• Starshaped (8/5): A beautiful hotel but not perfect - The hotel is wonderfully located, very convenient to walk to many places but also to the metro. Our room was large and very comfortable. Great bed. Efficient air con. Very quiet - didn’t hear noise from above etc. House keeping slightly erratic - for example, the number of towels given varied.,.but it was very clean. Staff at reception are lovely…v friendly and check in was smooth. The drinks from the bar are tasty but service patchy. On our first day we literally had to wait 30 minutes for 2 drinks. Not ok. Some staff definitely better than others. Breakfast is very delicious but again, too slow. This is stressful if you have a booking somewhere or a flight to catch. Maybe a buffet system would be better? We did really enjoy our stay - some aspects are fantastic but I don’t think 5 stars can be given when service is so hit and miss.

We were delighted that our room was available for an early check in. Great location near the Atocha train station. Safe and easy walking access to all of the main attractions. The room was generous in size by European standards. Breakfast was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when visiting Madrid.

And honestly, the credit goes first and foremost to the people working there. Their service isn’t just professional, it’s genuinely warm. They make you feel like you belong, like you’re being taken care of by people who truly care, not just staff doing their job. The suites are beautiful, clean, and have a very cozy vibe. Everything feels calm, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. The rooms are spacious, giving you that sense of comfort that feels more like home than a hotel. This is actually my second stay here, and I came back for a reason. I love the people, I love how they treat me, how they spoil me and make me feel like I’m one of them. Their smiles never leave their faces, and that alone changes your whole experience. And the location? Just wow. You can walk almost everywhere within 30 minutes, and the city center is very close, so Madrid is basically at your fingertips. In short: it’s not just a place you stay at… it’s a place you want to come back to.

It's a wonderful experience overall, a tranquil, relaxing spot within walking distance to the city's many attractions. However, what truly made this one of our best hotel stays ever was the front desk team of Domingo and Gerard. Domingo helped us with last-minute plans to see a flamenco show, recommending the amazing venue Corral de la Morería and assisting with our reservations. Gerard recommended incredible sights to see and places to eat based on our feedback from the prior day's adventures, even helping us find a fun place to watch the local European Cup match. Above and beyond that, Domingo and Gerard exuded a friendly, welcoming energy that made us feel like valued guests in their homes - sharing stories about their favorite cities, pictures of worldwide surfing adventures, or just making good fun about their rival home town football teams. Thank you for making our time in Madrid special!
• Qroe (8/5): Beautiful and friendly, some annoying flaws - This is a beautiful hotel in a good and central location in Madrid. The rooms certainly have a wow factor, with high ceilings and tasteful decoration, they have great beds and are well stocked. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. The level of service is high. They really strive to be a little oasis in the heart of the city. Still, I cannot give a perfect score because for an expensive hotel like this, there are some annoying flaws that really should be avoided. First, if people explicitly ask for a quiet room, why give them a room sitting right above the kitchen ventilator? All day between 7AM and midnight, there was a constant drone like having a really noisy refrigerator in the room. After 2 days we were able to change rooms and I have to say the new room was brilliant in terms of being quiet: no exterior and no interior noises, something very hard to find in Madrid! Second, if you have a pool, why have it open on a cold day and close it for maintenance on a warm day? Third, the breakfast is great, which it should be at 29€ per person, but for that price I also expect a nice bottle of mineral water on the table, and not American-style chlorinated tap water. So all in all a good hotel which could be great if such annoyances can be avoided.

The staff was very attentive and helpful (including booking transportation to Toledo and restaurant reservations/recommendations. The location was a short walk for Puerta de Sol, Plaza Mayor and the museum triangle. The rooms were large with two shower and the staff dropped off nightly water. The pool had comfortable seating around the circumference and was a nice area relax .

• Karalerf (4/5): Not what was described. - Location is good. Restaurant is fantastic. Room was not good. I booked the master suite two bedroom for two couples. The room we got was not the room that they show you in the 360 video. The room they gave us was smaller and the bathrooms only had a glass wall. From the bed you had a clear view of the toilet. There is zero privacy in the bathroom. Had I known, I would not have chosen this room. They should make a situation like this very clear in the descriptions. I can’t imagine anyone wanting this room. I do not know anyone who is comfortable with zero privacy on the toilet. Furthermore, the room description clearly lists an air conditioner. They did not have the ac running. Apparently they shut it down during the winter. It was a warm day. It is currently 9:30 at night and we are laying in bed with all the windows open and it is too warm to sleep. The windows open to a very small courtyard that had no breeze. The room has a ceiling fan that is in poor condition. It is so loud you can hardly talk over it. Would not stay here again.

