- Rachel (8/5): - Most all was clean, but someone had left a partially eaten sub in the fridge & there was lettuce, etc. left on the desk/table, so then that makes you question the cleanliness of the whole room. Otherwise, just grateful for a place to stay in Wagner.
- Todd (8/5): Three day stay. - Every thing was fine. The only thing I would have applied was the vending machines did not work. It rained most of trip so I was a little more confined to the motel. It would have been nice to get something to snack on there rather than going out in the rain to. The staff was very nice and the place was clean and quiet. The breakfast was okay though the cereal was stale and some of the bread moldy. They could up grade a little.

- Bradley (8/5): - It is decent, considering the location. Grateful to have a place to stay. Very glad there are new owners. These owners are nice & friendly. And honest. I had boycotted this hotel for years due to a previous manager trying to charge me for staying there when I hadn’t been able to book a room. I have stayed at this hotel 2 or 3 times since new ownership & haven’t had any issues being charged incorrectly. I understand the owners have tried to make improvements & it takes time & money. Everything has been clean, except this time one of the blankets appeared to be stained. Hoping it was just stained & not dirty. We didn’t use it, but made us question cleanliness of all the bedding.

Breakfast options are a continental breakfast and we were just fine with a fresh made waffle and a good cup of coffee. We will stay here again!! Staff are friendly, welcoming and as helpful as can be!!!!

- RENE (6/5): - The best thing about Lakeside is the location. It's next to Chapman Park/Lake Wagner. This is great for morning or evening walks. The worst thing about this property is the very iffy housekeeping service. If you are staying for more than one night, beware! You may or may not get any housekeeping service and you will need it daily as they only give you the bare minimum on towels and other items.

- Roy (6/5): - They advertised no-smoking rooms. The hotel reeked of cigarette smoke even the rooms I woke in the morning with a headache. And my sinuses are still stuffed. The toilet plugged at 10:00 at night and the office was unavailable to even contact for a plunger.

Looks as though it has had some hard use. The owner was pleasant, and I took the third room he showed me.
- carla (6/5): Don't think i will be staying there ever again - The outside of the building was very nice, but the inside needed updates. The out side door don't has a opening so cold in the room. The inside of the hotel need vacuumed all over and it had a very bad small in the hotel.
- Michael (3/5): The hunting was good. - The price. The rooms were dirty. Towels and washcloths were stain and dirty. The rooms looks as though they were not cleaned. We were there for 5 days, and our trash was never emptied.
- Katrina (5/5): Unkempt and Uncomfortable - The staff was friendly, and the parking was convenient. The room was spacious, and the motel was close to my destination. It was quiet and felt safe. There were several things that were broken or dirty in the room, i.e. mold in the shower and boogers on the bathroom wall. There was hair all over the bathroom floor. The beds and pillows were not particularly comfortable. The room felt old and dated.

- Charm (8/5): - We arrived very late close to midnight but the front desk gentleman was very kind and said he's been expecting us and had everything ready to go. He just handed me the key card and wished me a good night. However, it was 9:00AM and my wife and I were still in a very long but important conversation and the lady doing house cleaning had already knocked on our door wanting to come clean our room. Our conversation was interrupted and we quickly gathered our things and left. It's just one of those times my wife and I finally had time to spend with each other away from the kids and had a meaningful deep conversation because our minds were clear in the morning.

The toilet seat lid wasn’t attached to the toilet and I nearly slid off when I sat down while bathing my granddaughter when we first got there. Also there were only 2 very thin towels for four of us, but we did bring our own so that was alright too. Could be better maintained but I honestly think they are working on it and the over all experience was nice. I will definitely be staying there on my travels that way again.

We had an accessible room which was helpful for us and spacious. The staff was helpful. It could be updated a bit and the breakfast cereal was stale, but really it was comfortable and felt very safe.

Second room the bathroom floor was sticky, dresser had something spilled on it. ( went to dollar store bought cleaner) to clean and sanitize the room. Coffee maker had old used filter in it and water in the reservoir. Refrigerator did not work.

- Verified traveler (6/5): About average for the area. - Room service forgot to clean our room the first night; Had a very difficult time getting a plunger when toilet got plugged; Compared to a big city motel, pretty substandard but for the Wagner area about average. Breakfast offered is better than Dakota Inn. This is an alternative to consider if you rule out the Casino (which no longer offers any refunds for reservations) and if the Dakota Inn in Pickstown is not available.

- Jordan (6/5): Good for a night's stay, w/some privacy concerns. - This hotel was an old Super 8 before it became Wagner Lakeside Motel, and although it is the same building the accommodations are not the same. My complaints are: -The side entrance did not lock and was wide open, creating a privacy concern. People could go freely in and out without needing a card. -No lace curtains in the bedroom for privacy, so we never opened our windows up as people could see directly into our room. -The washing machine and dryer were out of order. They were in very poor condition and practically unusable. We only stayed one night in Wagner so it was not bad for the occasion. Although the customer service was not terrible I would not stay here long-term.

- Sandra (10/5): Basic one night stay. - Basic hotel perfect for an overnight. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. Room was plain but comfortable. Breakfast offered a minimal amount of choices. Toast, bagel, sweet roll, or waffle and hard boiled egg. Some yogurt or fruit would have been a nice addition. But the price was right and there wasn’t much else available in this area.
- Kyle (2/5): - The staff are very rude! We asked for our room to be cleaned cause would be out for the day, they didn’t do a thing. When we asked to exchange our towels they made a big deal about it. You can tell they never clean clean the rooms. You can tell they don’t pay attention to the rooms cause one of the pictures on the walls hung upside down and the dust on it was so thick. I will never stay at this hotel again.
- Kendra (4/5): - Very limited breakfast options, staff was incredibly rude and hostile on the phone (hung up on us multiple times), quite a bit of trash and broken bottles littering the property and piled outside our neighbor’s door. A bit run down but clean enough and serviceable. Beds weren’t very comfortable. The man at the front desk was personable, but no one was there when we checked out in the morning. There is a beautiful little city park right next to the property that we walked through that evening.

- Chris (1/5): Bad - We didn't like anything. We didn't like anything. The room was dirty. There was loose garbage in several places in the room. A towel rod was broken and hang off the wall. The smoke detector was broken and in a dresser drawer with bare wires exposed from where the detector should have been. The window had no lock on it and it was on the ground level. We had concerns that the room could easily be broken into.

- Benjamin (2/5): Terrible stay would not pay 20$ to stay again - So the entrance door from outside did not work so we had to walk around to find a door into the building then walk back to our room once in the room there is a sign saying the door only works as an exit then there were no spoons at breakfast and the waffle mix was coming out of the machine in huge wet clumps with powder in the middle then got woken up at 1020 getting yelled at that I was supposed to be out at 10 but checkout is 1100 and was told I got til 1040 to get out so she can clean the room and this was the front desk guys wife bought a Cinnamon roll out of vending and the best by date was 2 months past the message in the ice machine read please clean ice machine immediately the window was broken in the room with a chunk missing so flys ECT could get in
