What was excellent...the staff, the lobby, location, parking..the room, the views..the elevators (yes, the elevators), the restaurant on ground floor (fabulous dinner), the rooftop bar (excellent space, drinks, staff and is popular which is good as you want to drink with others) - even the morning coffee was good. Oh, and easy access to State Street. There was no negative for us. In a heart beat I'd stay there again.

Bread and butter pickles were too spicy and could use a bit of sweetness.

The shower is phenomenal with rain shower head. Beds are comfortable, and staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again. We loved the rooftop bar.

R6802IDbrendah (6/5): It’s okay - I booked my room with Nikki. She was so friendly & informative. My biggest complaint is that the beds are rock hard & I am used to a firm mattress. After 4 sleepless nights & numerous complaints to the people behind the front desk I stumbled across 1 of the managers who tracked down a topper for my bed. I think her name was Kayla or Katie. Something was finally done to make the bed a bit softer. The housekeeper Emily went the extra mile on cleaning my room too. I was booked for a couple of weeks in a suite & was ready to ck. Out due to the uncomfortable bed situation. My other big complaint is the front desk on 2 separate nights & multiple phone calls doesn’t answer the phone. If you go down to the desk someone is there. Strange……

Clean, well maintained; staff are attentive, courteous and professional - The Bristol is our preferred hotel when we travel by car with our dog between the Florida panhandle and New York's Catskills mountains. The hotel provides quiet elegance and great meals in a long two day drive. Parking could be better.
Z5287NClaurag (10/5): Don't tell me this town aint got no heart; you just gotta poke around! Small-town America deserves a visit! - I live in Richmond, VA, and my son is in school in Chattanooga, TN. I wanted to spend some time with him, but I only had two days to get away. I found Bristol on the map and figured that this was a good 'halfway point' to meet up. The Bristol Hotel was just stunning. Its history, the accommodations, and the friendly staff solidified that I had made a great choice. We visited the Country Music Museum, which adjoins the hotel, walked the beautiful downtown (especially loved the music quietly pumping throughout), and ate at many local restaurants. The sound of the train bellowing as it rambled by made this one of my favorite small-town discoveries.
petea2z (10/5): Pleasant Roadtrip Surprise - Ours was just a short overnight stay on a longer road trip down I-81, but the comfort factor at The Bristol Hotel was high. I did't even realize that I had booked a Winter Getaway special, so we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we were entitled to a complimentary spiked hot chocolate, which was very much appreciated at the end of a long day on the road. Everyone we dealt with --- from check-in reception to rooftop bar to check-out desk -- was very pleasant. Beds and pillows were comfy. Rainshower showerhead was also a pleasant treat.

dwights2026 (10/5): The Bristol, a modern Hotel with that "Grand Old Hotel" feel. - This is the fourth time we, my wife and I , have stayed at the Bristol Hotel. We like staying there, it reminds you of the days of "The Grand Old Hotels". All of the employees we have dealt with are courteous and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We love going to the rooftop Bar in the evening for a drink (the Bloody Mary is spot on). You can also order food while at the Bar. The town of Bristol is perfect for a weekend getaway. Take time to explore the town and surrounding area. P.S. While staying at the Bristol walk down to the Blackbird Bakery for coffee and one of their pastries, you won't be disappointed.

DavidMcD213 (10/5): A reuse hidden gem! - The Bristol Hotel is a unique hidden gem located in downtown Bristol, VA. The hotel’s rooftop bar and onsite restaurant are both excellent, and the view from the rooftop bar - outstanding! The reuse of an existing building also checks the sustainability and low impact development model. The rooms are well designed, staff very helpful, and the location is very convenient to downtown attractions and restaurants.

549duaneb (10/5): The Bristol Hotel is the gem of the city - The hotel is a beautifully repurposed 100 year old office building. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The lobby is welcoming. Vivian’s Table serves delicious food. There’s even a great rooftop lounge overlooking the city. Its location next to the Birthplace of Country Music Museum makes it a great place to stay when visiting Bristol.

Rooms are beautifully decorated but more importantly they are comfortably furnished. Beds were firm and comfortable. It is very quiet and clean in rooms and common areas of hotel. Pet friendly and there are grass areas right outside the front door of hotel and a park across the street. There are sidewalks for easy walking with a dog. Great restaurant inside hotel with local flavors and location is walking distance to many other restaurants and shopping. Easy parking. Great hotel. Highly recommend!
Jasonthecarman (10/5): Home away from home - Me an my wife first stayed here a few months ago for a spontaneous trip and we fell in love with the hotel. It has became a monthly trip now for a quick day getaway. We love the rooms, rooftop bar and restaurant. Great food and drinks at both locations. A special shoutout goes to Mallory at the front as she has always been the one to check us in and we have gotten to know her. She always makes us feel like celebrities when we arrive and takes the extra time to make sure we have everything we need. All the staff has been friendly and I would highly advise anyone in the area to come give this place a try.
Burns (9/5): Pleasant stay in boutique centrally located hotel with very comfortable beds. - Dinner at Vivian’s Table was great; good food and very friendly service. Hotel location is very central to town activities, including the Christmas tree lighting that happened the night we were there. Comfortable beds. Room was very nice but on the small side. Due to road closures for tree lighting ceremony, we were not able to drive up to the hotel to unload our luggage but had to park at a distance and lug it to the hotel. Also, there is only street parking and no one to help with luggage.

A highlight is always visiting the Lumac rooftop bar. Nice views. Great ambiance. Good drink and food. Although I did not enjoy Vivian’s table on this trip, I have eaten there several times and can highly recommend that as well.

