Barbra (6/5): - Great location if you don’t need to go to the boardwalk. Beds and pillows were fine. Pool was nice, not crowded. Sitting area/deck over cars was good for relaxing (unless it was overtaken by one large group of guests). Across from a park, which was nice. There were activities every day and night, exercise classes, bands, food truck night, fire prevention night, SO if you want any sort of quiet time, this is not the place for you. Otherwise, it was quite entertaining and family friendly. Internet was awful. Minimal cell signal. Couldn’t sign in with the password. **We were charged 4% credit card fee even though I used a debit card. Staff said the machine does it automatically and they can’t change it. Other guests blocked walkways often. Other guests hung clothing all over their chairs/tables outside their rooms, and all around the pool fencing… looked like white trash back yard. People smoking right near exits and smoke filled the area under the garage. Had to walk through dumpster water and sludge to leave the hotel to go to the beach. Parking was insanely tight. Spaces are way too small. For the amount of money we spent for 4 nights, I could have gone to Florida. To do: Don’t overcharge for use of debit cards. Don’t allow guests to hang crap everywhere… maybe put hooks or clothes lines/racks in the rooms. Don’t allow people to block walkways. Don’t let people smoke near the building. Have the cleaning staff straighten up rooms during the stay and refill items.

I feel like it would be difficult to stay there more than a few days. We ended up buying mugs on the boardwalk for coffee.

Ciobuca (9/5): Great stay overall! - Great staff, good location close to beach, great with ocean view, quiet being a good distance from noisy boardwalk, great position of the pool with long sun exposure, close to Centennial Park where concerts and food trucks make a weekly presence. A few blocks from bike rentals, etc. Some guests families play loud ethnic music over the one already playing by the resort at a decent volume & have no curfew for their children letting them play loud till late hours of the night (3-4 AM), but that is not something that the hotel is responsible...

Some larger groups of guests felt it was ok to use all the grills at once time and take over all of the sitting areas leaving nowhere for the rest of the guests to sit!! Also these same large groups had no courtesy for the rest of the guests when it came to noise and partying til very early hours of the morning. There's such a thing as courtesy to other hotel guests!!

Diana (7/5): The motel is simple, not new, but clean - The motel is not on the first line, but between it and the ocean there is a park, open space. there is a terrace with tables. Nice view of the ocean in the distance. Nice pool. We paid $800 for the room for two nights. In addition to this amount, the unfriendly man at the front desk wanted $5 for a second room key. He insisted on cash and wanted it immediately. I didn't have any cash with me. He refused to negotiate, so we didn't get the second key. It was not a very pleasant greeting from the staff.

Mitchell (10/5): - Great rooms with lots of beds and space! Many activities and amenities. Close to the beach and within convenient walking distance of the boardwalk. Friendly service. Managers aren't always around and available to assist. Stairways and outdoor walkways might be hard to access for somebody who is disabled or who has trouble getting around.
Hanson (5/5): This room would be excellent for staying at the beach for several days, but we had it only one night - There was a nice but SMALL bathroom; beds were comfortable; reasonable price. The office was not open when we arrived (9:30 - 10 pm). The information in the ad said it would be open until 10:30; we had to call the phone number on the ad (luckily we had copied it down). The AC / heat pump in the bedroom was noisy and went on/off every few minutes. There was a coffee pot but no coffee, no cups, no glasses . There was no lighted clock in the bedroom .

The only thing we didn't like was our beds were not comfortable. That will not cause us to stop coming there.

Chandler (6/5): - I love coming to wildwood its a memorable place for me. I decided to try the Gold Crest. At first the front desk lady questioned me about my car and service dog as I walked in. I told her I tried to email them about my dog but no reply. At first I was on the 3rd floor and than after settling everything up in my room a Knock on the door from a man telling me that I have to move because of my dog. For an extra $30 per night. I had to move everything to another room and it was such a hassle to my trip. Overall it's very family friendly and close to the beach. There was a loud concert going on across at the park and the police closed down the street. It was a hassle coming back to park again. Other than that people were nice and kept to themselves. Everything was close from breakfast spots to bike rentals to places to walk my dog. I don't think Id stay here again, I felt like it was a bit up tight. Would deff stay some where more welcoming. The rooms AC is a bit weird too. One room you would get super cold and in the living room its super hot. Water in the shower was nice. Bathroom also had spiders.

I don't think that buying sufficient forks, knife and spoon is a big thing. Even the pans are so small that you can't cook anything in it. The BBQ outside is almost working, either the heat does work enough or one of the burners is not working. The pool is not heated which is very sad because the machine is there. Overall it’s an OK hotel but when you pay 3000$US for a family of 4 and you get an average place, feels like Mexico is a better choice for next time. And for that amount can you at least ask your front desk staff to smile or be at minimum nice with us. Felt like we were bothering them more than anything.

The rooms have carpet and our toddlers feet were black....we all had to keep our shoes on at all times. No hotels should have carpets unless they are cleaning them in between each guest. Also our room had no toaster or strainer and the toilet was rocking and not connected to the floor. The Wifi was horrible and the TV was going in and out of service The table was very rocky and unlevel and one of the chair backs were broken. I always loved staying here but something has changed, not sure what.

