Room 13 is beautiful, but does have a detached bathroom. We were fine with it and never ran into anyone when we left our room, but may not be for everyone!

As an older structure, you acknowledge that it won’t have all of your modern/ fancy conveniences of new facilities. Staff was over and above courteous and helpful. The breakfast meals were wonderful selections (sweet or savory), and delicious. As a couple we chose one of each, and shared…perfect!

Ad accoglierci c’è stata Anita, una ragazza molto gentile e premurosa che ci ha fatto subito sentire a casa. Le stanze erano perfettamente curate e la colazione ottima. Ringraziamo tutto lo staff e il proprietario per la fantastica accoglienza e la premura nel farci sentire come se fossimo ospiti di amici. Speriamo di rivederci presto. Alessia e Francesco

- Heather (10/5): Quintessential historic Maine Inn with friendly staff and nice extras. - This beautifully restored historic home was the perfect home base for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It was well appointed with amenities and a delicious full breakfast each morning plus snacks in the afternoons. The staff were all extremely friendly and full of fun facts about the property and the area.

- Suzanne (10/5): - The Inn is just a short drive out of Bar Harbor. It's a beautiful old building that is well kept. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts are outstanding and varied! Only thing to watch is if you are on the 3rd floor. There is no elevator and the stairs are very steep and narrow. If you cannot carry your luggage, this might be a problem for you. Otherwise, wonderful stay and wonderful property.

Free coffee & tea (and some sweets offered) in lobby area is great. Breakfast was individually made and beautiful, they accommodated my food specificities the second day - wonderful. Staff were all super friendly, especially the owner is very warm and kind and brings a nice atmosphere taking care of so many things there! My kind room was embraced by beautiful trees, I liked sitting there and just looking at it (even or especially in the rain) Place was closer to (busy) road then I thought, and my room on ground floor had a portion of the breakfast room & lounge right outside, so it was not as quiet as I had hoped for. Some amenities / quality of things & items at Inn‘s similarly priced are a little more amazing, so in hindsight value for money was not outstanding…

- Partha (10/5): Beautiful Place, Better Staff! - We really enjoyed our two-night stay here at the Cleftstone Inn - in particular, a big shout-out to the staff, Anita, Marina, and Steffen. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about the Bar Harbor area for restaurants and sightseeing recommendations. Although a short stay for us, we highly recommend staying here if you're going to Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park!

- Carol (10/5): Very much recommend. A wonderfully appointed Inn and the hospitality made it for us! - Hospitality! A beautifully renovated inn, the management and staff very pleasant and helpful; breakfast amazing. Our well decorated room made you feel at home with a very comfortable king bed. A little nook with coffee, tea, water and snacks available. A walk away from where a shuttle bus picks you up, much better than being in the center of Bar Harbor trying to find parking and dealing with the hubbub of so many tourists. The only thing we did not like was our room was on the 1st floor and faced the parking lot, not the issue as it was quiet, but I didn’t feel the curtain in the bathroom gave us a privacy feeling a bathroom should have, hopefully a shade will be added. Also, not a dislike, but on our visit there was no place to just sit outside and enjoy the evening. They’re currently working on a seating area with a fire pit. So it gives us a reason to return 😁

- Dara (8/5): Nice but room dependent - Staff were lovely. Quaint. Accommodating when dates changed which was very appreciated. Enjoyed having own entrance. We were in #6 and the room itself is comfortable and large however we could hear everything above us and the person staying above us was a poor sleeper therefore we both were too. The bathroom is also directly next to a dining room meaning you can be using the toilet and hear someone’s conversation. For the price per night, this felt a bit on the outrageous side.

- Kyle (6/5): Met our need of having somewhere to stay in Bar Harbor, but failed to thrill us. - Nice looking building. Located close to the center of Bar Harbor which is nice. Cozy room. Room service was on an ask only basis which was made difficult since there wasn't someone available 24x7. This was unexpected for the cost. Had several spiders in the room. Dead mouse outside the building one morning. A/C unit was difficult to configure to keep the room comfortable. The bed was very uncomfortable. Toilet seat was practically falling off. Absolutely no place to hang wet towels.

