• Daniela (9/5): Great value for the price - Really enjoyed my stay, the room was spacious and had a big desk, comfortable bed and pillows. Can't comment on the kitchen much as I didn't cook anything but I loved that there was free water at all times, it was really nice not having to buy plastic bottles. Bathroom was also spacious and kept clean, it only happened two times that it was occupied when I wanted to use it so I just went to another floor. Staff was very nice and explained everything well. It's a bit of a walk to Las Canteras but there is a smaller beach nearby.

• Carmem (5/5): Super noisy!! - The location is the best thing about this property. It’s easy travelling by bus and it’s well connected with the rest of the island. There are shops and restaurants with reasonable prices all around the hostel and It’s a short walk to Las Canteras beach. I wouldn’t recommend to stay many nights. Please be aware that depending on your room, sleeping will be very challenging. I stayed in a room just next to the toilet and the kitchen and every time someone would shower, there was a horrendous noise coming from the boiler. People would shower in the middle of the night and very early in the morning and it was really easy to wake up to that, alongside with people cooking in the middle of the night. Very thin walls. There was a night that a couple kept arguing out loud and slamming doors until 6 am and the rooftop would be going til late every night. There wasn’t no sense of reception and I had to chase a guy to give me my keys when I arrive, and he didn’t seem bother at all about ignoring me. I just got to know which was my room and that’s it. I don’t know if was particularly unlucky but I didn’t get a good experience.

• Germo (4/5): Disappointing - Room was clean and okay but still noisy and not that great location. Weird check in, i wrote many times that i am coming and told specific time. I was in front of the house waiting and no one replyd anymore and didnt come down for door. I kindly asked maybe we can talk in whatsapp or somewhere where i can reach them fast. Finally i called the number in booking and someone answered in spanish and didnt understand that i have booking and i am waiting. In the end i got in the room but not a pleasent way to treat your guest. The bahtroom was always occupied. Smallest kitchen i have ever seen. Didnt liked it ar all.

I would have liked the toilet to be separate from the shower unit. This would have helped to reduce the queuing for the facilities.

• Leonardo (8/5): Very good option to stay in downtown. 24/7 all areas clean - I never been in a hostel with this kind of cleanliness. Everything was clean all the times. Very confy room. Very nice staff (Lili is so helpfully). Wifi works very well. Also, Very nice to have all day free drinking water, coffee and teas. Super good point, thabks for that! Everythink was perfect.

Lo unico malo en mi experiencia es que mi habitacion se encontraba en la planta 3 y en la planta 4 esta la terraza y 2 de los 4 dias que estuve alguien se levantaba antes de las 6 am y subia a la planta 4 y hacian mucho ruido moviendo cosas y mi habitacion estaba debajo, asi que eso provocaba que me despertara temprano en mis vacaciones.

• Mateusz (9/5): overall worth it, central location, great hosts & amenities, but noisy surroundings and no air con. - - the place was clean, being cleaned every day / every second day. there was a jug of non-tap water refilled daily, which means you don't have to worry about buying tons of water bottles - it had all the necessary amenities, including an equipped kitchen and bathroom - both on each floor (1 floor had 3 rooms) - the host was friendly and helpful, allowed us to check in earlier and store our luggage before our room was ready - the location is very good, right next to Mercadona and a local market, as well as a shopping centre 20-minute walk to cheap parking (Aparcamiento del Puerto, 5€/24h) - the rooftop terrace is really nice if you want to have lunch in the morning or relax in the evening - unfortunately, there was no air conditioning in the rooms or elsewhere - the central location, while being convenient, at the same time meant there was a lot of noise coming from the street, we were unlucky in that there was also some roadwork/renovation going on and it got noisy in the morning, and because there was no AC we had to leave our window open in the night - leaving a 9.0 because overall we felt the place is really worth the money, having said that we hope the owners will consider installing some form of air conditioning in the rooms

• Michael (10/5): Just go here. - Everything great. I have styed in almost all the cheaper places - if you want a private room nothing beats this. If it has availability just go here. Close to Alcaravanas beach, which is not so good, but only a 10 minute walk to the better beach.
• Rose (8/5): Nice, clean room - I liked that I didn't have to pay a lot for the room and that the building was close to the main quarter and around 15 min on foot from the walk along the beach. The bathroom and the kitchen were very clean! Loved that! The bed was very small. Just put a bigger bed in there. The room had a view in the patio - so no real view. I will always place that as something negative, even for Spain, sorry. You can hear people showering, snorting, snoring, screaming...you get my gist.

• Billy (10/5): City Rooms ticks all the boxes , staff super helpful , quite and clean place - Eber was very helpful with local information and could speak fluent English which was a bonus ,when I needed directions and information regarding local things he was ever so helpful ,also the cleanliness of the building was very good , bed linen and towels all fresh and anything I asked Eber was on hand , if I am by myself again I shall return Nothing it served its purpose ,I could sleep in clean room and shower etc and cook if I wanted to ,lots of fresh water and toiletries provided , value for money

I didn't use but nice to know,there in kitchen coffee,tea,water available and bonus water bottle in room as well. Can hear any noise outside room and please make sure bed sets are 100% clean.
• Baldpacker (8/5): Great location and value! - Great location and friendly staff. We didn't use the terrace much but the kitchen was great for the occasional breakfast or snack and it was clean. Great value! One night it was super noisy from drunks yelling from a nearby bar. I can't blame the hostel for that but the location does seem to be frequented by the working class who it seems get a little feisty after a few drinks. I used a clothes hanger to close the window in the stairwell at night which helped block the noise.
• Craig (9/5): Wonderful - Staff are wonderful Eber/Elber (sorry for spelling!) was extremely helpful and gave me his number should I need anything during the stay. Rooms are clean, comfortable and the location is great for Las Palmas (beaches restaurants shops etc all short walk) and for links to the rest of the island. Great value for money. Only minor thing to consider is there is a bar next door that is open late, so there can be some noise, but not disruptive while staying there.

The furniture on the terrace has seen better days but it is still a nice place to hang out for a bit.

Upon arrival, the staff at City Room were welcoming and attentive, setting a positive tone for my stay. The room itself, while not overly luxurious, provided a comfortable and functional space. The affordability of the accommodation was a definite highlight, making it a practical option for budget-conscious. City Room staff remained friendly and responsive, creating a welcoming environment. With some attention to cleanliness details, City Room has the potential to offer an even more satisfying stay for future guests. I appreciate the affordability of the accommodation and hope that my feedback contributes to ongoing improvements at City Room. However, my experience was marred by a notable issue – the lack of regular cleaning and towel change during my five-day stay. This oversight diminished the overall cleanliness and impacted my comfort. It is my sincere hope that City Room can address this aspect to ensure a more consistently pleasant experience for guests.
