Guest Reviews
- Aikaterini (8/5): A home like accommodation - It felt home like, was near the main plaza and had lots of sweet pets!
- Manon (7/5): Good - The owner is friendly and helpful, he let me check in at 4am (night bus) and gave my great tips on what to do in the city and how to get around.
The accommodation was okay but not at all what I had imagined. It's a place that works for a night and is cheap, but don’t expect a cozy atmosphere, meeting people, or a cute little room. The rooms and the dorm are located just at the back of the owner's garage, which he turns into a restaurant in the morning. The terrace is really small, has no view, it's just a space at the top of the garage stairs. I had booked one of the individual cabin-style rooms, but upon arrival, the owner offered me a windowless room with two beds that took up all the space inside OR to stay in the 9-person dorm. Since no one else was there, I chose to stay in the dorm, which felt larger and more breathable.
- Cesar (10/5): Exceptional - Súper pet friendly
- Peter (7/5): It was fine, and the owner was very accommodating! -
- Tom (6/5): It was ok - Comfortable beds, garden with turtles. My bus came earlier than expected (5am) and they let me in without questions. No hot water in the shower, they’ve had some issues and the owner told me nothing about it when I came. There’s a space between the window and the wall and therefore a lot of noise from vehicles passing in the street, I could barely sleep. Doesn’t match the description on booking (tv, patio, etc). No wifi at all inside my room.
- David (7/5): Good - Good location
- Matthew (9/5): Superb - The lady who runs the place is incredibly hospitable and kind. It was a reasonable price for a very basic but private room. Wifi was good. There is a kitchen available for use. Breakfast available if you want. THE TORTOISES ARE AWESOME!
And Trujillo city centre is actually pretty. The hostel is 100 metres from a pleasant walking street that leads all the way down to the main plaza. Bathroom.
- Gonzales (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jayne (7/5): Everything great except cleanliness - The owner was very sweet and kind. I was unwell and she kept checking on me and made me dry toast and tea. She was also very helpful with information and helped me book a taxi to Huanchaco on her app which was much cheaper than Uber. The location was very good. Only a few blocks from the main square and in the middle of the historical centre. The room was comfortable for the price. And there are nice common areas with hammocks and tortoises. Unfortunately the cleanliness level wasn't very high. The bathroom was quite dirty when I arrived. The toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while and there was dirt on the floor. It was cleaned on the day I left although not properly. Overall this could be a nice place to stay if they only cleaned more thoroughly and regularly.
- Fernandez (7/5): Good -
- Ella (8/5): Comfortable bed, great location, helpful staff. - Bed was very comfortable, great location and the staff were very helpful. I had a night bus on my check out day and they let me stay late, no issues. The lounge area with hammocks was great too!
- Clara (10/5): Exceptional - An amazing place where the staff is really friendly. I was alone in the dorm when I stayed except for the two turtles ! The atmosphere is really cosy and colorful. I loved it It can be cold if you're coming during the winter period