Every person who works here has a smiling face, the woman even called me to make sure I was ok because I hadn’t checked in by 7:45 PM (though the check-in is open till 10 PM). This made me smile after for a long day in the car, and started off my stay on a good foot. Breakfast was yummy, my room was perfect, a really great night sleep. I appreciate the windows opened in the hotel, I would choose my room again in a heartbeat (9) with the only downside being the TV should really be on a swivel as it’s awkwardly mounted flat above a fireplace I would go here in a heartbeat again, I will recommend it to my family

Breakfast each morning was a delight, fresh, flavorful, and served with genuine hospitality. The location was ideal for exploring Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor, yet wonderfully peaceful at night. Exceptional service from both the host and waitstaff during the gourmet breakfast. VERY comfortable bed that you could be in all day and obviously all night. Delicious breakfast and all day snacks.

The AC in my room was very noisy. I didn't ue it overnight because of the noise, and I kept the windows open, but there was noise from the road.

- Melissa (10/5): Loved it! - We loved our stay at the Clefstone! The staff was so kind, helpful, and available for anything you might need. We loved the fresh afternoon snacks after coming back from hiking each day and fresh coffee in the morning. We stayed in room #1 and it was the perfect size with a very comfy bed. Would love to stay here again!
- Ethan (10/5): - Staff was very friendly, rooms are clean, and a/c is cold. Location is a quick 5 min drive from the main harbor area. My car got attacked by seagulls when parked at the harbor and the receptionist kindly let me use a hose to wash off my car before the droppings dried.
- Ella (10/5): Perfect spot for exploring Acadia! - The property was in a perfect spot; about 7 minutes from Acadia National Park and 5 minutes from Main Street, where you can walk by the ocean, grab food at great restaurants, and check out local shops. The rooms were super clean and nicely decorated, and the staff was amazing; really kind and helpful. Breakfast was such a nice surprise; it felt like eating at a restaurant, with two separate dining rooms that were both cozy and had this cool Victorian-style vibe. Breakfast starts a little later (around 8:00 AM) but it’s not a big deal if you’re heading to the park; the trails weren’t too crowded after we ate. The property has that charming old-house feel with hardwood floors and a bit of creaking here and there, so you can hear people walking or opening doors. But honestly, everyone during our stay was super quiet and respectful, so it wasn’t a problem at all.

The property is just majestic to look at. Our room was luxurious…. The bed, the bathroom was large and rich. Our view was spectacular. Nothing. Everything was perfect for us.
- Amina (10/5): - My husband and I stumbled upon this lovely B&B after roughing it in the Acadia woods. It was a welcome respite. Thoughtfully appointee rooms, delicious breakfast and incredible staff. We enjoyed chatting with Steffan and learning about the history of the Inn. Truly a charming place. It was so charming we decided to stay a 2nd night (totally impromptu). What a special place!

- Rogers (10/5): Unexpected low price for a unique stay on a summer weekend - Very unique rooms and third floor balcony view is breathtaking. The staff here at check-in was so welcoming and gave a tour before showing us to our room. Perfect place for a couple to enjoy a last minute weekend trip without spending too much money. Great price for very unique and comfortable inn. Snacks, tea, and hot chocolate available in common area but no coffee besides morning/breakfast. So many other great things that I really wouldn’t say I didn’t like it, I just would have liked the option.

- Stephanie (10/5): Absolutely charming bed and breakfast! - It was within a nice walk to downtown food and shops. The property is absolutely gorgeous!!! Our room was stunning! The staff is very friendly and very helpful! The parking is easy and right up front to the property! I felt like I was staying in a room from white lotus! :) We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!!! We would definitely book here again! There was nothing we did not like!
