• Sean (8/5): Even though the hotel is older and could use updates, I'd recommend it to others. - The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There are some things that need to be updated. The faucet on the hot tub and shower was wonky. The bathroom door did not latch.

• DeShaundria (10/5): I stay in the same jacuzzi suite once a year when I visit Baton Rouge… the staff is awesome and the room is very clean… - It’s quiet and peaceful and very comfortable… very reasonable price… this has been our stay once a year for the past four years now… will not stay any other place The property and staff are awesome… my only problem was not being able to stay longer.. lol

• Favre (6/5): Too much for too little - Much older rooms, faint musty smell Price to ammenity ratio was to high for this older property. I would have been okay in the $60-$70 range for this property. At $90+ it was to costly for the age of the property and furnishings.

• Johan (10/5): My stay at the Shades was Superb for all four nights!!!!! - The location was perfect with a variety of eating venues close by. There was easy access to the interstate and main roads on which a variety of stores and eating venues were available. Parking was very easy and internet was easy to get. The room was super clean as well as all bath(room) and sink facilities. I really enjoyed my first stay there of four days!!!!Super comfortable bed and nice-sized couch in the room. I recommend that a simple stand (like they have in some other motels with strips of materials attached to two sides of a low stand) be bought for each room. to place suitcases on .It made it difficult to take things out of the suitcase placed on the floor. One cannot always put a suitcase on the bed due to medical reasons.

• Audrey (2/5): - Saturday i ask the maid for some clean towels. She left the the female owner. Came back to the room and close the door no clean towels. Sunday check out was at eleven o'clock. 10:10 the female owner didn't knock open the door told me it was check out. I told her it wasn't eleven plus i was waiting on my car to come. And it was 10:16 a.m. and she took the key. Its wasn't nice at all. Plus i made my reservation it to paid when i made there Friday. They had already changed Friday on my card before i got there. Then i had two paid the second day before i got the key it was $97 and some changes but gave 100.00 and never got back the 2.80. Will never go back there again. Was going to make reservation for September while i was there but treatment no way.

The air conditioner didn't cool the room very well. There was a 1/2 inch gap at the bottom of the door because the door molding was missing. Will not stay there ever again.

Especially, to keep leftovers or to store groceries. The internet is decent. Overall a 8/10. There was a smell but I think that is from the cleaners they use or that previous tenants have smoked and that is hard to clean/get out of the walls.

• Arthur (6/5): Accommodation and Comfort - There was no iron or ironing board to press my clothes so that’s the number one no no for me... Bed was not comfortable at all and the air unit was loud out of the ordinary.
• Jason (2/5): Worst experience - This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a motel I stay in motels close to 300 days a year because I travel for work. The lights in the bathroom didn't work and as I was showering the shower curtain rod fell off and I had to catch it. I laid down to go to sleep and people started barbecuing and partying in the parking lot outside my door. I called the office five times from 10 to 3 in the morning trying to get help in quieting them down. The next morning when I spoke to the manager about the problem he called me a liar and told me none of that happened wow.
