Guest Reviews
- robin (8/5): Beautiful location and comfortable accomodation. - Beautiful location, very quiet, waking to bird song, lovely walks, near to Oban and ferries to the islands.
The lodge was small but had everything we needed. It was easy to heat and there was plenty of hot water.
The bed was comfortable. The host was responsive very quickly. Getting into the lodge was very easy. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Irene (9/5): I would have loved to stay longer - Cozy place for two people and our dog. The information provided was great to be able to explore the area. The barn restaurant is a great + to the stay.
Katie was very helpful fixing our toilet issue very fast. Having a coffee machine would be a great addition.
- Gayle (10/5): - The lodge was lovely and clean. It felt very cosy and had a lovely view.
- john (10/5): -
- Cowan (8/5): - Good location. Nice clean property. We were there for the Highlands and Islands Music Festival so weren't around the, site much but perfect for our needs. Hot water ran out twice so not ideal when 4 staying but at least shower was hot. Pillows could do with being replaced. A bit low so plumper ones would be good but only a suggestion. Bathroom door and window were sticking but could be due to previous guests not ventilating. The twin bed nearest the window moves a bit when turning over.
- Arianna (8/5): -
- Trevor (9/5): -
- Tony (10/5): -
- MukeshKumar (9/5): - Top marks for location. Feels like middle of no where however less than 10 min drive from Oban and Big Tesco/M&S.
Sit on the deck and it is Pitch Dark at night with loads of stars visible and you can hear small stream trickling down the valley loud and clear which is quite soothing. Bed was very comfortable. Internet is good. Heaters can keep it cozy in freezing temperatures. Katie was always available on whatsapp and would respond swiftly and was kind enough to accommodate our request. 30 second walk to the pub which ha a pool table and has a nice vibe so no need to have a designated driver :) Only the bedroom door did not stay shut and kept opening with a spooky creaking sound. So needed tightening and some WD40 spray.
- Amy (10/5): -
- Mccrimmon (10/5): - We absolutely loved the accommodation and location. Thank you very much. Nothing
- Jonathan (9/5): -
- Penny (10/5): - Really enjoyed an absolutely excellent stay at Coligin. Everything was perfect and Katie and tge staff went over and above to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
We will return in the future. We only stayed for 2 nights but could easily have stayed longer as we were so comfortable. We found nothing we didn't like as it was all excellent from the location/ views/ walks / hospitality , didn't want to leave. Although we were travelling on to Mull we could enjoy our stay even longer
- Caroline (8/5): Had a great time, was there at Hogmanay, had bonfire and fireworks, great night, everlasting memories for us and the kid - Was very well equipped , he’d everything we needed. No complaints, loved everything about it.
- Julia (10/5): Relaxing, stunning scenery. - The welcome ,the property. Weather!!!
- Alyson (10/5): Brilliant accomodation in a good location. - I've been before. So comfy and the hosts are excellent re communication. Clean and comfy beds. Nothing. Everything was good as we remember.
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful location and the person I spoke to to organise the stay was great but the bar staff were a bit odd 😂 - The views Nothing
- Pau (9/5): -
- Oscar (10/5): Lovely few nights away - Quiet and spacious and great hosts Nothing really
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Natalie (10/5): Very peaceful surroundings in a cosy spacious lodge - The Barn bar restaurant menu is not updated on the website so we were very disappointed when we realised we’d have to cancel the nights we booked.
- Carmelina (10/5): We had a great holiday. Recharged the batteries. - Great facilities. Spotless. In peaceful location. N/A
- Linda (9/5): - Location and pub on site
- Julie (9/5): Lovely welcome - Clean and beautiful location No log fire
- Margaret (8/5): - Lovely clean cabin with beautiful surroundings. Had a lovely four days.
- Philip (9/5): Most enjoyable, will recommend to friends and hope to return . - Nice quiet location. Handy to visit many locations.
Extremely comfortable and warm accommodation. Barn bar was on Winter opening days rota .
- Jane (8/5): WE LOVED OUR STAY AT COLOGIN & WOULD HAPPILY RETURN - Loved the location, the Barn was great to have on the doorstep too! The brown bath water was slightly off putting, but tasted fine & was totally safe.
