Guest Reviews
- kemp (9/5): No problems every thing was very good - Location. Garden. Staff . Very clean Nothing
- Kerry Eller (8/5): -
- Baker (9/5): Overall good experience, accomodation could do with a bathroom upgrade - Lovely staff, very welcoming and sweet, great location close to everything walking distance in the Main Street.
Great value for money with inclusive breakfast. The room was clean with a nice view of the pool however the bathroom was quite mouldy and had no fresh air ventilation with a bad smell
- Martina (10/5): - Everything the yard flowers ,plant and the good hosts the most. The best choice for a guest house, it exceeded our expectations.
- Tatjana (9/5): -
- Nora (9/5): - I booked this room specifically to have a balcony to look at the stars during Nieypi and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy. Minor things like having to turn off the lights in the corridor at night, lack of fridge in the room, or missing a few plugs by the night table. Otherwise it's really peaceful :)
- Michael (10/5): - Super schön, klein und familiär. Toller Pool, gutes Restaurant. Der Garten schön gestaltet.
Mitten in Ubud.

- Holly (10/5): Peaceful hotel in the heart of ubud - The location was excellent we could walk to all markets and restaurants. The hotel was so peaceful and calm. Such great value for money, the rooms were clean and breakfast was great.
- Anita (7/5): Fair stay for two nights, thank you. - Pretty quiet for a very busy area. I requested a quiet room but was given one overlooking the main courtyard and dining area. Room wasn't private, and didn't feel much love or care for the room and bathroom. Also, no need to spray chemicals in the room before arrival!
- Rebecca (5/5): Very basic, nice staff, but look out for the cockroaches - Good location, breakfast was decent Giant cockroach crawled on me while in the room
- Helen (8/5): Balinese stay - This was tucked away and next to a main temple, which had ceremonies taking place during the stay and made it a nice cultural experience. The room was comfortable and had a small balcony and convenient amoire to put my luggage and belongings. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and the Balinese breakfast pancakes were delicious. I appreciated the breakfast option. The location is a little further away from the center, but very walkable. Lots of cute shops along the way. Everything was great.

- Kelly (7/5): We had a lovely stay, good location right on the main road however the room was spacious but just too little light insid - Beautiful pool area, big bathroom The room was very dark
- Martin (10/5): - Central located to everything, clean, comfortable and peaceful place to relax.
Pdj moyen
- jude (10/5): One night stay - Great location. Lovely breakfast
- Mollie (8/5): Good quiet stay in busy Ubud! - We enjoyed our stay at Staya House - good location just off of a main road although very quiet. Ample food places/attractions within walking distance which we thought was great! Room was clean on arrival & housekeeping offered during our stay. Room with balcony area was nice! Breakfast was great & could overlook pool area which was nice for a dip. Thanks for having us! When we first arrived the rooms ceiling was leaking (possibly due to very heavy rain around our stay) however we were immediately moved rooms when notifying staff - luckily they had availability for this.
- Yolanda Sternberg (8/5): - The staff were wonderful. We forgot a purse there and they made a huge effort to get it back to us in seminyak. It is close to many shops and great restaurants. Breakfast could do with a bit of an update.
- mhabibahsan (6/5): - Location Breakfast
- Ranjith (6/5): - Location is great Breakfast is very limited and it's available only for specific timings...if you have plans to start early for any activity they don't provide take away...our AC didn't work properly but they gave fan as an option..
- Edward (6/5): - The room was very tidy. AC was a little weak due to brick air vents right next to it. Bathroom was very basic but sufficient!
- Jan (7/5): -
- beverley (5/5): -
- GERARD (8/5): Bien pour un jour ou deux. - Bon emplacement.
