Shambolic !!!
- philip (6/5): - We stopped at the dolphin hotel it was nice and quiet the bedroom was large and clean and we couldn't knock the location if we ever went back to great Yarmouth we would stay again We booked the villa rose only to be told they were having work done at their hotel. They then told us we were going to the dolphin hotel only to get a call back saying we were going to be staying at the Carlton hotel as an upgrade but when we got to the carlton hotel we were told we were staying at the dolphin hotel .
- Ewa (1/5): -
- Denise (2/5): - Didn't get to go into hotel as closed down. Custom house said company dissolved 2023
- Lynne (1/5): Avoid Avoid Avoid - Do not book here ! They take your booking, they take your money AND THEY RE NOT EVEN OPEN !!!! I got an email to say entry detailsbwill be sent as self check in to then get an email saying they are closed for renovation. I WANT MY MONEY BACK IMMEDIATELY Taking bookings and people's money when they know they are closed !!!!
- Rush (1/5): Absolutely awful. - I am completed disappointed in this stay. Now can not get any contact for a refund. Couldn’t even access it.
- Mark (1/5): Not happy! - Nothing, location was ok but that's it , sorry. I looked at the reviews, so on Thurs l took a look for myself and was shocked. It certainly didn't look like a running guest house and as my young grandchildren start it looked like a haunted house and they were terrified to go in. I did call the customer service helpline to explain and they said there's nothing you all could do about it, l was absolute shocked. The whole issue completely messed up the end of my holiday, l am totally unsatisfied.
- Martin (2/5): - What I didn't like was u changed us to the dolphin hotel.
Which was the worst hotel I ever stayed in no person at reception had to go to another hotel to get the entry pass to get in which broke on our third day, No bar No service . The hotel itself was falling apart the rooms were crap (if u want photos I can send). Glass doors and windows smashed. I could keep going but what's the point I'm getting more annoyed the more I keep thinking about it.
- Philip (2/5): - Hotel was closed when we got to it my friend was crying so we had to stay somewhere and we won't go near it again very poor from the outside very disappointed with everything
- Sharp (1/5): Crap - I booked on booking .com and when I arrived we called the number and after 2 hours still no key number to get and and no refund either Nothing
- Ben (1/5): No stay - I am still waiting for my refund as we didn’t get to stay in this hovel of a hotel. Police will be noted again and I will post this on every media forum I can. Booking.com couldn’t be more than less helpful As above
- Bernard (1/5): Was no stay it'd closed a building site does not exist - The place was closed had to sleep on the street the place is closed the phone number does not exist its a building site took my money and others on the street also place needs reporting to police and booking. Com want my money back as I got nothing in return
- Lobb (1/5): Bad - I didn't stay here as OYO cancelled our stay.
I am still waiting for a FULL REFUND And have been requesting this for 1 months now, with no joy. I will NOT be booking with OYO ever again
- Cttnflfff (1/5): Bad -
- Levi (2/5): - It was closed.. locked up..tel number on the property was disconnected..was told its been empty for some time..THIS IS A RIP OFF..
- Pilkington (3/5): Poor - Checking out I've been asked to leave a review but I didn't actually stay this hotel, I booked it and about ten minutes later I had a missed call while at work, attempted to listen to the voicemail but it was a pretty poor quality message but I managed to make out "villa rose room you have booked isn't available as the property is being renovated we have moved your booking to....." Couldn't make out the hotel name, no email to confirm the new hotel, directions nothing. Called the number back and they took forever to even find my booking and when requested they send me the hotel details via email i was told they couldn't send me a confirmation, told the person on the call that I will need the information in writing so I have it to refer to when travelling. I did receive an email in the end. And then to the hotel we were moved to, for the money I paid was not expecting much, never do when booking cheap but took a bath after a day of travelling and then went out, we were in the arcades for 3 hours and when we got back there was still an inch of the bath water draining through, shower the following morning turned into a bath for my feet. Awful drainage and our room was the first in the corridor and the door that opens to go down that hallway just slams constantly. But like I said that's not this hotel because I booked here but got put there so this one may actually be better
- Khurram (2/5): - Unable to get into the property. The hotel closed down a while ago but continues to fleece money from unsuspecting customers
- stuart (2/5): Warning go elsewhere - Payed for my 2 night stay , I turned up with my booking on my phone , only to find out I can't check in , because I don't have a code for self check in . I ring the number I had from booking 30 minutes later still not checked in so I had to find another hotel for the night . It's now a week later no apology and I'm still waiting for my money back .
