• MICHAEL (6/5): It was convenient but I would chose a different apartment at the Marina next time. - The location. We have stayed at this apartment before, while back. Noise of fan in the bathroom which runs 24/7. The apartment seems run down and neglected since we last stayed. Not much heating for winter at all either.
• Bruce (10/5): Great overall stay in a perfect location - The apartment was great, furnished beautifully, clean with everything one would need. Also great location and secure Not crazy about the non-refundable deposit, new to me after staying at various apartments for many years within this Marina complex. My friend also staying in an apartment in the complex did not have this. The idea of saving time doing all the online security pics and info doesn’t mean anything if you sit in the security office waiting for the person to deliver your keys to you.

• Ian (8/5): Nice waterfront property, good facilties, 10 to 15 min walk to V and A. - Location was nice but was a bit of a walk to the waterfront. Door lock kept getting jammed open luckily 2 locks on door.

• david (5/5): - Location, space, balcony Air conditioning was rubbish. Even on coldest setting had to have patio doors open to keep from being unbearably hot at night. Shower and taps had very low pressure, making the shower quite pathetic. I reported these on day 1.. nothing was done.

• Andrea (8/5): We always stay in this complex - Location, security/safety, comfortable, clean, parking availability , a carton of milk was available on arrival , great wi-fi Apparently you have to ask to get toilet paper and teabags replenished!!! No one told us this when we checked in. Why not leave a note pad so guests can write a note for the cleaner to replenish these things? Balcony door from lounge room was very very difficult to unlock/open

• Sive (4/5): Mixed Experience - Previously Enjoyed, But Lacked Care This Stay - The property is perfect Having stayed at this property multiple times before, I had higher expectations for my recent visit. Unfortunately, the lack of attention to detail and guest-centric service from the host, Peter, made this stay disappointing. Two issues stood out: 1. Key Card Hassle My key card was programmed with an incorrect checkout date, forcing me to make an inconvenient trip to the security office to resolve it. While mistakes happen, better communication or proactive fixes from management would have improved the experience. 2. Inflexible Visitor Policy A friend who dropped by to see me was turned away at the gate by Siphelele Ntetshe the security guard that was on duty because visitor requests require *12 hours’ advance notice*. While safety is understandable, the policy feels overly rigid and impractical for unplanned visits, which are common in city stays. The property has potential, but the host’s reluctance to accommodate reasonable guest needs and the operational oversights made this stay feel unwelcoming. I hope management prioritizes guest convenience in the future. For now, I’ll likely explore other options on my next trip. Noma the Room attendant was great.

• Erica (8/5): We had a fantastic time staying here. Hopefully will be back. - We loved how close to the V and A waterfront it was and how safe we felt in the property. It was beautifully decorated in a modern style. Washing machine and tumble dryer were very useful. Very minor things the tv instructions were not very clear to use. It would have been nice to have had a small welcome pack especially after a 12 hour flight some milk and water would have been appreciated.
• Erica (9/5): We have had a fantastic stay in Cape Town and the accommodation was all we expected it to be. - The fact that it was close to the V and A waterfront. We also felt very safe being that close and that it was gated. The property was lovely and modern and the decor was nice. The washing machine and tumble dryer were very useful. We made use of the gym and pools on site. Bed super comfortable. Nothing really my only comment would be that the tv instructions were not very clear. The fire alarm was very sensitive and we received a couple of calls to see if all ok (thankfully it was). It was a shame to see that some of the bed linen was looking tired (was ok tucked in but when pulled out could see it needed repairing or replacing)

Nice and quiet area. Apartment was a good size for a couple. The fridge did not work the entire 10 days so I food we bought spoiled and had to be thrown away. The bathroom drain had a very strong stinking smell.

• Hilary (9/5): Lovely, well furnished apartment within easy walking distance of many good quality shops, food stores and restaurants. - Wonderful location within easy walking distance of the Waterfront with its many shops and restaurants. The apartment was very clean, spacious and comfortable with a good sized balcony. All very well furnished and with modern appliances. Extremely secure (but friendly) front office so remember to complete your passport details for them before you arrive to facilitate your check in process! Very little and we would hope to return.

