• Lauraxyz (9/5): Superb - We loved the apartment villa, it was huge and perfectly equiped. It was little bit far away from the beach, but we walk a lot so not a big problem for us at all. Also it was a great starting point to explore Similan islands. There was a terrace with a great view on the sunset. Several times during the night there was electricity outage, so the AC didnt work and we really struggled, it was so so hot in the room we were not even able to breath properly.

Quiet grounds set up the hill from the busy main road but still easy walking distance to shops. Nice nature ambience. Pool is very tiny. Breakfast area needed more fans. Internet in room was useless - couldn’t even load a web page. Very basic amenities in room. Overall, had the feel of a budget hotel even though the price was a bit more (at end of April). I guess you’re paying for the view and the breakfast.

Short walk to the centre of town. Road surface needs up grading. Not on the beach, but you get what you pay for!

• Wl-lau (8/5): wii be my hotel in Khao Lak. - Staff were all smiley and warm, we were upgraded to a 'Family Room' - thankful for it for not having to walk up the hill, which is compensated by the view of course. The location is alot nearer to town n convenient as I had imagined, looking on the map. can't think of any.

• Choon (1/5): Irresponsible, Unethical, Greedy Owner; Terrible Business Practice. - Nothing. Did not even get to stay. We selected this resort because it looked spacious and had a big balcony and parking was next to bungalow. We were on a scuba trip and needed the space to clean and dry our equipment. Arrived at 6 pm to be told hotel was overbooked and they arranged another accommodation nearby. No apologies, no explanation. Just take it or leave it. Drove to that 'arranged accommodation' and found it to be much smaller, and room was a long way from parking. I demanded the resort owner to call back and she couldn't explain why she allowed her own small resort to be overbooked, despite the fact that we booked 3 months in advance. She just said the arranged resort was actually much more expensive. Well, this is lame, irresponsible, unethical. I have traveled all around the world and booked more than 60 night stays per year on booking.com... never had a canceled room or overbooked problem all around the world for the past 15 years, but back in my own resident country, I witnessed such unethical, unprofessional, greedy act. Such a shame on Thailand. So I squarely said I had not even heard an apology for this, and she did apologise, albeit in a very unapologetic tone. Shame again. She then said I did not have to pay via transfer to her, and rudely hang up. Well, I wouldn't sleep for free, and transferred her the night's stay, sent her an SMS about the payment, and expectedly, no reply, no thank you. If not prepared to honour bookings, and choose to be greedy and accept higher rates and longer stay customers, then this resortj should ust remove itself from all booking platforms. Feel so ashamed that this happened in my resident country. Terrible business practice.

• Monica (9/5): Great little peaceful villa that isn't so little! - Very peaceful and secluded feeling while right above the main road. Surrounded by palm trees and forested hills with some ocean views. Facing west for the sunset. Lots of windows all around. Big bathroom and shower stall with good working shower head. Cable tv with channels in various languages, incl English. Good sized refrigerator. Late check out, noon! Nice pool and good breakfast. Wonderful patio. Room is very spacious and well stocked with useful furniture, as is the patio. Didn't like that the breakfast is 150 baht at the location, but Booking has it at 200. So, we overpaid for 2 included breakfasts for 2 mornings! Booking has checkout at 11/11:30, which is also wrong. One panel of the sliding screen door kept coming out the the track, so we had to keep putting it back in place and be extra cautious while using it. Would have been nice if the staff knew a little more English, especially when trying to explain the mispricing for breakfast since 150 is reasonable and 200 is pricier for what is offered.

• Mirela-carina (7/5): Only acceptable as no better option. - Good size room. The villas and location have a lot of potential, but are very basic and kitsch in style. The horrible toxic smell of naphthalene from the moth balls was shocking when we entered the room. We had to open all windows and sleep with them open to be able to breathe. Next day we discovered the huge moth balls hidden behind the closet and took them out. The smell remained impregnated inside the room, anyway. Expensive accommodation for what it offers and how dated it looks. The “sea view” of the villa is quite a mockery, you can hardly distinguish some sea far into the horizon, behind all the shacks and roofs of other houses. We only booked here because we had no other option since our previous accommodation was canceled and everything else was full.

