• Julie (10/5): Perfect place to stay, chill & enjoy the beauty of Dorset - The Staff were very friendly & attentive & were happy to accommodate any of our needs The Dyson hairdryer & The white Company toiletries were lovely & added to the boutique feel of our room. 2 comfy chairs & window seat to view the harbour made it the perfect room to chill in (room 11) We were very lucky with the parking, but it could be an issue in high season

The price was top end, but the quality of the hotel and experience justified it.

The rooms had been recently refurbished so were fresh, very clean, comfortable bed and cotton bedding, good facilities in the room. Nothing, this is a pub with rooms above in a very central location so you expect some noise but it didn’t affect our stay at all.

• Carrie-Anne (9/5): Husbands birthday weekend away and to explore where Broadchurch was filmed - We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with check in and check out, our room was available sooner than we thought and they were happy for us to take our time leaving which was a nice bonus. Car parking next to the hotel was nice & convenient. The hotel is in a great location for beach and coastal path walking. Its a very dog friendly hotel with doggie treats, towels, bowl & dog bed provided which we liked. We ate in the evening sat by a roaring fire. The food, cocktails & wine were great and in the morning the breakfast included in the price of the stay was exceptional. These are not supposed to be negative comments just a bit of feedback. The room was really lovely but it lacked a couple of bits that would have made a nice difference & easier to navigate the room. A couple more coffee pods & some coffee mugs (rather than tea cups) We felt the room lacked a large surface and thought perhaps a slightly bigger table by the wing chairs would have been ideal and lastly a full length mirror. Apart from these small niggles the room & decor were very tasteful.

• Elizabeth (9/5): Wonderfully characterful hotel/pub in a fantastic location. Highly recommend! - The location, right in the centre of Bridport, couldn't have been better. We loved the 'old world' charm of the pub too - such character! We ate there in the evening and the staff were wonderful - extremely attentive and friendly - couldn't do enough to help. On another note, I also loved all of The White Company toiletries and definitely languished indulgently in the bath far longer than needed thanks to this :) We definitely hope to return at some point! The only problem, which was an issue for my husband, was the bright green fire exit light in the bedroom which kept him awake. Otherwise, I couldn't fault anything.

• Belinda Jane (9/5): Great stay before a spectacular cliff walk to Charmouth. - Breakfast was great as were the teas and coffee provided in the studio. The dining room was a little cold due to a cold snap but we were sat next to the radiator, so thanks. Alos this is just for the hotels knowledge, the radiators in the studio seem rather noisy, they maybe need to be drained of too much water build up that causes this noise. Thanks all the same as the studio was cozy and warm!

• Caroline (1/5): Would definitely not recommend. This is rundown pub that happens to be by the beech. - The hotel is a pub with an extension added on with rooms. If you have a "Sea view room" you can only see the sea if you stand at the window and overlook the cafe right next to your room , on the beech. You are basically looking at their bins and delivery area for food etc. For £645 for 2 nights I wasn't expecting a pub quiz night on the first nights stay. The staff were unfriendly and looked tired. The room was basic and did not meet my expectations. The town is tired and lacks character.

The staff were exceptionally helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a larger room after a long hike from Lyme Regis. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, quiet and the bed was incredibly comfortable — the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a while. As I had to leave early and couldn’t make breakfast, they kindly prepared a lovely takeaway package with croissants and yogurt for the morning.

Our room was lovely and spacious and nice and peaceful despite being above the pub. The pub had a great atmosphere and we enjoyed both our evening meal and breakfast. Thanks to the team for making us feel welcome! My only quibble would be that the duvet was too warm…but this is often the case at hotels/b&bs!

• Natalie (9/5): A Bridport gem - My impression of the Bridport Arms is that it is generous and attentive to detail. I really appreciated the little boxes of tea, the Decaf options, the fresh milk, the additional heater - for example. The water pressure is also amazing and the shower was especially good. We are an lgbt couple and sometimes are nervous about booking into family run hotels - but we didn't need to be worried. The breakfast was especially delicious. It's a little on the pricey side, but worth it in my opinion. The restaurant was a bit chilly in the morning, but it was unseasonably cold, so I'm sure in the winter they'd have their gorgeous open fire going.

Staying at this hotel and restaurant was the best decision ever. My mum was a bit sick throughout our stay and the staff couldn’t be more helpful and lovely. Having a restaurant with amazing food at the hotel just made our lives easier. The room was big and bright. Every little detail was well taken care of. Comfortable king size bed. Huge toilet with lovely toiletries and a Dyson hairdryer! The room was equipped with a fridge with milk and mineral water. There was a selection of delicate teas and a coffee machine. They even provide beach towels. The staff was very kind and naturally friendly. The hotel is right by the beach. Breakfast was excellent and filling with a good range of choice. We cannot wait to visit this amazing place again!

• Jon (6/5): The Bridport Arms was a big part of my childhood. We would go crabbing by the harbour and roll on the grass and slide do - The location is second to none. So close to the beach, that the shingle spills around the front of the hotel. The harbour is a few steps on the other side. Parking is quite easy. They have enough free spaces right next to the hotel. The breakfast is perfect. The sourdough toast, eggs, avocado and salmon was generous and went down well. The view of the beach is a little over-rated. Through a small window, you can certainly see the beach and the sea. But it’s not the sweeping view of the Jurassic Coast that you might hope for. You also get a good view of the backside of the beach cafe below and the workings of the kitchen and staff unloading food. The two-level suite was a bit quirky. Really the only thing of any use on the lower level is the bathroom. There’s a dressing room with a desk, but I can’t think why you would use it. Upstairs was an odd layout. Our two single beds were at the end of a long room with coffee and tea in the middle. There was a Tv and a couple of chairs near the window, which you would probably never use. Going up and downstairs wasn’t too much of a problem for me, but it was an effort for my mother.
