Guest Reviews

- Brent (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were very quiet. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and at a reasonable price.
- Yi (10/5): - A very cool hotel.
Our triple room was spacious, and the beds are very comfy.
The owner was very welcoming.
The only thing is there are not much around the area, but it’s only 15-min drive to Stykkishólmur where you can get all you need.

- Michael (10/5): - Friendly staff with a personal touch.
- Patrick (10/5): Excellent property - Very helpful staff and very clean room and property. Hotel is off the beaten track but it meant that with no light pollution we had an excellent Northern Lights show.
- Phillip (10/5): - Very happy with our stay, Would stay again
- Kristine (10/5): - It was a country guest house. Felt like I was really seeing the la escape and the people. Down a long dirt road off of another gravel road. Stellar views. Peaceful quiet but only 13 km from town where there were dining options other than the onsite restaurant. Would recommend for sure
- Dominique (10/5): - Very friendly staff. We arrived at 8:50pm and they still offered us dinner from the restaurant, which closes at 9pm. A little interesting to get to, which involved some rough gravel roads up a small hill.
- Pawel (10/5): - Home Sweet Home- this place is wonderful, very clean, staff friendly and helpful with anything you need ( directions, weather) . Wonderful restaurant inside with best food and drinks. You will feel like visiting your family. Highly recommend, looking forward to stay again in the future.
- Marianne (10/5): - Cute hotel, a bit out of the way but worked for our visit to Snaefellsnes Penninsula. Food at the restaurant was good and the room was clean and cozy. We enjoyed it.

Had cod for dinner which was delicious!
The hotel is the perfect combination of rustic and modern.
- Wei (10/5): - Clean, quiet, friendly. Thanks!
- David (8/5): - Wonderful getaway, but no where near Stykkyslhomur as advertised. In fact, quite a distance and very hard to find, especially using GPS for the name of the hotel.
- Tami (10/5): - Beautiful property and comfortable accommodation- the staff were friendly. Great breakfast!
- Craig (10/5): - Located in a quiet countryside location.
- Susan (8/5): - Beautiful wood and tile decor.
- Ann (10/5): - Lovely family run guest house with dining on property.
- Brent (10/5): - Very nice hotel warm and cozy great room offers pre booked home cooked meals free coffee well maintained easy to get to great place to stay to cover the western peninsula