- Ben (1/5): Horrendous - Paid for the accommodation up front for two night and couldn’t even access the property had to pay for additional accommodation and am still waiting a refund Not having a roof over our heads
- Emma (1/5): Didn’t stay , was moved to a different hotel . Never had a reason for why we was moved ??? - We never got to stay here We were contacted by the company saying they had to change our hotel ?
We stayed across the road in the little Emily and see it’s being used as a hostel ?? As all sorts were coming and going from there
- Steph (2/5): - Left me waiting from 9.30pm till 1am
- Donna (1/5): Don't stay here ever - Nothing Never stayed at the villa rose as it was closed was transferred to a derelict hostel building with no staff and had to pick hotel key up from a different hotel worst stay and experience of. My life in a hotel stay and staff were no were ro be seen and customer service was not helpful at all
- Diane (1/5): Bad - nothing was unable to get in the property, looked a mess outside weeds and fag buts... code didnt work for door... after one hour of trying to call a number that was valid we were then told we had been moved to another hotel due to renovations and they had been trying to reach me to advise. absolute lies, no call no text no email. The other hotel was ok but at the other end of the main strip that we wanted, no apology no discount no anything
- Mrs (1/5): DO NOT BOOK, UNFIT FOR PURPOSE - Nothing. This property changed the place i stayed, so I went to the hotel (the dolphin)that you changed me to, and the hotel was unafe at best and honestly unfit for purose. I walked into the reception and was greeted by what I could only describe as a storage room with old mattresses, pillows, bedding etc,I will attach pictures. I went through a door and was met by the next door with broken glass, I proceeded up the stairs to what I can only describe as a mess. Although the bed was clean, nothing else was there was a lock on the connecting door that didn't work. The curtains were not on properly. The tiles in the bathroom were unsafe. The window in the bathroom didn't lock, so anyone could get in at any time. Also, the fire doors were open , and the sliding doors at the back were open. The stairway was dirty. I really do not know how anyone would stay in the property. I spoke to a lady on the phone and she said there was nothing she could do. I want a refund.
- DIOGO (2/5): Unable to get entry. Very poor liaison - Could not get into the hotel.
Contacted OYO as it was the contact on email, but they could not find my booking.
Ended up finding another hotel nearby, thanks to the kindly help of another hotel owner. Beware.
- Gunn (1/5): Bad - The hotel was closed for construction once we arrived
- Ben (1/5): DO NOT BOOK - PROPERTY IS SHUT PROPERTY IS SHUT
- James (1/5): Do not book - We did not use the hotel as soon as booked we were told it was under maintenance and we would be put in the dolphin hotel nearby. We had to go to the Carleton to get the key..so this is 3 hotels involved in one booking. The hotel given had no staff no reception.rubbish outside and was not suitable for my husband and our baby daughter Everything! We wanta refund as we did not use the room at the derelict hotel
- And3 (1/5): not good - nothing everything
- Selvina (1/5): Bad - Once booking and paying for our stay I waited until the day before and still didn’t receive any information in regards to the self check in service. I had to chase the hotel. After being put through to 3 different people and being on hold for a very long time I was told that my room wasn’t actually available and that they couldn’t obligate my booking. It was “under maintenance”. They then booked me another room at their sister hotel with very little information. The frustration was that nobody had tried to get in touch or let me know any of this. I had to chase them myself and even then nobody could give me any answers. The call centre was in another country so very hard to understand anything that was said given the language barrier. Upon arrival to the new hotel we couldn’t access the building because it was again a self check in service with no reception desk even though we were told otherwise and that there would be somebody there to meet and greet us and show us to our room. Luckily another guest happened to be exiting the building at the same time and let us in otherwise I would have been standing outside with two small toddlers with no entry. The hotel was empty. We managed to find the maintenance guy who told us that the hotel had no hot water and wasn’t fit to keep two children there. He then made some calls and made a booking for another hotel for us down the road. The whole experience with this hotel chain from start to finish was awful. Everything about it was horrific. The customer service, the organisation. Nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on or why there was work being done. Both hotels were horrible, dirty and run down and barely functioning. Nobody was available to speak to. I got passed from post to pillar. I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. It should be shut down!
