- Francisco Javier (6/5): Baja relación calidad-precio, falta de limpieza - La zona está bien, el camino hacia el centro es agradable y pasan varias líneas de autobús por delante del alojamiento. Tiene cerca comercios y restaurantes. El personal fue bastante agradable. Faltaba bastante limpieza en general. La relación calidad-precio me pareció bastante baja, sobre todo habiendo estado en otros alojamientos de la zona con mejor calidad y precio contenido. Estuvimos solo una noche y no hicimos uso restaurante, desayuno… no lo puedo valorar.

Starting from now on, I’ll only choose brand hotels rat - The design seems to be good although not necessarily the function/facility. Staff are generally friendly. The room facilities were outdated and the room was extremely hot (could not believe the heater was on even though it was 22 degrees that day!). The shower was severely blocked, making it difficult for me to take the shower.

A good breakfast for additional cost. The price to park at 15 GBP per night was a bit steep. Not really enough space to access my suitcase easily.

- Emilie (9/5): Un bel hôtel, original, où il fait bon venir ! - Un hôtel où il fait si bon être ! Une atmosphère, une décoration de goût, l’accueil est super. Au nord d’Oxford mais juste devant l’arrêt de bus et donc à 10min en bus du centre. Bon petit dej. J’y reviendrai avec plaisir ! La literie (chambre simple) peut sans doute être un peu meilleure.

- Ken (4/5): Old hotel, a lot of noise, no sleep - It was big enough for 1 person. Had all you needed facility wise, as a man. Noise. The old house creaks and groans. I was in room 210 and I could hear my neighbor scratching his balls. If I have to spell it out, you basically cannot move or someone in the other room could hear you. The house rules say that between 10PM and 8AM you needed to be silent. But on the other hand they give you the password for the front door for when you see fit to leave the premise after hours. "For if your drunk and need to get back in." Needless to say, people used the password and I woke up at 10h30 PM, 1AM and around 3AM. I'm not resentful of these people for just moving around and exercising their basic freedom. I am resentful of the reviews on this app not highlighting this issue. This place doesn't deserve the average rating it got. You book a hotel room so you can sleep safely when you're tired away from home. The rest of what they offer is extra. The onus is on the personnel to safeguard that basic need. They fail at that, so you cannot give them a grade above 5/10 which I would consider a passing grade. Would only stay here if there was no one else staying in the hotel or the house rules were actually enforced.

- Ellie (5/5): Lovely area and quirky hotel but sadly an uncomfortable stay. - The area is beautiful- leafy and safe. The hotel‘s reception area is also beautiful. The room was quirky and colourful which I enjoyed (better than a bog standard neutral hotel room!). It was also clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. You can hear absolutely everything from the room above. Installing carpets rather than hard flooring would help this. I was woken up very early by the room above - I could hear them loudly walking around, showering and even sneezing from 6am onwards. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable sadly, I feel as though it was quite old and needed replacing. The bed also had no plug beside it meaning my phone and laptop had to be charged across the room but also the ‘bedside’ lamp was across the room. The coffee mug in the room was tiny so had to have two cups of coffee to make one regular sized in the morning. I didn’t pay extra for breakfast, £12 seemed steep when there’s a Gail’s bakery around the corner!

Rooms were ok but missing some basics like for example closets or somewhere to put your clothes on, no hangers for towels in the bathroom. Cleaning services could be better inside the room but also in the common areas.

- Alessandro (10/5): Very polite staff - I rented for my son and nephew and, sadly, they behaved not entirely in an appropriate manner (where very noisy by their own admission). The staff warned them several times very politely and when I spoke to the staff the day after the hotel staff felt obliged to apologize for having warned my son and nephew. As (the parent of) a guest who misbehaved I can only commend the hotel and their staff for having treated us way better than we deserved. Great hotel, my usual stay in Oxford

- Ezgi (6/5): Lovely quiet location but rooms could use some maintenance - The hotel is located in a very quiet and peaceful area, which we really liked. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the city centre, and there is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel with buses going into town, which was very convenient. The hotel also offers parking for £15 per night, which was a nice option. The entrance and lobby area have a really lovely atmosphere and give a nice vintage, characterful first impression. However, this feeling didn’t really continue in the room we stayed in. In the photos online, the rooms looked more nostalgic with paintings and vintage decor, but our room felt quite modern and a bit plain in comparison. There were also some scratched and marked areas on the walls, which made the room feel a little poorly maintained. Overall, the cleanliness and the room itself were average. The location and quiet surroundings are definitely positives, but the rooms could benefit from a bit more maintenance and better consistency with the photos shown online.
