Guest Reviews
- Laura (2/5): Not ideal - Great hotel, convenient for gigs in Kingussie. Stayed here twice, booked a third stay during valentine’s weekend – because they would’ve had a loyal customer in me. They’ve just cancelled, meaning I won’t be refunded for other aspects of my upcoming trip such as transport. All other accommodation is now unaffordable and they haven’t even bothered to offer an alternative. Not ideal, but people really ought to be aware.
I notice they still have plenty of rooms available at a higher price for that weekend, though. Lovely.
- Tiffany (10/5): - The rooms were spacious and clean. I didn't prefer to book a hotel with a shared bathroom, but here it was no problem. The bathroom was spacious, clean, near to the room, and no problem with availability. The hotel manager was friendly and on street parking was ample and convenient.
- Rebecka (10/5): - Nice little hotel close to the Cairngorms. The staff was extremely helpful and the local bar inside the hotel has very laid back feel.
- Brigitte (6/5): - personal not frendly, room very small and cleanliness was questionnable. no breakfast possibility and no restaurant.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great room, comfy bed and the staff are nice and helpful.
- Silvia (10/5): - Nice lodging with super nice staff. Good location for hiking in area
- EBrad (8/5): Quaint hotel - Good location in a quiet town. The beds were comfortable with nice linens. On street parking in the middle of town. Convenient pub downstairs.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great night, great people
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room was dirty and had a horrible smell. Staff were friendly and the location is great, but the cleaning needs significant improvement to want to spend any time there.
- Sarah (8/5): - Perfect for the price!
- charles (4/5): - The whole set up was poor
- Alexander (8/5): Weekend Away - Struggled to find affordable accommodation in the area at such notice until I came across the OYO Braeriach Hotel. It was great value for money. Stayed two nights as was site seeing and would do so again in the future. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Facilities were clean and comfortable. Paid extra for a cooked breakfast both mornings of my stay but it was worth the extra money spent.
- Benjamin (10/5): - The gentleman in the pub was awesome and very friendly. Perfect place to stay in a lovely village
- Paul (8/5): Under new management - Friendly welcome. Host said they had only arrived two days previous. Place is in need of a good spring clean, which I'm sure is high on the list, but otherwise fine. Room was good. Thin walls. Noisy if the wrong group are staying.
- Jordan (10/5): Nous recommandons - Excellent accueil.
Les propriétaires sont adorables et très dog friendly. Nous recommandons aussi le bar de l'hôtel qui est convivial.
- Anne (8/5): - Chambre très propre mais petite.
Personnel très courtois et serviable
- Jimmy (6/5): - Noisy
- Filipa (10/5): - Lovely pub in the centre of the Scottish Highlands
- William (10/5): Good service and friendly host - Host was friendly and as on business it suited my needs
- Emma (10/5): Comfortable great stay - I'd walked Braeriach and I was bootsore. The bath was so welcome! A really comfortable sleep, clean everything and lovely team.
- Colin (8/5): - Set in the lovely village of Newtonmore 😊
- Klaas (6/5): Meh... - No breakfast, no food in the evening (and restaurant choice in the town also not very good), and spring sticking out from mattress. Relatively good price for the area but overall not that great
- Friederike (6/5): - Das Zimmer war winzig klein und es gab weder einen Schrank noch Kleiderbügel. Entgegen der Info auf der Homepage wurde kein Frühstück angeboten.
- Colin (10/5): Excellent and peaceful! - Very comfortable quiet room. Shared facilities were spotless clean. Red hot shower!
No food here though. Not doing breakfasts etc.
- Angela (8/5): - We had a very comfortable stay here the hotel is very clean and the staff are really friendly however there is no longer a car park as its now a beer garden and they no longer serve food due to covid restrictions
- Brian (8/5): Expected a hostel, got a hotel! - A fantastic room for me and my mate. Did a walking trip so just needed a place to crash. Room was modern, clean and equipped as you'd expect. Would definitely stay again.
- MR ROBIN A (6/5): - Total lack of parking, on street only, lucky to find spot within 500 yards.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice welcome and room was spacious with all essentials provided.
Very dog friendly.
Unfortunately no meals were provided during my stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff were all very friendly and welcoming - we booked for bed and breakfast but there was no breakfast - but comfortable night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hogmany get away - nice, clean and friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I didn't end up going, tried to call to cancel by calling the number ended up connected to an Indian call centre and couldn't cancel as they were unable to find my reservation
- Clare (8/5): Very welcoming and dog-friendly - My son and I stayed at the Braeriach Hotel on our way North to a family reunion. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and welcomed us and our three dogs, which was much appreciated as not all hotels reported as being "pet friendly" are always so accommodating. The landlord was even kind enough to direct us to a local dog walk.
The room was pleasant and clean. However, it was located right above the bar, which was busy on a Friday night for a Karaoke night. It did not bother us too much, but it should be noted that the enthusiastic singing was audible in the room
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No parking facilities also no breakfast included in the price £89 its a lot for one night!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Acceptable but were expecting more, some details missing (for example no spoons with cups for Thea in the room).
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This is a PUB with rooms above, which are small and inadequate for travellers eg; no wardrobe, just 4 hooks on a wall!
Toilets that didn't flush, much to the chagrin of the owner.
No mention of a loud KARAOKE when we booked in, especially as our room was directly above. It finished just after midnight.
Breakfast is additional at £10 per head.
Never again, better B&B's available.
- Bill (10/5): - I loved that the bar was a locals bar and not a tourist bar. We met many nice people there and played pool with them. That made the experience memorable!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely homely feel and the staff are very family friendly and the food is great. The rooms are clean and cosy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Avoid Friday night it’s karaoke night...
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very dated and a little run down. Was adequate for one night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is an older hotel remodeled, but clean. Staff at hotel was extremely helpful and went out of way to help you. Thank You
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Schönes Örtchen, nettes Hotel, freundliches Personal und sehr gutes Frühstück.
