• Dinnah (10/5): Definitely want to come back! - I spent a magical few days here on a solo writing retreat. The view is magnificent, the rooms are lovely, and there's a gorgeous living room for guests (with an incredible view) where I spent many quiet hours writing. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. Everything is so clean. I wish I could have stayed longer. Nothing. Prior to coming here I was at a workshop and we stayed at a hotel overlooking Copacabana beach. I fell in love with a beach exercise class there, so the only downside to staying here was that I needed to take an Uber to Copacabana beach every morning to do my gym class! But that was entirely my choice. Santa Teresa is a charming area.

La zona también es impecable, estás a pasos de la calle principal de la zona, que es muy linda de día para recorrer, y de noche se puede llegar caminando a barcitos. La ubicación realmente es perfecta. Las habitaciones super comodas, de estilo bonito, vista espectacular. Volveríamos!!! Sería un 1000 que la piscina fuera climatizada para los dias frescos y nublados como cuando estuve. En la habitación, sé que es personal porque a mi pareja le encanto tal y como estaba, pero a mi me hubiese gustado tener una opción de almohada un poco mas baja. Pero igualmente toda la habitación y colchon super comodo.

Wir haben uns rund um wohl gefühlt was wichtig ist wenn man in einem weit entfernte Land ist. Wir würden jederzeit erneut kommen. Ich denke in Rio gibt es wenig Hotels die bei Gertrudes mithalten können. Es war wunderbar.

The breakfast was amazing, the room was lovely and light and airy with the most amazing view of the city. We loved the pool and the honesty bar. The team were very helpful and gave us lots of lovely tips. The local area felt safe and there was lots of great places to explore. we booked a room with a shared bathroom but even that was fine, as we never had to wait to use it.

Our room was close to the kitchen, where the breakfast was in preparation around 6 o’clock in the morning, so it was a little bit noisy, but everything they were preparing was so delicious, so I could forget about it :)

Adriana was very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed about the area. Santa Teresa is historic and very cool. The house is beautiful, very well decorated and with amazing views. • Moira (10/5): A magical place to stay. - A magical place to stay. A real gem on the slopes of Santa Teresa one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Rio. The hotel, was an old family home with Art Deco details, is full of objects and intriguing decorations beautifully curated by Adriana the owner. The beautiful breakfast room, the general sitting room overlook the sloping garden/ pool and view over the bay to the Sugar Loaf mountain, just perfect to sit, relax (as is the garden round the swimming pool). Great breakfast with eggs made to order, delicious fruit fools, cakes, and lots of delicacies, that you can see being made in the kitchen. Staff all very helpful and obviously enjoy the magic of the place. A short walk up hill takes you to a small area of restaurants, bars and shops. Downhill to the financial centre.

В целом место пронизано ощущением райского тихого уголка посреди шумного города. Огромное спасибо за создание такой локации! Это тот экспириенс, который мы искали и в итоге получили незабываемые впечатления и конечно же приедем с удовольствием еще раз! Единственное, что я бы хотела улучшить - это подушки очень плотные и жесткие, у всей семьи в итоге был дискомфорт в шее. Может быть добавить легкое одеяло + модернизировать душ + возможность заказать обед или ужин - и было бы идеально!

I would definitely recommend. There was so much attention placed onto detail. People working at the property were so accommodating. My flight arrived early and so I had to leave my luggage which they were very accommodating about and I also left late and they were also accommodating about me storing my luggage. They also have extra services for a small fee where you can pay a shower even after you check out.

Le personnel est au petit soin et très sympathique, les chambres sont spacieuses et les lits sont confortables, le petit déjeuner est très bon et la vue depuis le jardin est incroyable ! L’hôtel se trouve à Santa Teresa qui est un chouette quartier. Nous retournerons pour sûr dans cet hôtel.

La casa es muy bonita, decorada con mucho gusto y ubicada dentro del famoso barrio bohemio de Santa Teresa, a poca distancia de numerosos restaurantes con mucho encanto. Desde la piscina, las vistas a Río de Janeiro y al Pan de Azúcar son inmejorables. La piscina está siempre limpia y el jardín es precioso, muy cuidado y lleno de colibríes y pájaros. Los desayunos son buenísimos y abundantes, con pasteles caseros deliciosos, zumos frescos, huevos, etc. Aunque leímos que había problemas para conseguir Uber o taxi, nosotras no tuvimos esa experiencia. Además, cuando lo necesitamos, la propietaria nos ayudó a llamar a uno. En general, ¡nos gustó todo! Quizás, a la hora del desayuno, nos hubiera gustado tener un poco de música bossa nova de fondo y la opción de poder acceder a la zona de la terraza exterior, en lugar de la sala y el porche interior. También notamos al personal un poco seco en alguna ocasión, lo que nos hizo sentir ligeramente incómodas.

• JESSICA (9/5): A perfect, peaceful stay in Santa Teresa - It was quirky, clean and beautifully designed. Everything was thought about - all the little details and it was a very lovely stay before a flight. Very peaceful and the garden / views are incredible. Pool is clean and perfect for a short stay. The breakfast is also 10/10! Although I felt safe, I couldn’t lock my door as the lock was jammed. I checked in around 8pm so I am guessing there was nothing they could do. Obviously the following day I saw how well protected it is, but couldn’t see in the night time hence me being slightly worried through the night. That aside, it was really beautiful and nothing bad to say.

La salle du petit déjeuner est superbe On a tout aimé ! Parfois un peu difficile d’avoir un taxi car ils ne veulent pas toujours monter dans ce quartier. Mais ça rallonge juste un peu le délai. The room was so nice with a little balcony that looks out to sea and , as others have said, the views across the town and sugarloaf are spectacular. It is in a lovely part of the city with a very safe feeling and enough restaurants to satisfy your needs. The staff are so warm and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Breakfast is fabulous with variations every day and tables with lovely views. We had arranged to go back there for the last night of our tour and couldn’t be more delighted with that decision. • cassandra (9/5): - L’emplacement dans Santa Teresa Le petit déjeuner complet Le confort de la literie 40 BRL en sus pour une douche (dans les sanitaires de la piscine du bas avec eau froide et sans porte) après le Check out. Après y avoir séjourné 2 nuits et sans avoir fait de douche le matin avant mon départ il aurait été appréciable que la douche à la piscine soit offerte

• Cornelia (10/5): Absolute Empfehlung in Santa Teresa - Tolle und ruhige Lage in Santa Teresa, superschönes, sehr gepflegtes und stilvolles altes Anwesen, gemütliches Zimmer mit sehr bequemem Bett, alles sehr sauber, klasse Frühstück, sehr freundliches Personal und charmante und herzliche Gastgeber… was will man mehr? Absolute Empfehlung!

• Lis (10/5): - Completely charming place - lovely room, and a delightful well designed tropical garden, with the odd hummingbird to see. Spectacular views over Rio and even though it is not close to a beach, the pool and lounging area are a perfect substitute for- maybe even better. Delicious breakfast served on charming crockery. Close to a very cool and lively neighbourhood.
