Guest Reviews
- Julie-Anne (9/5): -
- Jackie (10/5): Very comfortable - Very cosy and comfortable
- Lakei (10/5): Nice little family cabin - Beautifully clean and convenient to town, friendly staff
- Lisa (10/5): - The friendliness of the owner who was helpful and the room was perfect for what i needed.
- Rob Lorden (6/5): - It was out of town
- Philip (9/5): Perfect hosts. :) - I loved the fact that when we had an issue with the room & notified the staff it was fixed immediately & then we were very happy with everything.
The rooms were spotless. that the fridge did not work when we arrived but did not notice this until the following evening when the food was not cold & the milk had curdled. However it was rectified & I would like to stress that if you have a problem you let the owners know so they can fix it.
- Julia (8/5): -
- Robin (9/5): - Quiet and comfortable.
- Barbara (9/5): Just what we needed before a long drive home. - value for money, quiet, very clean and tidy, comfy beds.
- im (7/5): - Like the surrounding, the view. There was a misunderstanding. We park n walk across the bridge. The staff must have thought we came another way. We did not know the other entrance at that time.Hence the instructions for our unit was to go the the main road and next right. It was very dark. So we head back to state highway. Got ourself stuck on the soft grass n realise the next right is not the motel. I felt uneade as we were stuck with part of car in state highway. Perhaps better lighting near motel. Manage to get our car out before needing to seek assistance.
- ann (6/5): Adequate - Beds and 2 bedrooms Adequate unit. Dated and Road noise
- Luke (10/5): Just What We Were Looking For - Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. I saw the team going around doing their cleaning run and could tell they do a really thorough job, so the rooms are sparking clean. Rooms are good size and have everything you need.
Great set up for a stop on our family road trip. You do get a bit of road noise but that is to be expected with the location. The pricing reflects the fact you will get some road noise and they do provide ear plugs, so it's just something to be aware of more than anything.
- Julieta (10/5): -
- Jane (8/5): Great value for money comfortable and heaters worked very well. - It was. Rey clean and house keeping came in every day and tidied and made the bed One of the windows was very badly damaged which didn’t really affect the stay but it would have been good to have been told about it. And one a personal level the bed was way to soft.
- hawkes (9/5): - Did anything to make stay great Wind ha ha
- Shirley (10/5): -
- Byres (9/5): - Really liked the size of the rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Alan (8/5): Quirky but Comfortable. - Large spacious room with good facilities very comfortable bed.
A bit quirky set up but great value for the cost. Shower stall too small even for smaller statute people. And no power point in the bathroom.
- Harendra (10/5): -
- Matt (9/5): Clean, tidy, comfortable, we will be back. - Easy access to the unit, it was very clean, good layout of the rooms, it was better then we were expecting and we will be back next time we head over to greymouth
- aimes (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Loo (4/5): Bring ear plugs to stay here - Good size room Constant traffic noise is really annoying. Rooms did not come with heater
- AliC (5/5): - The unit was well presented and had comfortable beds. Limited options in the kitchen however we were only there for the transition to our next destination. Noise noise noise.. 😞 100kmph within 20m of your door is hard to adjust too... Didn't realise until too late in the booking.
- Akhil (8/5): Great value for money - We had a really comfortable time here. Place was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and had everything we needed. It genuinely felt relaxing and taken care of. Noise due to vehicular traffic at night.
- Peter (8/5): -
- TED (8/5): Excellent. - Nice quiet spot. Fresh air. Nice and clean. good value. Was booked out on our return journey.
- z-uzw (8/5): - 在一个农场边,空气很好 位置有些偏,且位于公路边,汽车声有点吵
- Guest (7/5): -
- DaniVida (8/5): -
- Leanne (9/5): Would still stay here again. - High ceilings helped make the accommodation feel more spacious. Checked in by a lovely friendly lady. Could hear the kiwis outside. Main bedroom was quite crowded. Not a lot of space to move around one side of the bed.
- Denise (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf! - Schoon en ruim appartement. Goede kookmogelijkheden. Zalig bed. Fijne badkamer. Wasmachine en droger beschikbaar voor gemeenschappelijk gebruik. Vriendelijke mensen. Alles was top.
- Paul (10/5): - Loved the apartment. Very well equipped with thoughtful extras. Really enjoyed our stay.
- Anne (9/5): awesome stay - Lovely place to base myself exploring the West Coast. Very comfortable and great location Nothing
- Neroli (9/5): Excellent place to stay and would definitely recommend. - Clean, spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of beds, towels and the carport area made it easy to unload. Nice outdoor area to sit and relax with a coffee. Close to town too. Road noise but we anticipated that.

