The cabin was lovely, clean and comfortable. After a day at Marjorie kinnan Rawlings state park, this was definitely the place to end the day. So nostalgic. We loved it! Staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful too. Nothing to dislike at all! There are some beautiful nostalgic and historic signs about the outside area which are beginning to disintegrate. Would be amazing to see them slightly renovated to preserve them for the future. Not over the top but just some TLC.

- Debbie (10/5): - Most relaxing place my husband and I have been to. Great get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life! It exceeded my expectations and would highly recommend! Meet a few nice people! Had some great meals at the restaurant and just enjoyed sitting on the creek watching the wildlife. Eagles, osprey, baby gator, peacocks, and cranes. Best place to get away and relax. I am booking a cabin for our anniversary in November. The shower had low water pressure, it had no effect on our time there, we still had water to take a shower!!

We were very excited and, after almost 5 hours driving, we arrived at the property at around 6:08 pm. Our assigned cabin was #3. When we arrived, we discovered that it was ALREADY OCCUPIED. This is totally unacceptable, especially considering that the owners use a 4–digit pin for access, so supposedly the control of who enters and who doesn’t is completely their responsibility. Shocked to see the cabin already occupied, we called several times the contact number provided by Booking. We spoke with Robert and Cindy and, instead of offering us a professional solution, each new response and suggestion was more unacceptable than the previous one. At one point they even suggested that we go into the cabin anyway, take out the belongings of the people who were inside, and then we should stay there. That “solution” is not only absurd, but also disrespectful, unsafe, and totally irresponsible. They expected us to confront other guests and handle their belongings over a mistake that is 100% on the management. When we requested an immediate refund of our money, the answer was that they couldn’t do it at that moment and that we had to wait more than an hour for the reversal, even though they already had our money. We couldn’t go anywhere else because we had already paid and didn’t have extra budget. The result: we had to drive almost 5 hours back home, tired, with no accommodation, and with our vacation completely ruined. What happened could even be considered a scam: they do not respect confirmed reservations, they do not take responsibility, and on top of that they try to make the guest “solve” the chaos they themselves created. - moquinn (10/5): Great for a short Getaway! - I was pleasantly surprised at how cute and clean the cabin was, We stayed in cabin #4. the older furnishings and decor were quaint and made the room feel like a step back n time . We ate at The Yearling Restaurant on site the first night, My Husband LOVED the Catfish, Froglegs and Gator Tail. Our trip was to visit Micanopy, but also found so many things to do in CrossCreek . The Rawlings House was a great visit. We loved History and this did not disappoint . Discovered Payne's Prairie , It is a Must see, such beauty and don't miss one the oldest operating Post office The Wood and Swink in Evinston! Lots of History there and we got a nice conversation with the current postmaster and learned the history of the post office!!

- Kenneth (9/5): Cabins were quaint but clean and everything worked. Great value. - Rustic small cabins right on Cross Creek. Small, but comfortable and clean. TV worked well. AC took a few minutes to cool the room but it was a really hot day. Allowed our small dog. No directions for check in when we got there, but staff appeared right away and let us in.

Right on the Creek. Kayaked right from our front door. Staff is amazing and super friendly. A bit pricey for the location and accommodation. I always say this though in Florida.

I'd go more for a rustic look since they're in the country.

- Lisa (10/5): - The Yearling will always have a very special place in my heart. It is old Florida charm at its finest. The cabins are not 5-star accommodations, but rather exactly what you would expect to find located on Cross Creek between Lake Orange and Lake Lochloosa. They are clean, comfortable and offer an excellent view of the creek. The neighborhood peacocks call to each other while birds and other wildlife occasionally travel by. My husband and I have stayed three times so far and would love to go back more often.