- Rita (1/5): Bad - It's been cancelled, then arrived to hotel Nothing
- Julie (1/5): Don't book this property. Unihabitable. Poor service. Unhelpful and decieving. Still took money and - Nothing The property is unihabitable and it was totally unacceptable to accept a booking for this property.
We were let down as I only booked it the night before, so the fact that it was in such a state was already known.
I expect a full refund and compensation for the inconvenience and upset.
- Neil (1/5): I didn't stay!!! - I didn't stay there, they told me it was closed!!!!!!! Nothing
- Richard (6/5): Customer service was very poor apart from Noor! - Waste of my time submitting a review you so r post? Hotels.com? A waste of time.Turned up at our hotel and the entry code didn’t work. Because someone had changed the lock. Rang the number given on the email and spoke to a very unhelpful man who said he couldn’t do anything for me unless I had an eight figure code which I had to get from Hotel.com. I tried searching the emails while he was on the line but had no 4G coverage so couldn’t open the attachments. Rang the given number again twice and both times got hung up on. By this time we were starting to wonder if we’d been scammed. My wife then rang and spoke to Noor who was brilliant. He said they’d tried to contact us (not sure how true that was) but we were not going to be staying at Villa Rose because of some technical issues at the hotel but would now be at The Carlton. This wasn’t ideal as we’d booked the Villa Rose to be near the Wetherspoons pub and the new hotel was a twenty minute walk away. However, The Carlton gave us two twin rooms and it was an okay hotel.
- Olesya (1/5): Very poor - Not answered the phone to open the door do we didn’t receive the service and had to pay more money for another hotel. Poor
- Vicky (4/5): Disappointing - You nead to sort out some kind of refund beciuse I had to take all my calubls with me every time I left the room becouse the door did not lock we did tell the place but becouse thay was fully booked thay could not move use to nother room and this was nit the hotel we actually booked it's down to you to refund not the hotel we stayed in becouse we payed for your hotel
- Mario (8/5): Good - Need renovations Need renovations for carpet walls
- Kayleigh (3/5): Horrible - It had blood stains on the carpet, damp patches on the ceiling, wasn't very clean and smelt like smoke! Also I was stopped by a rude member of staff accusing me of running away with the key when still had one night left
- White (1/5): Couldn't get in a young man said the hotel bookings are sending people there but is not running has - Didn't have breakfast we couldn't get in to the hotel it was close or so a young man said so had to book fir another hotel 🤬 Haven't a clue because couldn't get in 🤬
- Olusola (1/5): Bad - no one at the property. After saying in the cold for 1 hour, they picked up their phone and relocated us to another hotel. they did not tell us beforehand the hotel was not ready or available.
- Korrina (1/5): Horrible - What breakfast Everything I've sent booking.com an email complaining about the whole situation
- Imogen (1/5): 💩 - Nothing Paid for hotel and turned up on the day, there was a note in vila rose telling us to call a number.
They had lived us to a hostel and not told us
Was gross
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordan (1/5): Bad - Didn’t like anything about the hotel due to not staying there I didn’t like the hotel due to not staying there was put in a different hotel that was not suitable for me and my family we had a family room and a single room one on each side of the hotel the beds were uncomfortable I would like a refund because I will not be staying there again and I didn’t manage to get any sleep and I was driving for 2 and half hours
- James (1/5): Didn’t happen - Nothing We could not get in the front door to check Iin
- Tracey (1/5): Bad - nothing the hotel was shut and were not told sent to snouther hotel up the other end of great yarmouth where we did not want to be
- Kevin (7/5): It was all we need for our stay. - Never had breakfast at the hotel. The bed ,mattress was so springy
- David (1/5): Bad -
- Debbie (5/5): Royal Hotel..... Potential to be really good - Disclaimer-We were relocated to the Royal due to urgent maintenance at Villa Rose.
The shower has good pressure
The beds were nice and firm, with good pillows
The rooms were big
With a bit of work it has potential to be lovely. It's a really interesting building *Disclaimer-We were relocated to the Royal*
Lots of the furniture was very old and in need of repair. Handles missing, scratched, dirty inside.