- Jackie (9/5): - Lovely spot with a great bar/restaurant
- Rebecca (10/5): Lovely Lodges in a great location. - Lovely place to stay, well situated for Oban and the western isles. Lodges are really clean and check in was a breeze as communication from the owners was brilliant. Didn't get to sample the bar but it looked busy.
- Shirley-Anne (9/5): -
- West (10/5): Just what the doctor ordered. :-) - The hosts were very nice, giving clear and concise instructions on location and how to get there, as well as simple guidance once we arrived. The location was perfect. A hidden little gem of a place. Peaceful, beautiful scenery with plenty local interest and walks. It was also within easy reach of countless other attractions by car. We only had a short stay, we will return for longer. I could have had more time. As far as finding fault with the place, or the hosts, i cannot and i would venture as far as say: if this place doesn't please you, then you're looking for the wrong thing.
- Julie (10/5): -
- Chandni (7/5): Okay - Good little place in a nice location away from the town centre. Pots and pans in the kitchen were not clean with food stuck to some of them. Oven dishes with completely rusted.
- Michelle (10/5): Weekend get away - The rural setting was amazing.
The cabin had everything you could need for a self-catering stay.
The dog friendly onsite pub was lovely. Good food and friendly staff. Nothing to not like
- Gerard (8/5): Lovely stay, had a storm so didn’t have internet most of the time but was cosy inside. - Cosy, parking right outside, very friendly atmosphere, just outside town. Nothing
- Albert (9/5): Unfortunately we could not take full advantage of our stay at Cologin because we were there when storm Amy was hitting S - Very comfortable chalet. Beautiful spot.
- KAREN (9/5): Wonderful cosy cabin stay - Property was lovely and cosy on arrival
Cabin was furnished with everything you could need
Towels were large and soft which was lovely
Place was spotlessly clean
Bed slightly harder than like but slept fine in it and again very clean
Very quietly located and loved seeing the sheep around
Contact with power was by text and always responsive when required.
Overall a lovely wee place to spend a few nights chilling and unwinding Unfortunately the pub and restaurant were not open for use which was the only downfall,as it’s a drive from Oban and a wee beer would have been nice in the pub.
- Sergio (8/5): -
- regis (8/5): Paisible ! Propre ! Table extérieure !
- David (10/5): Clean, comfortable in a fab location with a great set up, Katie has been so welcoming - Fantastic Property and set up having originally booked one lodge for a week for one of our squads, we have went back this week taking 5 lodges, Katie has been excellent and super accommodating we will be using the lodges more long term and for future works in Aberdeen
- Myriam (8/5): -
- Gary (10/5): - Amazing
- Joke (7/5): - Schitterende locatie.
- Alistair (9/5): - Liked the tranquility, the cabin was cute. The onsite bar in the barn was great, the food was fabulous and Alice, our hostess, was amazing. Also a great walk to the loch.
- Steve (10/5): - Great restaurant and bar Could do with bit of an update in the chalet but only minor issues
- Paul (9/5): Good access to the site and well signed posted, Oban town centre and shops only a short distance - Lovely site and location, Not much storage for clothes,
- Ian (8/5): Location was perfect for a short stay and wished we had booked a couple more days - Location to Oban and the surrounding countryside
- Robert (8/5): - very quiet, nice size cabins, easy to get into Oban Uncomfortable mattress
- Emma (10/5): We had so much fun here. It was a shame we weren’t staying for longer. - It was cosy and had everything we needed. Nothing. Loved it!
(Dark Sky) Niets
- Roz (7/5): Overall good but the place could do with a bit of TLC - Location & onsite restaurant/bar A few things missing e.g kitchen tea towel, pepper, sample sugar etc
- Sara Anna (7/5): - Natura intorno
- Ralph (10/5): - We loved the peaceful location cabin had everything we needed the barn bar was lovely and the staff where amazing
- Josephine (8/5): -
- Ian (9/5): -
- Carol (10/5): Excellent value for money lodges, great location will definitely go back - Friendly family that run the site, lovely bar/restaurant on site, great food and fantastic service.
Location of site was perfect for exploring Oban and surrounding areas, would definitely recommend and would book for a return trip Sofa in lodge could have been a bit comfier but weather was great so used balcony and chairs
- Scott-Daniels (10/5): Perfect to relax after busy days - Spotlessly clean, well maintained lovely outside space excellent WiFi
Great base for Oban and around
Comfortable bed
- Amber (9/5): -
- Sabina (9/5): -
In quanto struttura prefabbricata in legno.