USAUS67 (10/5): Almost Perfect - A fabulous, exceptionally clean hotel with large rooms/bathrooms and a very friendly staff. Very nice restaurant and rooftop bar. Would definitely recommend staying there if you are in the Bristol area. You won't find a nicer hotel in a better location than the Bristol. But now I'm going to nitpick a little. Would have been perfect if the single serve coffee maker in the room had the option for tea or hot chocolate. Would have been perfect if the mattress didn't sound like there was a plastic mattress cover beneath the sheet. Would have been perfect if the $2 whipped cream (dollop), or $2 strawberry (a single cut up strawberry) wasn't tacked on to the breakfast price. The hotel is a 9 but could be 10 with just a few tweaks and some better food.

We stopped again on our way back BUT THEN planned a fall GET-AWAY again becuz we LOVE this hotel - we live in Nashville and will drive here anytime!!!LOVE eating the Mediterranean Salmon EVERYTIME! No crazy crowds and super awesome service!!! Don’t have to pay $ to park either!!!! The rooftop bar is a must too! Walking around town is great but eating at at Vivian’s is the BEST! 501elainep (10/5): this hotel is a hidden gem - We were tired and hungry when we arrived and were so happy to be greeted by such a friendly staff. We took our luggage to the room and went downstairs to see if we could still get into Vivian’sTable for a late dinner (we had earlier reservations that I cancelled as we were running so late). Again, the staff was so friendly and seated us right away. Dinner was fabulous!!!! The room was appointed nicely and was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom design was well done. We had breakfast the next morning at Vivian’s Table and again everything was delicious. This place is a hidden gem and we will definitely return.

Christine was the one who checked us and who we encountered the most! The room was spacious and quiet, heard little to no noise outside, including the elevator that was right across the hall. Plenty of parking right infront of the building. I had a dog with us and I thought it was so cute that they provided a bed with a blanket and a food and water bowl. I will be returning!!
Climber714412 (10/5): An absolutely positive experience with good vibes throughout the hotel - We love this place! This was not our first stay and it never disappoints. From the restaurant, Vivian’s table to the rooftop bar. The atmosphere is great. The location makes it easy to explore downtown. The rooms are nicely decorated. It’s a great value for the location and atmosphere. The staff is always willing to help, and we will return again. The decor is updated and inviting throughout the hotel.
Excursion138144 (10/5): Amazing!! - We had a wonderful time at The Bristol Hotel. Upon arrival we were welcomed and received our room keys quickly. The hotel was immaculate. Very detail was clean and well maintained. The location of the hotel was perfect and we were able to walk to dinner and bars nearby! We would definitely stay here again if ever traveling through the area! Highly recommend.

X7836UIcindyr (10/5): Our new favorite hotel! - Lovely renovated hotel. Room was fantastic. We had a suite so we had a sofa and chair. Room had more plugs than we ever seen in any hotel. Service was exceptional. Everyone was friendly, kind, helpful. Loved the Rooftop Bar. Had cocktails and ample choices of snacks. The view was lovely. The dining room was Vivian’s on the first floor. Dinner and breakfast were served there. We only had breakfast and it was excellent. Service was excellent too. Brunch was offered on the weekend. We can’t wait to go back! We would give The Bristol 10+++ stars!

Williams (1/5): Misled by Booking.com’s fraudulent description. - The Bristol is nice. Booking.com listed the suite as having a hot tub as the highlight. None of the rooms at the Bristol have “hot tubs”. Very disappointing as that was the only reason I got the expensive suite. I definitely would have stayed elsewhere if not for the misleading Booking.com description.

552macyc (10/5): Stay here and you will be treated like a king! - My stay was wonderful. The hotel texted me beforehand wondering if they could provide any additional accommodation for me, and I mentioned wanting some restaurant recs for my birthday. When I arrived, they left a handwritten card and some chocolate covered almonds for my birthday! So so sweet. The room and bathroom was SPOTLESS and the hotel rooftop bar was dreamy and provided excellent service. It was very quiet and peaceful at night, and I slept great.

S8819DTmikeb (10/5): Great Get Away or interesting stop for the night - We have stayed at the Bristol Hotel 3 times in the last 1.5 yrs and a very enjoyable stay! Rooms are very comfortable, well appointed and quiet. Roof top bar is very enjoyable for drinks and food and the view as is Vivian’s Table restaurant for Breakfast and Dinner. A must try is the smoked Gouda cheese grits! Country Music hall of fame is at the end of the block and a great visit as well.

The staff was all friendly and everything was very very clean. We visited the rooftop bar and Vivian’s table and loved both. Only a 10 minute drive to the casino which was great. Would definitely return again!
Eric (8/5): WE'LL BE BACK!! - LOVE BRISTOL AND THIS WAS OUR FIRST STAY AT THE BRISTOL HOTEL. THE DESK CLERK WAS GREAT, I THINK HIS NAME WAS SAM, SAW HIM SEVERAL TIMES DURING OUR STAY AND HE WAS ALWAYS FRIENDLY. THE HOTEL IS RIGHT IN TOWN AND NEAR LOTS OF LOCAL WATERING HOLES.

Our first time coming through Bristol from Raleigh on our way to Chattanooga and we had a fantastic stay. Love it, we’ll be back to this hotel for sure!

We also ate at Vivian's table attached to the restaurant. Our waitress was great. She recommended places to see that night. Food was very good. Definitely will go again if we are ever in the area again.