- Kevin (10/5): - This was such a beautiful and quaint place to stay during our trip! The owner was amazing, doing everything from check in to services to waiting tables. You can tell they take a lot of price in running this hotel and their hard work pays off! Everything was very tidy and the space was quiet and relaxing. The food was amazing, and the views are great too. They also have laundry facilities for a fee, which is super helpful!
- YIWEI (8/5): - I pretty like the hotel designs and hotel restaurant
- Thomas (6/5): - Helpful staff, but I had to wait 1,5 hours for my dinner order, and gave up finally. I did not eat my meal order until lunchtime the next day. After that, I only had breakfast there, which was okay.
- Eduardo (10/5): Excellent hidden Hotel - Our stay in this farm/hotel was superb from start to finish. Absolutely great! The reception Joy, the dinner, the room and the facility with the amazing view. Highly Recommend
- Ian (10/5): - Was our favourite place to stay in during our entire trip. Area is very remote so it was extremely quiet at night. I don't think either of us has had such a good nights sleep in years!
- Lorea (10/5): Simply amazing. - I cannot even describe with words how amazing the stay at Stundarfriður was. I just loved it. I loved the room, the building, the surroundings, dinner... I only would have added some gluten-free bread for dinner and breakfast because I cannot eat gluten but, other than that, I an amazing had breakfast and dinner. We even had a little problem with the shower and, even though it was late at night, we called the phone they give you at reception desk and they helped us straight away.
- LisaMarie (10/5): - The property was beautiful and we had excellent service and food. We got 2 great nights of the Northern lights during our visit. We had dinner and breakfast there. The room was clean and a great size. Would stay again. Only thought is that I wish there was a protein at breakfast (eggs) but the rest of breakfast was great.
- Nicole (10/5): - Lovely hotel in a gorgeous location. Our room was charming, spacious, and had a spectacular view. Very conveniently located near Helgafell, Stykkishölmer and the Shark Museum. An excellent base from which to explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Highly recommend.
- Kristin (10/5): - The view was amazing. The staff was great.
- Tyler (10/5): - Great staff, comfortable rooms with views.
- Jim (10/5): - Excellent surprise great staff, good food and clean cozy rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - An adorable small hotel. Comfortable beds and linens. Great breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful views. Roomy and clean accommodations.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Remote location - mixed bag - Hotel was cozy and very quiet. Bedding was a little strange with furry coverlet and accent pillows, but everything seemed very clean. This hotel is located off a gravel road so a bit bumpy getting there, but not hard to find.
Radiant heat floors are a bit of an issue as there are no individual controls for rooms which assumes that everyone has the same internal temperature. Our room was quite cool and they needed to provide a space heater that we needed to move around to heat the bathroom and main room.
Dinner menu and bar inventory was very limited so if you want more options you need to drive into nearest village.
- Alexandra (10/5): Quick stop - Nice hotel, with good food. Beautiful location. Better access from the north end of West Fjords
- DIANE (8/5): A beautiful deck and more - We arrived late from sightseeing and getting ourselves lost. Dinner hours had ended but Joy accommodated us. We were delighted. The meal was very good.
- Lindsey (10/5): One night at Stundarfridur. - Stundarfridur is a lovely multi room lodging that seems very new. A log cabin-style, the rooms are very spacious, exceptionally comfortable and quiet, and while it’s a short drive from Stykkisholmur and restaurants or other amenities, it does have a restaurant on site. Food service was a bit slow for dinner, but it was busy and there were just two ladies working very hard to keep everyone happy. I’d stay again if in the area.
- Michael (10/5): - New property; nice sized room. Very nice and helpful people at the front desk.
- Chen (10/5): Liked it. - Friendly staffs and a good location to see Northern Lights. But it is a bit hard to find at night. The GPS in my car could not find it and I had to rely on the Google Map on my phone. Would be great to provide GPS Coordinates to the guests.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property is beautiful and it's location amazing. The rooms are huge and spotless. We ate in the restaurant and dinner was delicious. The Best accommodation of our holiday.
- hsing-sheng (10/5): okay - okay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was unique with beautiful backdrop. Rooms were clean and food was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing guesthouse. Fantastic breakfast included. Lovely staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was very nice hotel in a remote location.
The restaurant served excellent food!
It was very quiet and restful at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Possibly my favorite place in Icleand. Small hotel with about 7 rooms, felt like a log cabin but very updated (seemed brand new) and clean. Great breakfast. Very friendly staff. Room had DVD player and there was a library of DVDs in the hall.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet and secluded with a great view of the ocean and landscape.
- Allan (10/5): - excellent choice. Very welcoming, spacious room, clean. Has a restaurant with excellent food. Also ample breakfast included. Close to little fishing village which is charming and scenic.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property was difficult to find and no email received with directions..however, once found, it was a lovely stay. New, clean, with very comfortable beds and large rooms. No cooking facilities as is a licensed property, but breakfast included.
- shukyin (10/5): Great spot for northern lights - It is a cozy place to stay, comfort bedding, great home cooking, and it is a good spot for northern lights, will definitely stay here again if I have chance to go Iceland again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The biggest problem with the hotel is to find it (At least so far the hotel is not even shown on the google satellite map), but that's all the trouble you will have. The hotel is not very big (7 rooms in total i think), but cozy and clean. The room I lived in was spacious. There is a dinning room so eating is not a problem. Since it is away from towns it's a great spot for aurora hunting~
- Kathy (10/5): Friendly and helpful staff - It’s on average outside of town, which is what we wanted. If northern lights were on it would be perfect
