Guest Reviews
- Anthony (8/5): Good - Breakfast Soft mattresses
- Shane (9/5): Good location , good value for money - Location close to town and train There was nothing to dislike , everything was as expected
- Tom (8/5): Comfy and convenient for where we were going - The lady at reception was very friendly and spotted that we had arrived with bikes on the car and allowed us to put the bikes securely in a disused function room. It's not a 5 star hotel but for 3 bikers going to an event it was a comfortable and convenient place to stay. Its not a pristine modern hotel, but that didn't matter to us - the proprietor was friendly and being able to store bikes was a real bonus,
- McGillivray (7/5): - Polite and Room was large, clean, & comfy enough. The downside was it was freezing cold i tried to switch on rads wouldn't Work.
Because of this i Left at 5.45am and caught a earlier train.(Hindsight: maybe should have gone and found someone to get a heater). but place was okay Maybe if heating is off a small heater in room
- John (3/5): -
- Julia (7/5): Much appreciated stay in a good area of Dumfries. - Breakfast was good and it catered to my specific dietary requirements which was much appreciated! The location is brilliant - very central, we stayed there a few times before. The building, rooms and dinging room are a little tired and could do with a lick of paint and some redecoration. I understand it's expensive but it would be more attractive.
- NATHAN (7/5): -
- James (10/5): Exallet - Very good will be staying again All good
- Anne (7/5): - Warm welcome Nothing
- Cathy (8/5): - The breakfast was great. The price was very reasonable, and the location was great for looking around all the Robert Burns-associated places in Dumfries! N/A
- Frank (5/5): Stayed two nights but I wouldn’t for an extended period. - Friendly owner and location. The seperate bathroom in the hall.
- Isobel (5/5): So so stay - Friendly welcome. Good location. Lots of dust in rooms and very tired hotel. Cleanliness was below standard but passable.
We needed a last minute place to stay and this met our needs.
- Melanie (8/5): Great friendly central budget hotel - Breakfast was a nice bonus - cereal juice and a chooice of hot dishes all freshly cooked.
Great budget hotel with more personality than the chains . Yes its. seen better days ( so has the town) but it was welcoming warm and clean and we slept . Fantastic location

- Robert (7/5): Stay was ok, you get what you pay for. - Location On suite was small, on suite sink was minute
- sara (10/5): Great place to stay - This was a last Minute booking and i was very pleasantly surprised, the building is very nice with a lot of history, there is some beautiful architecture, and the owners are lovingly restoring it. Accommodation is basic as you would expect for such a cheap hotel but it had everything we needed, it was clean and comfortable. N/A
- Aobha (4/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): Great value guest house in a perfect position - Amazing value, really easy to get to from the station (come out to the right, then take the first road left by the church), the town is just along the other end of the road, the host was friendly and welcoming, my room was all I needed it to be, and the private bathroom was excellent with an easy to use shower. The bed was nice and comfortable and the sink in the bedroom meant I could get water during the night. Nothing comes to mind
- David (7/5): Just used for a short overnight stay. - Left early, did not stay for breakfast N/A very short stop over

- Sarah Thomley (9/5): Excellent overall. - Owner is lovely.
Full Scottish Breakfast was excellent. Coffee was so good too Cereal and fruit selection was perfect. WiFi worked well, Parking plentiful. Quiet location near town centre.
Room was a great price.
We'd stay again for sure. The fire door on landing near room 1 creaked loudly and woke me up suddenly in the night.
A black out curtain in addition to the slatted blind would be beneficial for when it gets light early.
- Jacqueline (5/5): - Breakfast was fine and location was very good Room 5, room with view of a roof and window doesn’t shut properly, this making the room draughty and cold. Only one tea bag and no milk on tea trolly in room, bathroom radiator has seen better dated xx

- Michelle (9/5): Lovely - We were able to book last minute,It was a lovely large clean room, close to the town centre great value for money would definatley stay again. The sink was a bit small and the panelling was peeling off probanly due to it being so small and water dripping down it,
The cups could do with being a bit bigger too, save keep having to put kettle on

- Stevie (5/5): - It was warm.and clean upon arrival we was greeted by a gentleman who was very nice The lock on the door didnt seem to work properly and being a womam on my own with a teenage daughter this put me on edge and i ended up blocking the door with a chair
Also the bed was uncomfortable. Im only 5ft 3 and kept hitting my feet on the end of the bed and the pillows could do with upgrading
