Guest Reviews
- David (6/5): - There are generators outside room so no sleep as on all night and light going on and off spoke in morning to another guest and they had no sleep due to above issue
- Russell (10/5): Excellent value for money - Plenty of free parking. Bar welcoming for a weary traveller. Friendly, quick service at dinner. Food exceptional, and very reasonably priced. Room spacious, but tired. No breakfast available.
- DAVID (6/5): - There was a warm welcome from the staff, who were also very helpful at breakfast, which was very good value. The room was pleasantly decorated, the bed comfortable and the shower was very good. On the negative side (and the staff could not have helped this) the room was over the beer cellar cooling plant which hummed loudly and vibrated all night, with one item much noisier cutting in and out periodocically at a much higher volume. Other rooms may not be so afflicted. A shame, as it was fundamentally a decent stay, just not much sleep.
- Robin (10/5): - As we had a full day on Friday, leaving home 5-am.visiting varios towns en-route,our last visit of the day was Burton--on --Trent ,to have an overdue meal before making our way to The Beeches . We were very pleased to be shown to our room. It was lovely, nice & clean & very comfortable, beds nice also.
Once settled in wanted to relax just for a little while ,& check something on the TV. but unfortunately unable to get it to work !!
With the help of one of your member of staff he was able to check the remote for us
& work out maybe the batteries needed changing ,& successfully it worked for us. Alas we watched what we wanted đ,& to be fair we were more than ready to turn in & tuck down for the night.
The wedding Service was at 11-30 am so once up & about continued to get ready into Our Outfits .!! As we didnt think to check if our booking Included Breakfast ,we decided to make our way into town ,as breakfast was at 9ock, & we wanted to go earlier to park near the Church . Anyway all was well.
We had a lovely day ,the Wedding was wonderful, the Venue was amazing ,everyone enjoyed themselves...a great family day.
We made our move to say our Farewells , trying to find them in the Blaring Disco Music , which was at full pelt ,& left about 10ock which was good for Us Old Folk!!!
We returned to You at The Beeches safely, parked up & was more than thankful to make our way to our room.
I must say the shower was very good & the towels lovely. . Most welcome to have the kettle
- Arn (10/5): - Happy staff , clean throughout, sumptuous breakfast delivered . Quite pleased.
- David (8/5): - Location ideal for a walk into Ashby. The bar shut quite early, as we were expecting it to be open when we returned
- Marie (10/5): - Top class welcome and staff were all efficient. Room was spotless. Sunday carvery awesome. Thank you for an amazing stayđđ
- suzette (10/5): - A lovely room very new and very clean. Staff amazing. Zoe couldnât do enough to help our stay with her fantastic. I highly recommend this venue.
- Deborah (4/5): Unsatisfactory - No main entrance to check in had to check in through a very busy restaurant . Entrance to the accommodation is a side door at the end of the building so once checked in had to go outside as no main entrance to the restaurant.
Stair way to rooms carpet extremely dirty infact black , room was tiny and not that clean , bathroom wasnât clean, a very strong smell of sewage coming from the drains and hair left in shower tray . Bed was comfortable. Room only suitable for solo traveler .
All in all it was a very unsatisfied stay , never again .
- Roshan (6/5): More attention to detail required. - Stayed here recently and had an 'ok-ish' experience. The room was small but comfortable, including a large tv, kettle, toiletries, etc. There are areas which need to be improved however (photos were taken). These include... tv remote had many buttons which did not work, the kettle was so large that it could only be part-filled in the sink, the bathroom had an eggy smell, there was zero hot water coming from the bathroom basin, there was a lot of dust on the table where the kettle was, there was a water leak in the cabinet under the bathroom basin.
The staff member who showed me to my room was great, and the continental breakfast was pleasant also.
More attention to detail is required due to the issues mentioned above.
- Mark (10/5): - good take away breakfast, comfortable room, quiet, good parking, would like to stay again thank you
- Melanie (10/5): Comfy beds - Lovely clean room , nice idea for breakfast put outside room evening ideas for early risers. Lovely comfy bed . Ideas for short stay
- James (2/5): - Itâs cheap and you get what you pay for. Knackered mattress, tired furniture but the worst thing was a massive air con unit for the pub mounted on the outside wall that ran very noisily all night. Even heavy duty ear plugs couldnât stop the noise or vibration
- Paul (6/5): Noisy, tired poorly designed - Room 4 Was promised very noisy kitchen extractor would be off at 9, I returned from a family do at 12.30am and still on, went off 1am. Oh you wont hear the refrigerator - you do although its not so loud. Bathroom extractor noisy too!
Carpet good qualit but needs a good hoover and to be refitted in places.
Bathroom no surfaces towel rails and lightswitch wrong side of door.
MFI wardrobe falling to bits. Bed average at best.
Abysmal "continental" breakfast left at the door.
Goods ... room size, bedding shower towels.
- jamie (10/5): - It was a very nice experience, staff were accommodating and happy to help. Room was nice and spacious
- June (4/5): - We had an overnight stay on New Years Eve as we were visiting family.
Our room was tiny. Mediocre at best. The entrance at the back which we used was
basic and unappealing with dirty carpet on the stairs.
When we checked in we were told there would be a continental breakfast left outside our room. There wasnt.
Disappointing on the whole.
- Peter (10/5): - Rooms 4 & 5 are subject to constant mechanical or pump noise. Despite what staff say, it does NOT stop.
- john (10/5): - nice place, few pints and a meal after a very long journey.
- Frances (10/5): - Good location for our visit to Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Wood. The room was small but fine for one night. We had booked for dinner expecting to have the Carvery but hadnât been told it finished at 6pm, shame as it smelt delicious!