Marie Andree (6/5): - Points négatifs: Je ne n’ai pas eu la vue sur la mer tel qu’indiquait ma réservation. Climatiseur bruyant et créait de l’humidité dans la chambre. Peu d’accessoires de cuisine inclus dans la cuisinette. Avantages: Accès au parc et à la plage. Environnement extérieur propre(piscine, bbq, tables) Personnel courtois.

Shannon (10/5): Adorable little beach gem - We LOVED Sandy, the woman who took care of our room. Such a sweetie and very hard worker! Our room was spotless! We also like that there are 2 rooms b/c my husband and I don't have to argue over the AC LOL There could have been additional parking, but all the places are like that so it's not really their fault.
Patrick (2/5): - I do not write reviews ever. This is the first time. But after putting out a $1100.00 for a three-night stay, I had to speak up. It may seam like a reasonable price, But I expect some comforts. The air conditioning was broken. Our room was at a constant 90 – 100 degrees for the entire stay. To sleep at night, we needed to prop open the door and sleep with one eye open. When I mentioned this at check out, I was told that they would have installed a new unit.???????? I WOULD THINK THIS WOULD BE PART OF THE PREPERATION OF THE ROOM BEFORE GUEST ARRIVE. Well then there is the issue of the broken light fixture in the bathroom. This light would go off and on randomly. I would guess it was a bad bulb, but it would come back on if the fixture was shaken. I second guess was that it was a loose wire. That is just what you want when you are soaking wet or brushing your teeth! The reviews state that the rooms are clean. Well, my feet were sticking to the carpet the minute I stepped into the room. My stomach is turning to say the least. I am soooo happy to get out of the nightmare and be home. Really Bad!!!!!!! Very un-safe safe and dirty!!!!!!!
Marie (10/5): Girls Weekend - Awesomely clean and convenient motel. Myself and 2 friends went for the weekend. I will definitely stay here again. Room clean, beach right across the street, free concert in the bandstand which we could see and hear from our sundeck. Clean pool, mini golf and ping pong table, all free and at the motel. Grills and tables free to use. Joanne at the front desk was great. 10 out of 10
Nancy (10/5): - Second year at Gold Crest for a week at the shore. This is a family friendly & relaxing place. The mini golf & table tennis are great when the kids aren't in the pool.The location is perfect! Directly across from centennial park where they have fun festivals & free concerts to enjoy during the evenings. Behind the park is the beach only a half block walk. The facilities & rooms are what you'd expect from a typical shore motel... dated & somewhat small in the rooms. A few minor upgrades would go a long way cosmetically. But if you're like my family, we only stayed in the room to sleep and were off adventuring at Water parks, the beach, amusement rides & boardwalk shopping only a 5 min drive. Walking distance to bike rentals and several playgrounds even a baseball field, tennis courts & basketball courts are just a few blocks away. The staff is awesome. Very friendly & attentive. If you're one who stays in the room more than venturing out then know that it is a standard motel with extra firm mattresses that may be a negative but they do have basic cable tv. Wifi was spotty so bring a hot spot if that's a deal breaker. Overall it's always a great week spent for family vacation.

Amy (10/5): Family Get-away - We love staying at the Gold Crest Motel and look forward to our family vacation each year. Great location - close to the Boardwalk and Centennial Park. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Billee (10/5): Great Location - Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, the room was clean and comfortable. The patio is also nice, you can watch the summer concerts at Centennial Park from the patio. Great ocean and beach views from most of the room balconies and the patio also has a great view. There is a big outdoor pool, they also have a cute mini golf course, a ping pong table and outdoor grills. It's a very short walk to the beach, the boardwalk was about a 10 to 15 minute walk. There is parking on premises for 1 car per room. Great place to stay!
John (6/5): Our stay was pleasant and the staff were nice. Location was a big plus. Basic and no frills. - Good location. Near small park and bike trail. Not far from beach. Could enjoy outdoor concert from the balcony. Nice pool. Grills, ping pong table, mini golf. No elevator. Small bathroom with no place to put anything on the sink. No hair dryer. Air conditioner in main bedroom, but just a ceiling fan in the adjoining room with bed. Coffee pot needed filters and no coffee packs given for room. Microwave on top of refrigerator. Shorter people could not reach it.

Lori (10/5): Wahoo for the Gold Crest! - Had a great 1 night stay. Got in our rooms earlier then expected. Clean comfortable rooms! Had a warm and large pool! Close to the beach. Friendly staff!
Christin (5/5): The Beachel family stay - The sing In the office says it all. " Come as strangers leave as friends". That couldn't be more right. The owners and staff treated you like friends. The beds were springy. The ac in the rooms don't keep the room cool at all only the back room. The rooms were a lil out dated. The coffee pots were gross. They need to clean them better. When I asked for more towels and wash cloths I never received them. Parking was an issue bc guests park their cars crooked and even cars with out a pass parked in our spots. And they need more designated smoking areas. So parents can see their children. Also they need to double check the pots and pans. Some guests must not clean them very well.
