Unprofessional staff.
- Severin (8/5): - Not bad rhe door for thw bathoom doest latch
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (2/5): - We arrived no one was at the front desk even though the open sign was on and we could not get into our room I would like a full refund
- Uchoa (2/5): - Can’t to make the check in
- Jerry (10/5): - Quiet slept well. Heater/air worked good
- Daniel (10/5): Quick overnight - Great communication and great service!
- Laren (8/5): - This place is cute in its rustic country charm. It is obvious that the owners have put a lot of care in making this a place of comfort. This is a very small community geared for trucker's. We truly enjoyed our stay here.
- Michael (6/5): Stop here if too tired to drive on. - Very clean, great place to stop if too tired to drive on. Quite worn, with noisy heaters.
- Barbara (10/5): - Very happy with my stay. Thank you
- Oluwatobi (8/5): - It was a nice and quiet stay.
- Womack (1/5): Sucked - It was not worth what I paid no hot water room was shit Nothing
- David (2/5): - We tried to get in contact with the owners when the open sign was on. They hung up on us and the door was locked.
- Linda (4/5): - The room was relatively clean but the shower did not work and we did not discover until 11:30 PM and calling the people who run the place that late at night did not seem like a good option as we did not want to deal with them late at night. I asked for a discount since the shower did not work and seemed to have been out of commission for a while. No refund was offered.
- travis (4/5): - I was given a key to a room with someone still in the room with his luggage. That’s was uncomfortable at best. The tv didn’t work with the cable tv. No channels. If your going to charge $100 a night at least give the customer their money worth and not just treat people like cattle.
- Bj (7/5): Stayed while hunting the area - Location I had a second floor room and would have preferred a ground floor because of all our gear.
- Tammie (7/5): Good -
- JAne (6/5): - Inside, the room (cabin style) was okay (small). The area outside was not maintained well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The door dircectly to the outside had no functioning bolt. Tub cracked, cofee pot broken.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Superb - Comfortable. Clean.
The manager was very nice.
- Jeffrey (8/5): Very good - Clean. Comfortable.
- Sharla (1/5): No one answered door when arriving late! Had to move on! - Who knows because we didn’t get to stay! My husband and I booked a room as we were passing through. We arrived between 1-2am, within an hour or so of booking a room. There was an “open” light lit up in the window letting us know it was open. I rang the doorbell and waiting. Nothing. I opened the foyer door and entered to see there was not a light on in the office. There was a sign on the door saying to call a number or ring the doorbell. I called the number…twice…and no answer. So I rang the door bell a couple more times and there was again no answer. I again called and no answer the third time. And those multiple attempts at ringing the doorbell and multiple attempts calling with no answer, I gave up as it was very late and we were exhausted and didn’t know what else to do. I was afraid we would still be charged and it was a no refund booking. So I contacted booking the next day via chat. I heard back over a week later with an email stating: “The property informed us that they were able to accommodate you but you did not show up. Hence, they marked you as "No Show" in their system. For transparency, we wanted to communicate that any charges related to this reservation might have been made by the property, in accordance with your reservation policy.” Extremely frustrating because this is NOT TRUE! I went back through my bank transactions and it appears we were not charged, thankfully, which is the only good thing about the situation.
- David (2/5): - Dump
- Franklin (7/5): Good -
- Greg (7/5): New owner trying to provide a decent experience. - Location; only motel in the area. Motel is very old and run-down. New owner is trying hard to provide a decent experience, however she is somewhat overwhelmed.
- Hiram (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (4/5): Far overpriced - I’ll say that the hostess was very friendly. I realize that prices of hotels have gone up, and there’s not many choices in Wamsutter. However, for $100-125, the hotel should offer clean floors, and tidier grounds. Maybe at least a Continental breakfast.
Nonetheless, the rooms are often used for people in the oil fields or traveling truckers. But, I would not advise a family or casual traveler to stay at the hotel. Plan ahead to avoid it.
- Evguenia (2/5): Only option (dog friendly)in this area - Friendly stuff Dirty towels, dead bolt didn’t work.
- Veronica (6/5): - Easy Parking
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never would I recommend - "Hotel" is run down. There was no water to the room after 8am. None. Spider webs. Moths on floor. A gap in between the door and seal.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Find another place for $100! - Such a sad place! The good first - a decent TV, microwave popcorn, a granola bar and 2 waters. The rest - for $100 a night, this has got to be the poorest place I have ever stayed at. The room was clean but small and needing of updating. Everything was unplugged - odd. The cement parking lot and patio were in shambles. At least the AC worked.
- Janet (3/5): We checked in then went to the room. It was tight and kind of smelled bad. We did not stay and lost our money and foun - Great location, check in gal was sweet. Small rooms, did not smell good. Check in felt like walking into a back room in a pantry
- Terry (7/5): Good - It was very clean The water pressure and the water didn't stay hot very long.