- Carmen (8/5): - The room needs more care. Very educated employees and requests
- César (6/5): -
- Tristan (8/5): -
- Cheryl (5/5): Tranquil place- if on a budget it’s okay. wouldn’t have breakfast again here - Nice location tranquil setting in the midst of a busy place
Large room overlooking pool although i paid for superior room Staff didn’t really speak English so no one to help you with anything
The breakfast wasn’t nice - my son said worse than hostel breakfasts - they would be better to do pastries and bread etc
they accidentally froze my medication which completely ruined it but they did sort it out in the end. the manager tried to get me to pay some of it but i refused as it was their fault. i emailed before hand to say it needed to go in the fridge and also explained on arrival however their english wasn’t good enough to understand. but medication is important so they should have asked.
- Rajendra (7/5): Prima - Omgeving Ontbijt was eenzijdig. Vooral als je vegetarisch bent
- Victoria (9/5): Lovely! - Fantastic location close enough to everything without the Ubud madness! Plus there was a lovely pool to cool down in.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Nice little place
Good location
Clean
- Lara (8/5): Buona scelta in centro - Posizione ottima in via più defilata rispetto alla centrale. Camera pulita.
- Anna (7/5): - Great location, ended up with 2 singles instead of a king and the breakfast was a bit average. But nice enough for a good price
- clotilde (9/5): -
- Rebecca (7/5): -
- Khizar (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (6/5): Good place if you want to be in the city center. - The most convenient thing about this place is its location. It's quite central, and you can easily find places around it. It's close to the monkey forest. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast it’s ok but there are just a few options. Things look a bit old, and while it's not a major issue, cleanliness is. The bathroom wasn't very clean, and the shampoo and shower gel seemed to be the same.
- Shona (9/5): Superb - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was an added bonus. The accommodation was close to the main stretch of Ubud. They arranged a driver to take us back to Legian and he was really lovely. The pool is on the small side but still enjoyable.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (8/5): Recommend - Location and staff very accommodating. Warung on site with good food. No fridge in room
- Grégory (10/5): - À 5_10 mn du centre. Très bel hôtel
- Avni (7/5): Great location and comfortable rooms! - Great sized rooms and bathrooms, big beds We had an AC issue so had to switch rooms
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Wonderful stay & gr8 value for money. - The breakfast was lovely, the fresh fruit followed by a freshly cooked breakfast was always appreciated. More than enough to start my day. Staff always pleasant to deal with. Location was good with loads of coffee shops & restaurants within easy walking distance . Loads of boutique shops nearby too for that fussy buyer. Wonderful value for money. Highly recommend. No complaints at all.
- Bronwen (8/5): Nice hotel - The pool area and gardens were beautiful. Room was nice and had a balcony. Water every day and room was cleaned. Friendly staff. Staff were friendly but limited English.
- Rahul (6/5): Pleasant - Location and staff Actual room allotted was different than photo on booking.com
- Divya (9/5): Value for money and convenient - Location, Breakfast
- Veronica (8/5): - Staff were beautiful. Take insect repellent as lots of mozzies. A lovelyly calming place.
- Sándor (9/5): Feedback - - good breakfast
- pool
- close to centre of Ubud
- helpful staff
- getting water every day - less plug-in possibilities in the room
- Kalis (8/5): Lovely - Great location and lovely clean rooms
- Jodie (10/5): Great value for money and in a perfect location - Satya House is in a great location with shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions within walking distance. The hotel is located back from the street so it is quiet at night. The staff are great, they arranged an awesome driver named Yoga to take us on a sunrise tour. Our room was spacious and clean, the shower had good pressure and was hot. The hotel grounds were peaceful and well maintained. Extra power points and a bedside table would have been helpful but we were only there for a couple of nights so it was fine.
- Nyi (8/5): Very good -
- Karin (7/5): Good -
- Paphawarin (8/5): Very good -
- Veronika (10/5): Brilliant - Beautiful garden with pool, super comfortable room and beds, really good location to explore Ubud. Tasty brekkie served from 8-10 am. Everything was fine, we even extended for one more night.
- Raković (7/5): Good -
- Jason (7/5): Good - I had to leave before breakfast this trip, but the last time I stayed at Satya House, the breakfast was phenomenal and comes included with the room each morning. The rooms are large and offer a ton of outdoor space in front of the entry to hangout and enjoy the serenity.