Spacious extremely clean room with A/C, comfortable bed and a good selection of TV channels if you want to relax for a while. Bathroom old fashioned not a complaint everything works perfectly. We had breakfast included which was very good. Selection included a choice of of fresh fruits, eggs and bacon cooked to order, lovely muesli wilt fresh fruit and a yogurt,tea, coffee toast and juice. Nice swimming pool with loungers. A perfect quiet place yet 2 minutes walk to the main road. Lovely family and staff very helpful. Restaurant to the right on main road Grand City is good for lunch or dinner.

Breakfast included (freshly prepared muesli was nice) Lovely views from our property Property is basic but clean. Kettle didn’t work but we didn’t really need it. At breakfast I was given a frozen yogurt so couldn’t put this onto the muesli, and also had some bacon with an omelette even though I didn’t request the bacon as I don’t each red meat. Having to pay 1000 THB key deposit of which I never received back (see below) I explained to the owners the day before we were due to leave that we had to depart by 06.30am to get our transfer to the ferry at Don Sak so I could hand over the key and get my deposit and they assured me they would be there, unfortunately no one turned up and we had to leave the key on a table in their breakfast area and thus forfeited our key deposit.

Big bathroom and large bed. Will always stay here when visiting the area. I stayed here twice and the first unit had a hard bed which was a little bumpy too, but the last unit's bed was great.

Room itself was clean except that. There was a big kitchen but rather empty, not much cutlery or cooking equips other than a pot (why not a electric kettle??) I expected to cook so just was pretty disappointed about that
• Terrence (8/5): Great find on the hill. - Close to the main road area but far enough away not to be noisy. Many places to eat close by. Bed was very comfortable and the breakfast provided was very good. The pool area was simple but well kept. It’s called Hillside Villas and the hike back up to your villa after a big meal at a local eatery on the main road takes a bit of effort.
• Zholbarys (10/5): Tippity-top of Khao-lak - An Extremely Helpful staff. The location is pitch perfect for a full-time jungle getaway. Breakfasts were on point. And of course the value was one of the best in Nang thong There is a bit of distance to the beach. But,we were into having a lovely walk.

Very clean and everything works great. Huge bathroom with separate huge shower. Delicious breakfast options with generous portions. In the middle of town so you can walk to everything. So peaceful and quiet as it is not on the main road. Unless u want to be directly on the beach then stay here. It's just a short walk to the beach. There is also a clean pool to enjoy. Everything is great!!!

Powerful shower with hot water, TV, kettle, large balcony and comfortable bed with good bedding. location is good for the main road with lots of restaurants etc and it’s not toooo far from the beach, probably 15/20 min walk but we had scooters. One of the best rooms we’ve had across Thailand! Only thing that I was really disappointed by was the breakfast, if you eat meat you’re fine, but if you are veggie or vegan they only have one option which is fried rice and veggies. Out of 4 mornings they only had this available twice, not really acceptable. Also running out of bread one morning… The food was tasty though so just stock issues! Also the swimming pool isn’t very big but still good they have one 😊

When asked why not told in advance she said she forgot! Stayed here 3 years ago and no problem hence rebooking. She took us to a friend's property which was 5km away and no restaurants nearby and long walk to beach. Not good customer relations.... As above. Double booked.

Room serviced everyday and extra beach towels and umbrellas provided. Nice pool. Pillows are bit firm for my liking.

Make sure you book taxis with them if you want transfer from the airport, great value. Simple room but really great for the price. Close enough to the main road to walk and far enough to be quiet :) the pool is a nice addition on warm days!
• Donster (10/5): Don't look any further - You already found the perfect spot!! - The perfect spot in Khao Lak. Beautifully located on the top of a hill with a great view onto the sea and yet very close to the main road and the ocean. The buildings next to that road swallow all noise, so you can perfectly relax in peace and enjoy the spacious and stylish bungalows! The staff is super friendly, everything is maintained very well and if there should ever occur a problem, they will definitely fix it straight away. I don't know what the future brings, I just know, whenever I get back to Khao Lak this will be my home again!!! Everything was just awesome!