The apartment was beautiful and well equipt. Some areas could do with some repairs and touch ups, but nothing major. Would love to stay here again one day. Also would like to mention the friendly and welcoming security staff looking after the complex. Thanx to everyone involved in making our stay memorable. N/A

• Welile (4/5): Disappointed couple stay - The area and easy access to all amenities It is not cared for properly. In the kitchen. The utensils are short, there was only one fork and one whisky glass. The kitchen didn’t give me comfort that it was cleaned properly. The lounge was okay, only one TV channel that is working. The couch had a bit of an odour. There is backflow from the bathroom which makes the entire apartment smell, we had to keep the doors open. There were no towels for us, instead Elizabeth arrived the day after and drop the laundry pack on the entrance floor. We had to see for ourselves that we unpack them. It made me question if this place is serviced/cleaned daily. The water is the shower has a very low pressure. That is not water saving because you tend to bath for longer if water comes out low. If the bedroom could also get a lace curtain for privacy while getting dressed. Overall, very disappointed with 201 Gulmarn and Nox rentals and not attending to my one request for an extra fork. I will be sticking to other rental agencies in the area.

• Chris (5/5): HIDDEN COSTS, lots of admin! - The apartment was indeed upmarket, fully kitted out, right on the canal, and truly gorgeous. The location is literally perfect, and check in access was much smoother than I expected thanks to Peter from Nox. Load shedding leaves you with a couple of lamps and nothing else. Hotels have load shedding cover, much easier access, and numerous conveniences such as bars, roof deck, restaurants, breakfast, and NO HIDDEN fees. For this reason we will not return. 1) The price is NOT what is advertised! We were required to place a R10k security deposit on our card, PLUS a R450 non refundable fee for that pleasure. ELSE a R750 non refundable fee. Seriously...R10k blocked for a full month! It was simply a mechanism to force more money out of us, AFTER the NON REFUNDABLE booking was finalised. 2) I have never in my life filled out so many forms to enter a property. I have stayed at the high security Burj Al Arab in Dubai, and did not go through anything like this, despite paying R30k/night AFTER the stay. This place uses SuperHog to collect the security incl a load of forms, then they use Nox rentals for a series of other forms required to enter the marina area. All insist on ID numbers, telephone numbers, and loads of other ID theft data that Nox are storing on Google forms! It was insane! At every stage you are warned that if this is not done in time, you will not be allowed access. This HAS to cover a slew of POPIA violations. 3) Do NOT plan on having a party there. We were a couple, but had we gone with some friends, I am confident we would have been thrown out. In my mind an apartment is supposed to offer a home-from-home vibe, and hotels are more controlled. This place is more like a retirement village where one is surrounded by Karens policing the residents. Worked for us this time, but just warning others who may think an apartment has more to offer.

• Rita (9/5): Just wonderful! - Great property, spotlessly clean. it had every thing you could need for a wonderful vacation. Fabulous location being only a 10 minute max walk to the V&A waterfront. Very safe & peaceful location. Would of appreciated a later check out, say 11am?
• Lindsey (9/5): Excellent location for walking access to the activities of the V&A - The location was great for walking to food, shopping, and activities on the water, such as the Robben Island Tour or catamaran ride. The property was extremely safe with gates, security officers at several entry points. Also, the property management company was extremely helpful and responsive, even went above and beyond to help store our bags for a few hours before our late flight. The WiFi connection was not great. And although communication is great, there seemed to be so many emails from both Booking.com and the rental property for confirmation, asking for information, deposit info, etc. Also, be sure to read the fine print about the $500 deposit and the $10 processing fee for the deposit to make sure you are comfortable with that.

It has a great view over the canal and the location is ideal - safe and peaceful but only a short walk from the V & A Waterfront. The host was extremely helpful, and everything was clean and well maintained.