The location, just down the street from Ubud Centre, is great and since the property is backed away from the main road, it remains incredibly quiet. The mattresses are not the best I've stayed on but are certainly acceptable for a short stay.
- Majella (8/5): Very good - Satya House is a little oasis in the middle of Ubud. Highly recommend.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yasmine (9/5): Superb -
- Vincent (8/5): - I needed a plumbing repair which was quick. The family are wonderful and accomodating. Balanese are the nicest people.
- Robin (9/5): Excellent accommodation Staff was really friendly and helpful. Perfect location - Breakfast was lovely and the location was perfect
- Malcomber (8/5): The location is excellent. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. - the breakfast was good. The staff were lovely and kind There could have been hooks or towel racks in the bathroom
- Ricardo (8/5): Totally worth a stay - Super charming and very centric. Nice breakfast. Loved the place! Being veeeery picky: the number and location of the plugs in the room I was in.
- Tabitha (6/5): Pleasant - The location was great, right in the middle of Ubud and easily walkable. Breakfast was great every morning. They had 4 different meals to choose from. And overall the place was generally clean and tidy. We did not have any issues with bugs, but there was bug spray provided in the room. It's definitely a middle of the road place. You can't beat the value, but manage your expectations. While the accommodations were satisfying I do feel like the photos are a bit misleading. The pool and courtyard is much smaller than they appear in photos. We were not given any instructions about the AC or facilities. The room is very small and our AC stopped twice during the week. The staff was able to get it running again quickly each time. The room was small with no hooks for hanging your bathroom bag or towels. Laundry is listed as an additional charge in amenities, but when I asked about lining up laundry service I never got a response back. The hair dryer only blew cold air. Tried to replace it and the next one was the same. The bed is very firm and so were the pillows.
- Ghada (9/5): Superb - Great location and very friendly staff.
- Valentin (8/5): Pleasant and quiet place - Pool deeper than average (1.80 deepest)
Very quiet area and establishment
Breakfast is nice and freshly cooked
Scooter rental service available at the property. Very good and reliable scooter 👌
Balcony available for furst floor rooms
Hard mattress, good if you like it Balcony door was tricky to close/open
Very odd, but, at times, in the evening, there was some sort of animal (cat probably) in the loft chasing mice or something else... causing the ceiling to tremble and shake, small bits of dust falling on the bed, on us.
- Kristina (7/5): Good - The location is really good.
The air conditioner in the room we had, was a bit old and did not work that well.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
(Light) breakfast was included too.
- Kristina (7/5): Good -
- Deborah (7/5): Good stay in center of Ubud - Solid place to stay in the center of Ubud, but it's set back slightly from the road so you don't feel like you're in the thick of it. That said, my room faced the main street and I did hear some street noise. The balcony and pool were both lovely, and the location was great - I walked everywhere! They also connected me with a good driver for a half-day trip to the rice terraces and water temple. I had issues with ants my first night there. The staff was incredibly responsive, giving me my own personal can of pest spray and changing my sheets. But I still encountered more bugs here than elsewhere in SE Asia. And there's no refrigerator.
- Gemma (8/5): Lovely stay - Lovely tranquil spot, kind staff, sweet dog, comfy bed. Small things can make a difference - hooks to hang your towel, a larger shelf by the sink to hold your toiletries. But all in all it’s very nice.
- Wiseman (9/5): Superb - Lovely pool.
Great breakfast - good choices.
Quiet and peaceful but close to major street, with cafes and restaurants. Everything was fine.
- Dimitar (8/5): Great location and price - The location is great, it's within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and the main attractions in central Ubud such as Ubud Palace and the market. The staff was also very kind and helpful. Notably, they agreed to refund me the full amount of one of the two rooms that I had booked but ended up not using, despite the fact that a refund wasn't an option via Booking.com. The room we were in was a bit amortised and could do with a bit more maintenance and upkeep. There was a bit of a smell from the bathroom - could be due to the rain, as we visited during the wet season.