- maria (8/5): Would love to visit again for longer but would self cater - Beautiful location. Clean and well appointed . Easy checkin, friendly , helpful staff Check out is 10am. No time to enjoy the place which is a shame. On site restaurant decidedly average . Limited choic, no decent salads definitely don’t recommend the five bean chili. Reminded me of a vesta curry . Staff were lovely though
- Derek (7/5): - Great quiet location Quality of barn bar food a bit average
- Shuff (9/5): Extraordinary location with beautiful surroundings and responsive kind staff. - It is in a very beautiful location. It was quiet and peaceful. I should have brought my own shampoo and body wash. The bed was a bit hard. None of this would prevent me from staying again
- Natasha (5/5): It did the job… - The location is perfect. Very close to Oban. Lovely forest walk to an amazing loch where we could swim. We were lucky with the weather and could sit on the little porch which was great. Great for travelling with dogs. We ate at the Barn and it was really tasty. It could benefit from some updating. It was quite tired looking (especially the bathroom). The place had mould in a few places and had a bit of mildewy smell overall even though all the windows were open. I appreciate it’s a holiday home and Scottish weather is quite humid however there were mould marks on the curtains, around the windows and on the ceiling of one of the bedrooms. The kitchen is quite limited although we made due for a couple of nights.
- Pepijn (8/5): -
- James (8/5): Nice and relaxing friendly atmosphere good walks for the dog ideally situated for all sites of historic interest - Well situated good food staff were very helpful and courteous Noisy fridge
- katie (5/5): Good for a one night stay - Keys in door on arrival , was helpful but no check in from owners not a big issue as all communication via text. Had all appliances that you could need for self catering for a night. The mattress was not comfortable, others may have a diffetent experience but would put us off sadly going back
- Chun Kit (10/5): - located at a quiet area where you can enjoy the nature and not getting disturbed, the lodge is clean and tidy, have everything we need, love the chocolate Labrador!
- John (10/5): Couldn't recommend highly enough. - Everything! Staff were super friendly, stunning location, really well-appointed accommodation. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
- Katja (10/5): - Die Lage ist einzigartig. The Barn ist gemütlich und lecker. Die unbrauchvaten Pfannen 😉
- Shannon (10/5): Great Location - Modern lodge, very clean and dog friendly. Great location! Nice walks and less than 10 mins drive into Oban. On site restaurant does great food too 😁 Nothing
- Eugene (10/5): Great place to stay - Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful landscape. No outlet in the bathroom.
- Ondrej (8/5): Velmi prijemne ubytovani s velkym prostorem. - Krasne prostredi uprostred divociny. Cely dum s veskerym vybavenim. Pohodlne pro rodinu. Veci uz dost pouzivane.

- Shauna (10/5): Wonderful, relaxing stay for Oban visit. - Beautiful location. Close to town centre. Well equipped. Very friendly & accommodating staff. Nothing
- Lee (10/5): A reminder of the power of nature. - The epitome of Scottish Highlands -- the perfect location to unwind in nature. Set against a green backdrop of sheep-riddled hills, the location is also a short walk from a picturesque loch, stunning hikes, and mesmerising forest.
- Katrina (10/5): - Dog friendly, lovely area. Clear messages from staff. Easy check-in. Great price for whole place, cheaper than many Oban hotels for same night. Everything we needed was in accommodation and informative welcome book detailing nearby walks. Bed extremely comfy. Quiet. N/A
- Sean (8/5): -
- Katie (10/5): Stunning location and wonderful facilities - Stunning location and wonderful facilities
- Christopher (9/5): - Great facilities Nothing
- Chrissie (8/5): - Loved the setting and the quiet. Shower whilst efficient, was very noisy!
TV/DVD set up a bit confusing and not very user friendly.
- Teun (8/5): -
- Kelley (9/5): - It was nice how close we were to Oban. Having a place outside the city was perfect. It was quiet and comfortable. Dinner at The Barn was fabulous. The staff were very accommodating and helped us when needed. Everything went well. The only thing would have been to have a change machine in the laundry room.