• Reiner (9/5): Perfekter Standort in der City mit viel Service - Unsere Juniorsuite war sehr komfortabel und hatte ein fast 20qm grosses Bad. Das Zimmer war auch angenehm ruhig und das Frühstück ist nicht nur lange verfügbar sondern auch umfassen und sehr ordentlich Ein schwenkbarer Fernseher sollte sein, denn ansonsten kein Blick von der Couch oder vom Bett. Das verfügbare Licht ist etwas zu gering, vor allem im Bad.

• Michaela (10/5): Exceptional Rooms, Location and Staff! - Everything from the room, the staff and the location was exceptional. Our room was incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the courtyard. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel right at home. We also loved how centrally located the hotel is as it's walking distance to all the museums and sights, with wonderful tapas restaurants in the surrounding streets. There was nothing that we didn't like.
• Mohammed (10/5): I could call it the highlight of my trip! - The hotel & the staff are exceptional, it's a renovated palace and the hotel is relatively brand new. So expect it to be in pristine conditions, exceptional service from staff that is passionate to help. Our special occasion was taken care of and they made our day so much more special.

• 792briann (10/5): An Oasis of Tranquil Comfort - This hotel made our trip. Just very thoughtfully designed, appointed and staffed. Sure it is beautiful and has a great location, but the rooms are soundproofed and I slept better here than at home (which is uncommon for me at 49). Oscar should be promoted, given a raise, and allowed to host “Mexican Nights with Oscar” in the restaurant.

• gaelicgurl (10/5): This must be the place! Always here! - This is such a beautiful hotel, prime location, extraordinary staff in the hotel and the restaurant! Where to start? My sister and daughter stayed at other four star hotels in Madrid and we would compare spots. First, the staff always went the extra step here. Remembering names, assisting in any way possible, attentive to detail and always friendly and engaging if we wanted any suggestions. Even the turndown staff! The room was spectacular! We backed onto the courtyard and it was quiet. The bedding, mattress, pillows, towels, toiletries, furniture - all lovely and luxurious. The location was walking distance from museums, restaurants, markets, shopping! We only used a taxi to the airport. The restaurant was delicious! We had dinner, drinks, breakfast and again - fantastic staff and service! Just so thoughtful and kind. I hope if you’re fortunate enough to be visiting Madrid, book a room at Cool Rooms Palacio Atocha. Order what I considered the VERY BEST SANGRIA (my research will be published shortly;) in Madrid at the restaurant and enjoy what I consider the best hotel experience I have had in a very long while. • Aneirav (10/5): Ever so Special - Cool Rooms Palacio de Atocha in Madrid was an exquisite experience for my family and me . The palace turned hotel is charming and romantically decorated. I loved being able to walk to different parts of city . Restaurants, coffee shops and variety of shopping are available near hotel. I enjoyed the different Christmas markets near hotel . Tourist attractions are easily within walking distance . Mostly, I was touched by the warm and gracious nature of the hotel staff. Abel, Domingo and Joel made our stay ever so special. They just want to make you happy . I was sad to say goodbye . And , don’t miss their restaurant. In fact , don’t miss staying here.
• Keith (9/5): Great location and brilliant service - Service and food were excellent. Atmospheric building in a great location for shops, sights, parks and museums. It was mid winter and very cold when we stayed. The heating struggled to get the room warm. No heating in the bathroom.
• laters2025 (10/5): Exceptional - This hotel is a delightful surprise tucked away in Madrid's city center. Since it's not part of a well-known chain, they've poured extra care into room design and amenities to ensure guests feel satisfied and happy. The suite we booked was exceptionally spacious, and their sofa bed—which is actually a day bed—provided my 13-year-old daughter with a very comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom was exceptionally large, featuring brass fixtures throughout—evidence of the hotel's generous investment in design. Thoughtful touches like providing European plug adapters solved a common problem with a small gesture. Its prime location placed it within a 15-minute walk of any major attraction. Don't forget the front desk staff's warm hospitality and patient service—they even wrote down the names of the most popular restaurants in the area on a little card for us.

So pleased we booked for our anniversary, was so romantic and our room had sooooo many things ubrella, steamer, adapters, pretty much anything you might need. they also were so kind and gave us strawberries and champagne and a room upgrade for our anniversary. Would def say again!

• crackliffe (10/5): My Favorite Hotel Stay of the Year - I stayed in a suite at CoolRooms Palacio de Atocha, and it was absolutely exceptional. The room was clean, stylish, and serene—designed with the kind of quiet luxury that makes you instantly relax the moment you walk in. The location was also incredibly convenient and walkable to much of what central Madrid has to offer. The staff was incredible start to finish. They helped me with my bags, arranged a dinner reservation on my behalf, and consistently went above and beyond in ways that made the entire stay feel personal and memorable. I’ve stayed at nearly ten different hotels this year, and this was by far my favorite—and a great deal at that. I truly can’t recommend this hotel enough. Book it already!