- Wills (7/5): Good - Had to wait hour they wouldn't anfor someone to get back from an emergency We waited over an hour. they wouldn't answer the phone to tell us anything. The TV remote was dead. The room is run down. all the lampshades are cracked and filthy. The heater is really loud. most of the lamps didn't work.
- Hodges (9/5): Superb -
- Isabel (6/5): - Hot water ran out quickly.
- Brett (10/5): - Clean rooms
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lachlan (10/5): Exceptional -
- ming (4/5): Not clean - Not so good
- Richard (10/5): - Friendly and clean room
- Louise (10/5): - First floor room, free laundry (though guest has to provide own detergent)
- Robert (10/5): After some vehicle troubles on our way back to Colorado we were met with helpful staff that softened the blow. - Staff were extremely obliging and helpful.
- Anthony (8/5): - very nice, clean, and comfortable.
- DeWayne (2/5): - No good
- Gary (5/5): Passable - Not much They would not except Booking.com so I had to pay with my credit card again! Now I need to be reimbursed from Booking.com!
- Ashleen (4/5): - Sink leaked horrible. Room was in disrepair. Alarm clock was smashed. We had no soap.
- Sandra (8/5): - Comfortable room. Could use a little maintenance and / or replacement of damaged room items.
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diane (8/5): Very good -
- Devin (8/5): Good stay - Good place for the price. Staff was nice. Easy check in and out. Not far from the freeway. Would stay again if needed. They have water and pop corn for free in the room. Beds are in need of replacing.
Whenever you took a shower It flooded the bathroom, tub must leak.
- Randall (10/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Jamie (9/5): Superb -
- Kerrie (10/5): - We had to pull off I80 after a storm rolled in, thank god for the Sunset Inn off exit 173. Safe, warm, clean, great family run place, able to accommodate a lot of us forced off the highway late that night. If I ever find myself in Wamsutter again I would stay at the Sunset Inn.
- Melody (10/5): - We got the last two rooms and we’re grateful for that. The owner was very sweet and waited for us to arrive due to the road conditions.
- Guofang (4/5): Disappointing -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (7/5): Good -
- Janice (4/5): No Hot Water! - The stay was pleasant, no frills, until the morning when there was NO HOT WATER! The desk clerk contacted the manager who was NO HELP & gave us NO DISCOUNT.
- Jack (6/5): Can’t drive a lil further? - If you want to stop before the next 43 mile trek this is it. There are no restaurants at this exit beyond fast fried chicken at the gas station. The room is furnished in firesale worn out motel oversock with the laminates on dressers king missing . Any structural corner will show neglect and dirt.
This would all be fine because the manager is clearly trying hard - except it’s priced 50% above value. Drive on if you can, if not, know that this is your compromise.
- Jose (9/5): Superb -
- Janice (8/5): - Good value for the price. Amenities of bottled water, granola bar, and popcorn were pleasantly unexpected! 😁
- Valerie (1/5): Don't Stay Here - Nothing The room was dirty and we had to kill a cockroach in the bathroom. The gal at the desk wouldn't give us a refund nor even a discount. You'd be better off going the extra miles to a better hotel.
- Johnston (7/5): Creaky floor. No breakfast, but otherwise comfortable. - I really liked all the extras such as bottles of water, granola bar, and even a road map. Tv, microwave, refrigerator coffeemaker were all good. The room was clean. There was not a breakfast included, but this was offset by the hotel rate. The room had a musty odor which we remedied with the air conditioner. The room had a wood floor which creaked badly.
- Jian Yu (10/5): - Yes
- Michael (5/5): It was ok. - No breakfast. Out in the middle of no where with nothing open for dinner Location. Not having to drag everything up a flight of stairs
- Michelle (4/5): - The room smelled, there was paint around the tub, and they had bugs!
- Kimberly (8/5): Not a Holiday Inn Express - Cute, quaint, motel. Upon arrival we had to wait for the attendant to arrive after we called on the phone. There were two other arrivals before the attendant arrived. She was very pleasant and kind. The bed and pillows were not terrible but not a great night sleep. Breakfast was a couple of granola bars left in our room. It was clean yet had a musty smell. We kind of expected a little more but this place was cheaper. Reminds me of the line you get what you pay for.
- Michael (5/5): Clean and Squeaky. - Clean facility, nice to get two free bottles of water. Came for our late checkin. Floors were noisy, my only complaint.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): - Just the basics at a low price.....just what I wanted. The micro wave popcorn and granola bar were unexpected and very much appreciated
- Stan (8/5): - Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, the Inn itself was old, needs new mattress in the room I stayed in.
- Abbie (4/5): - No deadbolt on door!
Bedding was clean but bathroom wasn’t well cleaned.
- Barbara (10/5): - Friendly, clean, good price, no complaints
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They were very nice
They went the extra mile and showed my wife where is the room
Thank you