- Guest (7/5): -
- Dale (6/5): Nice enough unit for the price but traffic noise was an issue in our unit. - Hosts were great. Space was what we needed. Um .... we had the closest unit to the highway and ... yes, traffic noise was very bad.\
But ... we had been up since 4:30am so we slept OK :-) Mainly just out to it.
- Ed (9/5): -
- Sandy (7/5): -
- Tim (9/5): - Clean amenities Traffic noise
- Shaun (9/5): Very comfortable stay, the room was sizable, and very clean. Lots of parking available. - The staff were super friendly and helpful, I had requested a late checkout time and the staff were more than happy to accommodate my request. There is a bit of road transmission from the main road, but this cannot be helped. Perfectly fine once asleep.
- Christine (10/5): Really nice stay and very comfortable room. Very close to Greymouth - 5m drive. - separate seating area and a full kitchen. Bed was also very comfortable. Main road location and traffic noise - but that died off overnight and i didn't notice it after the first night.
- Ron (8/5): Highly recommend, love the Bush surrounding. - Love the location quiet even though the main road runs past, very clean and tidy all the facilities you need to self cater. Can't fault
- Colin (10/5): Awesome, stayed there two separate nights, will absolutely recommend to friends or relatives - Exceptionally clean, had a lovely smell. Great value for money.
Excellent cooking facilities Maybe access to a clothesline outside
- Vincent (9/5): -
- Tony (9/5): Highly recommend - Comfortable, good price , friendly staff, super spacious, great amenities, close to Greymouth
- Caroline (9/5): Comfortable night's accommodation - Spacious accommodation with a great kitchen. A little bit of road noise being on the main road but not too bad
- David (7/5): Nice motel but didn't like the traffic noise. -
- Sheree (5/5): Spacious budget accommodation - The unit was really spacious. Separate bedrooms, bathroom and shower. It was raining lightly when we arrived, I got quite damp, walking across the bridge to reception. The shower tap was unusual. The car space was small for two cars. The bed was uncomfortable.
- Sarah (6/5): - Nice and spacious unit and clean Very run down- could do with a bit of a spruce up
- Sonja (10/5): -
- Carmel (10/5): Warm welcome, well presented unit, enjoyed our stay. - Spacious, clean, well presented. Comfortable for our group of four, and everything we needed.
- James (8/5): Enjoyed the location. - The location was nice for a stop on the way up the west coast. The rooms were perfect for 4 of us.
- Marie (9/5): Warm, comfortable, with excellent internet. Despite some road noise, I'd definitely stay here again. - It's like a granny flat, with a separate bedroom and lounge. It also has a full stove, and cooking implements, so you can cook a full meal. The internet is also very good. Bonus: we heard kiwis during the night! The only criticism is that the units are located next to the busy road, and there is no double glazing, so there was a bit of road noise. However, it got quiet after about 10pm, so it didn't interrupt my sleep.
- Wendy (7/5): Motel just outside of Greymouth was convenient - We liked having access to some private space outside. It was also nice to be able to park right outside our door. There was a nice dining table and the kitchen was well-equipped. Unfortunately, there was a lot of road noise all night long so we didn't have a restful sleep.
- Martin (8/5): - Very clean. Comfy bed. Large room There was a lot of road noise.
- Samantha (9/5): -
- Karen (8/5): A beautiful view and well-appointed facilities, matched with friendly, knowledgeable staff. - The kitchen and dining room was immaculately clean and had everything you need to cook and eat. The lounge looked comfortable but we didn’t spend time here. Out unit was clean and the beds were lovely. The ensuite had complimentary soap and shampoo. The property has plenty of options for rooms and shared facilities are spread around. Staff were very helpful regarding tours and times to visit the glacier, which can be seen from the property when conditions are right (we missed it, unless it was that glow…) However, the room had no opening windows or source of ventilation, unless we left the door open. Maybe there was a hidden source?
- Theresa (8/5): We found the staff (boss I think he was) very friendly and the room was very comfortable. No compla - We provided our own breakfast and dinner which was fine, we didn't expect it to be supplied for us. Nothing was wrong at all
- Thomas (9/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Good quality, comfortable and well priced accommodation. - Full kitchen with good quality, clean crockery and kitchenware. The place overall was very clean. This accommodation met our needs really well.
- LoVullo (10/5): A bright retreat with a top-notch bed, seamless check-in, and all the practical comforts you need. - We had a fantastic experience here. The check-in was incredibly efficient—the friendly staff had our keys ready immediately and even shared some great local dining and sightseeing tips. Parking is right at the front door, making unloading a breeze. Check-out was simple with a handy key drop box.