The toilet kept running if you used long flush (I could easily sort it but it happened every time)
The shower door was off it's runner so I could only use one door.
We had two rooms, a twin and a family. The family room had fully stocked tea and coffee. The twin has a kettle and cups but no actual tea/coffee/milk.
You couldn't have the windows open as there was a horrendous drain and cigarette smoke smell
Dog hair matted into the carpet.
I probably should have reported but we were only here one night and didn't notice some stuff until 9pm
- Jason (9/5): Would stay again - Comfortable Friendly staff Nothing
- Matthew (1/5): Bad - It was terrible, nothing too like! It was like a squat. The photos are not of the Villa Rose. Customer service didn't exit. No tv. Tea and coffee facilities, yet no milk or spoon. I'm going to report them to trading standards. The council should also be informed. This place was completely disgusting and run down. I'd rather have slept in a dirty urine filled alleyway than stay there. It took several hours to get in the building, then we wished we hadn't!
- Ilma (1/5): It stunk. - It smelled like someone had smoking recently
I got bites on my legs and arms when I woke up I do not recommend it was not nice
- Hannah (2/5): - Place was booked, when I arrived I had to call to get an access code only to be told that hotel was under renovation! I’d been moved to another hotel told that the booking was the same and that it was a family room for the same price! When I got to the other hotel it wasn’t the most pleasant place hotel Staff were nice enough and helpful but was mostly disappointed they’d booked us 2 rooms rather than a family room we were away for my sons 1st birthday and the family had been spilt! Not happy
- Kevan (1/5): Wish I had read reviews first - Not much Couldn't wash, brush teeth or shower because sink nor bath would empty water without waiting 8 hours. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up making toilet difficult for both myself and my son. Tap on bath wouldn't turn off at all so was constantly running, there was a shower head attached to the bath taps but no obviousway to switch the water flow from taps to shower. On arrival reception area was an absolute mess with unopened mail all over the desk
- Michelle (9/5): Excellent nights sleep on comfy beds ready for the day ahead - It was really clean, lovely sized room and the staff on reception were very welcoming and friendly We weren’t told where to leave the keys on check out
- Stuart (5/5): OK - Great location
Helpful Staff Dolphin Hotel
* Bed wobbly especially the headboard
* Top window needs to be replaced doesn’t shut properly
* Lots of noise coming from outside During Early Hours (Not Guests)
But otherwise I would like to stay again
- Greenwood (1/5): Terrible - Our booking was cancelled and we was sent to the dolphin hotel
With two children a family of 4 and put in to two different rooms both unacceptable with broken bed and broken doors that have clearly been kicked open at some point. Follow was so dirty that even walking with socks made our socks dirty. Everything
- Demie (1/5): Bad -
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (1/5): The hotel that never was - Nothing Everything never see the hotel I drove 125 miles to yarmouth to find out the hotel was being refurbished and they had re booked me in another hotel the other end of the strip I struggle with walking so was not where I needed to be and can't belive they didn't tell me this before I left home as I would not of gone if i new that
- Aleksandra (6/5): - We were relocated to the other hotel- the Dolfin hotel. We were very tired and we had to walk there about 20 minutes. There was two men sitting in the garden staring at our window. It was creepy. I think they work there because they where at hotel every night. Reception and cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean.
- Stephen (10/5): comfortable, looked after - I was actually relocated to the Dolphin Hotel dur to renovation, The Dolphin more than met expectations, tthe room being comfortable, clean and well appointed, good value for money and a very friendly and helpful staff, I would certainly stay ay this hotel again nothing!
- Checornac (1/5): Bad - Nothing Absolutely horrendous, when we arrived we couldnot get in to hotel, alot of phoning up , code didnot work for enrery door, when we finally gained access our room was extremely dirty, dirty bedding still on bed. We then found out that we should not be at that hotel as it was closed. The start of the family weekend away had now just got much worse.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Little disappointed. - Stayed in the Fjaerland hotel as villa rose was closed for maintenance. The bathroom. Toilet roll holder was broken, bathroom door didn't shut properly. Bed was only thing good about the stay. No staff around but was easy to get into room. I think hotel needs a revamp and staff around.