Having the restaurant on the premises was a huge plus and excellent food as well. our goal was to experience Paynes Prairie State Park with the wild horses and roaming bison (which we did) but having the Park a short distance from our accommodations just tied it all together. I will return for another stay but will book for several nights. A 10 out of 10. N/A

Cabin great size…mostly a very good rental! Just needed a few additions to make ultra comfortable. Needed an “end table” by chair and both couch ends…and needed a footstool or two in living room to be really comfortable. There was nothing to set your “stuff” on in bathroom…nothing…had to use suitcase as table for toiletries and there was 3 of us…the thing that I was really upset about was there not a curtain on bathroom window..none..and the latch was broken…had to rig a towel over window for privacy. But…we had a good time and though cabin was pretty good..could be superior with a few additions…we were comfortable enough to be pleasant…oh..and each cabin needs their own outdoor chairs…not enough seating by water so needed chairs to bring from cabin…

It has the old Florida charm at its finest; I can't wait to return!

- Peggyann (9/5): Very peaceful stay - It was a very nice peaceful place. The bed was so high but it was soooooo comfortable and I slept like a baby. I need to know the name of the mattress. lol Everyone so friendly we met staying there. The Yearling restaurant was very good. We will be back.

- Reed (10/5): Amazing - Everything the old texture of the cabin the fishing and all the friendly people you meet and the restaurant food is amazing. Don't forget to ask for they collard greens you literally wood swear your granny cooked them the gator is awesome as well Not staying longer
- John (8/5): "What we have here is failure to communicate." - No one there to check us in. There were two cabins to choose from, and we picked one. After I texted her, she indicated that I would have to move into the other unit because someone else was coming for the first unit. I did so, and then the lock wouldn't work properly, so she indicated that I should move back into the original unit. No one else ever came, which was fine. A written note on each door would have prevented this entire fiasco.

- Michael (10/5): Great place for a relaxing weekend! - We go to The Yearling Resort every December as a getaway from the big city. The spacious and comfortable cabins are located on a river, great for sitting outdoors and relaxing by a fire on cool nights. The Yearling Restaurant is a real gem, with some amazing meals - try the Venison, it's delicious. The resort is close to the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings State Park, which is a beautiful place to visit. Highly recommended for a quiet, relaxing weekend. Nothing at all!

- Kim (10/5): - Husband and I come here to get away from the busy rat race,i work from home and the yearling is about a 20 minute drive.We have dinner at the restaurant they have the best food. I always get a steak and my husband gets something different each time we go. Afterward we sit by the creek and then to the cabin to eat popcorn and watch t.v.
- Deborah (10/5): Great time away - I would recommend these cabins for anyone wantimg to get a peaceful quiet getaway. Not fancy, and not too rustic. Comfy and cozy. The restaurant next door has good food and friendly service. Nice place!!

- Lindsay (9/5): Would absolutely stay again! - Loved that it is off the beaten path and has its own cozy property. Near cross creek and has a fire pit and chairs for a chilly evening. We liked everything about it. There wasn’t a hair blow dryer in the room but that wasn’t a big deal for me, maybe others would want to know though.
- William (10/5): Experience the backwoods of Florida - The hotel and restaurant are wonderful. The location is remote so cell phones have a hard time but the rooms have TVs and WiFi. The Restaurant is amazing lots of history the menu includes some great southern food, Free Range Venison with hunter sauce is one of my favs. The location is beside Cross Creek a location to sit and watch a sunset before going to the bar. Be sure to look in the library it is something lots of books, stuffed animals and a canoe. This is a piece of history.
- Andi (10/5): Charming cabins with all the amenities; super hosts. - We loved the quaint, clean, comfortable cabins. The owners are on property and very helpful. The restaurant was friendly and delicious for dinner. the mosquitos...but no one can help that!
- Andi (10/5): Perfect place for pups! - Easy access to the highways that lead to UF. Rooms are adorably decorated with antiques. Our pups loved it! nothing the property can do...we would've liked the roads to have sidewalks for walking our dogs.
- Robin (9/5): Superb - Everyone was so nice. When it rained you did not have TV. reception. our cell phone would not work in the cabin.