- Glen (8/5): - Room was fab.
Fans a bit noisy.
No food available during my stay.
- GEOFFREY (2/5): never again - food very good
Pub atmosphere very good for family but noisy
carpets on stairs threadbare and dirty
room carpet very badly stained towels only small hand ones and one dirty and unusable
Room dirty and very dated
no service during 2 day stay no aircon or heater controlls
Brekfast was very odd! went elsewhere for one.
glad to leave
- Glynis (10/5): - The management team are excellent and this showed in the care and service towards us. The staff are happy and attentive with all the customers. The food is exceptional and allergies are catered for diligently. We would recommend this place to friends and will be returning when we are in the area. Many thanks
- Emma (10/5): - A warm welcome. Lovely breakfast delivered to the door
- Tracy (2/5): Awful room - Awful. No soap. No remote for TV. Rude staff. Shower filthy, had to go home to shower. Rubbush behind cupboards.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Nice room, number 5 slightly noisy being above a boiler room. Nice breakfast buffet from 9am, big full english.
- Randy (8/5): Visit granddaughter - Just one night and breakfast
- Lesley (8/5): - Short walk into Historic town of Ashby for shops, food and drink.
Staff very friendly. Carried our bags to the 1st floor room.
Breakfast very tasty.
- CHRISTOPHER (10/5): Fantastic B&B, Will be returning - Fantastic B&B, staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean with wonderful bathrooms including double shower. There are some room for improvements such as cleaning the vent above the shower, descaling the kettle in the room and improve the beds as the right hand side one (Room 4) was not as comfortable. Highly reccomend and will be staying again for sure
- Donna (10/5): The Beeches a great choice! - Clean comfortable brilliantly located Id definately use it again if need to stay in or near Ashby. Friendly helpful staff. Sadly food had finished as I finished work very late but they would have arranged something with the Chef had I have wanted. Cute breakfast basket too & great for an early work start.
- James (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Hotel was lovely. Nice room and a fantastic restaurant for an evening meal.
- Paul (8/5): Cheap and chearful - Was easy to park . Staff easy going was cheap and cheerful .
Ok for a one night stop over.
- Rob (8/5): - Nice hotel, I had a twin room. Comfortable, decent size room , basic but good value . Only negatives were no shampoo or shower gel provided and whenever I moved in the bed the headboard pounded against the wall, should point
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No information was given to us regarding check out and there wasnât anyone in the building at what we thought was check out time. There also wasnât any breakfast available as the pub/restaurant was also closed.
I just had to leave the key in the door of the hotel room and hope for the best.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very good value for money, although it was advertised as B and B there was no breakfast available. There was, however, a very nice cafe next door. Perhaps a fan for those really hot nights Would be a nice idea.
- Karen (6/5): - Nice place. Comfy room. Only downside was we went down for breakfast and the place was closed. Would advise you take your own in these current times. As it was a Sunday morning there was nowhere open to eat anything.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No complaints about the cleanliness or condition of the room, however there were no showering products available which meant I ended up having a shower using hand soap. Not ideal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): 1 night stay - Really friendly staff & within easy walking distance of the town itself. No shower gel or toiletries provided in the room so bring your own unless you want to shower with handwash. Quality breakfast only downside was the 5am glass bottle collection outside the accommodation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff, excellent service - excellent food - can't fault anything.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Rooms quite dated..and small.very noisy from aircon unit outside window
- Imtiaz (8/5): Polite staff and spacious room - cold - Great customer service and polite staff. Room is spacious but cold and breakfast served from 8am - too late for me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent all round, great breakfast too. Would recommend
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean, but very small, we had asked for a double bed but was twin. Opposite our room was a room piled high with dirty laundry a health and fire risk. Breakfast was good, pity there was always a person vacuuming while we were earing
- Paul (10/5): - The room was perfect and well organised,itâs a nice pub as well and good value for money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy book in, nice room, door sticky good food nice staff
- Verified traveler (6/5): - + Restaurant good.
+ Staff helpful & friendly but at times understaffed.
- Although a budget hotel the bathroom was cramped with a far too small hand basin.
- No seats in room.
- Hotel needs to keep a spare TV remote. Ours was defunct.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and spacious rooms and shower area.Nothing bad to say about it. Would use them again no probs.
- Michael (6/5): - Ok for the price.
Modern shower.
Rooms could be cleaner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very welcoming , friendly and very helpfull, great staff and an excellant breakfast. Plenty to eat was a truly wonderfull experience .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a very pleasant venue, convenient to the town. We arrived on Bank Holiday Monday and they were very busy the staff were very efficient and professional to our arrival.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the service, location and facilities were all outstanding. You could not fault a thing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely stay. Would return and recommend. Staff were helpful. Clean rooms lovely breakfast.
- Valerie (8/5): The Beeches Hotal VERY GOOD - The room was clean and tidy, just wish the bed was bigger only use to sleeping I king size at home.
Meals very good both morning and evening, staff very nice and attentive, will stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Food really nice. The staff very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms spacious and clean but there is an issue with noise not from road but as a result of combining a restaurant with a b&b.
I would stay here again but would have to be a quieter room.
Very hard to find any staff to speak to in morning
- John (10/5): Excellent - Excellent food and friendly helpful staff.
- graeme (8/5): - Very comfortable accommodation
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No problem but breakfast is quite late starting and the service is slow.
- Tom (10/5): - Decent Pub/Restaurant with separate entrance for rooms. Nice standard of rooms but ensuite was extremely small, other than that clean and comfortable.