The room itself felt huge thanks to the vaulted ceilings and amazing natural light from the large sliding glass door. It was pristine and had a great vibe. The bed was top-notch quality, and the kitchenette (fridge, microwave, sink) was perfect for our needs. We also really appreciated the fast Wi-Fi and the abundance of outlets for our devices. Great shower water pressure and a nice touch with the provided coffee, tea, and cream.
Excellent value for the price. We would definitely stay again! There is some road noise during the day if you have the doors/windows open, because there is no air conditioning, but it quieted down significantly at night. There are even provided earplugs, which was a thoughtful touch but I did not need to use. The town, beach, and local sights are all very close, but you’ll likely want a car as they aren't quite within walking distance.
- STACEY (5/5): -
- Rosalind (8/5): Great place, great moteliers - Great location, clean and tidy N/a
- Roderick (7/5): Comfortable and clean room and nice gardens,, short drive to town - The property had everything we needed for our short stay. N/A
- Mark (8/5): - being able to bring our dog, A comfortable homely unit
- Lin (4/5): An interesting stay. No one we would wish to repeat. - Good location. The owner Steph was very welcoming and friendly. And we were very happy that our Border Collie could stay there with us. It was very disappointing that the water pressure in the shower was inadequate. Virtually a mere trickle. The hot water pressure in the bathroom vanity too was inadequate too. There was no heat pump in the unit. There were x2 portable heaters that were inadequate. Had problems with the TV, owner said wiggle this connection etc. Then she came to sort it out. The outside of the box kitchen window was taped up with duck tape. And the couch was uncomfortable. The interior walls of the unit showed evidence of maintainance / painting that hadn't been completed. The owner Steph said this was the last unit they were going to refurbish. I believe it shouldn't have been available to the public. It was the worst motel unit we have ever stayed in.
- Christian Dieter (8/5): -
- Stefan (9/5): -
- Amisha (8/5): -
- Robert Wynne (8/5): - Location Needs some work on the unit.
Its not bad but it shows.
- Jeremy (8/5): -
- Norma (3/5): - The lady was lovely and helpful It was dated old no fans or cooling the beds were uncomfortable the traffic noise was bad
- Marion (10/5): - The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and our host wad lovely and easy to talk to.
- Moyra (10/5): Lovely accommodation at the edge of the highway - Clean, comfortable, had cooking facilities and option to sit outside in a lovely garden if desired. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Not too far from the town but still need a car or call a taxi. Road noise, but we slept so well it wasn't an issue during the night.
- M. (10/5): - Een prima motel! Schoon, goed uitgeruste keuken, ruim, alles aanwezig. Perfect! Wanneer je last zou hebben van de auto’s op de weg waar het motel aan ligt is het aanbevelenswaardig om oordopjes mee te nemen. Want er komt veel verkeer langs.
- Bill (8/5): - Just north of Greymouth. Great spot if you are heading up to Punakaiki. Close to main road so a bit of road noise early in the morning and into the early night
- Wolfgang (8/5): -
- vicky (8/5): - Lovely decor and attention to detail ,loved the comfy beds and the place was spotless, would definitely stay again was excellent value for money.
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Mclay (8/5): - Staff were lovely and the room was very clean, nice little outdoor area off our lounge Right on the main road, there were earplugs in the rooms though. Didn't worry us but if youre not used to road noise it would
- Margaret (8/5): Good value for money. Clean and spacious. - Unit was clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. nil
- John (9/5): Greymouth Stop - Super clean with everything you need at hand If windows are open a lot of road noise, fortunately not a lot of traffic at night
- Troy (8/5): Worth it - Pretty good A little noisy as next to a busy highway
- Caitlyn (10/5): -
- Dee (10/5): A great comfortable place to stay. - A very well presented motel it had everything we needed. Nothing it was all good.
- tfj100 (9/5): Handy NZ motel, well priced - Traditional NZ motel layout, well looked after with a friendly host. We had access to the washing machine and dryer which was helpful Slightly odd layout with a river in the middle! Some units close to the highway but traffic noise wasn't a problem.
- Mona (10/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Hidden gem in Greymouth - The unit was spacious though old. The kitchen was very well equipped with both kitchenware and equipment. The espresso machine was a plus as we had pods.
The whole unit was impeccable throughout and not a smear or speck of dust. The entrance to the motel wasn't well signposted and reception not readily accessible. However, this is a minor irritation.
- Hannah (10/5): - Sehr freundliche Dame am Empfang. Die Apartments waren top ausgestattet. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.
- Pam (10/5): - Fantastic place to stay while biking the trails. Everything you needed. Including air plugs. Thanks.