- Ella (10/5): Great location, clean, affordable - Spent a great 6 days at satya House. It is in a perfect location in Ubud. It was quiet and we got great sleep. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was excellent value for money and even included breakfast. The pool was also a great feature to relax by. We rented bikes from here too. They cleaned the rooms upon request which was great and provided bottled water . Also they have a beautiful dog that hangs out by the pool which we loved. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great having a safety deposit box and a hairdryer too. I will book Satya house again if I visit Ubud! Nothing. It was perfect
- Anatol (10/5): - This is such a beautiful homestay of a very lovely family with very friendly and helpful staff. Its right in the centre and close to everything you need in Ubud.
Fantastic energy! I'm always returning here.
🙏❤️🙏
- Kaia (9/5): Good value, friendly staff - Staff super friendly, nice pool clean towels every day, good location. Room a bit dark
- Shahid (8/5): Very good -
- Git (9/5): Superb -
- Git (10/5): Exceptional -
- Celina (9/5): Superb - Delicious breakfast, big room, comfy beds. The vibe is great, nice green area around the pool. Very nice staff. Good location to walk around, half way between the monkey forest and the palace. They didn't change the towels when cleaning the room, but I assume they would've if we asked for it. The whole place is a bit dated but it's not a deal-breaker.
- Anatol (10/5): - My favourite place in Ubud 😊🙏❤️ and such a lovely family!
...and right next to the Kafe 😋
- Joy (6/5): Please install fridges in the rooms. - I’ve read all the reviews, most of them are positive but we struggled to find many positives. I booked superior rooms and we ended up upstairs in small rooms, our friends who booked a standard room were downstairs in a much bigger room? There were no fridges in the rooms and in a climate like this a fridge is a basic, expecting people to share a fridge downstairs isn’t reasonable. There was no tv, no handrail at the top of the stairs for safety and when we asked for pool towels we were offered 1 towel for 5 people, eventually we were offered 2 more, apparently they were all away at the laundry. After the first night 4 couples left moving to somewhere that offered at least the basics. Satya is in a central position that’s good but charging a little more and giving people a fridge would be a very good idea.
- Yvette (6/5): Good location, ok accommodation - Comfortable bed Light shine all night into my room and I had to put a towel up to try to block it . Felt a little impersonal.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was perfect. Filled you up and the staff were so friendly and helpful we really enjoyed our stay Our room felt a little bit dark sometimes as we had no windows but we did book a cheaper room. Still a great spacious room with a nice big and comfortable bed
- Marta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joost (8/5): Very pleasant stay of three nights - Nice breakfast, very central location, nice garden and the owner arranged an excellent guide/driver.
- David (10/5): Lovely homestay in the heart of Ubud - We booked a week at Satya house after getting it recommended by someone we met during our stay in Bingin, and ended up enjoying it so much we extended the stay 4 more nights. The staff is super nice and helpful, and the location is absolutely dead center of Ubud. Close to the monkey forest and lots of shops and restaurants within 5-10 minutes by foot.
We had a room upstairs overlooking the pool and it was very nice. Included breakfast was good with several options available.
Minimal noise from the surrounding street and temple despite being very centrally located. Would highly recommend! No complaints
- Richard (6/5): Pleasant - Nice and quiet
Good location
Good price No comfy area to chill
Tiny pool
- Tania (10/5): Absolutely lovely, so grateful. - I love Satya House. The area is perfect so I could walk everywhere, it’s clean and pretty, and the family and staff are incredibly kind and sweet. I reserved three nights over Christmas, and came back as soon as they had rooms available again. I will be back.
- Fayzal (10/5): Please Don't Come - I stayed 3 days in this house, and it’s been the best stay experience I’ve had in Bali so far. The Balinese ambiance was incredible, the room spacious, the house spotlessly clean and the breakfast is yumms. The staff were super friendly and helpful—Agung (if I’m not mistaken). The location is also very strategic for me. I’m worried this place might just become my second home. Everything was great, but perhaps the room door could be fix and the lock could be modernized a bit for added convenience. 💚