- John (6/5): Average - No facilities for food Restaurant
- Daniel (2/5): - Was not happy that we was moved 2 a different hotel n then when we got there they had no food or drink options n the wifi was very poor even tho i ask for wifi n plus my room was not clean after the first even tho i ask for it 2 be done very poor service n will not being staying there again
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Me (1/5): I WANT MY MONEY BACK - Absolutely awful 😖 I want my money back It should be took off BOOKING. COM
unfortunately until further notice !!!
- Kelly (1/5): Bad - Nothing, we couldn't even get into the hotel. We have messaged and spoke to oyo who contacted villa Rose. They've said we are getting a refund from booking.com. is this going to happen? Nothing
- Martyn (3/5): Poor - Reception staff very helpful Villa Rose was closed. Confusing information before arrival as we were relocated to The Dolphin Hotel.
Bathroom very small almost impossible to use.
Window would not close so no security.
Shower did not work. All reported but no action
- Rosen (4/5): Disappointing - Loved it that we was kept up all night by trunk people fighting and shouting outside the hotel...the police running up and down and constant arguments...kept us well entertained...only we got no sleep To many drunk people , shouting, fighting , screaming ,
- Petru (4/5): Disappointing -
- Susan (7/5): Good - Close to everything n/a
- Samantha (8/5): 6 out of 10 - The room was very victoriana times
New lock on the door lol. The shower leaked. U couldn't find any staff or work the tv
Samantha hughes
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad -
- Linas (7/5): Good -
- Susan (7/5): Good - Location. Helpfully staff No reception
- Helen (5/5): A one night stay in a basic en suite room - This was a room only stay
There was an en suite bathroom
There was a kettle
Bed was comfortable The ceiling needed work
The room had too much furniture
Not quite clean
The tray for the kettle was dirty
- Gary (1/5): Bad -
- Nicola (9/5): Superb - The room was clean and the carpet was new. Tea and coffee provided. The En suit bathroom was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was all a bit shabby, but I didn't mind that.
- Daniel (1/5): Like the parking .but the room needs painting it was disgusting - No breakfast The room was damp and smelly and dirty .it was the dirtys room i ever stayed in.
- Cameron (1/5): awful, would never stay here again and the property is genuinely unsafe. - nothing.... never stop here they charged us twice for a room that had condemned electrics with failed stickers, live wiring exposed, feaces in the bed and on the pillow and holes in the floor and walls the whole experience nobody could help as nobody was on site, the room was inhabitable and the building appears run down and unoccupied for years.
- Daniel (1/5): Bad -
- Chantel (1/5): DID NOT STAY ! - Nothing Didn’t stay as it felt unsafe, dark stairwells, no staff at all to help.
- Jeffrey (1/5): Bad - Not a lot Most of it,
- Isaac (2/5): Very poor -
- Garry (7/5): Good - The room wasn't brilliant No parking, room poor
- Clare (5/5): Hotel wasnt good but comfortable night - Diry shower curtain
Broken window
Cracked glass in window
No breakfast service at all
Diry radiator
Just very unsatisfied.
- Howell (1/5): painful - cud not get in rooms rang them for new cods serval time to no joy, at to pay and stop some wear ells
- GARY (6/5): - I actually like the accommodation, however the bunk bed frame has never been cleaned (I went over this with anti-bacterial wipes) the shower is not in good working order as it doesn’t drain quick enough and you have scum that comes up from the plug so we didn’t use that. My only other complaint is the lack of reception of staff there means that you are reliant on checking in yourself online (which we did) but we then had to faff about to obtain the codes to get in which is such a headache when ur travelling with toddlers
- Troy (4/5): Disappointing -
- Charmaine (5/5): Passable - yes Yes
- Uatjitivi (1/5): Bad -
- George (10/5): - Once I got used to getting my self in every thing went well
- Susan (2/5): - The room was filthy
- Bungle (7/5): Acceptable accomodation although a little expensive - No breakfast. Villa Rose in August is very hard to park nearby. I ended up with a parking ticket. For the money it was what i expected. Only problem was a lady from abroad ringing me at 10.45 pm asking me to clarify my arrival time waking me up.
